Chapters Chapter 1: Abandoned
“Mommy! mommy!” I run to my mom hoping she would keep me.
“GO AWAY! I DON’T WANT YOU!” I stop and try to process what she just said
“M-mommy?”
“Go away I don’t know you! you aren’t my daughter…you are just a street rat looking for love.”
“Mommy!” I run to her and hug her leg...she kicks me away and starts walking to me with a fiery face.
“I don’t have a daughter...you are just a street rat.” I move back and I trip on a banana peel
“No...mommy stop!” I start crying but her expression doesn’t change...and she pulls out a knife.
“Mommy no!” she steps on my legs and breaks one.
“This street rat must be exterminated…” she cuts me and I feel my blood pour out.
“AHH!” I see my short life flash before my eyes my first day of school...daddy dying of cancer...mommy's drinking problem...she killing my brother and burying him too.
“Hey who goes there?” she looks over her shoulder and sees a blue pony with a red and light blue mane walking to us.
“What did you do to her?
“M...m...m-mommy…” I try to say my strength quickly depleting
“Are you her mother? What did you do? What are you doing?”
“I’m not a mother...I’m just exterminating a pest.” she moves her arm up for another strike but the other mare held it.
“Don’t you dare hurt that child or there will be consequences....”
“Like what?...bitch?” The blue pegasus gets in a stance.
“This.” she blows fire, earth water and air at her and mommy she hits the ground...I feel...faint…
A few hours later…
I start to wake up thinking what happened last night was a dream hoping it was...but it wasn’t I was in a different house in a different bedI try to sit up but my body stings with pain and I look down to see a bandage wrapped around me.
“Where am I?” The same mare from last night walked in with a little girl next to her.
“Ahh! It’s good to see you’re awake it took Trina 3 hours to heal you so what’s your name?” I didn’t want to talk I didn’t want to accept what happened my mom abandoning me and trying to kill me leaving me for dead.
“So it seems you’re not a talker that’s fine I can talk all day by the way name is Gleaming Stars and this is my daughter Forresta.”
“Hi how are you?” I didn’t say anything I just looked at them then a cat climb on the bed and layed on lap and she purred I giggled.
“What’s her name?” they were so surprised that I said something
“Her name is Snowfluff” I pet the small cat.
“My name is Leila.”
“Well it’s nice to meet you Leila and Forrest leave please you have school today
“Okay mom” she leaves the room.
“Okay...question why were you in that alley with your mom?”
“I don’t know all I remember was being dragged out of my room and through the streets with ponies looking at me I was crying and then we took a train here...”
“Wow...Leila I will leave you in here but know you will go to school tomorrow...I forgot to ask where are you from? If i may ask.”
“I’m from Manehatten...Bronx to be exact…”
“Wow that’s far well I will leave you to recover...just don’t go walking around you’re still injured.” I nodded she starts to walk out the room
“Wait can I have a tennis ball and...where am I exactly?”
“Okay and you are in Ponyville.” Wow I am far from home...I don’t have any guardians now since...it was only me and mommy…I’m all alone now...abandoned…
“Here.” she gives me a tennis ball and leave the room I just throw it at the wall for a few hours I ended up getting a streak going longet I got was two hundred hits on one spot…
The next day…
“There! she should be fine to walk but no physical contact okay?
“Do you understand Lelia no physical contact.”
“Yeah I know…” I don’t want to go to school today...I wasn’t accepted in Manehatten why should it be different here?
“Okay I got your stuff from Manehatten you will live here in this room with Forresta until we can get another room built.”
“Okay…” I grab my stuff and prepare to go to school.
“Where do you think you’re going?”
“School…”
“Not without a lunch you are.” I didn’t really think she would give me one because my mom didn’t give me one and I had to live like that.
“Thank you…”
“Hey your my daughter now...okay I’m not like your old one.”
“Whatever…” I walk out the front door expecting the hustle and bustle like Manehatten...but it was calm there were a few ponies here and there but otherwise it was calm...I slowly walked to school expecting to be jumped any second but I wasn’t...Ponyville is a quiet quaint city.
Later on...at school
“Alright everyone take a seat I have some news for you all we have a new student! her name Leila!” I shyly walk out with my mane covering my face and glasses
“Hi…” I say quietly as possible…
“You can sit in between Lena and Lune.” I walk to the middle and sit in the seat next to the red and brown ponies
“Hi my name is Lena my brother August sits up front” she points to a brown colt with a Lion King type mane.
“And mine is Lune it’s nice to meet you Leila.”
“Cool…”
“You don’t sound like you’re from around here, where are you from?” Lune asked
“I’m from Manehatten the Bronx to be exact.”
“Oh cool!” Lena said excitingly
“Can we just pay attention to the lesson…” I tune them out and listen to the lesson Mrs. Cheerilee was teaching.
A few weeks later
"Can you leave me alone? Please Lune?" She gives me a frown
"Why are you so distant from everyone?"
"I just want to be left alone..." She sighs
"Okay but if you need help talk to me or Lena okay?"
"Whatever..." She walks away hesitatingly
"I don't need someone to worry about me I'm fine..." I walk to lunch and sit outside under a tree and start to eat and read.
"Oh I like that book!" I look up to see a blue colt with a red mane.
"What Night?" I like Night it’s sad and depressing like my life...
"Yeah it's a good book my name is Sun Glare but you can call me Sunny."
"Okay Sunny leave me alone!" I close the book and get my stuff and walk away.
"Hey wait!" He runs up to me
"What?"
"I never got your name."
"It's Leila now leave me alone!" He stops
"Karin was right you are a loner."
"I'm not a loner...I'M JUST DEPRESSED!" Tears start to flow down my face.
"I'm sorry...I didn't mean to make you cry."
"Shut up! Leave me alone!" I run, run away from him all my problems everything and hide in one of the classrooms and just cry.
"Leila come out it's me Mrs.Cheerilee I heard what happened and I want to help."
"No! Leave me alone!"
"I know you feel alone and afraid I want to help." I walk out and sat in front of her.
"I don't know what to do...I feel hatred I don't know what love is anymore."
"Leila you are loved even if no one shows it they love you, you have friends do you?"
"I talk to Lena and Lune here and there but not a lot..."
"But do they care about you?"
"Yeah...a lot..."
"Then they are your friends!" I said nothing I couldn't believe that I have actual friends...
"I want to go see them..."
"Go I'm not stopping you." I run out the class to the lunch room and I see Lena being bullied by Karin I run in front of Lena and face the aggressors
"Leave her alone..." Karin scoffs
"Shouldn't you be hiding in a corner debating whether or not to kill yourself?" I laugh
"I don't know shouldn't you be getting your head out of your ass?" There's a ‘oohs’ in the lunchroom."
"You little street rat!"
"I maybe a street rat but at least I have true friends!"
"Grr...shut up!" She bends fire at me I react quickly and ended up bending water
"W-what I can waterbend?" I hear murmurs in the crowd.
"You little!" She throws more fire at me and I block it.
"Leave my friends alone.”
“Fine I was getting bored anyways…” she flips her mane and walks off, I turn around to check on Lena who is being helped up by her brother.
“Thanks Leila…”
“Hey it’s what friends are for.” I turn around and start to walk out the door for next class.
“HEY STREET RAT!” a glass bottle hits me in the head and I feel the glass shards cut my neck and face I bend water at her.
“Leave me alone mom!”
“Oh...so the little street rat learned to defend herself.” she pulls out a knife I look at it and I start to get flashbacks of the event a few weeks ago…
“M-mommy?” I start to crawl to her.
“Yes come closer…” she puts her knife up and then I snap out of it and I bend something else...something dark...and unclean...I look up and I see she’s frozen...I was bloodbending… one of the worst of all.
“Stop mom! leave me and my new family alone or else!”
“Or else what Leila?”
“This!” without thinking the power and darkness consume me and I easily break her arm.
“AHHH!” the knife dropped and the surge of power and darkness left and the depression started to settle in, I stop bending her and ran away...to the only place I know...Gleaming’s house...my new house, I swing the door open and run to my room and start crying.
“Why does no one like me! why does everyone hate me!” I see the same colt from earlier.
“Are you okay? I saw you run off bleeding and I was wondering if you were okay…”
“GO AWAY YOU DON’T CARE!” I yelled at him
“YES I DO CARE!” he snapped back “I’VE ALWAYSED CARED EVER SINCE I SAW YOU!” I blush and I couldn’t explain the feeling I had what was it? was it love? No it couldn’t be...could it?
“Do...do you like me?” he leaned in and kissed me on the cheek it felt warm and fuzzy.
“Yes...I do…” I kiss him on the cheek.
“I like you too...Sunny.” I hug him
“Here let me take you to Trina you’re bleeding very bad.”
“Okay.” he helps me up and walks me to Trina’s place, he knocks on the door.
“Yes?” a Purple pony opens the door
“Trina can you heal Leila for me?”
“Okay come on in…” He helps me in
“Put her here.” He helps me on the bed.
“Now Leila I want you to look at me and focus on me you may feel faint okay?”
“Alright…” I look straight at him
“Stay still.” I feel a tingling sensation at the back of my head and I start to feel faint.
“Leila eyes on me remember?”
“O...okay…” I start to look at his face his charming face.
“Done...phew…you are a strong one I could feel it when I was healing you” she sits down and I start fall forward.
“Leila?” he catches me I start to drift off...and I feel his tears drop on my face
“Don’t you leave me!”I slowly start to drift off more and more
“Bye...Sunny.”
“NO DON’T YOU SAY THAT!”I start to see darkness then everything went black.
Chapter 3: Found
I start to wake up and immediately I feel pain.
"Oww! My head!" I see a blue figure move was it Sunny? Of course it was it had to be Sunny...Right? I get up and I'm in my old room.
"Lelia...Lelia..." I walk around looking for Sunny.
"Sunny?" I walk to his voice.
"Leila..." I see him and run to him.
"Sunny!" Then I stopped because I felt something dark and different about him.
"Lelia...why do you like me? Because I don't." I step back.
"That's not true you do love me! You do!" His face started to bleed.
"No...you don't..." He shakes his head and a strong wind hits me with his blood flying everywhere.
"Yes I do!"
"No..." I start to cry
"Yes!"
"No..." I get on my knees.
"Yes...I truly do..." He pulls me up and looks at me his face is clean and my surroundings change to an open meadow it was beautiful like nothing I've ever seen before.
"Leila...I love you." I look around to see Lune and Lena in blue dresses and I see new people and my new mom, I feel a tug at me and it was a filly who looked five years old and she was tugging on my dress...a wedding dress I start to cry again.
"I love you too Sunny..." His image becomes distorted and everything went dark again
"Sunny?!" I start to panic then I saw me I had longer hair and you could only see one eye I couldn't move she moves her arms around and I start moving with them she then quickly jerks my body and started to pull me apart.
"No!" I start to get control of my body and I finally broke her hold and I bended ice sickles at her which I had no idea how I did it and they missed she looked at me with a devilish smile and laughed hysterically.
“You can’t beat me...this power I have...the darkness is too strong…” I cry and started bending more ice at her.
“NO! You’re wrong! Even if darkness feels good and being alone is calm it’s not strong!” she backs up.
“What?”
“Having family and friend are great because they love and care for you! You can see the light and it feels good...IT’S more powerful then you can ever imagine!” A ray of light shines on me and I bend a rainbow at her and she slowly disintegrates, I look at the light and I’m slowly pulled to it and I wake up in a hospital bed connected to monitor that showed my heartbeat it was normal… I try to get up but I feel an instant jolt of pain in my head.
“OWW!” I see Sunny wake up and run up to me.
“Leila! Your okay! THANK CELESTIA!” he hugs me and I flinch from the pain.
“Oww…”
“Oh sorry.” he stops and looks in his bag for something and pulls out a book...Night…
“You got that for me?”
“Yeah you didn’t finish it last week so...I wanted to read it with you.”
“Wait what do you mean a week ago?” he sighs and puts the book on the bed.
“You were in a coma for a week...I was worried I lost you...I stayed here to make sure you were okay...I heard you scream and I saw water moving around all over the place then yesterday you started to bend a nurse but then you stopped and you fell asleep again...and here we are.”
“I did some terrible things...I saw some terrible things...but I saw a good thing…”
“What was that Leila?”
“I saw our marriage and a little girl who was completely blue but had one red eye and one yellow eye...I wanted to name her Aviana.”
“Wow...but we are only twelve how can you be sure we are going to get married?”
“Because...I know I will still have depression but...my love for you and your’s for me will be stronger than depression.” he starts to cry.
“I know...I will always be there for you...Leila.”
“I know you will...now help me get out of here.” he laughs.
“You know you can’t until you’re cleared then you have too…” I kiss him and ...I couldn’t explain how it felt…
“I know...I was joking now let’s read Night shall we?”
“Yes we shall” He opens the book and I move over to give him space to sit next to me and we started reading.
A few weeks later…
I’m strolled out the hospital in a wheelchair and I’m greeted by Mom and my sister.
“Hi.” she runs up and hugs me.
“It’s nice to see you’re okay.” She told me everything about what happened to my mom about how she was arrested and put in a correctional facility where she will spend eight years.
“Sis will you be okay?” Forresta asked
“I will be fine I just need to get back on my feet.”
“And speaking about that I have signed you up for water bending classes so you can defend yourself.”
“Thanks.” I wasn’t really concerned about that all I wanted to see was Sunny, they wheeled me home and when we arrived it seemed very...off…they opened the door.
“SURPRISE!” I see all ,my new friends in the room Lune, Lena, and the rest...but the one I was glad to see was Sunny they all crowded me and I felt loved and wanted...I may have depression still but...It’s nice to know I’m loved.
“Leila here.” he gives me a blue hoofband and a bouquet of roses all the girls went ‘aww’ and I see Penny elbow August who rolled his eyes.
“Thanks.” I kiss him and he blushed.
“I’m glad to see you back Leila” Lune said giving me a hug.
“I’m glad to be back...with all my friends.”
“GROUP HUG!” Theodora yelled and everyone was around me hugging...it felt great...I was loved...I felt found.

It was a joy to write this...even if I still and others suffer from depression...we are still loved...and we can be found...even if we don't want to and we haven't yet.
