Sympathy for a timegriffon
Previous ChapterThe Doctor and Derpy had slowed from a gallop to a trot after about a mile in as they realized they do not want all of Ponyville following them into the Everfree.
This also allowed them to find some things out.
Aparently, Pinkie has gotten another one of her doozys. And Twilight, in a similar fashion as they found a sonic screwdriver, had found a portrait.
The doozy happened when the first energy spikes occurred. The portrait appeared a few hours later.
On top of that, Twilight’s portrait seems to be changing. When she first got it, it just was two humans sitting under a tree. As time went on, the portrait changed, slowly turning them into ponies.
The people in the painting were mostly human, more or less. It’s hard to tell since neither had seen the portrait.
Since Twilight’s painting was the only lead the two had, they decided to give the golden oaks library a visit.
“Hello Twilight.” Derpy said.
“Oh, hay Derpy. Need another cookbook for your ongoing debate with Pinkie again?”
“No, not this time.” Said Derpy letting the Doctor in.
“Hello Twilight. I’m Time Turner and I would like to see this painting of yours.”
Twilight was skeptical about letting a stranger look at the mysterious portrait.
“Uhh…”
“Maybe this will help.” Said the Doctor, showing her the psychic paper.
“Well… If you’re an expert on this sort of thing… Then go right ahead.”
And with that. Twilight had taken them to the fireplace where she left the painting.
“I’ll be in the other room if you need me.”
When she left the Doctor scanned the painting with the sonic.
“It’s somehow tied to five universes’, including the center of the anomaly!”
Derpy had only one question. “If there are five universes’ tied to the painting, why are there only two ponies?”
“I have a hunch, but will need to head back to the TARDIS to find out.”
After saying goodbye to Twilight and giving her some vague information, they went on their way to the TARDIS.
While on the way, they were able to pick up on some rumours that say that all the princess' have felt something around the same time as the energy spikes. but nopony knew what it was.
So that was a dead end to their investigation, and for that matter the rumours.
So they made it to the everfree unfollowed.
Once there they made it to the clearing where they left the TARDIS and made their way inside.
Once inside the Doctor put the black screwdriver in a port on the dashboard.
Once placed the screwdriver activated revealing its claws that were hidden inside its chassis.
The Doctor and Derpy went over to a nearby monitor to learn what they can about it.
Here is what they saw.

/T/END OF REPORT
Derpy and the Doctor couldn’t believe what they were reading.
“Doctor… Do you know this Gavros?”
“I don’t think so… But from the feeling I’m getting I think a different me might have.”
“Why does it say Earth?”
The Doctor was wondering that too earth was back at his universe, and it was not being affected by the energy spikes. Unless…
The Doctor turned another monitor so the two can see both screens at the same time.
“The data collected was from the internal storage, if we scan it’s recorded movement’s, we can discover where this Gavros has been!”
The Doctor typed the correct command into the console to get that data.

The Doctor couldn't believe it. These recorders were designed to handle universe to universe changes without getting corrupted.
But then he realized that the last location, the unknown. Seems to be corrupted from an outside source. Like something didn't want to be found. And they corrupted the log just to make sure no one ever found them again.
That put a monkey wrench of sorts in the works. The Doctor couldn’t find out anything as it was, making things difficult.
“Come on, Doctor we can try to figure it out tomorrow for now… Lets head back to Ponyville.” Said Derpy, heading out of the TARDIS
“Yeah that sounds good.” Said the Doctor following her.
After an hour of scrapping ideas we finally gave up for the time being.
Plus there was the problem of the hover tech that Gavros put in failing.
Luckily for me, Gavros got us down safely.
Unluckily for Gavros, they are beyond repair because he messed up.
Although it did bring us halfway there. I’m happy to be back on the ground.
Looks like his bad luck can be in my favor.
You can’t turn bad luck into good luck!
Shut up brain! Why do I even have a sarcastic side now?
“Well it’s dead… Why are you smiling?”
“It’s safer on the ground.”
Gavros face palmed.
“It’s slower as well!”
I was about to say something when I saw a small green flame behind him.
Knowing he would thank me later, I walked up to him and took his hat.
When Gavros returned back into a griffon he was about to take it back when I spoke.
“The flames are now upon you.”
Upon me saying that Gavros stopped and looked at his hat. “Thanks for the save.”
I guess I should explain. When the enchantment on his hat comes into contact with magic it creates green flames, the more magic the more flames. And they do burn, they can cause Gavros minor burns, but it’s his hat that’s in danger. He never did spray it with flame retardant.
I smiled. “Hay don’t mention it, I know how much this hat means to you.”
Gavros smiled. “taloncrafted in the griffon kingdom.”
“Out of the finest wool from Equestria.” I said.
“And the softest silk from Zebrica.”
We both laughed at our ability to remember exactly how we got this hat made.
I sighed. “*Your last companion enchanted it so it made you human when you wore it.”
“But she did said enchantment in the TARDIS where magic is too scarce to power the enchantment.”
“So she added a sort of magic battery to keep it working in a low magic environment.”
“She never thought about what happens to a magic battery when in a high magic environment.”
“A magic fire.”
“Like pumping high voltage through a rechargeable battery.”
“It’s going to end badly for your head, and will incinerate your hat.” I said as I put said hat away in a closet for later use.
“But I can’t get rid of the enchant.”
Anyone who’s played skyrim will know what he’s talking about.
I looked to him.
“I know you miss her. But you had her leave for a good reason.”
“Having one companion is hard, but having five is even worse!”
Gavros had five companions all at the same time. Three ponies of each tribe, a changeling, and a griffon.
All died, except one, the unicorn.
Like the tenth after Donna left. Gavros couldn’t take it, but for him it was a lot worse. he had the unicorn leave. But not before he let her give one last gift.
“Its all thats left to remember her by.”
“I know. Come on lets find out more we still got…” I looked to the GPS.”... Four hours till Chicago!”
Before sitting down I made sure my tail was not in the way before sitting down…
“YOW!” I pinched something on my back.
“You got your wings by the looks of things.” Gavros said with a smug grin.
I took off my shirt to see my new wings which I didn’t notice form.
”Any tips?”
“Yeah, don’t go flying until you’re fully me.”
Now that I understood that fact, I went into the kitchen got a knife, cut two holes in my shirt and one in my pants, for my wings and tail respectively.
Once in my newly fixed clothes, I came back to ask Gavros a question.
“How long do I have?”
He gave me a scan with the sonic. “I don’t know. You seem to be slowing down.”
“Does that me-”
He shook his head.
“Your transformation time is fluctuating like a timelord’s regeneration. I can’t give an exact reading on how long it will take.”
That basically means that it’s slowing for now. But it could speed back up again at any point.
“Alright, let’s say it stays relatively put, when will the next change be?”
“Around three miles from when we get there.”
“Then lets use that time wisely!”
“Granted, that’s a rough estimate that does not take into account any fluctuations. So we could not see one till tomorrow, or we could see one in a minute.”
This is going to be a long four hours.
