Quill Lines was curled up contently on her new plush red sofa, enjoying the tranquil silence of her new house. She’d moved to Manehattan at last but immediately, when the first chance presented itself, chosen a house on the borders of the city. While she had hated Ponyville, she couldn’t deny the little town did appreciate silence and a good lie in. Quill’s golden fur, red mane and tail were rather scruffy at the time, but her white quill cutie mark was still visible, her blue eyes rather droopy. She had hoped life would get better and sure enough if had, with the story of Sine her story had exploded in popularity and she was now a respected journalist and Manehattan took great, smug, pride in saying she was one of their employee’s… Yet the golden mare had left something behind in Ponyville.
It happened often whenever her mind lingered on the story, like many times before, Sine’s deep blue and black spotted tail wrapping around her body and constricting, the cute little blush she had forced out of him always made her smile… But it also made her heart race. Quill drew patterns on the cushions with her hoof as she re-lived, for the countless time, the whole encounter. Finally there was a slight pang of guilt from what she had said as she left the lamia
“I’ll visit again, promise.” Quill hadn’t visited Sine. It had been almost a month; she had simply been too busy with her new life to find time to return. Now she finally had a short week off but couldn’t seem to find her courage.
Quill lines looked across the wall at the paper cut out she kept, a picture of Sine… She sighed deeply sliding around on the chair and standing up, walking up to the picture. It was the one she’d taken before leaving; Sine appeared to be peacefully sleeping. The article had been used to show lamias weren’t as bad as they appeared (Though most ponies still didn’t go hunting for them) the picture made Quill feel guilty for leaving the lamia for a month, she tapped her right hoof against the floor and almost imagined the lamia’s fading voice
“Do you want another HUG Quill?” Sine’s grin flashed across her mind’s eye and Quill tilted her head down, before nodding
“I’ll need to get a train.” She mumbled to herself.
Quill lightly packed some food and a few comforts, but also her pad, quill and old, now rather beaten, camera… Old habits die hard. Quill was sat waiting for the next train to Ponyville, there she would find her old house then follow the path that had polluted her mind for so long, a thought that ended with him. Quill’s face flushed slightly thinking about Sine and she absentmindedly twirled her quill in her hooves as the little train slowly puffed into the station. The train was large bright and purple unlike most which were generally quite consistent in their colouring and shaping. The driver moved away from the heart shaped window, the carriage directly behind the main train, likely for the fuel, looked like an oddly coloured and iced cake and the carriages for passengers looked like bread loafs with melted icing. The Ponyville express the cutest train on the tracks, and Quill’s ride home.
Quill stood up as the driver called from the train window
“All aboard to Ponyville!” and popped his head back inside. Quill chose a random carriage and, after showing her ticket, pushed her way on board
“How long will it last, Bolt?” Quill was surprised to find two passengers who had yet to get off, as if waiting for the grounds to clear
“I don’t know, but don’t worry it’ll last the day I’m sure.” The pair of ponies began walking towards the door. Quill might have dismissed them, had she not seen the mare. The stallion appeared normal, dark blood red with a short spiky brown mane and tail with a red streak in them and dark blue eyes. He had part of his left ear missing and a lightning bolt crossed with a chef’s knife. He had a pair of saddle bags on and a golden bracelet on his right hoof with the image of a small snake imprinted in, despite it all being one colour it was easy to see. The stallion looked back at his companion after noticing Quill
“Glasses on.” He whispered, Quill just hearing.
The bright white unicorn had a red mane that fell down to either side of her shoulders, her cutie mark was a ruby made of snake scales and she had oddly pointed ears and purple eyes, she was also wearing a golden bracelet on her front right hoof identical to her friend’s. However what was strange was the fact that she appeared to be walking oddly and her actual eyes. Before she put on a dark pair of sunglasses Quill could have sworn they were slitted like a snakes. But before she could pursue the pair had escaped the train, the stallion, Bolt, looking a little stressed. Quill wondered if a story had just walked by when she slapped herself mentally
“I’m visiting Sine, I’m on holiday, get it together Quill.” Quill scolded herself and pulled out a book for the long journey.
Sine lay within his cave, curled up, he was resting upon his own comfortable tail that spanned the great room. The great lamia had grown a little since he had last seen Quill… And his tail had been untested as well. It had been quite a long time since Sine had been visited. His tail was cold and slightly restless at not having anything to squeeze. How long had it been since the curious little journalist had visited? A month at least and she had promised she would visit again. Sine turned over leaning into his coils and growling, she’d lied to him… But then she had thought he was asleep so he hadn’t threatened her to return. Sine rolled onto his back again and stared up. Had he done something to scare her and the memory had popped back in frightening her away… Well he had strangled her but… He hadn’t done any damage. Sine groaned holding his head, why did he care? She was just a mare. The sudden thought of Quill’s lips on his made Sine grin and blush, a rather cute mare. But then he returned to being annoyed that she hadn’t visited yet.
Quill Lines finally heard the call for Ponyville station and sighed, it had been such a long train ride, or at least it felt as such. However when Quill departed from the train she found it just the same, Princess Twilight’s castle poking over the top, the multi-coloured cottages beaming with light under its protective wings, ponies wandering about chatting idly. Really the town wasn’t that bad until you stepped into the printing building. Quill, however, wasn’t focused on any of this. She made her way rapidly to her old apartment, a small little thing that wasn’t really eye catching to anypony not looking for it, but it showed the start of her journey. Quill turned and stared at the familiar looking forest, she had a flash of an image of Sine lying, with his hooves folded under his chin, on his tail grinning at her. The thought made her blush but she moved towards the imaginary picture either way.
Sine groaned before stretching out his tail, he was going to see if he could catch a low flying Pegasi just to have something to squeeze. His tail rippled at the idea of a pony within them and Sine grinned then froze. He took a slow sniff then darted his tongue out. He knew that smell
“Sine? Are you home?” Sine’s body became slightly rigid. She had the nerve to come back after all? After so long? Sine growled softly but grinned darkly. Seemed his tail would be getting something to squeeze after all. And with that thought, Sine slid silently down a passage to the dim light that was likely Quill.
Quill had managed to stick to the path, which she had relived so much she could almost walk it blindly at night if needed, despite all the odd noises. She knew once she reached Sine’s cave nothing would pursue her… Nothing that wouldn’t be dealt with at least. Quill finally found the large dark entrance that was Sine’s cave, she pulled out a lamp, having left the other one in Sine’s cave long ago, and lit it stepping within. What had she expected? That the great serpent would bear down on her immediately and coil her up, squeeze her and hold her helpless, like so long ago? Perhaps he was sleeping, did she dare wake him? He could be mad with how long she took to get back she didn’t need to make him angrier. Taking a deep breath, Quill steeled her nerves and called out
“Sine? Are you home?” Her voice echoed and Quill listened for a reply.
Just when Quill was about to call again she heard something shuffling and the soft voice of Sine spoke from the darkness
“Quill?” Quill turned to face the sound and saw his glowing red eyes. She had figured this often meant he was angry and shifted nervously as a result
“O-oh, hi Sine. Bad time? I’m sorry.” She whispered
“Why did it take you so long to return?” Sine’s voice was dangerous but he hadn’t learnt to hide his pain
“I didn’t mean to Sine, I’m sorry. Life was just really busy.” Quill took several steps forward and Sine’s pony body and a little of his snake appeared in the light “But I’m here now.” Quill said
“You know I’m angry… And you shouldn’t make a snake mad.” Sine threatened with a devilish grin. But Quill walked calmly up to the lamia setting the lamp and her bag down as she did so
“I know how to calm you down.” Quill said and she bravely stepped up to Sine.
Quill kept eye contact with Sine who blinked confused. Quill then jumped onto her rear hooves and grabbed Sine around the neck pulling him close, so that his nose pressed up against hers. Sine’s eyes changed from red to green immediately and he began to blush as well, Quill giggled and Sine frowned
“What’s so funny?” He asked
“Oh just the way you reacted, it’s cute, you know?” Quill said “Hay,” Quill whispered and Sine looked back at her as she whispered “How flexible is your tongue, can you wrap it around mine?” Sine mumbled something incoherent then pushed her back, his tail descending.
Quill was wrapped up in a single coil, her head poking out of the top as several more coils braced under her cocoon to keep her in the air. Quill grinned at Sine as he appeared, still slightly red faced
“You know I missed being able to coil my tail around you. It has been a while since anypony has visited,” Sine placed his hooves on his tail grinning down at Quill “I hope you know I won’t hold back just because I know you.” He whispered
“Oh I don’t mind,” Quill leaned as far forward as she could towards the lamia “But next time you want to feel up my body with your tail just ask, ‘kay?” She asked winking and grinning at Sine.
Sine had no form of reply and to stop Quill’s laughter his tail tightened, and he sighed, the sound coming out hiss-like, at the familiar enjoyment of squeezing a pony. Sine’s tail pressed into Quill restricting her breathing a little, however the golden mare simply rested her head against Sine’s tail and smiled at him
“Stop smiling.” He whispered
“Why? I’m not hurting anypony, least of all you.” Sine began to tighten his tail and Quill’s breath became faster, a little frantic and she couldn’t beat back her natural panic and her voice became gradually quieter “You know Sine, over the,” Quill took a shaky breath, her lungs were being squeezed into pancakes “Over the month, since we met, I’ve often though back to our meeting. I always,” A bit tighter, her voice was lower than a whispered but Sine still got every word “I always wanted to come back… To be held by you, strangled by you again… I always wanted to say…” Sine tightened a little too far and Quill choked, tapping her hoof against Sine’s tail as her head tilted back, her face was turning purple and her eyes rolled into her head.
“Sine… Too tight… Breaking ribs… Stop…” Quill choked with the tiny amount of air she could muster. All at once Sine’s tail loosened and Quill began to cough attempting to recover her breathing, even as Sine began to tighten around her again
“What did you want to say?” Sine asked smirking slightly at the gasping Quill, but the smile fell away as Quill couldn’t look him in the eyes; from clear embarrassment. Sine’s tail loosened and his tail tip curled around raising Quill’s chin up to look at him “What did you want to say?” Sine repeated. Quill mumbled something and Sine leaned closer, and he got a surprise. In a single swift moment Quill leaned forward planting her lips on Sine’s. She leaned forward further as he attempting to escape closing her eyes. Finally Sine actually leaned back in, Quill could almost imagine a cute comical heart radiating form the pair of them. Quill leaned back and opened her eyes. Sine’s eyes were growing red but he was still blushing
“I wanted to say; I think I might have a crush on you...” Quill smirked at her crude pun and Sine groaned shaking his head.
“It’s not a joke though.” Quill said smiling at Sine
“You… Fancy me?” Sine asked slowly, Quill nodded “Why?”
“Because whilst you act like a deadly snake, you’re nothing but a cute little tame puppy at heart…” Quill leaned close “And a real perv, pressing your tail into my body.” Sine’s face was changing colour and lighting up red like a firework so often it was like an oddly coloured traffic light
“You’ll be leaving again though, you don’t live in Ponyville, I won’t see you for a while will I.” Sine said it casually as if he didn’t care but his eyes showed the truth. He didn’t want to be left alone. Quill leaned over and looked at him, which was difficult since he still held her completely in his tail
“If you ever want to visit I can tell you where I live and even draw a map.” Quill offered. Sine looked away, staring at a single poorly lit bit of wall. Then his tail slowly receded from around Quill and he held up her bag and lowered his pony half down and picked up the lamp.
Quill lay down on Sine’s tail, gently running a hoof along his thick muscly coils as she waited for him to bring the lamp. Sine froze, his whole tail quivering at Quill’s gentle touch, she was driving him crazy. Sine held the lamp over Quill who sat up and began to doodle on a scrap piece of paper she ripped off her notepad, sometimes writing, in fancy slanted writing, instructions. Sine found it amazing how Quill could use her hoof to draw and write so neatly… He’d never learnt really. Finally Quill beckoned for him sit beside her and he did. Quill leaned towards Sine, almost leaning against him and forced him to bow his head next to hers, uncomfortably close… Or maybe not. Quill explained where she lived in Manehattan, about a little memorial and how to follow it to her home
“So… Are you going to go now?” Sine asked when she finished
“Do you want me to leave?” Sine shook his head “You don’t like being lonely do you.” Quill whispered
“It’s not that I just like having somepony to squeeze.” Sine said
“I won’t leave you alone, you can keep me as close as you want.” Quill whispered stretching out, very cat-like, on Sine’s tail.
Sine stared down at Quill who looked up at him, smiling quizzically
“You’re offering to let me squeeze you?” Quill nodded “What if I don’t want to squeeze you… What if I want something else?” Quill raised herself up slightly from her lying position
“What do you want?” She asked. Sine tapped his hooves together
“Can you… Stroke my tail again?” He whispered looking away. Sine heard Quill giggle, an odd sound from the mare considering his presence, but the thought drifted away as Quill’s hooves pressed into Sine’s muscular tail. Quill marvelled at Sine’s tail armour, his scales were so strong, running along his tail like natural steel, yet they were flexible, giving the illusion they were soft, but she knew that could be used for force easily. Quill watched Sine, he was attempting to keep a straight face but his tail was happily leaning into Quill’s hooves. Quill smiled lying down on Sine’s tail and running her hooves down both sides, and nuzzling Sine’s tail. Sine gasped finally looking at Quill, who glanced at him from the side of her left eye and grinned
“You enjoying yourself?” She asked.
Sine blinked then curved his tail so Quill rolled down his tail onto another segment, which quickly curled around her, pinning her front hooves to her side and keeping her rear hooves pointed down
“Oh, so we’re going back to the squeezing now?” In answer to Quill’s question, Sine’s tail began to contract around the little mare who gasped, the air within her lungs being forced out. Quill rested her forehead against Sine’s cool scales as her breathing became more difficult, she felt light headed and oddly tired. Sine loosened his tail and the light headed feeling faded, Quill raised her head a little to look at Sine
“I liked it more the first time, when you struggled.” He hinted.
Quill got the message, and as Sine began to squeeze her again, tighter, she attempted with all her might to move, kicking her hooves around and trying to wriggle. The fact she didn’t so much as twitch reminded her of her helpless situation, though it was oddly addicting. However Quill’s train of thought began to fade as Sine reached the point where Quill’s face began to change colour. Quill began to choke and her eyes shrank as natural instinct made her panic
“S-Sine… Loosen…” Quill didn’t have enough air to finish and let out a soft moan as her head rolled forward.
Sine grinned at Quill’s soft begging then froze. The tiny fluttering against her chest had… Stopped. Sine glanced at Quill who had her head rolled forward and he cried out, his tail curling away, in his haste almost dropping her, so Quill almost lay on Sine’s tail like a bed. She didn’t stir and Sine leaned in, panic fluttering in his mind
“I killed her, oh sweet Celestia, I killed her!” Was the only thought coming to Sine’s brain, then Quill took a sudden, odd, raspy breath and began to cough.
Sine made a weird sound of relief and hugged Quill, much to the golden mare’s confusion
“W-what happened…?” Quill gasped
“Nothing… You just… Passed out.” Sine lied as Quill leaned against his tail. Staring at her made Sine realise just how fragile the little pony was… Yet he’d squeezed tighter than that with most ponies… Sine raised Quill up a little to look at her and the recovering mare didn’t protest at all
“I’m sorry.” Sine whispered. Quill, having steadied her breathing at last, looked up at Sine
“What for, I’m the pony who wandered into your home so foolishly.” She said with a slight smile as she lay down against his tail, her eyes drooping slightly, Sine’s large tail raising and lowering all around as he breathed was comforting.
“…Mind if I have a little something to eat?” Sine whispered
“Huh… Wait what?” Quill mumbled attempting to sit up but Sine pushed her down, the start of his snake half that joined to his pony half pinning Quill down “Er, Sine what are you doing?” Quill asked slightly nervous
“Just having a little bite to eat.” He mumbled and Quill gasped. Sine was tracing his fangs slowly down and around her neck as if looking for something
“S-Sine don’t…”
“Please try not to talk if makes it difficult.” And with that Sine bit into Quill’s neck, who gave an odd cry before falling silent, heeding her friends warning.
It was a curious sensation, Quill had always thought of ponies kissing and biting each other’s necks as a loving thing, not something somepony did to eat. But Sine was doing just that, she could physically feel the blood leaving her body but it wasn’t even slightly painful. It wasn’t very comfortable though, Sine had tilted her head at an angle and she was beginning to get cramp
“He’s making cute little slurping noises like a foal drinking through a straw.” Quill noticed, now tapping her hooves against Sine’s tail.
Sine eventually pulled back slowly, having drunk his fill and, immediately after his fangs left her neck, Quill almost passed out. She hadn’t realised just how much blood he’d taken and the sudden realisation her body was having was overwhelming
“You okay?” Sine’s voice sounded odd, rising and lowering in volume as if Quill’s hearing was an oddly tuned radio
“Nuh… Em, I’m okay.” Quill’s voice sounded weird even to herself
“It’s alright, it’s always strange the first time, you’ll be okay maybe a little tired.” Quill nodded
“Why did you… Bite me?” She asked slowly, her mouth oddly sticky to open, as if it didn’t want to work
“I drink the blood of ponies and many other creatures, I only eat non-sentient creatures… Or ponies that make me really angry.” Sine said
“You drink… Blood?” Quill smirked as her eyes half closed “My name is count Sinula, I vant to suck your blood!” Quill giggled and Sine chuckled
“One, yes one, cute mare falling asleep on my coils, Aha-aha-aha!” Sine said copying the accent Quill had used and the lamia grinned at Quill as her eyes fully closed.
Sine smirked tilting Quill’s unresisting head up so he could look at her. She was slightly pale, but considering she’d lost so much blood so rapidly it was understandable, he was going to miss her when she left. Sine shifted his tail and heard the sound of paper being crumpled, looking down the little map Quill had drawn lay half under Sine’s giant tail. He slid down and picked up the neatly written map then looked back at Quill. A small smile spread across his lips and he curled his tail back around the small golden mare, who made an odd cooing sound in her sleep, nuzzling Sine’s tail.
Sine carried Quill a little above the ground beside him as he trekked through the, now dark, Everfree, the little mare’s fire red hair and golden fur were only just visible over her scaly sleeping bag but anypony noticing Sine would be less focused on the mare and more on the lamia himself. Slowly the forest began to break away and Sine could see the abrupt change to grassland and the little cottages and buildings marking Ponyville, like odd twinkling stars that had fallen to the ground. The sight made Sine feel oddly sickly, knowing he could never go there without being beaten back out. Sine sighed sadly as he lowered Quill down and took shelter in the shadows from Luna’s moon. Quill hadn’t so much as stirred during their travels, colour had returned to her face, but she continued to snooze, occasionally attempting to shift in Sine’s tail but failing, she really was quite cute like that.
Sine lay down directly behind Quill’s visibly sleeping head and was content to watch Ponyville. Sine only looked down when Quill sighed and Sine’s eyebrows raised in surprise, he had been absentmindedly stroking the top of Quill’s head, similar to stroking a dog’s head, and Quill was obviously enjoying it in dreamland. Sine pretended not to notice what his hoof was doing without his consent and instead watched as Luna’s moon rapidly moved across the sky
“Dawn.” Sine mumbled to nopony in particular. The sky began to turn deep orange, and the first warm rays of daylight hit Sine’s large tail, warming his whole body.
There was a soft groan from Sine’s tail, sunlight was shining directly onto Quill’s face, and before Sine could shield her eyes, the little mare had opened her eyes, groaning
“W-where am I?” Quill groaned. Sine grinned propping himself up on his tail and whispered directly into Quill’s ear, the mare tensing as he attempted to mask his voice
“You are in hell, my dear. Your large snake friend ate you and you died in your sleep, and now you shall live that experience forever again and again, slowly burning away in his belly! Aha-aha-aha!” Quill blinked, then proceeded to try and kick Sine
“Sine, you prat! Don’t scare me like that!” She cried as the blue lamia burst into laughter “Is this where we say goodbye?” Quill whispered.
Sine’s laughter died away immediately and, in silence, the lamia lowered Quill to the ground, lowering himself to stand before her. Sine pulled out the small paper map Quill had drawn for him to follow
“Mind if I visit?” He asked
“Of course, it’s why I drew it after all.” Quill said with a gentle smile. Sine blinked staring down at the map thinking
“You’re a strange mare.” He finally said
“You’re a strange creature for a pony to hang out with.” Quill said and Sine smiled
“Make sure you visit soon,” Quill leaned up and gently pressed her lips to Sine’s as his face glowed “I’ll be waiting.” Quill said swishing her tail as she turned and ran off giggling at Sine’s face, who slowly raised a hoof to his lips and smiled.
