Well... I don't really know where to start, I picked up this journal at the store and still have no idea how to use one!" I chuckled to myself, at myself actually. In the background I heard the familiar tune that all Bronies know and love, winter wrap up. I continued with my passage in the journal, in no real hurry to watch the episode.
I should probably tell you who I am. My name is Joshua Callum Gammell. was born in England and raised in Wales. (That tiny smudge on the right of England for all you American folks.) Decent build, Black hair, Brown eyes, Sight slightly impaired and I also suffer from OCD.
"I bumped into Jordan again today. Apparently, him and his girlfriend were getting married. He invited me but I had to decline, I was due to go to Bronycon on the same date. The look on his face was heart breaking. How could I call myself a brony and still leave my friend on his wedding day."
Sighing I mumbled to myself.
"I didn't feel like writing today anyway" And with that I drifted to sleep, until I woke up to the sound of a skype message.
Looking at my laptop, I saw I had 20 Skype messages and 6 missed phone calls all from the same person. My friend Joe.
Picking up my laptop I replied.
Dalek718: Joe?
Squidgeyoda: Fina-fucking-ly!
Dalek718: What was so urgent?
Squidgeyoda: I don't know what's going on outside... Have you seen it?
Dalek718: Seen what?
Squidgeyoda: The storm dude, it's like nothing I've ever seen before
Dalek718: Wow you got worked up over some bad weather?
Squidgeyoda: Josh listen, something is off about that storm, everyone I've seen get close, hasn't come back.
Dalek718: Ugh... Fine brb.
sometimes I question that guys sanity
Walking up to the window I saw what Joe was having a hissy fit over. for right in the center of the sky, covered in clouds, was a swirling cyan light.
"Holy shit" I blurted out stupidly.
Going back to my pc, I opened back up my Skype,
Dalek718: What is that?
Squidgeyoda: I don't have a clue,
Dalek718: gee that's helpful.
Squidgeyoda: hey, no need to get sarcastic!
Dalek718: yeah, your right, sorry.
Squidgeyoda: It's alright, don't scare me like that though.
Dalek718: I'm going to check it out. you coming with me?
Squidgeyoda: This is suicide you know.
Dalek718: Maybe, maybe not.
Squidgeyoda: Fine but don't expect anymore favors after this,
Dalek718: Ok meet me by the community center,
Squidgeyoda: Will do,
half an hour later
"Oh, here he is" I said as Joe jogged from the top of the hill,"What kept you?"
"Sorry *pant* getting equipment." He replied motioning to his bag,
"When I said check it out, I didn't mean bring the military gear." I replied frustrated
"I'm gonna let that statement go over my head, this once" He shot back,and with that we started walking down the abandoned road. Our destination? Underneath the spiraling mass of light.
We passed many houses most of which were abandoned, although those who stayed behind were looking at us as if we were crazy.
We walked for several more blocks until we were where we wanted to be. The only thing was I didn't realize the air light thing was sending out blasts of energy.
"Joe, do what you gotta do but don't dwindle" I said, looking up to the sky in caution,
"Calm down would ya,these bolts don't look too deadly" He said unzipping his bag.
"What even is that thing you have there" I asked as he pulled out some form of measurement device.
"This little baby counts the amount of energy that comes off of a source and tells me exactly what it is and how much of it their is."
"wow, working for an institute of technology has its perks eh?"I said nervously
"yeah it really... hang on," He said suddenly falling quiet
"What? what is it" I asked, When I looked into his eyes I saw confusion, quickly followed by fear.
"My god, we should have never have come here" He said in a state of panic "Good lord, Look at these readings!"
Looking over to the device I saw three words that filled me with dread, Dimensional displacement energy, now I'm no scientist but that sounds bad...real bad.
"Joe! what do we do?" I asked getting ready to run.
"Nothing" he said bluntly.
"Huh?" I said confused.
"We're already in the dimensional field. If my theory is correct, are you feeling light headed?" he asked
"Well now that you mention it, I do feel slightly dizzy" I said
Suddenly all strength in my legs gave out and I fell to the floor, in the corner of my eye I saw Joe fall to the floor, But I was more interested in the glowing energy beam heading right for me, I braced for impact and fell unconscious.
Darkness and lots of it, where the hell am I, Hello? anyone here?

I slowly opened my eyes, and instantly regretted it.
"ARG, too bright" I said through gritted teeth.
"Well it looks like your up, that's good." I heard a mysterious voice say.
I managed to open my eyes and looked around, taking note that I was in a hospital,
"Over here on your right,"I heard the voice say.
Looking over I saw a middle aged man with brown hair and green eyes. He wore a smile that seemed to welcome me to this hospital room,
"They found you and your buddy knocked out in a field not far from here. Before you ask yes, He's fine, He's just sleeping in the other bed.
I'm Brian by the way, pleasure to meet you Mister..." He trailed off,
"Gammell, Josh Gammell," I held out my hand to him to shake it but that was when I noticed I was hooked up to an IV, the funny thing is, Brian was hooked up to the same IV. He must have seen the confusion on my face or read my mind because He told me that the hospital was out of A+ blood (my blood type) because they hardly use it, it turns out I had lost a lot of blood so Brian offered some of his blood for me to have, and it just so happens our blood was a match. This man I had just met had saved my life.
"Thank you brain." I said to him"If there's anything you ever need-" I was cut off
"Don't worry about it, you don't owe me anything, all I did was stick a needle into my arm." He said
At that moment I heard movement on my left.
"Ow..that hurts,why does it feel like I was hit by a train?"Joe said absentmindedly.
"He's awake! praise the lord!"I said jokingly.
"So anyway tell me about yourself, Josh" Brian said adjusting what position he was lying in.
I spent the next half hour telling Brian of my past. From living in a foster family to leaving at age 18.
"That's quite a story, what about your friend over there?" He said leaning over and pointing to Joe, but as He leaned over, I saw something in his eye, nothing evil but the look of a man trying to hide something,
"Uh...Brian?"I asked, he looked over to me."Are you hiding something from us?"
"What? me? no! never! not in a million years!" He replied, obviously lying through his teeth
"Ok then, Brian, please tell us exactly where we were found."I said trying to keep my cool.
"Not that far from the Everfree." He replied, but the look on his face showed he instantly regretted that. I chuckled.
"Good one. for a second there, I thought you said Everfree" I said laughing.
"He did" I heard a familiar gentle voice, turning my head I saw there staring at me was the leader of Equestria herself, Princess Celestia.
I Quickly bowed most of my body towards her out of respect.
"Your highness," I said stupidly, That's when I realized that Joe had been awfully quiet .
Celestia giggled slightly at my comment, "So even humans that didn't raise a pony know of this world. "She said seemingly to no one.
"Wait, princess of the sun in front of me, Brain Dash on my right" Now it was Brian's turn to be shocked "Using this information I can deduce that I am in Equestria. "I said.
"Yes Josh, I already figured that out," I heard Joe say. Turning around I saw that Joe was surrounded by medical curtains.
"Um.. Princess, Is it alright if I get up?" My response was a nod of agreement.
Getting up proved to be more of a challenge than I first thought. But once I was stabilized I walked towards the curtains.
"Joe, you alright?" I asked as I got closer.
"Don't come in here" He replied urgently, I glanced back to Brian and Celestia, They both nodded for me to continue,
"I'm coming in" I said pulling the curtain slightly to allow me to access the inside.
"Joe?" I asked the pile of bed sheets in front of me..
"In here" A voice came from the pile of bed sheets. I pulled them down and was blown away.
"Joe? is that you?" I asked the grass green pony in front of me.
"Who else would it be? Greenie mc Irish?" he said with a smile.
I was lost for words.
"How did this happen?" I asked.
"I think I should take this one" A brown pony with an hour glass cutie mark answered. "Your friend here was found in a near death situation. Our only option was to change his physical body with an ability of yours truly." he said proudly.
"Yeah, yeah we get it, you can regenerate, so what?" I said with a hint of impatience.
"Thanks to my regeneration abilities and a little help from your friendly neighbourhood princess, We changed his body to that of a pony" He said.
"Well thanks doc," Joe said looking over his new body "If it wasn't for you, I could have died."
"It is my duty as a Timelord and a doctor, but mostly a Timelord." He replied beaming proudly.
"Not to sound impatient or anything but when can we check out of here, hospitals always give me the chills" I asked.
"You can leave right away if you feel fine to do so" he said.
good the sooner the better, I just wish Celestia would do that to me
"Also Josh?" princess Celestia started.
"Yes princess?" I replied.
"It will take while for me to gather the energy again but I will" She replied with a knowing smile.
"How did you know what I was thinking" I asked blown away.
She smiled "Magic" she replied.
I walked through the hospital doors and took a deep breath.
"Well time to start my new life" I said out loud. I started my decent down the stairs but as soon as I got off at the bottom I was instantly knocked down by a brown fireball.
I looked down and saw a mud brown pony with no cutie mark.
"Are you alright?" I asked him.
"Yeah, yeah I'm fi-"He stopped half sentence and stared at me.
"Are you sure your ok? you're kinda staring at me" I said.
"What? sorry I must of spaced out there." he replied.
"No kidding" I said.
"Sorry it's just I thought Brian was the only human in this world" He said.
"Well He was until a few hours ago" I stated flatly "I'm Josh by the way, Josh Gammell" I held out a hand.
"Forest fire" he said shaking.
WHAT! forest fire? and I thought that being in the my little dashie universe was cool
"Nice to meet you, Mr fire" I said.
"If your going to get to know me there is one thing you should know." He started
"Let me guess... you're really a human called John Smith...after getting fired you sent money from your bosses bank account to charities around the world...your friend Raj gave you an hour and you spent it blowing up your car...you fell into a cave and came across a changeling who gave you passage to this world for a month and if anyone or pony found you out, goodbye forest." I finished his mouth was hanging open,
"now you both are probably wondering. "how do I know this", yes Tutela, I know you're listening, well the answer is quite simple, you are fiction in my world" I stated "much like Brian and Dash and now Tutela, before you tear this pony from everything He loves at this very moment. Remember I didn't figure it out and yet the condition was if anyone was to find out so on a technicality he can stay." Forest looked at me
" you really know a lot about me." he said.
"sorry if I seemed too extravagant but I had to get that off my chest." I replied.
"well, Josh, I was going to tell you I have "amnesia" but clearly you know more about me than anyone else does, so let me be the first to welcome you to the world of Equestria" he said.
And with that we started towards Golden Oaks library
