College is perhaps one of the most terrifying prospects known to Ponykind, aside from lack of magic and modern technology. But to Octavia, college is anything but terrifying, from love to life. One faithful day she finds herself at the university of her dreams, Star Swirl University. Unfortunately things do not go according to Octavia's plans and she is rejected. Octavia, with no where else to go, turns to Vinyl Scratch and her sidekick Dinky for a solution. Good thing Vinyl comes up with a solution that can make her feel better in this time of need. However Vinyl's solution has some..unexpected consequences...Octavia is sure in for quite the surprise indeed!

This is the next story after Time for a gig!, and takes place about a couple of weeks after.
