Take Flight, Chaos Lord Dragon!
A stadium with a crowd as going inside was the world’s largest spectacle. " I got you right where I want you! Attack and destroy his monster!" A dragon being destroyed a monster. "I'm not done yet." A teenage boy said. His hair was well a mess with grey, green in the middle and blue bangs. His coat was loose and his outfit mismatched. "It’s my turn." This person was. "Go get him Kouki Anono." The crowd said at this. The boy drew his card. With a smile as he jumped on the rails. Two pillars of light formed a shadow came with the sun it was a miss matched being. "Go Chaos Lord Dragon!"
Meanwhile, in another dimension a world of talking animals a small meeting was taking place in a real castle. A white Alicorn looked on at a stained glass window. This was Princess Celestia co-ruler of the kingdom of Equestria. The sound finally came as six ponies. Two unicorns, two pegasi, two earth ponies, they were the Elements of Harmony.
"Hello my little ponies, I'm glad that you all could come see me on such short notice," Celestia said with a motherly smile. Twilight and the others gave a quick bow and Twilight gave the solar princess a smile of her own.
"Princess Celestia, we were happy to come see you." Twilight replied happily.
"Yeah, so what did you call us in for this time, Princess?" Rainbow Dash asked as she started to hover in the hallway filled with stained glass windows. "Do you want us to bash some baddy, or something like that?"
"Rainbow Dash, could you please show some tact around the princess?" Rarity asked with a sigh. Princess Celestia chuckled slightly at the young mares' squabbling's. Youth truly was a precious thing.
"There's no need to apologize, Rarity. Now, I have called you here because something strange is happening with Discord's statue." Celestia concluded her expression turning serious.
"What do you mean?" Twilight asked.
"The statue has gone missing however there appears to be a strange... even by his standards, magic where it happened." Celestia said. The six and her, after a while appeared where Discord’s statue was it was gone but a strange energy was felt coming from the site. "We believe that he somehow broke out and escaped to another world." Celestia said. Rainbow Dash was first up.
"Then why don't we just follow him then?" Rainbow Dash asked. Celestia shook her head.
"It’s not that simple, Despite whatever you believe Discord powers was vast me and my sister once foolishly thought that we could stand up to him without the elements.... It ended with him not taking us seriously and winning with little effort on his part, the power needed to break the barriers between dimensions is too much for us." Celestia said.
"Then what do you suggest we do?" Twilight asked, confused.
"As of right now, I want you all to use your Elements of Harmony and help me investigate this energy. We believe that they might help us find a way to track down Discord and hopefully seal him away again before he causes too much trouble." Celestia stated. Twilight thought that over for a moment.
"But Princess Celestia, wouldn't using the Elements on that pure chaos energy have the potential to cause some astronomical consequences.
"Perhaps," Celestia admitted with a nod, "but, a few of my court mages have hypothesized that the two opposing energies could just cancel each other out. And in the end we have to do something. No matter where Discord is we have to make sure that he can't cause any damage." Celestia declared.
The main Six pulled out the six elements of harmony and readied there magic to help out. Unfortunately At that moment the energies started to react in a way that started a vortex. Causing them all to suddenly be sucked in. Around them strange worlds flew by creatures form the worlds seen in confusion, until a blinding light appeared. As the light faded Twilight landed on the ground. Something felt off about her.
Twilight rubbed at her head with what she assumed was her hoof and let out a long groan. She then fluttered her eyes open and saw five strange beings on the ground around her. She let out a quick scream as she craned her head quickly, trying to find her friends.
"Ahh! Girls where are you?!" Twilight asked, starting to panic.
"Geez Twilight, what are ya yelling about?" One of the beings that she now noticed had a rainbow mane like Rainbow Dash, and even sounded like her.
"Rainbow Dash, is that you?" Twilight asked, leaning over to the rainbow haired being.
"Of course I'm Rainbow Dash. What, do you need glasses now or something, Twilight?" The being asked as it turned to face Twilight. The being's eyes contracted and pointed a strange appendage at Twilight.
There was another sound as Celestia stood up she almost collapsed. "I guess whatever happened to us caused us to change." However Fluttershy who was wearing baggy cloths however pointed to a viewing screen on it was something. That something was unknown to them, a duel.
"It’s all over Kouki Anono." (Life Points 300) "You have nothing on your field." Kouki however looked him straight in the eyes. (life points 100).
"I don't think so my draw!" He gave a smile. "I play monster reborn!" The spell card appeared. "Now then I can bring back a monster form the graveyard and lucky for that he was sent there." Kouki held his hands up. "Spread your wings, take flight show the world a new beacon, Special summon Chaos Lord Dragon!" In a flash summoned to the field was a miss match of creatures the being was strangely familiar to the six and Celestia." (ATK 2500 DEF 2000) "Go Chaos Lord Dragon attack his monster and end this, Chaos Burst Stream" The dragon let out a blast of energy. (Opponent Life points 300-0) The monster turned to his wielder and nodded before disappearing.
"Let’s hear it for this duel’s winner Kouki Anono." Celestia looked at his image and for a moment the image of Discord appear over him.
"Girls I believe we may have found what happened to Discord." Celestia said as she crossed her arms under her chest.
"Yeah, but what the hay was all that?" Rainbow Dash asked with a tilt of the head. "I mean, 'Monster Reborn', 'life points'? Did that make sense to anypony, or are we all confused.
Twilight had a bright smile on her face as she chimed in, "Actually Rainbow Dash, I think we just witnessed the end of some sort of card-based strategy game. Each player seems to have a set amount of what they call 'life points' and the objective is to bring those points to 0 using a variety of different cards. This actually sounds interesting. I'd like to get my hooves on some of these cards and a copy of the rules." She explained quickly.
"Thanks egghead that didn't help at all."
Kouki walked right out of the arena. He saw he had a message.
'Kouki hope you get this we be waiting for you.' The message read. It was form a half hour ago. "Crap I knew I shouldn't have waited." He wondered what he should do. "No time." He pulled out his duel disk activating it and turning the solid light on. "Chaos Lord Dragon." He said placing his ace out He jumped on. "Let’s go!" He said. The beast took off. 'Man still can't believe Jason managed to do this.' He said as he took off flying. Somehow Jason managed to hack his duel disk so we could summon his cards at anytime without triggering the new duel rules function.
'Actually, how did Jason do this?' Kouki thought as he continued as he was flying on the back of his duel monster. 'And why does it hurt when these holograms attack our life points directly? Does the duel disk have a sensor in it that stimulates nerve endings? Come to think of it, why would the developers do that? And more importantly, how did they get away with it?' Kouki's mind continued to wander in this way until he came upon where Jason wanted to meet up. Kouki hopped off his Chaos Dragon and turned off his duel disk, causing the monster to shimmer out of existence. Kouki looked around the area and scratched the side of his head. "Alright, now where in the world is Jason supposed to be?"
Kouki flew off to greet his friends. With the displaced ponies they finally got to a library as Twilight could figure out this world however a book caught her eyes. "History of Duel Monsters." She opened it. Duel monsters was very old. The ancient Egyptians played it and there is even cases for to have existed in some way nearly 10,000 years ago! Duel Monsters was finally revived by Maximillian Pegasus who brought it back. Many important people used Duel Monsters, it had grown to the point that culture, politics, and even military used Duel Monsters! The ancient magic and even a few even called it the backbone of the world! It was basically this world’s equivalent of magic! However a sound was heard as they saw Discord (Chaos Lord Dragon) overhead.
"Twilight, are ya seein' what Ah'm seein?" Applejack asked as she gaped at what was going on above them.
"Yes, it looks like finding Discord won't be as hard as we thought," Twilight said, also gaping.
"Hey, it looks like somebody is riding Discord!" Pinkie pointed out as she extended a finger towards Discord.
"Pinkie darling what are you talking about? There's no way that somebody could be..."
"Woohoo!" Kouki cheered as he passed overhead.
"Hey, that was the boy that we saw during that duel," Fluttershy stated.
"You're right Fluttershy, I think we should hurry and follow that boy and find out where exactly he got Discord's card." Celestia stated.
"Okay, and maybe I can ask him about the rules of Duel Monsters." Twilight said with a cheerful smile.
Rainbow dash tossed her a book. "I found it, can't understand it." She said. As they headed off Kouki stopped as he got to the meeting place. It was a sight as he landed and put away his monster. "Wait, do you mean? They left to get me?" Kouki asked. The girl at the counter nodded. The entertainment duelist ran to get his friends. However as he did he heard a voice scream at him. "Hey you stop!" He turned to see the mane six. Kouki blinked.
"Mane six? Where did that come from?’ He asked himself. Celestia however looked him over she could feel the chaos coming from his aura. The card wasn't Discord. 'Impossible.... he is Discord!'
Kouki looked over the six girls and woman over and had to suppress the urge to whistle. Each of them was very attractive. Kouki blinked one more time and gave them his best smile.
"Hello, is there any reason that you stopped me?" He asked maintaining his grin.
"You were the one that just won that duel we saw on the big screen, right?" The girl with purple and pink hair asked.
Kouki's smile grew even wider, "That's right. Oh man, do you want an autograph?!" Kouki cheered as he got in the purple and pink haired girl's face. "I only knew it was a matter of time before I got fans! So, what do you want me to sign? Or do you want some dueling tips? I'm always willing to help out a Duel Monsters enthusiast!" Twilight blinked, not sure what to make of the boy's reaction.
Rainbow Dash decided to get over the awkwardness. "We came here about that card, Chaos Lord Dragon." Kouki blinked.
"Yeah." He moved back a bit at this.
"We need you to give it to us." Rainbow Dash said.
"Why should I?" He asked getting defensive. Twilight moved a bit.
"Please you have to understand." "
"There is no way I'm giving up the last thing I have oh my fathers." He said his aura flared for a moment as Twilight could sense it. It was Chaos magic coming off of him.
"Discord?" She asked.
"Ok I have no idea why you called me that.... also why does it sound familiar.... you know what screw this." He pulled out his duel disk.
"If you want the card then you're gonna have to duel me for it," Kouki declared with a smirk. The girls and Celestia shared an embarrassed look as they didn't know how to respond to the challenge.
"Um, actually we don't, we don't have any cards to duel you with," Fluttershy admitted sheepishly. Kouki nearly fell over at that response. Who were these girls? Just about everyone had a Duel Monsters deck, even people who didn't like the game just in case they needed to settle a dispute without coming to blows.
"What? How can none of you have a deck?" Kouki asked.
"We just don't, so can you just give us that card, or are things gonna have to get ugly?" Rainbow Dash threatened. Kouki started to laugh uproariously at their response.
"I don't know where you girls are from, but here, if you don't have a deck then people are just gonna ignore you, including me. So, see you later, and if you manage to get a deck then you can challenge me for the card then." Kouki then glanced down at his watch and jumped when he saw the time. "Oh Crap! I'm so late! Look, it was really weird meeting you girls, but I've gotta meet up with some friends of mine!" Kouki finished as he turned to rush off.
Activating his duel disk he placed a card and out came cartoony big cat which he jumped up on. "Onward!" He commanded and they were off. The other tried to chase after him. They gave up as they couldn't keep up.
"Great.... so he still has Discords card." Rainbow dash said.
"That card isn't Discord... he is." Twilight said. Everyone but Celestia was caught off guard. Twilight looked at her hands they couldn't check and he wanted to duel. However she tried to see if she could lock on to his aura instead of teleporting a flash happen and in her hands was a duel deck and a duel disk of her main color. She couldn't feel her magic at all however she just found out that Duel monsters was this world’s magic. Kouki was at a bridge and still couldn't find his friends. He sent a message hoping they would get it.
However he heard a familiar voice. "Stop right there." It was those seven and Twilight had a duel disk.
'Ok that’s not creepy.' He told himself still confused as to why he knew her name.
"Ya know," Kouki started with a sigh while he rubbed the side of his head, "when I said I'd duel you if you got a deck, I didn't mean for you to steal one and a duel disk." Twilight flushed at that comment and started trembling with anger.
"We did not steal these! We got them through honest methods!" Twilight seethed. Kouki sighed one more time.
"Fine, I'll buy that for now. We'll duel for this card," he said as he held up the Chaos Lord Dragon, "but if I win you all are gonna tell me who you are exactly. How does that sound?"
"Fine," Twilight huffed, "if that's what it takes." Twilight declared as she fumbled with her duel disk.
'Oh man, this is gonna be too easy,' Kouki thought with a chuckle. He started to shuffle his deck and shot Twilight a smirk.
"Just so you know, I won't be holding back." He told her as he watched her parrot his shuffling.
"Good, I would hate to win because you got cocky," Twilight said, trying her hand at trash talk.
"Let’s duel!" The both said. Twilight 4000 Kouki 4000. Kouki went first.
"My turn... I summon Juggling Jester in attack mode." He said as a jester appeared with two bowling pins and took a bow. (ACK 1400, DEF 800) "I place one card face down and end my turn. It was Twilight’s turn. She looked over her five cards. One of them raised her eyebrow It was a spell card but had her Element of harmony.
"I go and Summon Mystic Librarian in attack mode." She said. A monster appeared with a wand and book in hand. (ATK 1400 DEF 100) "Due to its effect I can add a spell card form my deck to my hand." She did and soon activated it. "I activate Book of Advanced Magics by equipping this to my librarian she gains 500 attack." The book appeared in her hands. "Now attack that jester. The jester was destroyed
However the pins flew around. When they landed on her spell card they destroyed it.Houki (4000-3500)
"When my jester is destroyed I can destroy one spell or trap card on your field and draw one card." He smiled. "Next I activate my trap Hidden twist, when I draw a card outside my draw phase if it’s a monster I can summon it." He did and had a smile. "Come on out Disordered Knight!" he said. "Atk 2100 DEF 1700)
Twilight gulped, she should've paid more attention to the Jester's affect. She shook her head, she had to get that card. Actually, if the card wasn't really Discord, did she need to get the card? Maybe talking to Kouki was the best option. In the end, Twilight decided to just do her best to win the duel, getting the card away from Kouki/Discord was probably the best idea. Kouki cleared his throat loudly to try and get Twilight's attention.
"I don't mean to be rude or anything, but I still have to meet up with my friends after this so unless you're gonna do something else, could you end your turn or something. This got Twilight's attention and she looked over her remaining cards.
"I play one card face down and end my turn," Twilight stated. Kouki nodded and drew his next card.
He looked at it. It was a pendulum monster. He looked at her. "Go Disordered Knight attack her mystic Librarian!" The knight charged and destroyed the monster. (Twilight 4000-33000) "Thats not all my monster effect actives, if he destroyed your monster you got to send one card in your hand to the graveyard so I picked the one to the far left!" Kouki said. Twilight looked at it. Actually given her face down. She sent it to the graveyard. "I place one card face down your turn." Twilight drew. "I active my trap card mystic revival, this allows me to bring back the monster at the top of my graveyard so come on out Archmage Starswirl!" He said appeared on the field was a monster that looked like merlin. (ATC 2400, DEF 1700)
"Wait when did..." Kouki remembered. "Oh crap." He said remembering what he did.
"That’s not all, I summon Shining Armored Knight in attack mode." Out appeared a monster that was an analogy to her brother (1900 atk 1500 def) "I active my Archmage’s special ability allowing me to draw two cards at the cost of a spell card." She sent Warrior Returning alive to the grave and drew two cards. "Next I play hand destruction causing you to discard two cards in your hand and I'll pick those two!" She said. He discarded a pendulum monster and monster reborn. "Next, I play Spell of Foresight you draw a card and If I pick whether it’s a spell trap or monster If I pick right its sent to graveyard if not you can add it to my hand and I discard the card on the top of my deck. Twilight said. "I pick monster." Kouki drew it. It was a monster, a pendulum monster.
"Crap!" He said forced to discard it.
"Now the Arch mage Star swirl attack his Disordered Knight!" The Archmage did. (3500-33200) "Now Shining Knight attack him directly." Kouki gave a screamed as the pain was more real. (3200-1800)
Kouki collapsed to one knee and started to pant as he dealt with the pain.
'Damn, she's pretty good at this,' Kouki thought as he stared up at Twilight. 'If she wasn't trying to take my dad's card from me, I'd probably be falling for her. It doesn't hurt that she's cute... damn I need to get my head in the game. Alright, so I have no monsters on the field and she took out one of my Monster Reborn. And she has two fairly strong monsters on her side. Eh, I've dealt with worse odds before.' Kouki stood up and patted himself off.
"Are you okay, or do you want to give up now?" Twilight asked, concerned.
"No way!" Kouki declared. "Giving up just isn't my style. You gotta play to win!" He finished with fire in his eyes.
"Alright, I end my turn," Twilight said with a sigh.
Kouki drew his card. "I play Pot of Greed allowing me to draw two more cards." He had a smile. "I play one card face down and summon Giggling Clown." The clown appeared on its ball in attack mode. (ATK 1300, 1000) "My clown’s effect allows him to switch modes however I play the quick play spell Mode Draw, as my monster switches modes I can draw two more cards." His monster sent into defense and he got two more cards. "I place one card face down and end my turn."
A bit over head voices were heard. "Kouki!" He saw his friends Jason and Sonic (nickname). Jason had black hair and a dirty face given his work purple eyes and was wearing a blue blazer with grey pants. Sonic had on what looked like a blue jean jacket fingerless gloves racing shoes and grey pants. "Hey guys I’ve been looking for you." However another person walked up to the railings. A teenage girl with dark blue hair light blue eyes and a dark blue top and purple skirt with black boots..
"Cousin why didn't you get my message?!" It was Kyoko Anono his cousin.
"Look can we not talk about this." He said. She gave him a stare that would put Fluttershy to shame.
"You better hope it takes a long time to get down there!" She said.
Kouki let out an awkward laugh. "Ok then."
"I'm guessing those were your friends you were talking about?" Twilight asked.
"Yup, well and my cousin who is... well she's family I guess." Kouki replied with a chuckle as he scratched his cheek with his eyes closed.
"Well, l think we should try to put an end to this," Twilight started as she drew her card. "I summon Baby Dragon in attack mode." An image of Spike appeared on the field (Atk:1200, Def: 700) "Now, Shining Armored Knight attack that clown!" Twilight declared, pointing at Kouki's monster as she was getting into the game.
"Not so fast!" Kouki cheered as he pumped his fist. "You forgot about my face down card, Mirror Force! Now all of your monsters are sent to the graveyard!"
The monsters all let out a scream as they were destroyed. Kouki acted on this. "It’s my turn." Kouki said as Twilight ended her turn. "I switch my clown into attack mode and attack you directly." Twilight cursed (ATK3200-DEF 1800) Kouki sighed. "Fine I switch my monster into defense mode" He said using its effect. Twilight drew her card it appeared to be her.
"I play Monster Reborn and bring back Shining Armored Knight next I tribute him to summon Archmage Librarian." "Thanks to Shining Armored Knight’s effect he’s treated as two monsters." (ATK 2600-DEF 2200) Next I play the equip spell, Element Jewelry Magic!" The crown appeared on her monster. "It increases my monsters attack by 1,000 and makes her immune to card effects!" Twilight then played her last card. "I play Fissure which destroys the monster with the least attack points!" The clown was gone.
"Oh Crap!"
"Now attack Kouki’s life points directly and ended this magic overload!" The blast hit Kouki his friends and cousin came to him.
"Kouki.." Twilight sighed.
"Looks like I win." The dust cleared and Kouki was still standing (Kouki 100LP) "What how did that?" A trap was revealed showing a warrior vs. an army.
"I activated the trap Last Stand, this allows me to keep 100 life points." He said.
“Kouki, what's going on?" Kyoko asked.
"Oh, hey cuz', these girls are trying to take my dad's card from me, so I challenged her to a duel for it." Kouki explained with a chuckle. Kyoko growled and started gritting her teeth.
"What? You just had a duel and now you're in another one?" She hissed at him.
"I know isn't it great!?" Kouki beamed. "This girl's a natural! I'm having a blast!" He finished with a grin. Kyoko groaned and drug a hand down your face.
"Kouki, do you ever think these things through? What'll you do if you lose your dad's card?" Kyoko asked.
"Don't worry cuz', that won't happen!"
"Really because you have 100 life points left."
"Come on cuz', you know these are the odds I live for as a duelist!" Kouki cheered. "You'll see, I'll turn this all around with this next card!"
"You have a win-loss streak of 50-50, the odds are not in your favor!" Kyoko screamed at him.
"Kyoko, please shut up." Jason said. "I believe in Kouki." Jason said. Sonic nodded as well. Kyoko sighed.
"Fine but if you lose that card." She said. A moment later Kouki gave a smile as his aura was seen by those who could, turning white lighted by Chaos. He placed his hand on his deck and the card glowed white. He drew as sparkling light came from his draw. Kouki activated his card.
"I play Hope shot!" His graveyard glowed. "This allows me to bring back two cards form my graveyard now I fill the pendulum slots!" He said. Suddenly two pillars appeared each with a monster in it a number 4 and 10 and a pendulum. "What’s going on?" Twilight asked.
"I’m pendulum summoning, Come out regal soldier..." (1700 ATK 1000 DEF) "Rise up take flight, become the new Beacon! Pendulum Summon! Chaos Lord Dragon!" Appearing was his ace. The very monster modeled around Discord (ATK 2500-DEF 2000) He said, "I activate Chaos Lord Dragon’s special ability I can negate the effect of one card on the field and I choose your Elemental jewel!" His Dragon glowed and long lines of Chaos energy hit the element of Harmony it greyed over.
“Well my monster’s still stronger." Twilight said. Kouki smiled. "Not really the effect of Noble Warrior allows Pendulum monsters to gain 1000 attack points if the monster is more powerful than it, and guess what Chaos Lord Dragon is." Twilight was out of ideas. "Now Chaos Lord Dragon, Chaotic Stream wave!" Twilight’s monster was destroyed. "Now Regal solider attack her life points directly!" he finished (twilight 0LP) (Winner:Houki)
Twilight slumped down to her knees and her eyes started to glaze over. 'How could I have lost?' She thought. 'What are we going to do now? If Kouki finds out that he's really Discord, there's no telling what could happen.' Before Twilight could sink further into despair, she was interrupted by a voice,
"Hey," Twilight looked up and saw that Kouki was looking at her with a warm smile. "There's no need to look so down, you almost h had me." Kouki offered Twilight a hand which she took. "We should duel again sometime, but just for fun, no stakes." Twilight was confused by Kouki's actions.
'This can't really be Discord, can it?' She thought with an arched eyebrow.
A sound of slow clapping was heard. "Good show entertainer." A voice was heard. Walking up from the shadows was a guy with silver spiked hair with blue streaks and red eyes. His blazer was on and with gloves his duel disk was active.
"You caught that? That was my first time performing live." Kouki said. The static look the person gave showed that he did not care.
"I caught something alright." he placed a card on his duel dick. Behind him shadows formed when it gave way was a snake’s long body and predatory looking being with fires of black coming out the sides of his mouth. The creature looked like a nightmare version of Discord/Chaos Lord Dragon. Celestia and Twilight looked in shock he had the same aura as Kouki. Two Discords. "This is Chaos End Dragon." He said. The Dragon gave out a demonic roar.
"We will meet again." The Dragon let out its flames causing him to disappear.
"Chaos End Dragon," Kouki said to himself as he stared at the space the strange man had occupied. Jason walked over to Kouki and placed a hand on his shoulder.
"Hey, are you okay?" He asked, causing Kouki to turn his head towards him.
"Yeah, I'm good. Something about that guy seemed familiar though."
"Really, do you think you know him? Or maybe he has something to do with your dad? that card does look like his."
"Maybe," Kouki said as he looked back at the space that the man had occupied. Celestia stepped forward to interrupt this train of thought.
"Kouki, I believe that we had a deal that we would tell you the truth about us. And seeing as I wish to stay true to our word, could you come with us, alone please.
Before Kouki could answer Kyoko hit him over the head with a big fan. "Why did you do that!" He demanded.
"That was for dueling for your father’s card." She hit him over the head again. "That was for missing our party." Kouki looked only to get another hit over the head sending him to the ground. "That was for being my cousin."
"why........" Kouki asked.
"Does she always do that?" Twilight asked.
"Yes.... and sometimes it for no reason." Sonic said.
"It’s actually kinda funny after a while." Jason said.
"Traitors," Kouki said.
"Yeah but we are still your best friends." Sonic said with a smile.
"Where ever he goes we go." Kyoko demanded giving her best death stare. Everyone there flinched in fear.
Even Celestia flinched at Kyoko's death glare. "It doesn't seem that there will be any negotiating with these beings.' Celestia thought. 'And maybe I could ask Kyoko to join the royal guard. She could probably stare any threat against Equestria into submission.' She finished with a chuckle. Celestia then let out a sigh as she withered under Kyoko's glare.
"Very well, could you take us somewhere at least a little private?" Celestia asked. "I do not wish to tell you what we have to say where someone else could hear." Kouki and his friends exchanged a glance as they considered what Celestia was saying.
"Alright, I think we might know a place," Kouki said as he indicated for everyone to follow him.
Enteral Night, Nightmare Queen!
They soon came to a garage. "Here we go Jason’s place." Kouki stated as he waved his arm dramatically at the rather plain looking building.
Jason entered the code and they soon saw parts thrown about, computers screens and even a tv showing footage from the pro leagues. Also there was this motorcycle. Rainbow Dash looked at it.
"What is that?" Sonic got between her. "Hey careful my duel runner still being repaired." Sonic said.
"Actually I finished it early this morning." Jason said. He tossed Sonic his helmet. "I had some spare time on my hands so I upgraded your helmet." Sonic placed it on his head as a direct interface to the duel runner’s systems started up.
"What in tarnation is a duel runner?" Applejack asked with a confused look.
"How do you not know what a duel runner is?" Sonic asked.
"Ah just don't, so can ya explain it?" Applejack replied.
"To put it simply, a duel runner is a modified motorcycle that projects an environment for a special kind of duel to take place. The rules for the duel change slightly and is growing in popularity due to the perceived challenge of it all." Jason explained in a scholarly way.
"Ohhh, I get it," Pinkie Pie said. "It's card games on motorcycles." She stated matter of factly.
"Card games on motorcycles?" Fluttershy asked.
"Card games on motorcycles!" Pinkie cried out in a strange voice.
"Can we just forget about duel runners and just get to why we're here?" Kyoko grumbled in an annoyed tone.
Twilight decided to be the one to explain. "Ok this is going to take some time to explain." Jason Sonic, Kyoko and Kouki blinked at what they just heard. Another world filled with ponies, magic and that Kouki may be Discord the god of chaos.
"Wait so there’s a world of ponies and Kouki is the reincarnation of a god...." Sonic started.
"That sounds awesome." Kouki said only to get himself smashed over the head by Kyoko.
"Are you seriously finding that awesome?!" Kyoko asked.
"Where do you keep that thing? And why would you even do that?" Kouki asked.
"Well you did just call your past-self awesome." Jason finished.
"I can't help it...." Kouki then asked himself. "Maybe I should dress up like him in my next action duel." Cue Kyoko looking over him with the anime fire in her eyes.
"You really want to test me?" She asked
Kouki sweat dropped "no please."
"But how can Kouki be the reincarnation of this god?" Sonic asked. "We've known him for years and you said that this Discord guy just disappeared." He finished.
"We're not quite sure about that," Celestia explained. "All we know is that we detect Discord's aura from Kouki." She finished.
Jason was scratching his chin in thought as he considered the possibilities. "Perhaps our universes connect at different intersections of our respective timelines. While Discord may have disappeared rather recently for all of you, his essence appeared in our universe years ago." Jason stated. Rainbow Dash tilted her head at that explanation.
"Can someone translate that sentence from egghead?" She asked.
"Look, how it happened isn't important right now," Kouki said, turning serious. "If I'm this god, what are you going to do with me?" Kouki asked, turning to Twilight. Twilight flinched, not sure how to respond to the pleading look Kouki was giving her. Luckily, Celestia stepped in for her.
"We're not sure right now, you are nothing like the Discord that we've come to know. Right now we are just waiting and seeing if you will undergo any changes." She concluded.
Kyoko’s eye twitched. "So what if he does are you going to turn him to stone.... or banish him to the sun?" Kyoko said with her weapon at the ready.
"Hey you can't talk to Celestia like that!" Pinkie pie said. "Oh yeah." Jason got between them.
"Look instead of you two fighting how about settling this in a duel." Jason said. Kyoko looked at him. "Fine." She got her duel disk and her deck.
"Wait, Twilight how do I do what you did?" Pinkie Pie asked.
"Well, I just sort of tried to use my magic and a deck and duel disk appeared."
"Uhh Twilight, I'm sure you know this already know this, but Pinkie Pie was an earth pony, no magic." Rainbow Dash said with an incredulous look.
"That's not completely accurate, while unicorns are the only ponies that can use external magic, every pony has their own internal magic," Twilight explained. "That's how you were able to affect weather when you were a pegasus."
"Okay, so how do I use magic?" Pinkie Pie asked.
"Just reach inside yourself until you find an energy of sorts and grab it. Everything else will take care of itself." Pinkie nodded and did as Twilight instructed. After a minute or so Pinkie's hands were surrounded by a pink glow and a deck and a pink duel disk appeared in them.
Kyoko pulled out her duel disk it was blue with stars and black card zones. Outside Kyoko and Pinkie Pie were ready. "Let’s duel." K4000 P4000 Pinkie Pie was first. "I summon Dancing Blading in attack mode." A dancing woman with bladed shoes appeared and full shut." ATK 1500 DEF 1000 I place one card face down and end my turn." Kyoko’s turn began.
“ I play the field spell Nightmare Castle!" A castle soon formed, it was dark and the feel with a moon light appearing behind her. "I play Nightmare Solider in attack mode." (ATK 1700 DEF 1200) "Next I play the spell Moon of Nightmare!" The moon started to glow. "This lets me send from my hand to my deck the monsters needed for a Fusion summon and in two turns the monster will be summoned. Well, as long as that monster has nightmare in its name anyway." She did as the moon glowed, readying the summon. "Now nightmare Solider attack her monster.”
"I activate my trap mirror force so your monster is destroyed." However her monster wasn't.
"Nightmare Castle prevents monsters with Nightmare in their name from being destroyed by trap and spell cards so sorry." The monster carved into Pinkie Pie’s. (P4000-3800) "I set one card face down and end my turn."
Pinkie drew her card and looked her hand over. 'This game is weird, but I guess it's kind of fun.' She thought as she tried to formulate a strategy. 'And I definitely like the idea of people playing a game to settle their differences.' She continued with an internal chuckle. 'Come on Pinkie, it's time to focus... wow, even I feel weird thinking that. Anyway, I should get back to the game.'
"I play one monster face down in defense mode and two cards face down and end my turn." She concluded. Kyoko let out a little laugh at that. "You're a pretty slow learner, aren't you?" She asked as she drew a card. "I just told you that spell and trap cards don't work on my nightmare monsters, and my deck is full of those." Pinkie shrugged at that.
"What can I say, Twilight is the learner I'm more of a party girl!" She cheered with a big grin.
Kyoko’s turn began.
"Due to Nightmare Castle’s effect I can draw two cards and I think I will!" She drew two cards and the moon glowed brighter. "Just one more turn." She said. "I summon Nightmare Mage in attack mode." ATK 1500 DEF 800. "When she is summoned I can destroy one face down spell or trap on the field I choose the one on the right. The card was Defense Draw. "Well that’s gone, now Nightmare solider attack the face down. The card flipped to revive a big shield. Party Shield. DEF 1500. "Oh great." The attack ended in a tie. "Your go."
Pinkie Pie drew a card. It was her element of harmony. "I activate Call of the Haunted to bring back my other monster." "I guess I sacrifice both my monsters to summon Mistress of Fun in attack mode." Appearing was a version of her in a clown outfit and covered in instruments. ATK 2400 DEF 1800.
"Really?" Kyoko asked.
"I equip her with Elemental Jewelry Necklace of Laughter." Pinkie Pie read the effect. "Attack her soldier." It did and it was destroyed. (K4000-3700) "And If it succeeds in destroying a monster my element lets me attack again take down her Mage." (K3700-2800). "Go again attack her directly." The monster did sending Kyoko flying back (K2800-400) "You know this is kinda fun." Kyoko who was on the ground felt her anger rise. An aura started to be felt by everyone present. One that was all too familiar to Celestia. It brought back old wounds. "Your turn."
Kyoko drew two cards. "You little." She looked at her with fire in her eyes. "I'll show you!" The moon glowed as a dark image appeared. "It’s time for my monster to arrive." Celestia stepped back.
"She’s Nightmare Moon." She half screamed.
"What?" The other ponies turned human said.
"Come forth let your presence be known, plunge the world in enteral night! Fusion Summon Nightmare Queen!" Appearing was an armored Human version of Nightmare Moon with a cape made of her hair and a blade at the ready. (ATK 2700 DEF 2200) "My monster has a special effect when she destroys a monster you take its original attack points as damage afterwards.
"I activate the trap card Call of the Haunted to bring back Nightmare Solider."
"How can Kyoko be Nightmare Moon?" Twilight asked Celestia.
"I don't know," Celestia admitted. "It may be related to the strange overlapping timeline that Jason was talking about.
"Do you think there are others that are reincarnations of villains that we fought?" Fluttershy asked.
"That is possible, but I sincerely hope not." Celestia replied. Kyoko and Pinkie Pie weren't paying attention to their conversation and Kyoko had a smug smile on her face.
"This is it, Nightmare Queen attack her Mistress of Fun!" Nightmare Queen rushed over to the Mistress and cut her in half. The monster shattered and caused Pinkie to lose 300 life points. Nightmare Queen then got in Pinkie's face and fired an orb of dark energy. Pinkie cried out in pain as she lost 2400 more life points. "Now Nightmare Solider end this attack her directly." The solider swung his sword at her. Pinkie Pie0 (winner Kyoko)
'Both Discord and Nightmare Moon have been reborn in this world who else?' Twilight asked herself.
Pinkie groaned as she tried to pick herself up from the ground. Kyoko walked past the pink girl and said, “Looks like I don’t have to apologize to Celestia.”
She kept walking and stood next to her friends. Kouki frowned at his cousin’s actions and went to go help the distraught party girl. He knelt down in front of her and offered her a hand.
“I’m sorry about Kyoko, she can be a bit… extreme when it comes to protecting her family.”
Pinkie took the offered hand and allowed herself to be helped off of the ground. “You don’t have to apologize for anything. I just wish I could’ve gotten her to apologize.”
Kouki then turned toward Kyoko and gave her a cross look, but she just turned away from him with a “hmmph”.
Kouki sighed and turned back to Pinkie. “Yeah I don’t think that’ll happen. Once she makes her mind up about something she’ll rarely change her mind. Still, you were pretty close to beating her; what did you think of your first Duel Monsters game?”
“It was actually pretty fun, though I didn’t like having to sacrifice my monsters. That just seemed mean to me.”
“Well, if you really want to summon your powerful monsters without sacrificing then there is something you could do,” Kouki told her with a grin.
“What do you mean?”
“It’s simple, you need to get pendulum monsters. That’ll allow you to summon as many monsters as you want once per turn.”
“Ooh, that sounds fun! But I don’t know the first thing about pendulum monsters,” Pinkie pouted.
“Well how about this, I’ll teach you and help you put together a new deck.”
“You’d really do that for me?”
“Of course, I love helping a duelist be the best that they can be,” Kouki answered with a warm grin.
