Chapter 14 – Growing up

When the sun’s light hit my eyes, I slowly began to wake up. I looked behind me and Fluttershy was nowhere to been seen. I then got out of bed slowly and began walking downstairs while rubbing my eyes to get the junk out. The smell of eggs being cooked called me so I head downstairs to see Fluttershy making breakfast. I looked at the dining table and its just like your average breakfast spread; eggs, toast, you name it, only difference is there’s no bacon or meat.

(Dang I miss meat, badly.)

“Oh David your awake. Please sit down.” She asked me and I implied.

“Hey thanks for the food.” Once I thanked her, we began eating.

“Hey David about last night this happened before right?” She asked me. I looked down on my plate so I don’t have to answer. But I know too well that if I don’t, she’s going to keep asking me so I decided it was best to just let it out.

“Fine but promise one thing; don’t you ever tell this to anyone. Not even a soul. Got it?”

“I promise.” After she promised, I told her the constant nightmares that have been plaguing me a few weeks before I came here and that yesterday it resurfaced again without a reason. The nightmares involve me in a recently dystopian San Francisco where everywhere I go it’s just silence and destroyed buildings that looked like they were looted. Then the figure comes and no matter how badly I wanted to change the dream, it almost ends with me almost dying and waking up in cold sweat.

Needless to say after I had told her all this she held me like someone only a mother would to her child, gentile yet strong enough to not let me go.

“David I want you to know that I’ll always be there when you need somepony to care for you.” I rolled my eyes knowing this would happen but it was a good sentiment no less so I guess I’m grateful. But enough of this and now I finally asked her if we can go out to the spa.

“Please I heard that that place has the cure for…this.” I motioned my entire body telling her that this is not the body of full fledge adult. She realized what I was referring to and looks saddened.

“Oh are you certain that’s what you want?” I told her yes and that I wouldn’t want it any other way.

(I mean I don’t want to be like this for another 8 years. Plus puberty sucks.) It dawned on me on what I was thinking.

“I said suck.” I then reacted when I said suck. I got out of my chair, got down on my knees and reached my arms out in the air and spoke at the top of my lungs...

“I CAN SAY SUUUUUUUUCK!” I looked around me and saw that Fluttershy and her animals looked at me. I then think about all the life choices I made and thought this isn’t even one of the most embarrassing acts I’ve done in my life. After the whole thing was past, we finished our meal and headed off to town.

While we were walking, I looked at Fluttershy’s direction and had a thought but shook off the idea thinking it was stupid and ridicules. But once the idea was out of the way, I tripped over a rock and fell on my face.

“Ahh cripes.” I push myself up but Fluttershy was worried I might have hurt myself. I told her it was fine and that this was nothing.

“Uh David if it’s ok with you; do you want me to carry you to the spa?” It took me by surprised that she would want to carry me. I was too big to be carried plus this is Fluttershy, but since I’m a kid now, I may not be so heavy but it would be ridiculous.

(Buuuuuuut…) I always wanted to know what it was like to ride a pony. I mean my sister got to in her birthday and I didn’t because like I said I was too big at the time and it was for wussies back on Earth.

(Fudge it!) I feel as though this maybe my only chance to do anything like this. So I told her I take her offer and I climbed on her back. I balanced myself but I asked her if I was heavy.

“No. In fact, you kind of feel a bit lighter than I thought.” I didn’t know either to feel complemented or shamed. Regardless of what she said, at least she won’t be hurt while she’s carrying. We moved along to the town and when we were at the market district everypony was staring at us.

I didn’t bother with the staring but I looked at Fluttershy and she looked like she was hyperventilating quietly. I realize that she must not like the attention.

(She may not be afraid of me but she’s a bigger wuss then Vincent.) I shook the memories away because I’m no longer friends with that traitor. After realizing the longer she walks, the more ponies are going to stare at her. So I decided to jump down and walk with her rather than be carried all the way.

When we were about to turn the corner, I heard one of satins’ minions finally wanting the toll.

“David I want pay back for what you did!”

“Oh sphincters.” I then ran behind Fluttershy so that Rainbow Dash wouldn’t beat me a new one or worse send me to Applejacks farm. Luckily Fluttershy was able to stop Dash in her pursuit of vengeance on to me.

“Oh Dash what seems to be the problem?”

“You know what is. That punk made me the laughing stalk of the town from yesterday’s stunt he pulled.”

“That’s because you put me in the care of Rarity you big poopy head.”

“Just you wait when you get big again; I’ll make you regret ever setting hoof in Ponyville.”

“Then bring it, Rainbow CRASH.” I think I might have set her off because she was about to come after me. Fluttershy stopped Dash before she could have the chance to actually fight me.

“Dash you know you can’t hurt him. He’s just a foal.” After she said that Dash knew that if she hits me, her reputation would only worsen plus the street was more occupied. So she finally gives in to Fluttershys request. I stick my tongue out in Rainbows sight to show I win. AGAIN.

Needless to say it only agitated her even more but she’s still putting up with my antics only until I get big again. So when Fluttershy and I were walking, Dash was following us knowing that we were going to the spa. I really need to ditch her because if I don’t, Dash is going to have a lot of opportunities once I get big.

“David is that you?” I look around me and saw that it was Applebloom including her other friends too. They looked at me thinking I was a different person.

“Yeah don’t ask how this happened.”

“Poison joke.” Sweetie belle and Applebloom said in unison.

“How’d you…”

“Lucky guess.” Applebloom said. I wanted to ask but it would only make even less sense so forget it.

“So David we want to ask you if you want to play with us.” Scootaloo ask while carrying a purple and white stripped ball. I was about to answer but I looked behind the three and saw two more ponies I really didn’t want to see.

“Oh wow is that the hairless monkey?” Diamond Tiara asked.

(I’m really getting sick of being called that.)

“Look now’s not the time for this so I’m a make like a tree and leave.” I really didn’t want to do this right now so I asked Fluttershy if we can go. Before Fluttershy would give an answer Diamond gave a snarky remark.

“Wants wrong don’t have anything better to say now that you’re small.” When she said I was small, I couldn’t help that one; I am still taller than her and two; how is small close to intellect. However I hate when someone points the obvious that I’m small. And to be fair she brought this upon herself.

“Hey Scootaloo I decided I will play with you guys but I got a game we can play. Pass me the ball.” She complies and throws the ball to me. I play around with the ball for a bit.

“We humans play a lot of ball games. There’s so many to choose from too; Basketball, Football, Baseball…” I then push the ball to the unexpected Diamond and once it hit her face, the ball bounced back to me.

“Ow.”

“Dodgeball. The rules are simple: you get hit…” I threw it again and it hit her then came back to me again.

“You’re out. But if you can catch it…” I repeated the action again.

“You can bring a teammate back but the opponent is out. So you want to know the best strategy of the game?” I fake a throw and she flinched but once she was off guard, I threw it again then it came back.

“Dodge. So I got one last question to ask; do you want to play a game?” I asked with a mischievous smirk. That got to her because she was running away along with her friend too.

“Still think I got nothing good to say NOW!” I threw the ball back to Scootaloo and she caught it.

“Glad you understand the rules of the game but I need to get back to normal. Maybe later I promise I’ll go easy.” I then signal Dash and Fluttershy to hurry. We walk for another few blocks and Dash was the first to ask.

“You went too far on Diamond. I mean I heard she’s done some terrible things from Scoots but that was uncalled for.”

“Bullies are bullies regardless of gender plus I’m her age so it was fair game.”

“But…” Before Fluttershy would say anything we finally made it to the spa. We walk in and we see Rarity in the front desk. When I saw her, I moved behind Fluttershy so she wouldn’t get me again.

“Oh Rarity it’s great to see you.” Rarity looks back and sees Fluttershy and Dash. She looks happy that the two are here but what she was surprised about Dash being here.

(Guess Dash isn’t a fan of Spas. Makes sense I guess.)

“Oh my. David it’s great to see you too. But where were you yesterday? I made so many ensembles for you to try on.”

(Oh no Vietnam flashbacks are coming again.)

“You stay away from me you poopy cloth designer.” I insulted her. The only thing she made for me was my Tartarus. I realized that there were loopholes and words that I can say while I’m cursed but that ends today.

“David apologize.” Fluttershy told me. I refused to follow what she had to say because it was true ,Rarity could have easily took me to the spa and I would have been normal but she wanted to see me in a sailor suit.

“David.” Fluttershy said my name with bit more stern tone. I looked at her direction to tell her no way, but when I looked into her eyes, something almost compelled me to do it. But I need to stand tall. I tried looking away but those eyes want me to look and be judge.

(No, no don’t give in.) When I looked again, the wall finally crumbled.

“Alright fine, Rarity I’m sorry. Alright can we please just get me back to normal geez?” Fluttershy looks happy again and that look was no longer there.

(Seriously what was that?)

I walk to the front of the desk and asked the pony in front to take me to the cure for poison joke. And like Rarity she treats me like I’m a child.

(Seriously I think I remember you at that party. Heck you were the first to move aside when I was going to the buffet.) She also brought her sister I think. Because the reason they look like twins, the slightest difference is that there mane and coat color are switched and vice versa.

“Well aren’t you the cutest thing we seen all day.”

(Endure this David. You’ll be big again soon.) I hear giggling behind me. I can hear that it was Dash and Rarity.

“(Sigh) I think Twilight made a schedule for me to come here.” Apparently they owed Twilight a favor and knew that I was broke so they asked me to come along with them. I look back and saw that the girls were waiting back.

“Hey wait can those three come along too?” I asked. The pony with the blue mane and pink coat looked at me and was about say something but I let in my secret weapon; the puppy eyes.

“Please.” I then pouted my lips for good measure. They both succumbed to my childish charms. They allowed the three to come along too and we entered a room that had a bath that could fit five of these ponies hopefully it can fit me too. The twin ponies told me that they will get the ingredients they need to make the cure. I asked them it’s ok so they both left.

So it was only me, Fluttershy, Rarity, and Dash in this room. I walk around this place and checked whatever there was in this room. I found the towels and a robe and I put them near the tub just in case. I then find a seat and sat finally relaxed.

“So this never leaves the room but I want to thank you all.” They both had curious looks at one another.

“I’m not much for this sort of thing but bare with me. I just want to thank Fluttershy for letting me sleep over at her home and I also like to thank you Rarity for making me clothes that fit me too.” The two told me it was for nothing that they would gladly help me in my time of need.

“But I’m going to say this Dash I’m sorry for the trouble I’ve caused for you. I was a jerk and I should have said all those things when we fought. Truce?” I raised my hand as a sign of peace hoping this would be water under the bridge. Dash was thinking about it and I wouldn’t blame her, I wouldn’t trust me too.

“To be fair, I was a first class jerk wad. But if you don’t want to, it’s…fine.” I then lower my hand knowing this was a waste. Something inside of me hurts. I don’t know what I’m feeling.

(Is this guilt? Whatever it is, it freaking hurts a little.) I hear the door open and the twins return with bottles. They both pour it in the tub and started heating up the bath. After about a few minutes, they say that it was ok to get in so I grab a towel and found a room I can undress.

When I got out all I was wearing was just a towel and I starting getting in the tub. It was hot at first but I got used to it. When I finally got my entire body in, the feeling was amazing. I looked to find where the others were and Rarity was getting a mud facial along with Fluttershy and as for Dash, she’s just sitting back relaxing. As for me, I just let the hot bath do its work so I just started drifting off to sleep.

I don’t know how long I was sleeping for but I think it might be time for me to get out of the tub. So I lifted myself off the tub, grabbed the towel and robe but when I tried putting it on, it was difficult putting my arm through the holes for the arms and it’s not just that, the towel was barely able to cover me. I looked around the room and no one was in the room. So I thought I might sneak out and ask the staff if they have a bigger towels. When I was walking out I wasn’t looking and I stubbed my toe on something and the pain was unbelievable.

“Agghh son of the emerald whore!” When I heard my voice, it dawned on me that I was back to normal. My voice was deeper than the younger version and I can finally curse again. When I finally can curse again, I inhaled and said all the swear words I can think of, to know for sure I was back to normal. Needless to say, if someone with a weak heart heard me right now, I’m pretty sure they’d be sent to a hospital.

(Oh man that… that felt good.) Once all of that was over, I walked around the place and realized that the three ponies were gone. They must have left when I was sleeping.

I found the door to the lobby and opened to see the other three ponies pay out for their treatments. When they looked in my direction, they were a bit surprised that they don’t see the little boy that came in through the door and outcomes a completely different person.

“Oh man it feels so great to be old again.”

(Never thought I hear that sentence come out of me.) I walk closer to them and their heights were at my hip area. Good.

“Finally I’m not small anymore. Being a kid sucks ass.”

“David, language.” Fluttershy looked up at me with disappointment in her face. Normally I apologize but I don’t feel guilty, not like from a few minutes ago.

“Guess what Fluttershy? I don’t give a God damn. Because I can say whatever I want and what I want right now, I want to go back to the library and change.” With a happy tone knowing that I’m me again.

“Not with that attitude.” Rarity looked at me with mild disgust about how I was acting.

“And to think I was considering and thinking of accepting that apology of yours an hour ago.” Dash looked at me with mild irritation in her face.

“Welp now that I’m back to my old self again I’m going back to Twilights and getting my clothes back. So if you don’t mind I’ll take my leave and send the bill to Twilight.” I turned around to find the exit to this place and was about to leave.

“Wait you can’t take that towel with you I’m afraid.” The pink colored and blue maned pony said.

“Yes you would not believe the times that our customers borrow our towels and sometimes forget to bring them.” Said her other sister.

I asked them to let me just this once but they still refuse.

“Guess you’re stuck here until one of us brings you your clothes.” Dash said with a chuckle at the end of her sentience.

“(Gasp) I can make you a whole new assemble back at the boutique although it will take me a while considering the endless possibility.” Rarity continued on talking. I looked at Fluttershy but I looked away knowing that she’s out because of how I talked to her. While they were busy with what they were thinking or doing, I was thinking about my options and they were slim. However the fun way kept creeping in my thoughts and I thought what the hell.

Without hesitation, I grabbed the door handle but once I turned it, I also grabbed the towel and threw it to the ponies’ direction more specifically to Dashes face. Once they were distracted, I ran outside butt ass naked straight shoot to the library.

“Wooooo streaking!” I ran screaming almost complete none sense while laughing. This hasn’t been my first streak remember those misdemeanor? Most were for this to trespassing but it was thrilling to out run the cops. While I was running I saw a pony that was taking out the trash and it lifted two trash lids, so an idea came up so I yoinked the two lids and hid my naked body in case if kids were around. Even streakers has standards.

After finally making it to the library, I opened door and ran down to the stairs to the lab where my clothes were supposed to be but they aren’t. I looked around the lab only to not find them. Since they were not down here I ran upstairs to see if Twilight had put them somewhere else. While I was running I tripped on one of the steps and was about to crash into the door but it opened on its own.

“Shit.” I pulled myself up and looked down to see Twilight in my vision. She looked up to me when she recovered from the collision.

“Uhhhh…” I was speechless to say the least because right now in this situation I have nothing to explain. Twilight’s horn glowed and without reacting, I was pushed down the stairs and tumbled down.

Once the tumbling was over I only had one thing to say…

“Ow.” With a weak tone. I wanted the pain to end but later somehow I’m alive and still kicking thanks to Jack and Axel for healing my body and after two days of not talking to them they had a lot of magic to heal me right away.

(What in God’s name happened? One day we’re healing the back of your head after you fell and the next thing we knew you’re on top of Twilight.)

(Nice.)

(What the f@#K...)

I was about to ask them why they haven’t talked to me but I got bigger problems we need to deal with. I got back up then ran to the bed then grabbed the sheets to make shift a toga. Then climbed the stairs to see what Twilights conditions were.

“Twilight you haven’t seen my pants laying around here have you?” I looked up the stairs that were heading I assume was Twilights room and my pants including my underwear that were inside were thrown in my face when I asked.

“Thank you.” I head down stairs and put them on. The only thing that was missing was my shirt which was back at Rarity’s boutique so I got to remind myself to go out tomorrow.

(Ten bucks down the drain.) So after all that weirdness had ended I think it was about time I ended that day because I’m pretty sure I just humiliated myself until something equally as embarrassing as that comes before Halloween rolls around. Once I walked up the stairs, I locked the door and walked down to sleep this off after that whole uhh… accident. I don't think we can ever forget that without booze or even have enough.
