Prologue: A New High School
This story shall begin in some way or another, but what way should it go? Cliche or with a character introduction? Nah….I have a good idea to start this.
In Minnesota, in a street named St.Paul was a trailer homed to one of our main characters.
A human named Chris went up to his parents and bent his knees and put on a Show let’s say.
“Please! Mom! Dad! I want to go to the new mobile school! Being here at home and doing school here outright sucks!” Chris exclaimed, Shaking his hands back and forth with the puppy eyes.
His dad rose his eyes skeptically.
“Why do you want to go to this mobile school anyways?” His dad asked, picking up the piece of paper.
‘A new mobile school has been opened! Everypony may come and enter! Just make sure you're 18 and over so we won’t have to worry about you getting hurt.’
His dad glared at him.
“Really, just why do you want to go there?”
“Because of what it says right there!” Chris said, pointing at the end of the article page.
His dad looked at it and saw ‘It’s free! So don’t worry about paying funds for your kids!’
His dad scratched his head.
“I don’t know…..you're gonna have to show your mom this,” Jay said, giving him the article.
“So that means?” Chris said, raising his eyebrows expectantly.
Jay sighed.
“Yes. You can go to the school, you just need to get your mom’s approval first. But don’t forget about us!” Jay said, yelling at him worryingly.
Chris nodded his head with a smile.
After that, Chris stood up and went to go see his mom about the school and if it was all right.
Meanwhile, across town:
"How much looonger?!" Zach asked, completely bored from the 4 hour ride.
"Not much longer, now shut up and go back to your phone" Keith said, tired of hearing the same thing constantly.
"I told you 4 hours ago, it's dead! I don't got a car charger!" Zach said, regretting the fact that he didn't buy that charger a while back.
"Oh well! Charge it when we get inside!" Krista said, pulling into a driveway. The house was small, but definitely bigger than the one back in Provo.
"Another small house?" Zach asked, disappointed in his mother's choice of housing. "We have the money!" He said, dreading the fact that he would have to sleep in another tiny room.
"Hey, your siblings aren't here to live with us, because they chose others over us!" Keith and Krista said, at the exact same time.
Thinking back, he remembered how his brother chose to stay with Brittney, his younger sibling went to stay at their dad's, since they loved him more than their own mother.
"I guess you're right" Zach said, then got out of the van to find his stuff. "Why'd we move here again?" He asked, not remembering what they had told him before they left.
"Reasons" Keith said, grabbing his bag of stuff, then walking into the new home. Zach just gave a weak sigh, grabbed his stuff, then started walking towards the door. Stopping for a second, he looked over to see another teenager, who looked like he was looking for someone. Shrugging it off, he walked inside the house.
Chris raised his eyebrows.
“Why the hell did that kid look at me? …...and why do I feel like it won’t be the last time I see him?” Chris wondered to himself, rubbing his chin.
“You ready to go Boo-Boo?” His mom asked, walking up to him with a smile.
Chris smiled, this was a thing they always did.
“Of course I am ready to go find a picnic basket ma!” Chris exclaimed, snickering.
Crystal smiled.
“I can’t believe how much you’ve grown Chris, and now you want to go to a high school,” His mom said, sadly.
“Just don’t forget about us ok? We are still here and you can still visit,” His mom said, giving him his back-pack.
Chris put the back-pack on his back (Duh) and smiled.
“Of course! Don’t worry, I’ll be alright” Chris said, smiling happily.
“You just go make some new friends and be happy,” Crystal said, giving Chris his phone.
“You have our number, so if you need to call at any time, Just be careful. Your dad might be in a bad mood,” Crystal said, patting him on the back.
Chris rubbed his hair.
“Of course mom!” Chris exclaimed, giving her a one-armed hug.
“I’ll see you later!.....or at some point” Chris said, snickering.
Crystal nodded, and went back inside.
Chris waited till she left and sighed softly.
“All right. The map…is in my pocket,” Chris said, taking out his map.
Chris whistled, the map of Minnesota was so big. He saw his travel experience as well. From St.Paul to the new school named “Equestria High” would take almost……a whole 2 hours!
Chris snickered, “It’s a good thing that I had some training for this a long time ago,” Chris said, thinking about that one sad moment in his life.
He shook his head, “No, no Chris you’ve moved past that! There is no need to be sad anymore! Now then…..That kid that saw me,” Chris thought to himself in interest.
Chris thought back to the teenager that saw him.
“It did say that I needed another human with me in order for it to be free…I wonder?” Chris wondered.
Chris nodded.
“Yeah, I’ll go visit that kid and see if he wants to go with, might be fun,” Chris said, deciding on his plan and went to go visit that kid and his parents with much awkwardness in his mind.
Chris went up to the door, adjusted his back-pack, his hat, and his glasses and coughed. After his readiness, he knocked on the door and waited for a response in patience.
"Already?!" Keith asked, not wanting to deal with it. "Zach! Get the door!" He yelled. Zach got up from the floor where he was laying down, and answered the door.
"Yes?" He asked, poking his face out the door, only to hit his head on the visitor.
"Ah! Careful man! You hit me on the head!” Chris exclaimed, rubbing his head painfully.
"Gah! Sorry, but you popped my neck when I hit you!" Zach said rubbing his neck in pain.
Chris glared, “Don’t blame me for getting your neck popping! I was the one that knocked! You just said ‘Hi there, may I hit your head?” And did just that!” Chris sarcastically remarked.
"You're right, can't really argue with you there" Zach said, apologizing. For once in his life.
Chris felt like a dick. “Ah...shit. Um...I am still sorry though, I mean..I could’ve moved a bit back,” Chris said, rubbing his neck ashamed.
Chris coughed, “Anyways! Let me fix our introduction and let me tell you who I am. Alright?” Chris asked, smiling.
"Sounds like a plan" Zach said.
“My name is Christopher J Roman McGraw. But you can call me Chris!” Chris said, sticking out his hand.
"Name's Zach J. Scott, game player extraordinaire!" Zach said, grabbing Chris' hand and shaking it.
“You and I are gonna get along just fine,” Chris remarked with a smile.
“Anyways, I have a question for you...and you can say yes or no. Just let me explain all right?” Chris said, smiling.
"Fire away amigo" Zach said, putting a little bit more humor into it.
Chris chuckled.
“Nice one brah,” Chris remarked.
“Anyways, my question is...do you want to leave?” Chris asked, raising his eyebrows.
"I just got here" Zach said, feeling to lazy to leave. "Why do I want to leave, please explain" he said, slouching a bit.
“Can you maybe open the door so we can see each other fully? I feel like you don’t trust me or something,” Chris sarcastically said, glaring at the door. “I hate doors.”
"But this ones blue-" Zach said, defending the door.
“Shut up and open the door.” Chris said, cutting off Zach annoyingly.
"Fine" Zach said, pushing it open all the way, to reveal some really hairy legs, and way to white chest, since he took his shirt off.
“Ah….All righty then. I don’t care, I see my dad barenaked every day anyways,” Chris exclaimed.
"What nightmares have you seen?!" Zach asked, horrified.
“Let’s not get into much, You might throw up from what I’ll say,” Chris said, laughing awkwardly.
"I've heard and seen worse" Zach said. "Do continue with something else though" He said, not wanting him to feel awkward.
Chris patted Zach on the shoulder.
“All right. So...You see this Article here?” Chris asked, pulling out his article to show Zack.
“So…you gonna look at it or am I gonna stand here and look dumb?” Chris said, sarcastically annoyed.
“Oh shit!” Chris exclaimed.
“Sorry! I didn’t explain about what the newspaper is!”
“It’s about a new mobile school here in Minnesota that my parents said I could go to now that I am 18. But, I can’t go there unless I bring another with me!”
Chris noticed that Zack was staying quiet with a bored expression on his face.
Chris made a stoic face.
“All right. I guess I will explain everything right now then.”
“The reason why I need you is so the school will not have to pay us money! It’s free if two people go and I have no actual friends around! And to tell the truth….I felt some kind of vibe about you that made me think ‘This guy has got to be cool” and I came to visit and ask if you wanted to come with me! Also, you know what’s another good few reasons?” Chris asked Zack, with a charge-in grin.
"Free tacos?" Zach asked.
Chris shook his head surprisingly and made some gibberish noises. He face-palmed.
“That’s already a thing at that school you dummy! I’m talking about how you’ll be away from your parents and you’ll never have to see them again! Also...I’ve been told that there are rumors that this school has a lot of females in it and not many males. Think of all the females there! You know another rumor I heard about it?” Chris asked, blushing a little bit at what he is gonna say.
"They are all communists" Zach said, thinking about Russia for many stupid reason.
“There are rumors about the Principal being a communist…..but no. It’s that all the females there are….” Chris looked behind him, and looked at Zack seriously.
He whispered in Zach’s ear.
“I heard that they don’t wear clothes and are out-stark naked.”
"Yep, definitely communists" Zach said, thinking about the one fashion thing, and being naked is a fashion in some countries.
Chris groaned. “I’ll put it in a few words. What would you rather want? To come with me to this school? Or stay here with your parents on your ass doing nothing when you can go do that at the school instead?” Chris said, moving away from Zack and glaring at him for being so hard.
Chris crossed his arms and waited.
“Well?” Chris asked impatiently.
"Communism it is!" Zach said, rushing over to his still packed stuff, and went back to the door.
“You ready?” Chris asked.
"Yes Freddy, I'm ready" Zach said, being a smart ass.
Chris looked down with a stoic face.
“So you are ready…..even though you still have just your underwear on?” Chris asked.
"But it's for the communist school!" Zach said, not wanting to get his clothes out from his bag.
“So you want the people that we will be passing by to think that you are weird? And that you want the cold wind to hit your body? And that you might regret not putting some on?” Chris said, telling Zack a few reasons why he should wear clothes.
"Fine! Communism later, clothes now!" Zach said, throwing his bag on the ground, opening it, pulling clothes out, putting them on, and putting his coat on.
“Coat it is I guess,” Chris shrugged, and grabbed Zach’s wrist.
“Parents never again! TO THE COMMUNIST SCHOOL!” Chris yelled, pointing forwards.
"Where you going?" Keith asked from behind Zach, scaring the lights out of him.
"Places" Zach said.
"Why?" Keith asked again.
"Reasons" Zach replied, reaching maximum smart ass levels and he closed the door.
“Maybe we should run before your dad decides to chase us,” Chris asked, smiling.
"He won't, I know he won't" Zach said, starting to walk.
They walked on a cobalt street, while walking by other trailers and other humans along the way.
Oh shit. I didn't tell Zach that this was gonna take two hours by the least. Chris thought to himself stupidly.
"Meh. He doesn't need to know," Chris whispered to himself, shrugging it off as nothing.
Chris walked towards Zack and kept pace with him.
“All right. Now then…..how about we get to know each other since we are gonna be stuck together?” Chris asked.
Chris decided to start off with a cough and talk about himself for a little.
“So you know that my name is Chris and that I am 18 years old. But let me tell you the few things that I also have. Like you, I am a video game fanatic and played it ever since I knew how to hold a thing. Also, my parents Crystal and Jay are kewl I guess. But eh, My mom worked most of the time so I never see her and my dad usually stays stark-naked and asks me to do stuff for him even though he can do it. I almost died twice in my life, I have been single and a virgin ever since I was born…..annnnnddddd Huh…whoops. I blurted out a bit too much,” Chris said, chuckling.
“What about you amigo?” Chris asked, smiling.
"All you really need to know, is that these pants are too tight" Zach said, ripping them a bit. "You also need to know that I am half insane, a little OCD, 17 years of being alive, and stuck at 125 pounds right now" Zach explained, ripping his pants a bit more.
“You hate your pants I see. Also...125? At 17?! I’m at 188.8 pounds! Also….All that stuff you said to me is probably the sanest thing I heard in my whole life,” Chris said, smiling as innocently as possibly.
"Alright, you caught me, I'm really 175, I just take 50 off because of my coat" Zach said, admitting his lie.
“I bet you lied a lot in your life huh?” Chris asked, wiggling his eyebrows and teasing Zack.
"Yep, I have yet to admit to my cousin that I am not an astronaut" Zach said laughing, at the memory.
“Nice lie. hmmmm…but what else did you lie about? I am pretty curious…did you lie about your age as well?” Chris said, sarcastically.
"My lies have limits, and age is one" Zach said, clearing that up.
“So your NOT 17 huh?” Chris asked.
"You'll figure it out one day" Zach said, being a total twit.
Chris snickered.
“You still haven’t figured it out yet huh?” Chris said, smiling a little. He adjusted his glasses to see Zack better.
"Neither have you" Zach said, exceeding the max levels of smart ass.
“Wow, So you haven’t figured out how sarcastic I am yet huh? Also, My dad is a WAY bigger smart ass than you. So really, I find this funny as hell,” Chris said, laughing.
"You should see me with family then" Zach said, remembering that campout made him smile like an idiot.
Chris told Zach something secretive that he told no one else.
“Then let me say back that you should see how much of a liar I am with my family,” Chris snickered.
"Try beating three lifelong lies" Zach said, grinning evilly.
“Oh OH OH! Yes….You and I are gonna get along perfectly,” Chris said, smiling like a lunatic on crack.
“Also…what do you have in your backpack?” Chris asked, going back to normal state.
"Let's see....an Xbox, PS3, computer, 6 pack of mountain dew, Doritos, bread, butter, and a toaster that I won at a carnival" Zach said, plain and simple.
Chris nodded.
“All right…Let’s see what’s in mine!” Chris grunted, and took the huge yellow back-pack off.
“Dang, this thing is about the size of my chest!” he said, chuckling.
He looked in and said, “A Wii, Wii U, GameCube, 3DS, DS, A Laptop, Err…..my Ipod? And…...Oh hello there!” Chris said, smiling in the back-pack.
He came out of the back-pack with a gun in his hand.
“My gun that I got without telling my parents! *laughs* If my mom knew I had this she’d get so mad,” Chris said.
He took the Ipod out, put his gun away, and put his back-pack on.
“Let’s see what song is on here……” Chris said, wondering.
He turned it on, and smiled.
“Ohhhhhhhh YEAH!” Chris smiled, putting a certain song on.
Chris started dancing for no reason whatsoever, and screamed “STAYIN ALIVE HELL YEAH!” For no reason.
People from across the street looked at Chris like he was crazy and some of them took pictures of his dancing.
Throughout the time Chris was dancing, Zach and him walked along the street and Zach was just noticing that people were looking at the dancing man who did not even pay attention to the world around him.
This made Zach look at Chris annoyingly.
"Dude, the people across the street are taking pictures of you for some reason" Zach said, putting his coat hood on to avoid attention.
Chris looked at them, and gave them both the middle finger with his tongue sticking out. This made the people look mad and glare at him, but they left after a couple of minutes.
Chris snickered.
“I think I forgot to tell you how much of a dancer I am as well huh?” Chris asked, smiling.
After Chris said this, someone tapped him on the shoulder and Chris felt confused.
"You two are being very rude to those folks!" Someone said from behind them, they both froze, and slowly turned around. Woah and behold, Chris fell in love instantly.
But before he fell in love, he saw that the school was right behind this lovely girl and felt......strange knowing that they made it to the school.
Huh. Time must fly by when you're having fun, Chris thought feeling convenient about this moment.
To be Continued.
