Hiding Eternal Shame

It was a bright Tuesday morning. Everything was normal in Ponyville. Sun was shining, birds were chirping, Twilight was reading, and the CMC were doing their thing. Well... not yet on that last part.

At the moment, all of the fillies and colts and whatnot were at the schoolhouse. Everypony was talking to each other, and that includes the aforementioned CMC.

"So, any ideas for today?" Scootaloo asked the other two, obviously enthusiastic. Apple Bloom and Sweetie Belle took a second to process. They looked at each other. They looked around the room. After a couple seconds, they answered in unison.

"Nope."

Scootaloo took a breath to rave about how great their ideas were, but there was nothing to rave about. She let all of the air out of herself, and then the bell rang.

Everypony navigated themselves to their seats, and Cheerilee went up to her desk.

"Alright, my little ponies," she said, all of the people reading this fanfic most likely facepalming. "Today is a special day for everypony in this classroom!"

I wonder what it is, Scootaloo thought to herself. Probably some lame project.

"Today, we have a--" Cheerilee was cut off by the sound of the door opening. A silhouette stood in the doorway.

"Ahem. Gentleponies?"
