Shadow mercenaries.

Night fell on the quiet town. The stars glistened in the late Fall air, as ponies walked throughout town closing shops, and returning home for a good nights rest.

The Caped Mercenaries quickly but silently rushed through town. Each of them breaking off to see their targets. Surge took off to the skies toward the Apple orchard, Frost making her way to Sugar Cube Corner, Dark Vine heading toward the Cottage near the Everfree forest.

Surge landed at the edge of a large apple orchard. Still in dead of night, a lone orange pony was walking through the orchard.

"Whew! What a day..." She mumbled to herself "Pinkie sure has some crazy parties"

Surge quickened his pace and followed behind her being completely silent

"Hello there" Surge said with smirk

"Gah!" She spun around instantly "Who-who are you?"

"That's none of your concern really" He took a step closer to her

"S-stay back! I'm warning you!"

"Oh no!" he gasped raising his hoof to his face "An Earth pony is threatening me! What ever shall I do?!?" He laughed  "Are you going to kick me?" he continued laughing almost falling to the ground from it ""Alright I'm going to kill you. Goodbye." He charged a bright yellow Spell into his horn then shot out at the Orange pony who swiftly dodged the attack

"Hey! Stay still, it'll only hurt for a second!" He shouted as the pony fled

He surrounded himself in electricity and began to chase the fleeing pony catching up to her in seconds, "You can't outrun me Earth pony" He laughed and shot electric bolts at her which she managed to dodge.

She quickly dashed into the trees losing his line of sight " Oh that is how we're going to play it?" He focused a bolt of lightning into the trees causing a fire

"No! My trees!" Apple Jack shouted "Why are you doing this?"

"You've been messing with someone. Someone who now wants you dead Applejack!" He continued to launch lightning bolts

The orange pony continued to run through the burning orchard as smoke started to fill the area. Surge landed and continued searching for AppleJack. He listened as the sound of hoof steps started to grow slower and the breathing got heavier.

"I can hear you tire AppleJack." He smirked "The sooner you come out. That faster your death will be" he shot another bolt into the orchard, the explosion's shock wave sent Applejack flying into the air. He laughed as he approached the Mare. AppleJack opened her eyes to the burning orchard around her, she looked up at the stallion partially covered by smoke as a bright yellow glow emitted from his horn.

A large boom echoed in the distance as weather ponies pulled large rain clouds to the site.  Dark Vine looked ahead of her seeing a cottage on a hill next to the forest in which she traversed the day before.

Vine knocked on the door and a soft voice called out from behind her "Umm, h-hi." Vine turned around to see a yellow pegasus accompanied by a large brown bear. "C-can I help you?" The large bear snarled at vine "That's not nice! You don't even know her yet!"

Dark Vine's horn started glowing with a dark green glow

"What are you doing?" Fluttershy panicked

"It seems you've been messing with the wrong pony. And now they want you gone." Her voice grew more insane

"G-gone?" Fluttershy coward behind the bear

"Gone." She giggled pschoticly

"What do you mean?" Fluttershy backed up farther

"I MEAN DEAD" She screamed and wrapped roots around the bear and Fluttershy

"H-Help me!!!" Fluttershy screamed causing the bear to slash through the roots with her large claws

"NO!"  Dark Vine screamed while surging  more magic into her horn causing more roots pushed through the floor surrounding Fluttershy and the bear, laughing menecingly, "

Fighting back is useless!" The roots surrounded the bear pulling the bear down into the ground  "And now you go silent" She giggled to herself

Fluttershy gasped  and backed up as the suddenly crazed Unicorn broke into another laugh

"S-stay  back!" Fluttershy yelled

"OR WHAT?" She stopped laughing and started toward the yellow pegasus "You're going to send another bear after me? You've seen what I can do! AND NOW! YOU WILL DIE" She surged magic into her horn causing roots to rise through the ground again

"No!" Fluttershy's instincts kicked in as she took to the skies

"NO, NO, NO,NO" She screamed and stamped her front hooves into the ground causing even more roots to reach into the air catching up to the weak pegasus and grabbing her hind leg pulling her to the ground instantly

The yellow pegasus tried to stand but was pulled down again by the roots

"This has been fun little pegasus" walking close to the pegasus "But all good things must come to an end" Her horn lit up again as the roots pulled Fluttershy down and again Dark Vine let out another psychotic laugh.
