Author's Note
I hope I got the personality of each character right! Shining Armor and Cadence will be brought into the next chapter.
I needed to do the prequel because the events before the actual story line is different than what happens in Modern Family.

Prequel: Before the Act
*In the CMC interview room*
“Well, the three of us accompanied Twilight and Flash Serenity to the Crystal Empire, since everypony in Ponyville was too busy ta watch over us,” Apple Bloom began.
“Yeah, Rarity had to make 20 copies of like, 5 different outfits by tomorrow, Applejack and Big Mac were busy taking care of fruit bats, Rainbow Dash was out at some sort of flight camp, thing-”
“She was at training for the Wonderbolts!” Scootaloo exclaimed, interrupting Sweetie Belle.
“Yeah, ANYWAYS, she was there, Pinkie Pie was in Canterlot plaining a huge party with Cheese Sandwich, and a whole bunch of the woodland creatures came down with a cold, so Fluttershy had to tend to them,” Sweetie Belle finished.
“It just so happened that when we were there, it was Princess Cadence’s and Shining Armor’s wedding anniversary, and Twilight thought it would be a good idea for us to make them a special anniversary breakfast,” Scootaloo said.
“Twilight said that she was gonna do it herself, but for sum reason, Princess Celestia said she an’ Flash were wanted in Vanhoover. Come ta think of it, why did they neeada’ go there?”
When Apple Bloom asked the other two, they all looked at each other, confused and began to think of various senarios in which Twilight and Flash needed to be in Vanhoover.
*Flashback to the morning before*
“Ah hope the Princess and Shinin’ Armor love the breakfast we made them!” Apple Bloom excitedly yelled as she flipped a heart shaped pancake from the pan to the plate.
The three fillies wanted their first anniversary breakfast to be extra special and extremely romantic. They made heart shaped everything, from pancakes to fruit, they even served their milk and juice in heart shaped glasses. Scootaloo entered the kitchen with some pink and white roses in her mouth, and placed them in the vase that was set on the tray the planned on carrying up to the couple’s room.
“How exciting is this?! Their first anniversary!” She happily yelled, her wings lifting her of the ground a couple of inches before they gave out.
“Hey, you know what?” Sweetie Belle asked as she put down a bowl of freshly cut strawberries onto the tray with her magic.
“We could get our cutie marks in anniversary planning, or for making breakfast in bed, or for cutting things into hearts, or, or, OR!”
The three fillies were jumping up and down with excitement when Twilight and Flash entered the room interrupting their little celebration.
“Ok girls, ok!” Twilight laughed upon seeing the girls jumping around the kitchen.
“You’re going to ruin your hard work, which by the way, looks delicious!”
Both Twilight and Flash took in the delicious aroma of pancakes and fruit that filled the kitchen.
“Yum! I think I’m going to have to hire the three of you as my personal chiefs! Who knew you all could cook like this? “Flash said as he gave Apple Bloom a nudge of approval.
“Yeah, Ah know, huh? We’re gonna be the best chiefs in all of Equertria!”
“CUTIE MARK CRUSAIDERS CHIEFS, YAY!!!!!!!!”
The three fillies began to cheer and jump around as they were doing before. Twilight and Flash just laughed at the trio excitement.
“Ok now, don’t make too much noise, and you better hurry and take your food upstairs before it gets cold.”
“Alrighty Twilight!” Apple Bloom nodded.
“It’s too bad you guys can’t stay and help us plan the rest of their day,” Sweetie Belle sadly said as she levitated the tray of breakfast.
“I’m sorry girls, but Shining Armor and Cadence said that they would be more than happy to watch over you three. Cadence wants to get to know you guys better. We won’t be gone for long, I promise,” Twilight reassured the girls.
“Hey, by the way, why are you guys needed in Vanhoover in the first place?” Scootaloo asked.
Twilight and Flash glanced at each other, both giving a nervous chuckle.
*In Twilight an Flash’s interview room*
“Princess Celestia didn’t have a royal duty for us,” Twilight said
“We need a break,” Flash finished for Twilight.
Both ponies look beyond tired, manes messy, bags underneath their eyes, Flash looked like he could drop any minute.
“I love the girls. Being around them is like a nonstop adventure. BUT, sometimes being around them is a bit too overwhelming. For example, the train ride here. They would not stop parading around about coming to the Crystal Empire,”
*Flashback to two days before*
“WE’RE GOING TO THE EMPIRE! WE’RE GOING TO THE EMPIRE! WE’RE GOING TO THE EM-PI-RE! YAY CRYSTAL EMPIRE!”
Flash and Twilight were hiding underneath the train seats with pillows covering their ears.
“YES GIRLS! WE’RE GOING TO THE CRYSTAL EMPIRE, NOW HUSH AND SIT!” Twilight yelled, but not loud enough to override the crusaders chanting. She suddenly felt shaking next to her wing. When she turned to look, she saw Flash rocking himself back and forth, with the look of fear on his face.
“Flash? Flash!”
“Empire….Going….Cheering…..So much cheering……”
*Back in Twilight and Flash’s interview room*
“Empire…..Going….Cheering…..So much cheering……”
“Flash, snap out of it! It’s ok, you’re fine now.” Twilight said as she placed her hoof on his, him rocking back and forth, shaking.
*The morning before*
“Oh, it’s, err……” Flash said, searching for the right words.
The crusaders started to look suspicious and glared at him, slowly walking towards him.
“Hehe, ummmm…”
“It’s top secret, ears for royalty only!” Twilight jumped in, giving them a nervous laugh.
“Uh-hun, suuuure.” Scootaloo said, eyeing both of them.
“Now, don’t the three of you have a breakfast to present?”
“Oh yeah! Come on girls, let’s not let the happy couple waiting!”
The three fillies trotted up the stairs, giggling and whispering about how surprised the Princess and Prince are going to be. Twilight giggled as she watched them make their way up the long, spiral staircase.
“Don’t worry girls! We’ll make sure to say bye before we leave!”
