Chapters Chapter 1: New school year
It was 7:00 in the morning at a quiet little street called Magic Drive. Twilight Amethyst Sparkle, a soon to be senior, blinked spots out of her eyes, got out of bed, and walked over to the mirror. Her hair was a mess. She took her brush, brushed her hair, and smiled. She was 17 with sapphire hair with purple and pink streaks, purple eyes, she was also 5"7 and the smartest girl in school. She soon begun to dress herself, putting on her favorite blue blouse and purple skirt with a big star and six little stars around it. She slipped on her socks, then her knee high boots. A pink ribbon was tied on her blouse. A knock came from her bedroom door. Her mother, Twilight Velvet, walked in. "New year." She sighed, smiling.
"I know, it's so exciting! I just hope that I'm in the advanced classes this year." Twilight admitted, a bit sheepish. Velvet hugged her daughter.
"Sunset's waiting for you outside, I told her that you both could walk to school, is everything ready?" Velvet asked, looking around Twilight's room. Twilight nodded and slipped on her favorite purple hand bag. She hugged Velvet and headed outside, with Sunset Shimmer waiting for her. Ever since Sunset and her became friends, Sunset now wore a green t-shirt, blue jeans, black sneakers, but still wore her favorite black jacket. Sunset was also 17, same height as Twilight, had red, orange, and yellow hair, like fire. Her eyes were an emerald green.
"Ready Twilight?" Sunset asked. Twilight nodded, and walked off to school with Sunset. As they were, a car horn beeped in the distance. Twilight and Sunset groaned, for they knew who was driving. Gilda Hawthorn and Lightning Dust. The two teens were also 17, but Gilda had a nose piercing and and always had a bad attitude. Lightning Dust was the same way, and she always kept her amber hair short. Lightning had amber eyes, a green shirt, black jeans, black sneakers, and her ears were pierced with tiny lightning bolt earrings. Gilda had brown eyes, auburn hair, a fur jacket, white shirt, black jeans, and black combat boots. Both of them were laughing. Gilda had a cigarette in her mouth. The both of them were bad about that.
"Hey! Sparkle! Why don't you dump that loser and hitch a ride to school with us?" Lightning asked, snickering. Twilight rolled her eyes with Sunset.
"No Lightning, I don't think I will. Sunset Shimmer is my friend, and I am perfectly fine walking to school with her." Twilight said assertively. Gilda and Lightning Dust seemed taken back by this.
"Seriously? You're friends with that bitch? After all she's done?" Gilda asked, raising an eyebrow. Twilight groaned.
"Me and the girls forgave Sunset for what she's done, now all of us are friends, and unlike you, we all have very good grades in school, now leave us alone before we get to the school and I get Professor Discord to handle this." Twilight threatened. Gilda and Lightning Dust shuddered. The last time they got in trouble with Professor Discord, it did not turn out well. Lightning Dust accelerated on the gas and the two drove off.
"Wow Twilight," Sunset whistled in appreciation, "I had not idea you'd be able to handle those two." She said. Twilight smiled.
"Oh you learn a thing or two from Rainbow Dash." The two girls smiled, and raced each other to the school. Rarity, Fluttershy, Pinkie Pie, Applejack, and Rainbow Dash were waiting for them. Rainbow walked over to them.
"Heard you had a run-in with Gilda and Lightning." She said. Twilight and Sunset nodded.
"Twilight actually managed it pretty well." Sunset said. Rainbow Dash's expression on her face did all the talking for her. Twilight nodded.
"All it took was standing up for Sunset, and maybe a little threat." Twilight winked. The other girls laughed, and walked into the school, ready to begin the new year.
Twilight and the girls had to head to the auditorium so they could find out what classes they'd have this year. Principal Celestia and Vice Principal Luna were up on the stage, along with Professors Discord, Sombra, Starlight, Chrysalis, Coach Spitfire, captain of the Wonder Colts team of the school, Professor Tirek, no student knew what he taught, and they didn't want to find out. Professor Whooves, the history teacher of the school, Twilight liked him, she had him for history last year, Bill Neigh, the Algebra teacher, and finally, the most wonderful teachers on campus, Twilight's brother and sister-in-law, Shining Armor and Cadence Mi Amore. Her last name was french, and Cadence taught French. Shining Armor was a secondary coach for track. Celestia tapped the mic. "Greetings class of 2015, today you will be assigned the teachers you will have throughout the school year." Luna handed Celestia a sheet with the students' names and which teacher they would have. "Now, when I call your name, come up and get your class schedule for the year. Whoever you get you will have for the school year." She said, and read the names in alphabetical order by last name. Finally, she got to Twilight. Twilight walked up nervously, took her schedule, and read it. Her eyes went wide as she glanced at the schedule. It read: 1st period: D. Whooves, 2nd period: C. Spitfire, 3rd period: K. Sombra, 4th period: B. Neigh, 5th period: C. Mi Amore, 6th period: Lunch, 7th period: J. Discord, and finally, 8th period: O. Melody, the french choir teacher of the school. Twilight had choir, she absolutely loved to sing. Twilight squealed in delight when she saw Cadence and her brother. Apparently, all of Twilight's friends were in the same classes as her.
"Aw yeah! Same classes again!" Rainbow Dash whooped as she and the others did a high five. Sunset laughed. It felt good having friends who cared about you. Unfortunately though, Gilda and Lightning Dust were in their gym class. Choir, they had Adagio, Sonata, and Aria for classmates. Professor Whooves caught up with them, with his favorite brown coat on.
"Twilight, might I have a word?" Professor Whooves asked. Twilight nodded. "So, how do you feel? Nervous? Excited?" He asked.
"Nervexcited?!" Pinkie asked. The others looked at her. "What?" She groaned.
"A bit of both, sir." Twilight answered. Doctor Whooves nodded.
"Look on the bright side, you've got me for History again!" He laughed. Twilight smiled, and ran off to catch her friends. When she did, a voice called out.
"Hey Dashie!" The voice called. Rainbow Dash groaned. Coming down the hall was a 17 year old teen, with rainbow colored hair like Rainbow Dash, same magenta colored eyes, he was wearing a white t-shirt with the same mark as Rainbow Dash, a blue jacket, blue jeans, and red sneakers. He was also 5"8, and very good at sports. This was Rainbow Blitz, Rainbow Dash's twin brother. Blitz smiled as he came over. "So, how's my favorite twin sister?" Blitz asked.
"If by favorite you mean beat me at every sport except soccer, then yeah, I'm fine." Rainbow said, looking away.
"Aw come on Dashie! Good news, I'm in the same classes as you guys!" Blitz whooped out loud. Rainbow face palmed. The one time she had the same classes with her twin brother. This wasn't going to turn out well. The other bad news was that she was stuck with him all year long. Way to go Rainbow, you had to pick the schedule that had Blitz in your classes. Rainbow thought in her mind. Blitz on the other hand was excited. "Well, we've got Coach Spitfire again for Gym, maybe, I don't know, a certain black haired Wonder Colt might notice you this year?" Blitz asked. Rainbow Dash went a bright shade of red.
"You mean Soarin Sky?" She asked nervously. Blitz nodded. He knew that his sister had a crush on one of the Wonder Colts here at Equestria High. Rainbow Dash was very nervous now, she had Gym not only with her brother and her friends, but she had Gym with Soarin Sky, the best Wonder Colt on the team. It was her dream to get into the Wonder Colts.
"Come on, we're going to be late for History." Sunset interrupted. Blitz and Rainbow nodded, and the eight of them walked off to first period.
Chapter 3: Dodgeball Trouble
After History class, Twilight and the girls headed off to Gym. Rarity didn't change at all, she was afraid she was going to ruin her beautiful nails. She sat on the bleachers, and begun painting them. Rainbow Dash and the others sat on the bleachers as well. Coach Spitfire came out and begun speaking. "Alright ladies, this year you're going to have my for Gym, and if so much as one of you thinks that you can get away with not changing for Gym, wrong!!!!!!" She was looking at Rarity, who jumped. "Now, today's class is Dodgeball. I'm sure all of you know how to play. I'm going to be dividing you into two teams. Rainbow Blitz and Flash Sentry, you're team captains." Twilight looked to her left. An 18 year old blue haired teen with blue eyes, a white shirt with a lightning bolt and shield, black jeans, and blue and black sneakers walked on to the floor. She knew him. Flash Sentry, the cutest guy in the whole school. Every girl wanted to get with him. Flash stood next to Blitz. Blitz picked first. Rainbow Dash, Roseluck, Pinkie Pie, Applejack, Lightning Dust, Adagio, and Sonata were on his team. Gilda, Fluttershy, Twilight, Rarity, Soarin, Night Glider, and Party Favor were on Flash's team. Spitfire blew her whistle and the game commenced.
"Twilight, hand me a ball!" Flash called. Twilight did, and Flash threw the ball directly at Blitz, who dodged with ease.
"Ha! Missed me Sen......." Blitz was cut off as another ball caught him square in the chest, knocking him over. "OK, that one I did not see coming." He said as he walked over to the bleachers. Rainbow Dash had two in her hand, and chucked them both at Gilda, one missing her, the other hitting her square in the head. Gilda shrieked as it did. Rainbow Dash laughed. Rarity shrieked as tons of dodgeballs came flying towards her. Pinkie Pie had a special way of throwing them. She had out her party cannon, and kept loading it with dodgeballs.
"FIRE!!!!!" She laughed, pulling the cord to fire the cannon. Flash dodged the ball flying towards him, throwing another directly at Pinkie. She was using her Pinkie sense to dodge them. Twilight was using mathematics to aim with trajectory. She threw her ball, hitting Lightning Dust right in the stomach. She fell over and growled, sulking over to the bleachers.
"I'm going to get her back for that." She muttered under her breath. Party Favor chucked a ball at Twilight, which Flash caught with ease. Party Favor walked over to the bleachers next to Blitz. Gilda was sitting next to Lightning Dust. After a few minutes, the only team members left were Flash, Twilight, Adagio, Sonata, Rainbow, Soarin, Night Glider, and Rose. Rainbow chucked a ball at Flash, who dodged it, chucking one back at Rainbow, which hit her in the waist. Eventually, Flash, Twilight, Adagio and Sonata were left. Flash and twilight chucked two balls at them, and both balls hit the former Dazzlings. Spitfire blew her whistle, and the bell for next period rang. As Twilight was walking out, Lightning Dust shut the door before she could.
"Oh no Sparkle, you're not going anywhere just yet." She had a wicked look in her eye. Gilda was punching her palm, smiling wickedly. Gilda began to approach Twilight in a menacing manner. Right before she did, Flash stepped in.
"But out, Sentry, this is none of your concern." Lightning said menacingly. Flash didn't back down. Lightning walked up to him. "Did you hear me, Sentry?" She asked. Flash then did what Twilight never thought he'd do, he pinned Gilda's and Lightning's arms behind them and then pinned them to the wall.
"Next time you think about threatening my friend, you better think twice before you do." Flash said, serious. Lightning and Gilda nodded, and ran off.
"Next time, Sparkle!" Gilda said, sticking up her middle finger before running off. Flash helped Twilight up.
"You OK?" He asked. Twilight nodded.
"Thank you." She said. Flash smiled.
"It's good to see you again, Twilight." He said. Twilight went a light shade of red. "Come on, I'll walk with you to class." Flash said. Twilight smiled, and walked with Flash Sentry to her next class.
At lunch later that day, the only reply Rainbow Dash could do was a very shocked look on her face. "Gilda and Lightning almost.....huh?!" She was still very shocked after Twilight had told them what happened after Gym class.
"Well, at least a certain guitar player came to the rescue." Rarity winked. Twilight turned a bright shade of red. Blitz just laughed. Rainbow socked him in the arm to get him to stop. As they were eating their lunch, smoke filled their air.
"Please don't tell me....." Blitz started. Two teens appeared out of the smoke, both with blue-white hair, blue eyes, one was wearing a blue dress with a purple cape and hat, the other was wearing a purple tux with a purple top, both were 17 and 5"7. Blitz knew them very well. "Oh great." He said.
"Behold, The Great and Powerful TRIXIE!!!!!" Trixie shouted.
"And The Great and Amazing Trixster!" Trixster shouted as well.
"Trixie and Trixster Lulamoon, twin brother and sister, and both like to stir up trouble, the bad kind." Blitz explained. Trixie's eyes glanced around the cafeteria, until she saw her.
"Twilight Sparkle." She laughed as she and Trixster walked over. Twilight shifted uncomfortably in her chair. Trixie just laughed.
"Leave her alone, Trixie." Rainbow Dash told her. Trixie gave Rainbow a threatening look, which made her sit back down.
"Twilight, I've noticed something about you," Trixie dropped her voice to a whisper, "I've noticed that you happen to have a crush on a certain blue hair guitar player, hmm? Well forget it, when the prom is around the corner, the one he'll be asking to go is me." Trixie laughed. Trixster snickered.
"Good luck trying to find a date, Sparkle." He laughed. Twilight just remained silent. Trixie and Trixster walked away laughing.
"Just ignore them, Twilight." Applejack said.
"Trixie is just a bitch who likes to stir up trouble." Rainbow said. At Gilda's table, Gilda and Lightning were talking to each other.
"I can't believe that bastard Sentry got in our way. Sparkle deserved what was coming to her." Lightning said. "I mean what does he even see in that nerdy bitch?" She asked, glancing at Twilight. "If anything....."
"Lightning! I get the damn point!" Gilda snapped. "Just shut up for a minute, I can't hear myself think." She said. Lightning just sat quietly and ate her lunch. "Maybe we can get Lulamoon to help us deal with Sparkle. Her brother, we can just use to help us get some dirt on Sparkle, maybe embarrass her enough to make not not want to go to prom." Gilda chuckled mischievously. Lightning laughed.
"I like the way you think, my friend." She chuckled mischievously. Twilight was eating her lunch in silence after what had just happened. As she was getting up to put away her tray, Gilda stopped dead in front of her.
"Hello, Sparkle." She laughed in a devious manner. Lightning was with her. Rainbow Dash saw what was going on.
"Oh shit, not this crap again." She groaned as she got up and walked towards them. Gilda saw her out of the corner of her eye.
"This is none of your business, Dash, this is between us and this bitch." Gilda said. Twilight was shaking.
"When it involves on of my friends, it is my business, Gilda." Rainbow Dash said. Lightning Dust growled. "What's your problem with Twilight anyway? If this is about Gym earlier, then just drop it. You have a problem with my friend, you have a problem with me." Rainbow said.
"So, you're standing up for this nerd? Nerdy girls are lame anyways. They get all the good grades, too smart for their own good, and on top of that, they're jealous the pretty girls get all the guys!" Gilda shouted, slapping Twilight, causing her to fall to the floor. Flash had gotten up to break up the situation. Twilight was on the ground in tears, with Rarity helping her up. Gilda and Lightning did a high five. Rainbow was fuming with anger now. Applejack had to step in and hold her back. Flash helped Rarity with Twilight.
"Easy, RD, easy girl. We'll handle this after school, not here." Applejack said, pulling Rainbow Dash away. Gilda stuck her tongue out, laughing.
"Hey Sentry, still think she's pretty enough to hang out with?" Lightning Dust asked in a teasing manner. Then, as they were just about to leave, Twilight smiled when she saw who was behind them. Lightning Dust and Gilda turned around to find Shining Armor. "Ah! Coach Shining Armor, what brings you here?" Lightning asked, innocent like. Shit! She thought.
"Lightning Dust and Gilda Hawthorn, you have detention for picking on my little sister." He said in the calmest way possible. The looks on Gilda's and Lightning's face's were of shock.
"She's your sister?!!! " Gilda asked in a shocked manner. Shining Armor pointed to the cafeteria door. Gilda and Lightning Dust sulked off. "Now we're in trouble." Gilda said.
"No shit, Sherlock!" Lightning yelled in anger. Shining Armor walked over to Flash.
"Is Twilight OK?" Shining Armor asked Flash. Flash nodded.
"Just a bruise on her left cheek, nothing more, Coach." He said. Shining Armor whispered something in Flash's ear, and he nodded. "Will do, Coach." He said. Twilight was still in tears from what just happened. Flash walked up to her. "Hey Twilight, how about after school I give you a lift home?" F;ash asked. Twilight nodded and smiled. Trixie was shocked.
"I'd love that, Flash. Thank you." Twilight smiled, blushing slightly. The bell rang for 7th period, and Twilight and the girls walked off to next period.
Chapter 5: Weekend hangout
After school that day, Flash dropped Twilight and the girls off at Twilight's house, smiled, and left. Twilight's face was still red after the ride. Rainbow had to push Twilight inside the house in order to get her in. Rainbow snapped her fingers to get her attention. Twilight's left cheek was still bruised from the slap from Gilda. "Gilda is going to pay for that." Rainbow said coldly as she sipped on her cider.
"She already has, RD, she and Lightning got detention from Coach Shining Armor for two days." Applejack said. Rarity begun painting her nails a lovely shade of purple.
"Would you like help with that, Rarity?" Fluttershy asked. Rarity smiled, and nodded. Fluttershy smiled as well, and helped Rarity with her nails.
"Gilda and Lightning are just jealous that Twilight gets all the good grades. They're just bitches who don't know how else to spend their time to start a damn fight with other students." Rainbow Dash said, shaking her head in exasperation. Applejack sipped on her cider.
"Look on the bright side Twi, your brother stepped in." She said. Twilight smiled, then went back to rubbing her left cheek. It still stung a little, but not as much as it did after Gilda had slapped her.
"I just hope Gilda and Lightning get I.S.S. if they screw up one more time." Rainbow said. Blitz laughed. He had on his headphones and was watching Youtube on his laptop. "Blitz! Time and a place." Rainbow sighed. Blitz closed his laptop and put away his headphones.
"Sorry sis, what I was watching was freaking hilarious." Blitz held down a laugh.
"Still, I can't believe the nerve of those two! What problem do they have with Twilight! She works just as hard as any one of us, why should Gilda and Lightning judge her on who she is?! So what if she's smart?" Rainbow groaned, falling on the couch in frustration. Pinkie Pie was watching Netflix on the T.V. What she was watching left Twilight's dog Spike in a state of confusion.
"Go pony me!" She whooped. "Party cannon? Pony me has a party cannon too?! Pony me is awesome!" Pinkie Pie laughed. Fluttershy walked over and saw what Pinkie was watching. She gasped at the yellow pegasus on the screen.
"Oh my goodness, is that us as ponies?" Fluttershy's face went from scared to excitement. Her eyes were focused on the screen now.
"Pony me has a party cannon!" Pinkie told her, sitting cross-legged with her.
"Pony me takes care of animals too!" Fluttershy squealed in delight. Velvet came into the living room with snacks.
"I've got snacks for everyone." She said. Twilight smiled.
"Thanks Mom." She said. Velvet smiled.
"Oh, Twilight, your father's working late tonight, so he won't be home till around ten or eleven." She said. Twilight nodded.
"Hey girls, you guys wanna stay over tonight?" Twilight asked. Rainbow nodded. Applejack, Pinkie, Rarity, and Fluttershy nodded as well.
"I'd love to if I weren't Rainbow's twin brother." Blitz laughed. "Anyways, I gotta hit the road. See ya, Dashie." Blitz smiled, walking out the door to his car and turned on the ignition. He soon drove off with his favorite shades on.
"My brother is always a ladies man." Rainbow Dash said, shaking her head. "Come on girls, let's get changed into our pajamas." She said. Twilight and the others nodded, and headed upstairs to get ready for the epic sleepover they were about to have.
Chapter 6: Outside surprise
As Twilight and the girls were getting ready for their sleepover, Twilight just remembered something. "Oh shoot! I'll be right back girls, I have to take out the trash before my dad gets home." She said. The girls nodded, and waited for Twilight. Twilight took the garbage bag out to the corner, and just before she was about to walk back inside, a dark figure tackled her to the ground. Twilight gasped, for it was Lightning Dust and Gilda. "Not this again, this is getting old." Twilight said. Lightning put a hand over her mouth.
"Shut it, nerd. You're lucky we don't just pick on you right now. No, I think we'll tease you a little bit." Lightning smiled in a menacing manner. Gilda laughed.
"Oh man, this'll be funny to watch." Gilda snickered. Twilight's eyes were full of fear when Lightning Dust pulled something out of her pocket, a pocket knife.
"This is going to sting a little bit, but you deserve it, bitch." Lightning whispered in Twilight's ear. Twilight couldn't make a sound, for Lightning's hand was still covering her mouth. Lightning laughed as she brought her knife to Twilight's arm. "Let's do this in a slow manner, so you feel the full pain of it." She said, a wicked look in her eyes. As she was about to, Rainbow Dash ran outside and tackled Lightning. Rainbow Dash was now on top of her, looking at her straight in the eye.
"That's enough." Rainbow said. "No one is hurting my friend, especially a couple of jerks like you." She said, her anger fuming. Gilda tried to get Rainbow Dash off Lightning, but Rainbow kicked Gilda in the chest, causing Gilda to curse and come back with a clenched fist. Twilight was in shock as her friend was protecting her.
"Damn it!" Gilda yelled as she missed Rainbow Dash. Pinkie and the others came out to see what was happening.
"Oh hell no, not this again!" Applejack said as she raced out to help Rainbow Dash. She had her favorite lasso with her, tied up the two attackers, and tied a tight knot. "Now, I don't know what's gotten into y'all, but you'd better stop going after Twilight, she didn't do a gosh darn thing to you." She said.
"Yes she did," Gilda fumed, "she was born!" Gilda struggled her way out of the knot, but it was no good.
"Now, we're going inside to call the police and report this, but so help me, if this happens again, I'll personally make sure that Principal Celestia knows about your actions!" Rarity yelled at them. Lightning and Gilda remained silent after that threat. The last thing they need was Principal Celestia to find out what they had done. They'd be expelled for sure.
"Diva bitch." Lightning Dust spat. Rarity had lost it. She slapped the both of them unconscious, and they lay on the ground out cold.
"Never, ever , call me that again." Rarity huffed. "I've had enough of these two, Rainbow Dash." She told Rainbow. Rainbow agreed.
"Agreed, but then why go after Twilight? What do they got against her? Her good grades? How smart she is?" Applejack asked. Fluttershy had been watching the whole time. She wasn't really one for violence. Twilight had gotten up with the help of Pinkie Pie, who wasn't smiling now, but worried. She had bruises all over her.
"Thanks girls, I'd be in a lot worse condition if you guys hadn't stepped in." Twilight said.
"It's what friend are for, darling." Rarity said, putting an arm around Twilight and helping her inside. Applejack and Rainbow stayed outside to watch Lightning and Gilda.
"They could have killed Twilight, or worse." Rainbow said. "I can't believe I was friends with these two." She sighed. "Are they mad about what happened in Gym today?" She asked. "God damn it, even I let stuff like that go, that was just a friendly game of Dodgeball, and yet these two idiots act like it was more than that." Rainbow Dash said.
"Well, let's not forget prom night is a few months away." Applejack said. Rainbow Dash blushed and looked away. She wanted Soarin Sky to ask her, but she didn't know if he would.
"Come on, let's go inside and help Twilight out." Rainbow said. Applejack nodded, and followed her rainbow haired friend back inside the house. Outside, the police had arrived to take Gilda and Lightning Dust home. Twilight's mom was going hysterical over what had happened.
"I'm just glad my Twily is alright." Night Light said over the phone. "Tell her I'll be home in a few minutes, oh and honey? Tell RD and the girls I said Hi." Night Light said. Velvet nodded, and hung up the phone.
"Your father's on his way home Twilight, you were lucky that your friends were here to help, oh, you have such wonderful friends." Velvet was in tears. Twilight hugged her. "But why would Gilda Hawthorn and Lightning Dust be after you?" She asked. Twilight shrugged.
"I don't know mom, but with Shining Armor and Cadence at school they won't even think about bothering me." She said.
"Oh I am so glad your brother took up a job there. He did it for you, you know." Velvet smiled.
"Shining Armor and Cadence got a job at the school for me? " Twilight said, changing a light shade of red. Velvet nodded.
"He is such a wonderful brother." She cried in tears of joy now. Twilight did too, and hugged her mom. Later that night, Twilight was fast asleep, and she was dreaming about her and a certain blue hair guitar player......at the prom, dancing the night away.
Chapter 7: Weekend Golfing
Twilight and the girls headed out next morning to go to the Sports Cone, a golfing place a couple miles from Twilight's house. Sunset was with them, laughing for Rainbow Dash had told a funny joke on the way there. Rarity was walking with Twilight, for Twilight had something to tell the girls when they got there. They paid for their clubs and golf balls, and began to golf. "So what is you wanted to tell us, Twilight?" Rarity asked as she putted her ball, getting a hole in one. Rarity squealed in delight.
"It's about a dream I had last night." Twilight said. "I dreamed about me and Flash at the prom coming up soon." Twilight blushed. Rarity gasped in delight.
"Twilight, don't tell me you like Flash?" Rarity said, smiling a little. Twilight nodded sheepishly. "Oh darling, love is nothing to be ashamed of. Love is a wonderful thing! I wonder how Flash feels about you." Rarity said, thinking. Then, Twilight saw a black car with a shield and lightning bolt on the hood and doors, the license plate read: FlashSentry06. Twilight squeaked and hid. Flash stepped out, locking his car with his keys.
"Hey guys." Flash said as he walked over. Rarity and the others smiled and waved. "I was wondering if Twilight was here." Flash asked. Rainbow Dash pushed a nervous Twilight out of the corner. Twilight waved, then hid again. Rainbow face palmed. She put a hand up saying: 'Give me a minute.' Rainbow Dash then got Twilight out and sat her down. Twilight was blushing a deep red. Flash then sat next to her. "How are you, Twilight?" He asked.
"I'm fine, though my cheek still hurts a bit thanks to Gilda." Twilight rubbed her left cheek, it wasn't much now, just a soft red mark faded into the skin.
"I heard about what happened last night, you're lucky you've got such good friends." Flash said. Twilight blushed again.
"So Flash, what brings you here?" Sunset asked as she hit her ball into the hole.
"Just came to golf with you, if that's OK with Twilight." Flash asked, smiling. Twilight nodded, smiling. Flash paid for his club and ball, with were a dark blue and black. Twilight tried to hit the hole with hers, but missed. She sighed in frustration. Flash then walked up behind her. "Here, let me show you how." Flash was behind her now, holding her arms gently and showing her how to hit the hole in one shot. Rainbow Dash giggled. She blushed after Rarity looked at her.
"I think Twilight gets nervous every time she's around Flash." Fluttershy said. Applejack nodded.
"Every time she even sees him, she goes nervous." She said.
"Twilight just likes him, darling, plus, prom is coming up soon, in about what, six months?" Rarity said. "Surely she's got to be nervous about it." She explained. Rainbow Dash agreed. She had a crush on Soarin, so she was in the same boat as Twilight.
"It's nice of Flash to show Twilight how to golf." Pinkie said, sipping on a can of Dr. Pepper. Sunset was on the last hole, and shot her ball.
"Hole in one!" She squealed in delight. "That's going in this years memories." She smiled. As Twilight and the girls were golfing, two teenagers were spying on them. One was 17 with a goatee, the other didn't have anything. Both of them had brown eyes, black hair, green and hazardous yellow striped shirts, black jeans, and black sneakers. Both were 5"8, and had a bad attitude. 'Arry and Bert Hawkins, the two most troublesome teens of the whole school. 'Arry stuck his tongue out in disgust.
"Romance, bleh! Bro, remind me never to fall in love." 'Arry said to his brother, Bert.
"Don't you worry, bro, we'll get Gilda and Lightning Dust to help us deal with Sentry and Sparkle." Bert said. "Until then, we just have to wait."
"Wait until what?" 'Arry asked. Then, they heard Gilda's car horn, and Gilda and Lightning stepped out, their faces mean and in a bad mood.
"Sparkle and her friends are here." Gilda groaned. Lightning Dust put a hand on Gilda's shoulder.
"Don't you worry, Gilda, it's not her friends we're after. 'Arry, Bert, come on." Lightning said to the two twins.
"Where?" Bert asked. He was just an inch taller than Lightning. 'Arry was as tall as her.
"We're going to go get Trixie, and start our own little group." Gilda laughed deviously. "It's called: Bad to the Bone." Gilda smiled wickedly.
"Bad to the Bone, I like it." 'Arry smiled deviously. They soon got in Gilda's car and drove off. After about two hours, Flash and the others left the Sports Cone and Twilight waved goodbye to Flash, still blushing.
"Come on, Juliet," Rainbow laughed, "let's get you home." She smiled. Twilight and her friends walked back down the street, back to Twilight's.
Chapter 8: A very Sparkle birthday
A few months went by for the girls. They were now on their Christmas vacation. For Twilight's parents, it was a special time of year. It was special for them because Twilight was born on Christmas day. It was the best Christmas present Velvet and Night Light had gotten. Twilight was never told this, until this year. Twilight walked in the door with two cups of hot chocolate in her hands, one for her mom, and one for her dad. "Thanks, sweetie." Night Light hugged Twilight. She smiled.
"Mom, you were going to tell me why Christmas is so special for our family today, right?" Twilight asked her mom. Night Light looked at Velvet.
"Oh that's right, I did. Pull up a seat, honey." Velvet said. Twilight pulled up a chair and sat down. "Now, this might be a bit shocking and a bit exciting." Velvet sighed. "Twilight, remember the day we had you? Well, that day was Christmas day." Velvet smiled. The surprised look on Twilight's face answered for her.
"I was born on Christmas? The actual holiday?" Twilight asked, starting to get a bit excited. Velvet nodded.
"It was the best gift me and Velvet could ever ask for, Twily." Night Light smiled. Twilight got up and hugged her parents. Then, the doorbell rang. Rainbow Dash, Rarity, Applejack, Fluttershy, Pinkie Pie, and Sunset were outside the door. Twilight opened the door and smiled.
"Hey girls!" Twilight squealed in delight as Rainbow Dash and the others walked in. Sunset smiled and hugged Twilight.
"Happy birthday, Twilight." Sunset said. Twilight smiled.
"18 now, sugarcube, how's it feel?" Applejack asked. Twilight still couldn't believe she was 18 now.
"It feels spectacular!" Twilight laughed in delight. Pinkie Pie jumped right to the T.V. to see more of pony her.
"Ooh! Ooh! Twilight! Pony me is ice-skating!" Pinkie laughed. Twilight came over to the T.V. with Pinkie and gasped at the sight of a purple unicorn with purple eyes just like hers, and the same pink star and white stars on her.
"Is that me? " Twilight gasped. Pinkie nodded, then laughed after pony Twilight fell on the ice.
"Oh man, our pony-selves are hilarious!" Pinkie Pie laughed. Spike was watching his dragon-self.
"Oh! There's Professor Whooves!" Rainbow Dash exclaimed, pointing to a brown stallion with a hourglass cutie mark on the T.V.
"I think it's Doctor Whooves on that show, RD." Applejack smiled. Rainbow Dash gave her a look of seriousness, then burst out laughing.
"Oh! Twilight! I just remembered! Girls! Twilight's gifts!" Rainbow said, The other girls jumped in nervousness and scrambled outside to get Twilight's gifts. Rarity's was purple nail polish, Rainbow's was the newest Daring Do book, Applejack's was a photo of when she, Twilight, and the girls first met, Pinkie's was earrings like Twilight's star on her skirt, Fluttershy's gift was a new hair brush, and Sunset's gift was something very special. Sunset's gift was her old jacket that she always wore, but it was purple and blue.
"Sunset, thank you." Twilight smiled, hugging Sunset ans the girls. They smiled as well. Just then, the doorbell rang again, and Flash Sentry was outside.
"Hey, just came by to wish Twilight a happy birthday." Flash smiled, waving to Twilight's parents, "and give her this." Flash handed Twilight a small slip of paper saying Spring Prom invite. Twilight gasped. "I was wondering if you'd like to go." Flash said, rubbing his head. Twilight was in tears of joy.
"Oh Flash, I'd love to go." Twilight smiled, and hugged him. Flash smiled. Twilight retracted quickly, blushing a deep red. "Thank you." Twilight said, still blushing.
"Spring Prom is a few months away right?" Velvet asked, looking at the invite.
"I got these two in advance." Flash said, smiling. "If it's OK for me to go with your daughter." Flash asked.
"Flash, you are more than welcome to go to prom with our daughter." Night Light smiled. "Come in, come in, this is Twilight's 18th birthday party after all." He said. Flash walked in, and gasped. Twilight's house was so wonderful, he didn't know what to say, until he saw an orange pegasus with a blue mane and tail, and the cutie mark was the same mark on his shirt. "No way, that's me?" Flash laughed. "Awesome!" He whooped. Twilight was still blushing, so Rarity helped Twilight upstairs.
"Girls, help me with Ms. Juliet here." Rarity smiled. The girls did. Twilight was the most happiest of all because she was going to spring prom with the blue haired guitar player of her dreams.
March came around rather fast for the girls, they were surprised how fast winter had gone by. Twilight was still excited over one fact, she was going to prom with Flash Sentry. She couldn't stop thinking about it, and not only that, Rainbow had finally been asked to go with Soarin. Rainbow Dash was also very excited. Gilda, Lightning, 'Arry, and Bert were sitting at their table at lunch that day, glancing at Twilight. "I can't believe Sentry asked her to go to prom with him, why didn't he ask one of us?" Gilda groaned. "Why would he go with that bitch?" She sighed as she ate her lunch. Lightning knew why.
"Sparkle over there has had a crush on Sentry ever since 9th grade, Gilda, so of course Sentry would buy the damn tickets in advance. Who the hell are we supposed to go with?" Lightning said, putting her hand on her forehead. Bert cleared his throat. Lightning glanced in their direction. "Well, you two aren't exactly our first choices, but eh, why not?" She shrugged. Bert and 'Arry ate their lunch in silence. Rarity was talking to Twilight about how exactly prom would go.
"Now Twilight, since you're going to prom with Flash, we'll need to go shopping." Rarity laughed as she said that. She loved shopping. "Now darling, let's see what we'll need." Rarity said. Twilight thought for a moment.
"I know I'll need a dress, and heels. I'm not really a heel person though." Twilight was nervous.
"It's only for one night, darling, but think about it, you and Flash dancing the night away in each other's arms, oh, so romantic!" Rarity smiled. "Perhaps a nice pair of earrings as well?" Rarity asked, before noticing the earrings the girls got her for her birthday. "Oh right, those are covered. Now, dress and heels. Those are going to be hard. Hmm. Twilight, after school, we're going prom shopping." Rarity told Twilight.
"I think I know what dress I want, I saw it in the display window, and I think I've got enough for it and the heels." Twilight said, thinking. Rarity nodded. "Rarity, why are you helping me with prom?" Twilight asked.
"Darling, love is a wonderful thing! Plus, I know you, Twilight, I know you've had a crush on Flash since, what, 9th grade?" Rarity asked. Twilight blushed light red and nodded. "Besides, I am a clothing designer, after all." Rarity said. "Rainbow, after I help out Twilight, I'll make you a homemade dress and see what you think of it." Rarity told Rainbow Dash. Rainbow nodded.
"Don't you worry, sugarcube, prom will go alright as long as Gilda and Lightning don't try to ruin your night." Applejack said. Sunset put a hand on Twilight's shoulder.
"Twilight, prom is nothing to be worried about, but when girls do go, they try to make it the best night of their lives, especially if they're in senior year like us. This is our last year here, let's make it a good year." Sunset smiled. Twilight smiled as well.
"Thanks, girls." Twilight hugged them. After school, Twilight and Rarity went dress shopping. Once Twilight found the dress she wanted, she went to go try it on. When she came out, Rarity gasped. Twilight was in a purple dress with her pink star and white stars on the hip of the dress, and she was wearing black heels.
"Twilight, you look simply divine, darling!" Rarity laughed in delight. "Oh this dress will most certainly do! Perfect!" Rarity said, glancing at the dress. Twilight blushed.
"But will Flash like it?" Twilight asked nervously. Rarity thought for a moment.
"I know he will, darling. Now, let us get you ready for your big night!" Rarity said. Twilight paid for her dress and heels, and the two of them headed to Rarity's to get Twilight ready for her big night.
Chapter 10: Best night of the year
It was 7:00 that night. Twilight was waiting outside Rarity's for Flash, when she heard a car horn. Flash pulled up to the side of the curb, and stepped out. He gasped when he saw Twilight. Flash was wearing a black tux, black dress pants, black dress shoes, blue tie, and a red flower on his tux. "Twilight, you look.....amazing." Flash said. Twilight blushed. "Ready to go?" Flash asked, extending his arm. Twilight took it.
"Ready." She smiled. They arrived at the school a few minutes later, and Vinyl Scratch was the DJ.
"Good evening, everybody!" She said. "Welcome to the Spring Prom! Last prom of the years, ladies and gentlemen, let's make it a good one!" Vinyl pumped up the music, and soon everybody started dancing. Rainbow and Soaring were slow dancing. Rainbow was blushing. Flash and Twilight were having some punch before they danced.
"I can't believe this is the last prom of the year." Flash said. He sipped some of his punch. Gilda and Lightning Dust were dancing with 'Arry and Bert. He extended his arm to Twilight. "Care to dance?" He asked. Twilight blushed and nodded. They headed onto the dance floor and began slow dancing. Gilda and Lightning saw this as an opportunity to ruin Twilight's night. They sneaked away with 'Arry and Bert over to the mic. Gilda tapped it.
"Hey everybody, our favorite nerd Twilight here happens to have a crush, on Sentry!" Gilda laughed. Twilight saw what they were doing. She looked at Flash, blushed, embarrassed, and ran outside.
"Twilight, wait!" Flash called. He ran after her and found her outside, sitting on a bench. She was in tears. "Twilight." Flash said.
"Just leave me alone, Flash, this night just got ruined." Twilight said, sniffling. Flash sat down next to her, and wiped away her tears.
"Is it true, that you have a crush on me?" Flash asked. Twilight nodded.
"Ever since 9th grade, I've developed feelings for you, I just didn't know if you liked me or not." Twilight said, tears forming in her eyes. Flash touched her hand gently.
"Twilight, I felt the exact same way." Flash said, comforting her. "I had no idea." He told her. Twilight looked at him. They gazed into each other's eyes.
"Flash, you liked me as well?" Twilight asked. Flash nodded.
"Yes, and the reason I asked you to come to prom with me is because, well, oh how do I put this, I care about you, Twilight." Flash told her. Twilight blushed a light red. Flash chuckled. "You look cute when you blush." He smiled. Twilight smiled as well. Then, after a moment of gazing into each other's eyes, their lips joined in a wonderful sensation. The kiss lasted for about 12 seconds. Twilight and Flash both blushed afterwards. Flash looked up at the sky, it was clear and starry. "Twilight, may I have this dance?" Flash asked, taking her hand. Twilight nodded and smiled.
"I'd love to dance with you, Flash." She smiled. They walked away from the bench, and soon began slow dancing. Rainbow Dash and the others whooped silently. Rarity smiled.
"Our Twilight has finally found love." She said, smiling. Pinkie Pie had to smile. Sunset smiled as well.
"Way to go, Twilight, way to go." She said. Twilight and Flash were dancing the night away, under the beautiful starry sky. This was the best night of their lives, for they were now boyfriend and girlfriend. Twilight put her head under Flash's chin. He smiled.
"I love you, Flash." Twilight told Flash.
"I love you too, Twilight." Flash told her, before kissing her once more. Rarity fainted after they did, of happiness of course. Rainbow Dash also had gotten a boyfriend, Soarin, who put his arm around her, smiling.
"I knew those two would end up together." Soarin smiled. Rainbow Dash did too. Gilda and Lightning Dust? Oh they were kicked out due to their mischief. 'Arry and Bert along with them. The four of them groaned as they were driven home. Flash drove Twilight home after the prom, and hugged her. Velvet and Night Light smiled when they saw Flash and Twilight holding hands up to the door. Twilight gave them a thumbs up meaning her and Flash were now a couple. Velvet was in tears of joy.
"My little girl is all grown up." She sniffed, smiling. Night Light smiled as well.
"Best.....night.....ever!" Twilight whooped in delight. It was indeed.
3 months later.......
Flash was going through his locker for the final time. Twilight caught up with him and smiled. "Hey, just cleaning out my locker for the final time." He said. As he was, he dropped a photo. Twilight picked it up, and smiled. It was the photo taken of them at prom.
"I'm so glad we get to spend summer together." Twilight smiled. "We'll get summer jobs!" She said in delight. Flash chuckled.
"I'd like that, just as long as it's the same job you're in." Flash kissed Twilight's cheek. She blushed. Flash entwined his fingers in Twilight's and walked out the door for the final time. "Ready?" He asked. Twilight nodded. Flash opened the door to his car, then got in the driver's side. He turned on the ignition, and soon drove off, with Twilight in the passenger seat, her hair blowing in the wind. Flash turned on the radio, and the song We Found Love began to play. Twilight smiled.
