Being the written equivalent of the long distance missile, you charge the letter with as much hatred, dissapointment and feelings that you have, and send it away, with the sole purpose of causing so much damage as possible. To make the other pony understand how much they hurt you, and hoping that they will hurt almost as much, or more.

But in one way, the letter is superiour to the missile. While the missile only hits once, the letter will be there and readable many times, causing more damage for every time it is read.
