It would be so easy... why were the most evil things the easiest to pull off? I looked towards the kitchen, eyeing a few knives buried hilt deep in blocks of wood. So easy but with so many consequences. I looked back down at my hooves, no blemishes marking the soft blue surface, nary a scar to be seen. But why did I have the urge to change that? Why did I have the urge to make the blade twenty feet away from me sing with blood? Be it my own or some other unfortunate shmuck I came across. 'Do it... I heard the voice echo from inside me head, it's sweet, glossy suggestion giving me chills. If I hurt myself ponies would know, I would be treated like glass, and most likely have to go to therapy. That was off the table, I couldn't have any scars that are easily seen or I don't have a sufficient  lie to make up for them. 'There's only one option...' The voice popped back into my head, feeding on my doubt, too bad I didn't care. I hopped off my spot on the couch and trotted over towards the kitchen... last chance to back down. The urge was still strong is I levitated the largest knife I could find; I found it a but odd that we had a knife of such caliber in this house. What would we use it for? A going away present from my mother, I don't know what was going through her mind when she bought them for me but I was glad she did. The blade was about the size of a chocolate bar, the blade not very thick but for what I needed it for, it would be sufficient. I slipped on a black hoodie and stuffed the blade into one of the pockets, I picked my keys up on the way out, good thing my room mate was out of town for the week. I shut the door behind me and levitated a key into the door and heard it click. I twisted the doorknob and pushed to make sure it was actually locked, it didn't give way so I trotted away from the door towards a park. It was rather dark out but that suited me just fine, it would help quite a bit now that I thought about it. Murdering a pony in broad day light wouldn't be the best of plans now would it? I heard a sound as I neared the park, whistling. I eagerly moved towards the noise, spying a mint coloured coat in the gloom. She spotted me a few steps away from her. "Hi there." I said with a quick smile. "Hello" the mare said,  I noticed a golden harp on her flank. "Mind if I join you?" "I don't see why not." We trotted in silence for a bit when finally she broke it. "So, any particular reason you are taking a midnight stroll through a park?" "Not really" I lied. "My house just felt a bit stuffy so I thought I would take a walk to clear my head" and maybe yours too... She nodded in affirmative. "It seems we both had the same idea" she said with a smile. "It seems like it."  We kept walking for a few feat when she turned towards me again. "My name is Lyra by the way." "Mine is Storm Heart." I said with the friendliest smile I could imagine, she seemed like a nice mare... shame. She kept walking forward but I stopped and let her take a dew steps ahead of me. "Is something the matt-"  I whipped out the knife with my magic and plunged it into the back of her neck, cutting her off, she floundered for a bit trying to draw in a breath through her ruined throat. When she finally gave up I pulled the knife out of her neck and ran the blade along her coat to clean it. That was kind of anticlimactic. 'I bet it gets better the more you do it.' The voice whispered in the back of my mind. Logically that made no sense, it is shown that the more you do something the less exciting it gets. But I had nothing better to do and nothing much to lose so I trotted into the gloom to inky darkness to look for my next victim. "Hey!" I heard a voice call from behind me, I turned around to face a cream coloured earth pony mare with a cutiemark bearing a few candies. "Have you seen my friend Lyra by any chance? A unicorn mare, mint coloured, with a golden harp on her flank?" I looked at her blankly it took me a few seconds to respond. "Oh yes! She went that way!" I pointed roughly towards the way I came. "Would you like me to show you where I last saw her?" "That would be very helpful, thanks!" When would ponies ever learn not to trust strangers... I walked into the direction of the corpse with her close on my hooves. She seemed fine with letting the silence reign, which was perfectly fine with me. We reached the corpse in a few minutes of walking, the cream coloured mare rushing to her friends side with tears streaming down her face. I pulled the blade out and repeated the process. This just left me feeling hollow, detached, like I was watching somepony else dictate my actions. I walked home, only pausing to drop the knife into a nearby ditch. I unlocked the door pulled off my hoodie and dragged my body into bed. 'Goodnight...' Ponyville Press!
