The pony paradigm

"Alright Spike, you ready?" Twilight asked as she readied up her horn. Spike on the other hand was running around the library trying to find some sort of parchment to recorded the results of this test. Oh how he loathed when Twilight would spontaneously ask him to take notes on her latest spell. Nonetheless she did raise him from his egg form, so he couldn't really argue.

~~~
"Alright Anton, you got the sample ready for analysis?" Alden bellowed out from the confinements of his lab. Anton however was rushing through the hallway with the sample fresh off the press. Every second he wasted in the hallway is a second the sample could be examined. Each second that passed could put this whole operation under. To say Anton was stressed was an understatement.
~~~

"Just one second Twilight!" Spike yelled back as his mother/sister yelled that she was about to begin the preparations and that she didn't have much time on her hooves. "Could of waited for me to get the scroll." Spike mumbled underneath his breath.

"What was that!?" Twilight yelled from the ground floor. Stupid pony hearing. Spike cursed mentally as he ran back down the stairs with a couple scrolls in his claw.

~~~
"time's a wastin Anton! I don't know about you but the possibilities of a Nobel prize appearing on my lap are very low." Alden snapped as the sample could already be long gone by now. I swear my assistant takes his marry time at the most inappropriate moments. I think I might have to let him go after this experiment is finished.
It was at this time that Anton busted through the lab doors, his white lab coat flapping all over the place. "I got it right here, no signs of decay yet Dr. Alden!" Anton claims rushing to place the sample on the lab desk.
~~~

"Start taking notes Spike!" Twilight grumbled as she built up the spell. As time went on the spell grew larger and larger until there was a visible white orb sitting on top of her horn. "I can't hold it much longer Spike!" She yelled out gritting her teeth. Spike I swear if you don't hurry up I'm revoking my number one assistant complement from earlier.

On the other side of things Spike was writing down notes expeditiously. Any second now and he could see his hand cramping up and Twilight disowning him. The thought stuck fear into the little drake and he continued to write whatever his two little eyes could see.

~~~
Anton placed the sample on top of the lab bench softly. Having zero tolerance for wasting time Alden started to get to work. "You do realize with this sample, we could potentially prove Quantum theory and String theory in one shot?" you question your partner.
"Y-yes Dr. Alden" Anton stuttered out as he looked around the lab for the various tools and materials that they would need to complete the experiment.
"Then why in the high heavens are you still taking your sweet ass time!" Dr. Alden was quick to yell out. "Times a ticking Anton where's my Bunsen burner!"
~~~

"Almost done Twilight just a few more notes and I will have everything jotted down." Spike commented as his writing hand fearlessly attacked the parchment in front of him.

"Easy for you to say!" Twilight retorted as the light started to turn a soft lavender color. Twilight's eyes where shut closed and anypony could see the visible strain that she was experiencing. "I don't think I can keep it up any longer!" She yelled as the wooden floor beneath her hooves cracked around her.

~~~
Alden held the sample over the flame as he recorded the various gasses and reactions that came with it. His smile only got larger as the readings that he was... well reading where following his predictions. Any second now and he would be crowned and cemented in history as the one physicist that actually discovered the origins of the universe. Sure the religious people will have an uprising, but the truth is all that matters.
~~~

"I got it all Twilight, you can cast the spell!" Spike yelled out over the whistling of the wind and the crackling of magic in the air. The whole site was to amazing to look away from, little bits of lavender lighting shot out from the large spell. If Spike was any closer he was sure that he would be incinerated.

With the command leaving Spikes mouth Twilight let the spell loose.

~~~
Almost there, almost there! Any second now and I will have the desired reaction! Alden stated to himself as he held the sample over the flame, watching as it slowly evaporated away. When just a little was left the sample exploded in a bright white light blinding Alden while tossing Anton across the room.
"Impossible!" Alden yelled out before being pulled by an unknown force.
~~~

The bright spell hit the floor hard causing the entire library to shake violently. It was at this time where Twilight made the quick observation that she should of done this spell outside. Nonetheless it was too late and the spell was already starting to take effect as it started to spit out random objects; such as test tubes, beakers, vials filled with an unknown substances and lastly a creature.

The last one took her by surprise as it tumbled out of the small portal she had created and kept rolling till it hit one of her beloved bookshelves. With gravity doing its thing the books upon the bookshelf fell on top of the creature.

~~~
Bursting out of the pile of books that lay on top of him, Alden busted out into a scientific induced rage. "FUCKING HELL! I WAS SO CLOSE!" He yelled kick a book upon the ground. He didn't even bother to wonder why so many books lay on the floor of his lab, he was just to pissed.
"PIECE OF SHIT! GOD DAMMIT! SHIT!" He continued to yell out as he walked around exhausting his wide vocabulary of curses. How the hell did that sample even explode! It's not even possible for it to! He pondered to himself, however it happened so that means it's possible.
His ranting and destroying all came to a halt as soon as he bumped into an object in front of him and fell back down to the cedar floor. Wait cedar floor? My lab floor was made out of a black plastic. Shooting back up Alden looked around the place he was in.
It was certainly not his lab, for all around him lay multiple bookcases engraved into the wooden walls. In the center of the room lay a simple wooden coffee table along with some couches and chairs accompanying it. This is when he took note of the size of the chairs and table, they were way to small in size for comfortable human use.
The only reasonable explanation was that he was in a Japanese tea room. Why he was in there and not back in his lab confused him to no end. Which in itself was an achievement, not much confused Alden.
It was at this time that Alden turned around and looked to what he tripped over. Laying down on the floor dazed was a purple Unicorn/Pegasus hybrid. More question raced through his mind as he further examined the horse upon the ground. Now Alden was not one for a quite analysis so he spoke everything that was flowing through his mind.
"Creature is defiantly of equine origins, however it seems to have evolved differently. Perhaps it is also related to the bird and narwhal families." Alden let in a large breath before speaking again. "Coat is colored a shade of lavender and has a mark upon its flank. Logical deduction would say that someone had a bit too much time on their hands."
Without asking or warning, Alden walked up to the creature and bent down to get eye level with it. "Creature does not seem to be hostile, yet it seems to be in a state of shock which is called for seeing my rather dramatic entrance into its habitat. Equine seems to be one fourth the size of a normal horse, maybe its descendant of the pony."
Brining his hand up Alden ran his fingers along the length of the horn. Twilight on the other hand was still frozen in shock. "Horn seems to be made out of bone, this could further the point of one of its ancestors being a narwhal." Continuing with the examination he moved his hand to the fur then to the wings. "Fur thickness claims that it lives in a place where seasons change regularly. Wings are way to small in proportion to its size and..." Alden then picks up Twilight before placing her down. "...weight."
Circling around the pony Alden flicked the tail out of the way. "Species seems to be a fama-" Was all he was allowed to get out before he received two back hooves to the chest. The force of which surprised him, the muscle mass did not state that the mare was strong.
"That's close enough." Twilight commented snapping out of her stupor. Alden's face went from curious to flabbergasted. He would never in a million years guessed that this pony would be able to talk. Nevertheless he did not let it get to his head, he was a particle physicist after all. He made sense out of the things that defied it.
Getting up and dusting himself off Alden walked back up to the lavender pony. "Interesting... you can talk, perceive what is being done or said to you and act accordingly. This requires further research!" He smile grew as he thought of all of the potential discoveries he could make. He was no biologist, but he would be stupid to pass up a chance to further examine this specimen.
With this being said Twilight was the one to adorn a confused expression. "Of course I can understand you! I'm more surprised you can understand me."
Once the mare was done with her statement Alden stopped his ranting and instead started to ask more practical questions. "From the implications I come to the conclusion that you have yet to see a human before. Where exactly am I?"
Twilight shakes her head, she is no doubt questioning his very existence. After all her spell was to create matter and not create a living breathing being with it. However that being said she praised herself in completing such a complex spell, to create matter is one thing, but to make a being out of it is another. "You're currently in Ponyville, which resides in the content of Equestria, one of which is on the planet Equss."
Alden's eyes grew wide, he was no longer on the same planet or at least this pony said he wasn't. Of course he was a scientist and he needed physical proof to believe what he was hearing. Any person with a two bit brain could come up with a story like that. "I will require proof of your accusations."
Twilight didn't even miss a beat as soon as the statement was said. Without saying anything she walked over to a nearby window where she pointed her hoof to. Alden being the polite guest followed her in tow, if this was real and he did perform interplanetary travel then he would have to apologies for the mess he made upon arrival.
Arriving at the window Alden bent down and looked out to see a small town. Multiple cobblestone buildings lay in rows with hay thatched roofs. Along with the town Alden saw multiple ponies walk around doing their normal evening routines. Which was pretty fascinating to see, because it resembled a lot like what humans do.
Turning back around Alden continue to ask his questions. "Do you know how I arrived here?" He asked simply as he walked back to the coffee table. Doing so he noticed the cracked flooring along with some scorch marks. I hope I didn't cause this. Alden said to himself as he turned back to receive the answer from the mare.
"Well I was experimenting with magic to see if I could create matter and long story short I created you!" Twilight said beaming, her memory of the rather inappropriate examination fading away with time.
Alden sighed, just as expected. The pony standing before him thinks that she has the ability to use 'magic' just because he had arrived. He will admit that such a event could lead anyone to believe that they have superficial powers, however he for one knew the truth about 'magic'. It was just a word that people used when they couldn't explain something, this is where a physicist steps in and takes the reins.
Shaking his head Alden put on the best disappointed look he could muster. "I'm sorry to rain on your parade, but I was not 'created' by you. Before arriving here I was back in my lab experimenting the theory on the origins of the universe. For one I now know, is one though nut to crack. Lastly magic is nothing but smoke and mirrors, I suggest you stop proceeding such 'dead end' branch of science. If you can even call it one."
The mare scrunches up her face as she continues to process of what he had just said. "What do you mean 'dead end'!" She retorts, clearly not amused by his approach on her beliefs.
"Simple, the answer that you seek does not exist. Magic does not exist. People only say that to explain things that defy all reason." Alden replies feeling rather good about himself. He knows that people tend to stick with their side of the argument, so he knows that any second now she will retaliate. After the fact he will simply say 'prove it'.
"But magic does exist!" said the purple unicorn.
Alden was right once again, she did retaliate. So with that being done he followed through with his fool proof plan. "prove it." He said with a smirk upon his face. "The only reason I believe you exist is because I can see you. If someone back at my academy told me that you were real, I would of slapped some sense into him."
"Fine!" The lavender unicorn claims as her horn begins to glow the same color of her coat. Lights, how original. I bet she has some little LED lights hidden in her mane. Alden ponders as he continues to watch the pony.
A couple seconds pass and a scroll files right in front of him with the same purple aurora. More lights, smoke and strings. Alden states as he moves in to investigate the 'floating' scroll. "I will admit this is one fine trick." Alden comments hovering his hand over the scroll, only to find no wires whatsoever.
"Okay what's the trick? Magnets? Hidden fan? Light illusion..." Alden trailed off still prodding at the scroll that floated through the air like it was in water.
The mare only smiled. "I told you magic!"
Alden only frowned at this explanation. "I need more than just 'it's magic'. What are the scientific theories that are at work here? You might call it magic, but something's going on when you use it."
The purple mare looked at Alden cocking her head to the side. "I never really thought about that. I was born with magic so I never really questioned how it works, it just did." Alden can see the gears turning in her head as she attempts to figure out what she just did. She could always be faking this to make it look more believable.
Shaking his head Alden snapped the mare out of her thoughts. "Well if you can't explain it can you at least send me back to my lab. This right here is just a huge waste of my time." He claimed looking at the mare.
The pony puts on a sheepish smile. "Well you see, I was shooting for matter creation. To be honest I have no idea what I did to mess up the spell I casted to bring you here." This only gets Alden to let out a large sigh. Today was going to be one of those days.
"So you're saying to me that I'm stuck here?" Alden says in a low and calm tone, however in his mind he was screaming. All he wanted to do was go back home and receive his Nobel prize was that so hard to ask for?
I bet Anton is stealing all my work for himself at this very moment. This thought almost made you lose it. If anyone deserves credit for proving quantum theory right it should be him not Anton.
The mare quickly shakes her head. "No, no, no. You just have to give me a couple of days to find the right spell. I'm sure it won't take too long." She assures him.
"A couple days!" Alden yells out. "You do realize I was on the verge of a breakthrough that could explain the creation of the universe!" His mind was now spinning, a couple days of unexpected leave could cost him his job. Things were really not folding out well for him now.
The purple Pegasus tilts her head again. "Creation of the universe? I'm pretty sure Celestia and Luna did that one." Alden didn't know how much of this bullshit he could take. First magic then saying that the universe was created by two creatures! He just needed some air.
Yes that was it just some fresh air. Maybe being in the lab all day had just gotten to his head and he's dreaming. He could also be hallucinating from the fumes that the sample gave off. The last one was probably the case, but why would his 'high' self tell him such false facts. It's like it knew that he would be pissed off at the fact that magic was real.
Trudging over to the door Alden placed his hand on the door knob. "Where you going?.." The mare stated. "No do go outside!!" She yelled attempting to run towards him in an attempt to stop him. Sadly she was not fast enough and he opened the door. Ah fresh air. He claimed stepping outside.
"EVERYPONY RUN FOR THEIR LIVES!" A scream came from in front of him.
