They Came from the Everfree
Pink
Previous ChapterNext Chapter"Why can't you two just get along for like... Three minutes? Please? Shouldn't we be talking about anything else right now? Like Fluttershy? We aren't just going to forget her are we?" The Pinkie called in through the doorway, taking a cautious step inward. She carefully planted it in a clean spot on the tile, avoiding any drops of leftover blood.
Twilight narrowed her glance at me, slowly leaning forward in a threatening manner. I suddenly felt like an idiot for leaving my rifle in the hallway.
"You're right, we need to talk about what's happened, and what's going to happen." She turned her head, acknowledging her friend, before turning back to me, and whispering. "Especially what may or may not happen to you. But before that happens, I'm making new restrictions. Where is your weapon?" She inquired seriously.
It didn't take me more than a second to interpret her cause, and I wasn't going to bite. I stared at her blankly.
"If you don't tell me, you're making it worse on yourself. You tell me or I find them." She warned.
"Uh, Twilight? 'S right here." Applejack was suddenly beside pinkie, lifting up my rifle and swinging it into the bathroom direction.
I flinched downward and threw my hands in front of my face in reflex as the rifle aimed at my head for a fraction of a second. I swore unintentionally.
"What's your deal?" Applejack tilted her head and shifted the rifle, temporarily pointing it at me again.
"Fucking shit what?!" Were the only words that I could form at the moment.
"Applejack! Don't point that around! You're scaring the poor thing!" Rarity warned, poking the barrel into the wall's direction.
It suddenly glowed a dim violet light, and took off toward the ceiling, before halting itself right beside Twilight, aimed right at me.
"Remove your clothes..." She squinted at me, slightly bobbing the rifle.
"Twilight!" Pinkie yelled, shocked.
My jaw fell open unconsciously, barely processing the question.
"What was that?" I asked blankly.
"The clothes, get them off. You may not carry weapons of any sort, or wear any coverings." She answered robotically.
I shook my head, "Sorry, toots. You'll get that view over my rotting corpse." I responded.
"Twilight stop! What are you doing!?" Rainbow yelled, approaching from behind her.
A large bubble with a close resemblance to glass blocked her path in a heartbeat. The Rainbow character slammed her arms into it, with no effect.
"What did you just call me?" She jammed the rifle closer to my face.
"Do you even know how to shoot that thing? I hope you didn't intend to pull the lever near the guard. At least not if you want any of us to get out of here in one piece." I inquired.
"Don't joke with me, I've seen you use it, I know all I need to know!" She shouted.
"Okay, then before you kill me be sure to disarm the security mechanism you set off by touching it." I bluffed, years of military bearing assisting me in my lie.
Applejack shifted uncomfortably, almost cringing by the door.
"I mean, you've probably got another minute or so before you really have to worry about the detonation, but hey, you know how to use it more than they do. So just try not to blow us up while you're at it." I waved my hand dramatically.
She gritted her teeth at me, she was buying it for now.
"How do I turn it off?" She asked, turning it sideways, but levitating it closer to herself.
"Gee, I don't know. It was alot easier to think before I was locked in here with a pervert aiming my weapon at my face and telling me to strip." I laughed, sitting on the tub's wall. "I guess I'll just have to leave it be until I can think straight."
Rarity stepped back nervously, backing away from the door and glancing down the hallway. A few others followed suit, getting ready to bolt.
"Speaking of which, there's about thirty seconds left. Maybe more, maybe less. I don't know. I suppose I'm gone either way, as well take you with me I suppose."
"Fine! Fine! Shut it off you psycho!" She threw it at me with her levitation, smashing the rifle into my belly before the wall behind her glided in front of her, shielding them from me. It passed over her with no effect, though it appeared to be collidable with the others.
I smiled and turned on the safety, doing my best to look like I was actually relying on it.
"You couldn't figure that out yourself?" I teased.
"You're a murderer, and a backstabber. You're going to be staring at the walls of a cell for the rest of your life when I get you to Canterlot." She seethed.
"Aw shit!" I heard down the hallway, a much deeper voice. "That's fucking gross! What the hell did I just step in! Aaaawwww grooooss it's all cold and shit, I'm barefoot! Grayson where the fuck are you!?" Elliot yelled.
"Ay! Great timing Superman! Want to get arrested with me?" I called back.
Twilight started walking towards me.
"Sure! Sounds about as fun as the rest of the day's been for me!" He finally appeared behind the four in front of him, Rarity turned and nodded, acknowledging him, the rest all spun back, eyes glued to Twilight and I.
"Twilight! Please! He was only trying to help!" Pinkie yelled out, approaching slowly, weaving her way around the soaked floor. "Can't we give them another chance? Pleeeeease?" She leaned in, giving her best puppy-dog expression.
"Wait, is she seriously arresting you, dude?" Elliot asked, putting his hands up defensively. "If you got me in on whatever you did I'm gonna kill you."
"Yes, I'm really getting arrested. No, I didn't put you in on it. But you're probably getting arrested too. Helping is murder here." I answered.
"Ah, sounds like a true politician. Well, do I need to stay here long enough to get cuffed, or can I have a head start?" He asked.
"Get your ass moving, she hates me more right now!" I yelled.
He wasted no time, bolting out the door. Applejack quickly spun around and tailed him.
"Hey! I don't hate you! Like I said, I don't trust you." She answered matter-of-factly.
"Oh, sorry ol' buddy ol' pal. I forgot that when you were trying to turn my brain into Saturday leftovers."
"Enough with your damn sarcasm! Can't you stay serious for two seconds without laughing over our friend's grave!?" She practically shrieked, running up to me like a bull at full charge, even causing her friends to back away. For a moment, I honestly thought that horn was about to become the weirdest thing I've ever been injured by. Her eyes seemed to have picked up a faint, but apparent glow.
"I'm not trying to be sarcastic! I'm trying to take your mind off of her injury! Because: news flash! She's not dead! I spent more effort than I should've given a shit to consider trying to save her life! Now I wonder if you would've treated me better off if I left her scrambling for the sink!" I stamped my foot seriously, again using my size difference as a tactic.
"Don't forget who you're talking to! And it's your fault anypony was hurt at all today! You brought them here! And now alot of familiar faces are dead because of it! Who would you be blaming! One of my closest friends just lost more blood than I've seen in my entire life because of your ignorance!" She took another step closer, her horn actually poking my chest. Her eyes were certainly glowing now. Below the bright violet, a tear glided its way down her left cheek.
"SHUT UP YOU TWO!" An unfamiliar voice shouted above the noise, causing everyone to flinch.
We both turned our heads to look towards the entrance. Pinkie, who had backed off, was now standing directly in the blood on the floor, which had partially dried to more of a syrupy consistency. Her eyes were shamelessly welling with tears, and her hair had somehow become tangled in the last few seconds.
"IF YOU TWO CAN'T GET ALONG FOR MORE THAN THIRTY SECONDS WITHOUT FIGHTING, WE'RE NEVER GOING TO LEAVE THIS HOUSE, AND WE'RE NEVER GOING TO SEE FLUTTERSHY AGAIN!" She gasped for air, staring between the two of us.
Twilight and I were left completely struck that she could produce such a volume. A small pony compared to the other, produced a sound I've only heard since boot camp. We slowly turned to each other.
"I'm not going to shoot you, but I'm keeping this with me. I'm here to shoot any other attackers that may also be in the woods. Other than that, I'll follow you anywhere, and listen to you under reason." I offered.
She thought about it, rubbing her chin considerably. "Fine, but you'll stay close to me, and you can't just deny anything. If I tell you to do something, I should expect you to do it. You can keep the rifle, but keep in mind that the guard here is always on patrol, and they honestly don't trust you any more than I do. You're the most dangerous thing within miles of here." She nodded.
"So it's agreed, what do we do now?" I ask.
"We find your friend, who you decided to spook off." She turned to Pinkie.
"And then?" I continue.
"We head to Ponyville Hospital."
Author's Note
Oy vey, I posted something! Cool! I'm trying to get Twilight to get along, I really am! But this was a decent argument to write out. They were originally going to insult each other more, but I decided it was too out-of-character.
