Canterlot was slowly emptying as its citizens returned to their cosy homes, ready for some peaceful sleep. Luna sat upon the balcony that was attached to her room, guiding the moon into the sky as her sister, from her own room, lowered the sun. They had done this for so long, even before Luna’s imprisonment, that it was simply natural. Luna’s moon and her patchwork art of stars began to twinkle, casting their gentle glow across Equestria. Luna lay upon her large bed and curled up sighing contently as the darkness of sleep slowly took over. Luna had managed to make her dream doors line up in a form of order, certain dreams that were innocent were white, nightmares had a black aura and… The other kind of dreams had pink… She tried to avoid them. However one particular door caught Luna’s eye first over the black aura ones. This door was deep purple but lacked any form of cutie mark yet it was clearly an adult’s dream (she had a sense for those things, Luna) and it was also radiating a deep blue aura. Intrigued Luna pushed open the door and stepped inside.
Twilight, with her notes finished and the sun just setting, knew Luna would soon be going to bed. Perfect, now all she had to do was focus mentally on Luna appearing, and a little touch of magic. Hopefully the Princess would be too curious to shy away from this.
Luna looked around at the giant forest before her, it was odd. It appeared to be a normal stretch of forest, brightly lit by the stars, but no screaming… This seemed like a peaceful dream or possible even a normal forest in the waking world. Yet somepony was obviously dreaming and the odd aura... Luna had to get to the bottom of this. Deciding she’d find more once she stepped in, Luna pushed the door open a little more and closed it silently behind her, however her appearance had already been noticed.
Twilight glanced over at a sudden new light, there, sitting in thin air, was a bright plain purple door with Luna standing within it. Twilight watched praying and sure enough the Princess stepped within the dream, closing the door. Twilight grinned rubbing her hooves
“Let the testing begin.” She thought. Twilight began to stretch her tail across the tree’s she had made, which were purposely dense at parts so she could pass unseen, though her snake belly helped blend in with the sky a bit if Luna glanced up. Finally Luna stopped almost directly below Twilight, for a second she feared the Princess had heard her, then noticed Luna’s horn glowing. She was about to leave! Abandoning everything Twilight made her move, sliding down the side of the tree into view
“Hello Princess.” Twilight said, stretching the s’ with her forked tongue.
Luna had wandered through the forest for several minutes, but had seen no form of pony within the forest, deciding that there was little she needed to do in this dream she prepared to leave, concentrating her magic to make the door out appear. Then a familiar voice spoke behind her
“Hello Princess.” Luna spun around then backed up. Twilight was hanging from the branches above from a snake tail that Luna knew she didn’t normally possess
“Twilight?” She whispered.
Luna looked a little nervous but Twilight decided to play the, I’m just dreaming card, and hoped that Luna would buy it and play along

Luna sighed a breath of relief, Twilight appeared to think she was simply a figment of her imagination. Twilight began to circle the Princess who once again became nervous, she hoped the door hadn’t somehow messed up and turned blue when it had been a pink dream, but as Twilight spoke it seemed it had.
“I’ve been waiting for far too long for you to appear Princess,” Twilight whispered as a small wall of coils boxed Luna in “I’ve been very cold without somepony to… Hug.
