Flutters with the Fuhrer

Fluttershy

River Somme, France

October 7th, 1916

Fluttershy looked around, frightened. None of what she was seeing right now was familiar in any way. She was in what seemed to be an expansive forest. Suddenly, two large birdlike creatures loudly flew overhead, scaring Fluttershy into running blindly.

"How did I even get here?" Fluttershy thought to herself as she ran.

Eventually, she found a large river. Thirsty, she put her mouth in the water and took a long drink from the river. As she drank, she started to hear noises coming from the north. Curious, Fluttershy decided that it would be best to make her way towards the source of the noise. What she saw before her horrified her beyond anything she had ever seen before.

Before her, a distance from the river, she saw a lot of unusual looking creatures that reminded her of monkeys were inside large ditches, or trenches, of some kind. They were currently defending themselves using some kind of long metal sticks as well as cannons. In a field between the trenches lay several of what Fluttershy was sure to be corpses of some of the monkey-like creatures in various types of uniform. Further ahead, she saw a small village about a mile away which was currently burning, no doubt what this battle was being fought for. Fluttershy, after thinking long and hard, decided that it wouldn't be safe to be out in the open, so she made her way to the nearest campsite.

Adolf Hitler

German camp near Bapaume, France

"" Hitler looked up from the document he was currently reading and sighed, but complied with his superior officer's demand. After all, Hitler thought to himself, even the small orders, such as being summoned to the Commander, will still serve the German Empire. As an Austrian by birth, Hitler always saw himself as predominately German, so when the Great War started, Hitler believed it was his righteous duty to serve the German Empire by joining their army. Hitler walked to his commander's tent and poked his head in.

"" Hitler asked.

The commander of the Bavarian List Regiment looked up from his makeshift desk and looked up to see the face of the solemn young man standing in front of him.

"" the commander replied.""

Hitler started to get excited. Most of the time he sent messages were very uneventful, but this bit of news possibly meant that he could see some kind of limited action. "" Hitler said enthusiastically as a soldier walked into the tent.

"" the soldier, named Imre Müller, asked. Hitler nodded, and he and the soldier walked out of the tent.

Fluttershy

Fluttershy managed to climb out of the river she had just swam across. She would have just flied over it, but seeing the long sticks at work showed her that they could shoot even from a distance, so she decided it would be best to lay low on her way to the camp, which she noticed that she happened to be on a trail leading to the camp, with one direction that would have led her to the trenches.

"Oh, why is all this fighting happening in this universe?" Fluttershy thought to herself.

It was at this point that she saw two figures walking almost side by side, very cautiously. Both had on uniforms, but had very different facial features. One had short brown hair with a large, bushy mustache on his face, while the one holding one of the large sticks had very little facial hair at all, with blond hair. They looked at Fluttershy with shock and awe.

"" the man with the stick asked.

Fluttershy looked for a bush to hide behind, but seeing none nearby, she instead just cowered into a ball, hardly noticing that despite the fact that she knew the man was speaking a different language than she does, she still could understand him clearly.

"" the mustached man said in reply.

Fluttershy looked up at the two men and noticed that the man with the stick had it pointed in her direction. "No, p..please don't hurt me with y..your stick th..thingy!" she said with tears starting to form in her eyes.

The mustached man then looked in the other man's direction and said, "", while the man, Imre, stammered, "< My God, Adolf, that creature just spoke!>"

Fluttershy looked up again. The mustached man, Adolf, got down to his knees. "" he said calmly.

Fluttershy then squeaked out- " I'm.. Fluttershy." in a barely audible voice.

Adolf got up off his knees and looked out to the distant sounds of gunfire. Fluttershy looked to Imre and asked what he was doing. "" Imre replied.

After a few minutes, Adolf turned around and spoke to the two. "< I believe that we should continue to the compound and deliver the message. Afterward, we will show Fluttershy to the commander. He will know best about what to do. Until then, Fluttershy, stick with us, just so those ignorant British soldiers don't shoot you for meat.>"

" Um, okay. Thank you." Fluttershy said uneasily.

The group started walking to the compound, about a quarter-mile away. Hitler was excited. He was the first person in the world to ever meet an actual talking alien, and he intended to bask in the glory. Maybe this Fluttershy could help encourage the citizens of the German Empire to fight, knowing that they have a new, extraterrestrial creature that didn't ever have to be shared with other nations like Britain, the United States, or- "" Hitler thought- Russia.

Imre then noticed that the campgrounds were within 100 yards of their current location. However, before they entered the tent, shots rang out. Soldiers armed with guns started shooting in the direction of the sudden enemy fire.

"" Hitler yelled, just as a bullet pierced Hitler in his thigh.

Fluttershy dove straight into the nearest tent and covered her ears, even though the shooting mostly ceased. After about a minute, she cautiously started to emerge, but on seeing Hitler, she immediately ran to his side.

Hitler was hit in the left thigh by a British soldier, who he later found out was shot shortly after he fell. His injury wasn't fatal, but it had to be taken care of. She flew into what she saw as a medical tent, and found an old pack of bandages. She got to work fast, pulling Hitler's bloodied uniform off and then wrapped the bandages around his thigh as other soldiers walked up, astonished at the sight of an alien pony caring for a soldier they didn't particularly know very well.

"This should be temporary, until proper medical attention is given." Fluttershy said.

"" Hitler replied.

Just then, a truck pulled up about three feet from where Fluttershy and Hitler lay. A soldier stepped out of the truck, allowed his partners to step out, and said, "".

"Oh, thank Celestia you're here. Adolf has been hurt!>" Fluttershy said

The soldier's eyes nearly bugged out of his skull as he said, ""

Fluttershy introduced herself, and then gestured towards Imre and said, "That man and Hitler led me here. They said you would help work out details of this.....situation."

The soldier decided to make a call on his radio. After ten minutes of conversation, the soldier finally informed Fluttershy that she was to be sent with Hitler to the military hospital in Beelitz.

"Ok, thank you." Fluttershy said gratefully.

No soldier said a word after seeing the alien jump up into the bed of the truck, and then driven out into the horizon, towards Germany.
