Of Beauty And Rage
5-Fire Diamond:Part 2-Dark Flames
Previous ChapterSeth stood beside Twilight as Major Mare counted all the ponies.
"Pinkie Pie?" She asked.
"Here!"
"Dawn Breaker?"
"Here"
"Bright Wing?"
...
"Miss Bright Wing?" Major Mare asked again, but she still didn't get any response.
Seth turned to Twilight and whispered silently.
"Is Bright Wing a pegasus?" He asked.
"Yes, why?" Twilight asked, but Seth didn't answer. Instead he stood up and cleared his throat.
"I'm afraid miss Wing... didn't make it." He said slowly, getting a surprised the gasp from the crowd of ponies.
"Wha-..." Major Mare was at a loss of words. She never expected that somepony would actually die in the fire.
Seth looked down, but in the corner of his eye he spotted something. He turned his head and saw a cloaked pony run away across the grass plains.
"Oh no you don't!" He almost growled before running after the pony, leaving behind a very sad and confused Twilight.
Sett ran after the pony as fast as he could, which quickly proved to be much faster than the pony. He reached the pony relatively quickly and jump-tackled it to the ground.
He pinned the pony to the ground and pulled it's hood off. Only to see a shadow slowly disappear.
"What the?" He asked himself as he looked around. He stood up, with the familiar feeling of being watched. He saw a bright flash behind him, and turned around just in time to see a another bright red flash, before he passed out.

Seth felt a cold wind blow against his bare arms, and he shrugged as he opened his eyes. He stared straight into a pair of entirely red orbs. At first he thought it was rubies, but as they moved away he saw that they belonged to a large pony-like creature. The pony was the size of Celestia, with the same color on its coat and a entirely white mane. Though what made Seth stare at it was its eyes. They lacked pupils and looked just like crimson orbs in the pony's head. She also had a long white horn on her head. The only thing that separated her from Celestia was the fact that she didn't have wings and her eyes.
"Greetings, human." It spoke in a strong feminine voice, which led Seth to the conclusion that it was a mare, he would've guessed so earlier by the looks, but you never know. As she spoke he could see a pair of sharp long teeth in her upper jaw, which made her look almost like a vampire. Seth had read about vamponies, but this mare didn't look like the ones the books had described, so he guessed she was of some other race.
"My name is Fire Diamond,I-..."
"You're the one responsible for the fire, aren't you?" Seth interrupted her.
"Why, yes. In fact I am." She said, a grin becoming visible on her face.
"You got a problem with that?" She asked mockingly as she stomped with her right front hoof right beside his head. She leaned closer to him and narrowed her eyes.
"Huh?" She asked mockingly.
Seth could feel his anger boil up within his chest as the mare made fun of the pony she had killed.
"shut up..." He said silently.
"Oh, what was that, I couldn't hear you?"
"Shut... UP!" He shouted and his body erupted in a dark blue glow. His eyes shifted from light to dark blue and they seemed to spit out black and blue flames.
A powerful vortex surrounded them and Fire Diamond looked around as she grew more and more nervous, though it didn't last long.
In the matter of seconds Seth's body had changed completely as rage took over his mind:
The blue glow around Seth's body disappeared in a powerful burst of energy that sent Fire Diamond flying backwards off of him.
The next moment when she looked at him he levitated a meter over the ground and the vortex had formed a dark blue aura around him. The blue flames from his eyes burned several inches to the side of his head and he stared at her with a menacing smile.
Without a word spoken he lifted his arms up and unleashed two powerful beams of magic towards the mare, who couldn't evade both at the same time and was shot backwards and into a thick tree.
Seth flew higher into the air and the aura around him spread further out from his body. His breath showed clearly visible blue smoke as he breathed. He took a deep breath, before hundreds of small magic bolts shot from the entire aura sphere around him. The bolts didn't look like they would do much, but each bolt crashed into the ground and created burning craters with a diameter of almost two meters, so three hundred of those and it makes for quite the devastation.
The bolts stopped firing and slowly began to descend. Be landed on the ground and the aura turned back into the vortex before finally disappearing. Seth's body was entirely drained of energy, and he down so he stood on one knee, while resting his arms on the leg on which he still stood.
He saw Fire Diamond rise to her feet and walk towards him.
"Why?" She asked, a single tear running down her face.
"I only wanted for the princesses to see." She said slowly and dropped to he knees beside him. Seth wanted to take this change and just kill the mare, but he couldn't. No matter how much he hated her this mare still had a life, which she could change if she really wanted to.
"To see what?" Seth asked slowly as he sat down beside her. He looked into the air in front of him. He couldn't believe it. Just a minute ago he had tried to kill this mare, now he sat down beside her, sad because he had caused her pain.
"I only wanted them to see what... What they had done. How they made others feel." She said slowly, gaining Seth's uttermost curiosity.
"They are the cause of my entire village's death." She said slowly and stood up.
"What?" Seth asked as he looked at the large mare.
"You searched for a village outside Ponyville, the reason you couldn't find it is that Celestia ordered her guards to burn it down. She killed all the ponies in the village... all except... me." She said slowly.
Seth stood up beside the mare, and looked at her carefully.
"I doubt the princes would do something like that. I'm sure there is a reasonable explanation for all this." Seth said and put a careful hand on her back.
"You don't know anything!" She hissed angrily. He retracted his hand and backed away.
"I'm sorry. I know it's not my place to speak, but uhh... I'm really sorry. Both for what happened to you before and for what I did here now. "I'm truly sorry." He said and bowed before her.
Seth sat beside the strange mare. He couldn't decide if he hated her or if he actually felt sorry for her. He glanced towards her, and saw her depressed look.
"Hey, Fire. How about this; if you give me three days to prove to you that the princesses are good, then you will stop all this nuisance. If I fail, then..." He stopped and thought for a moment.
"Then we'll become partners in crime, alright?" He finally asked while laughing at himself.
"... Deal," She said slowly and looked at the man. Just what is he planning?
