Darkness surrounded the tree home of Zecora's. The mane six were gathered there. A purple mare with a jet black mane galloped down the stairs to join the others," Hello everypony I am Zecora's apprentice, Everfree Moonlight!"
Twilight Sparkle stepped forward while awkwardly folding her bothersome wings," Hello miss we got a letter from Luna stating that we needed to be here to meet her. Where is she?"
The zebra of the home turned towards them," The princess you seek is upstairs,take a peek." The eight mares ,including a small purple and green dragon ,scurried up the steps to find a large, blue alicorn.
" Princess Twilight Sparkle, Queen Chrysalis has returned."
Everypony stared ,mouths on the floor.
Rainbow Dash flew up and shouted," But Shining Armor and Cadence terminated her ,right?!"
Rarity sighed with her head low," Darling they sent her far off not destroyed her."
Everfree stepped to the center of ponies. "Um,guys I know the most about Queen Chrysalis. She is my...my...my mother. She took me under her wing when my parents left me in her kingdom as a newborn filly. She used me. I loved her while that wretched mare fed off it."
Fluttershy hugged her, "It's okay we're here for ya."
Luna looked at Pinkie Pie,who was playing with a small mare doll. Pinkie looked up, " WHAT?!",she lied the voodoo mare down.
" Oh nothing I just was going to say, we need all of yall to work as a team to...kill...the queen," Luna gulped as she said the last three words.
The element of honesty pulled off her hat and held it in her hooves. She said," I never thought anypony would ask us for our...dark sides."
Pinkie's eyes twitched and licked her lips. " No not-t my dark side",the pink mare cried.
Spike waddled to "moon-butt" . "Spike you too need to let your darkness show."
Zecora asked Luna," I don't have much a dark side,but knowledge of witchcraft I have inside. For will I too need to turn dark and gloom?"Everyone in the tree nodded to the question.
Everfree pulled out a set of knives. There were butcher knives ,switchblades,and several other types of weaponry. Aj grabbed an axe,RD a switchblade,Pinkamena lifted a butcher knife,Fluttershy a chainsaw,Rarity snatched a scalpel,and Twilight grabbed a set of bombs. Everfree had one left for herself,an old butcher knife she kept with her at all times. Luna brought forth her Nightmare Moon suit from her magic. Spike just ran out the door and dug up many jewels,shouting,"MINE!" The small dragon gained in size drastically. Zecora gathered a few herbs and bottles of liquid from the shelves. "The potions will slow the victim,only for a quick incision."
Everfree pulled out a small golden whistle from her saddle bag and blew into the instrument. A large colorful swarm of parasprites flew to the window,led by a purple and turquoise one." WHAT THE HAY?!" Pinkie Pie cried as she pulled out her set of many instruments.
"Pinkie! Wait a minute,they are reformed," she pointed at the leader of the group." This is Pastel my pet,and best pal!"
The pink mare across the room set the instruments aside," Okey dokey loki." Her mane went flat as a tire.
" Now everypony ah reckon it's best for us to head out,after we pack some'mer supplies like food an bedding," Apple Jack announced. Everypony nodded to the suggestion.
Soon enough they had their saddle bags full and lil Spike back to bein little." For once we get to have an adventure! Hopefully there will be monsters on the way!" Rainbow Dash said as the team galloped through the hazardous forest.
Fluttershy disagreed with the cyan pegasus," Um girls how many cloud lengths away is the group of Changlings? I don't want us getting into much more danger than needed."
Luna sighed." Dear Fluttershy, tis only about 4-5 more large clouds lenghts away."
After much more trotting the sun was setting,and Luna rose the moon. They had no choice but to rest where they were,lest they would have risked being sleep deprived and far too weak to travel.
"C'mon everypony, we'd best be hitting the hay," Apple Jack yawned.
Twilight,Spike and Princess Luna all slept in one tent. Rarity reluctantly shared her huge "tent" with Aj,Rainbow,Flutters and Pinkie. Zecora slept in a lean-to with Everfree and her parasprites.
When dawn came they were greeted by a note from Celestia via Spike.
"Dearest Twilight Sparkle, I know you have left Ponyville with your friends and my sister. I would hope you hurry and finish off Chrysalis. Luna has asked of me to stay here since if something happens it'd be best I be here to keep Equestria safe.(Also,my dark side isn't going to help since I basically just troll ponies or harass foals.) Travel safe and be aware of the changelings. With great love,Princess Celestia."
After reading the note the group quickly munched some oats and continued the journey. They sang a few songs and chatted about old times. Soon enough they reached the edge of the Everfree Forest.
"In the name of Equestria! This is worst than I thought," Everfree gasped. The land beyond the tree line was flowing with changelings. A few normal ponies were there yet didn't seem scared by the other creatures. In the middle of the large settlement was a large turquoise and black mansion with a swiss cheeselook(due to the many holes in the building).

This is my first fanfic and a back story for my oc. The part about Everfree being adopted was inspired by a RP I was in a while back. Please help me with writing this by givin ideas in the comments below . If on Zecora's lines I don't rhyme just know that making it make sense and be in tune is tricky. Help figure what should happen next cause this ain't easy to do for a noob. I am just going on with this without planing ahead. Thanks!
