Chapter 60: Journey to Quakeville, The Earth Temple

All was quiet...peaceful..peace and quiet…..

“AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!” A loud booming of screams echoed in the mane six rooms. The screaming jolted me and Cadence awake from our slumber. We knew something was wrong. I got up and put my boxers on, my shoes and shirt as well and RAN out of the door and headed to where the screaming came from. Cadence was not far as she averted her body to ‘normal’ and got dressed, following close behind me.

(Will throws a hand up, and a pillar of light appeared behind him. the pillar vanishes, revealing a large dragon, covered in shadows, with a warrior next to it.)

(Six dragons shadowed figures slowly emerged from below, with their proper elements spinning slowly while shining brightly. Twilight and the main six stood behind their elements and the dragons, with their hair and clothes flowing.)

The mayor thought for a moment as he examined us. "We've dealt with it before and it killed many of my people....are you sure you're up to this?"

The cheetah thought for a moment before he smiled a bit. "If you can get rid of what we're dealing with here, the town will be in your favor forever." I nodded in reply. "I will give the word that you'll be staying for a while at our inn." We nodded and left as he did his work.

Dirt and rubble passed above us as we entered the entrance. Upon the room were murals of ancient warriors of stone and earth ponies bowing to a dragon that was bulky and earth related.

"Wow...." Twilight breathed in awe. "These murals must be over generations old...this is an ancient history of Equestria long back before even Luna and Celestia became rulers."

"And look at that," Spike pointed to the ponies bowing to the dragon on the ancient picture. "Ponies back in the old ages must praise the dragons as their gods or something." I can't help but agree with it. From what I read, dragons are known to be Gods to some that worship and respect them, but this was far back in time, so that doesn't imply anymore.

"Guys! Over here!" We heard Will Call out. We saw him pushing a stone aside and a large hole was seen.

"I heard this is the entrance to below the temple." Pink spoke. "We blocked it off so no more accidents occur from that monster that lives down there."

"Guess this is where we enter then." I spoke. "Let's move, we have a lot to cover if we want to find Chikyu." They nodded as we hopped in the hole, one at a time. I was the last to enter as I slowly descended into the hole.

I met everyone at the bottom of the floor. It was small, but we saw a door on the other side of the small gap with a skull on the top of it with a throne, vine circling around the door.

Somehow...this was giving me a sense of deja vu.

"We enter through there." Pink pointed at the door.

"I-I don't like this...t-that door looks s-scary." Fluttershy whimpered, hiding behind me.

"What? You thought this was all gonna be cake and candy?" Rainbow as the shy pegasus.

"Cake! Candy! Mmmmmm! I love cake and candy!" Pinkie chirped and drooled while licking her lips. We all only sweat dropped in response to her childish behavior.

"Come on, we can't waste time." I spoke and I jumped across. I flapped my wings to the other side and landed. Upon reaching the door, the did some hand seals and created an earth bridge for everyone to cross. Each of the groups passed the stone bridge and made it across with me.
We walked forward as the door opened for us, creeping us out a bit until we entered the next room. It was larger than before. Two stairways leading to the top. It was pretty foggy too. "It's foggy here. Why is that?" Twilight asked while trying to look forward.

"The monster that lives down here filled the areas with traps and magic to prevent anyone from further entering the temple below." Purple explained next. We walked forward into the room and explored. It was like the first few rooms, old and untouched.

A grunt and growl were heard before we turned and gasped. A few feet from us what looked to be a humanoid rock monster. It wore earth like armor and with a stone weapon and shield. The rock monster faced us before it charged with its axe raised up.

I took action and quickly did some hand signs and shouted, "Fire Style: Fireball Jutsu!" I breathed and blasted a fireball at the creature and flames burst. The creature didn't seem fazed as it resumed its charge.

“Look out!” Twilight yelled before Emerald rushed forward, she took out her weapons and slashed and bashed the rock monster to pieces.

“Whoa…” Spike breathed. “Nice work, Emerald.”

“Thank you, Master Spike.” She giggled and moved to his side again.

“What was that thing?” Will questioned.

“That was one of the monsters creatures it summons to keep it away from the room it sleeps in.” Pink explained. “There will be bound to be more the deeper we go.”

“Then let’s not waste time.” I stated. We nodded in agreement as we kept moving. Passing the stairs, we headed to the end of the room. There was a stone door but blocked by metal bars.

“Blocked. Looks like we won’t get anywhere now.” Spike spoke.

"We'll have to find a way to open the door then. We should look around and find a switch or something." I spoke. We slip up into teams of two and looked around. The group with me grew curious and walked up the stairs. We encountered another rock monster lucky, but I took care of it by blasting it with fire and blasted water out and made him nothing but rubble. Reaching the top, we hit another dead end. "Damn, nothing."

"Daniel, Look." Rainbow pointed at the top of the pillar nearby. Upon it what looked to be a Pressure pad switch.

"Good eye Rainbow." I smiled and flew across. Landing, I stepped on it as it sunk in the pillar.
Nothing.

"Aw come on!" I groaned. "This is a dud? Great."

"Hey, Daniel!" I turned and saw Spike at another pillar nearby. "There's a Pressure pad over here!" Another one? Wait...

“Spike, RD, jump on the switches at the same time!”

“Why?” Spike questioned.

“That'll probably open the door.” Realizing that, they nodded and waited for my word. “Now!” both jumped and hit the switches together. As my theory was answered, we heard iron sliding as the bars holding the door were gone. “Alright!” we ran inside as I saw the two hybrids playing cards. “Yo! Girls, let’s go!” they look over as they lick their lips as they got their cards and ran over homing on me as they slammed their bodies against me. I groaned while struggling in their hold. “Seriously!? This is not the time for this you two!” they giggled as the others pull them off of me.

“That was funny!” Pinkie giggled.

I sighed and rubbed my temples. “It’s like babysitting a bunch of three-year-olds…”

“Excuse me but we are much older than three.” they said in kid voices.

That sent a shiver down my spine. “It was a figure of speech!” they giggled as they ran off in the temple. I sighed before joining the others. The next room had a single light shining from above us. Immediately when the door closed, the iron bars came down on us and blocked our way out. “Oh great…”

“Uh...Daniel?” Will spoke before pointing forwards. I turned where he was pointing and saw large slime-like creatures with a female look to them and body. They ranged from red, green and even black.

“What the hell are those things?” I asked while drawing my blade. I then saw them jump at the girls but instead of hurting them they just pop their heads out to get air as the slimes just stayed there.

“What are they doing?” Spike questioned. We then started to hear..moaning. Each of them had blissful looks while moaning their hearts out. “Oh no…”

“Hey! Release them!” Will shouted. The slimes darted at us and had demonic looks and fangs as they hissed at us.

"Stay alert everyone!" I informed as me and the boys stood ready to strike. One of the green slimes jumped at us before Will slashed it away with his sword. The slime violently shook before it exploded in its slime.

"They don't look that strong." Applejack spoke up while rubbing her head.

"Guess that means we can take out the trash." Rainbow smirked and cracked her knuckles. We all attacked the slimes and they popped one by one. They exploded and left nothing but their remaining slime. When they were dealt with, we were left with the black ones.

"I got this one!" Twi spoke and fired a beam at one. It popped, but the slime hovered in the air before coming back together and reformed into its state. Twi grew shocked by this. "That's impossible! It can regenerate!?"

"Let's try this then!" I glared and did some hand signs. "Fire Style: Fire breath Jutsu!" A stream of fire hit the slime but shocked us again when it broke up but put itself back together like nothing happened. "What the hell are they? Are they...immortal?"

"There has to be a way to kill them." Will stated. Suddenly, a streak of light flashed at the slime and shocking us when it turned into stone. Purple struck the stone slime into nothing but dust. We looked and saw Pink with a magical mirror above the available light above her before it vanished. "How did you know that light was the black slimes weakness?" The boy asked in shock.

"We encountered them a few times while the mines in this temple while it was still open." The pink hybrid explained. "Only the black ones are weak to light." I took this info and looked at my hand.

"If I can know how to control my light, I might have a chance..." I thought.

"Oh, and one other thing," Pink created the mirror again and flashed the light to one section of the room. Out of shock, a treasure chest materialized from its invisible force. "Some chests in this temple, are hidden and contain some goods."

I was pretty amazed at this before I approached, the chest. I opened it up and looked inside to what was in it. Pulling back, I got a map...a map of the temple. "Guys, look. The chest held this map of the temple. Now we can get to the center to where the monster is hiding."

"What? Can i see it?" Twilight asked as she walked over to me. I held the map to her as she examined it. Her eyes widened in awe. "This is amazing! It pinpoints to every location in the temple." She pointed to the bottom of it. "This area right here must be where the monster is hiding."

"Looks like we're starting on the right track." Rarity smiled at the achievement we collected. We moved on and passed the door to the next room. Entering the next room was mysterious. In the center was a large statue of a pony monk. On its eyes and head were the shapes on the sun and moon together. Below it was purple smoke.

I took the map out again and examined where we are. "The map says we move forward to the next room...but I'm feeling suspicious out that smoke."

"Ptt!" Rainbow scoffed with a boast. "Little smoke isn't gonna harm us." She ran into the smoke, but suddenly was covered in it and she looked droopy. "Whoa.....why do I feel so tired?"

"Rainbow, get out of there!" Twilight shouted. The pegasus got out quickly before regaining her strength.

"Whoa, that was weird." She spoke in a shudder.

“That smoke seems to drain our energy if we step in it.” Will mentioned.

“It’s another of the monster's defenses.” Purple added. “It doesn’t want anyone to advance further into the temple.”

Great. Now we're in a tight position again. There has to be a way to get past, but how? Rainbow rubbed her eyes. “While I was in that smoke, I did see some large bulge from the ground.” She pointed out where she was. I squinted my eyes to that area. She was right. Hiding in the smoke was a large wooden nail-like a bulge. It must be a switch of some kind. I glanced around to see what we can use to push it down. Near us was a large boulder. That gave me an idea.

"Spike, can you levitate this?" I asked. Spike nodded with a grin and his eyes glowed pink. The rock cracked and split off from the ground and hovered in the air. "Ok, move it above the smoke." He moved an arm as the rock followed him. "A little more...more....perfect! Right there!" The rock was above the stump. "Let ergo!" Spike released it as it fell with a hard thud. We heard metal grinding stone again and the door to our right opened.

"Alright!" Rainbow cheered.

"Great thinking Daniel." Cadence smiled, kissing my cheek. I gave a blush and chuckle while rubbing my neck. We pressed on to the next room. It was darker than before, and there were a few grave monuments around. I grew weary of the sense of danger nearby.

"Stay close." I spoke as we moved ahead. All was quiet...too quiet.

THUD!

We all jumped as Fluttershy screamed a bit and we turned to the source. Some of the girls paled when pony skulls flew out of the monuments, catching on fire. They gave sinister laughs and spotted us.

"Flesh! Flesh!" They spoke evilly with their jaws chattering. The hybrid sisters approached before they took out their weapons. Their weapons of choice were short swords. They lunged at the skulls and slashed them to bits, not giving them a chance.

I blinked in utter surprise. Guess they can fight after all. “...Impressive.”

“Thanks.~” They purred and kissed my cheeks. My cheeks burned as the others were giving glares and pout by the attention they gave me. We continued our investigation of the room. Nothing was left. However, through our investigation, he heard more of the coffins opening with more of the fire skulls emerging.

“FLESH! FLESH!” They chanted and hurled at us.

I growled loudly. "I had enough of you fucking skulls!" My hands blurred in signs. "Water Style: Water Pillar Thrust!" Streams of water gushed out from the floor, hitting each of the skulls as the fire around them was put out and they fell. Spike took this and smashed them with his earth style. The tension lessened in the room again as everything went quiet. "Come on, let's look around before more skulls appear."

They happily agreed to it as we looked around. There was nothing much before Spike spotted a cube stone at the top of the room. Curious, he moved it with his earth magic before a small crack showed a light beam. "FLESH!" Spike sweatdropped as another came to him, but he shot stone at it without looking at it as it exploded.

The light was something good to start with. We looked around before Pink used her mirror again and shined the light around the room. Like before, it shined and a wooden chest appeared. I approached and opened it and looked inside. "Wacha find?" daring asked.

I moved away and showed what it was...it was a large silver key. "Just this."

"Hmmm." She hummed. "Hold onto it, I think it might be used for later." I nodded and put it in my pocket for safekeeping. We suddenly heard screaming from behind. I turned quickly to see dark void holes in the ground. Something emerged from the hole, which was a giant hand as it was grabbing onto rarity.

"Rarity!" I shouted and charged at the arm. "Let her go you son of a bitch!" I slashed my sword at it as it released its grip on her as she fell and it retreated in the shadows. When it vanished, I kneeled to my friend. "Are you alright Rarity?"

"HELP ME!" I turned again as I saw the hand rerisen and had a hold of twilight this time.

"TWI!" I yelled trying to get her. Out of the bloom, another arm shot from the shadows and smacked me aside, making me fall and groan. The others came to me and helped me up while Spike and Will tried to fend off the arms, but was too late when the one holding Twilight sunk beck in the ground.

"DANIEEEEEEEEEEEEL!" She screamed when she vanished.

"TWILIGHT!" I screamed before the other arms vanished. "No...NOOOOOOOOOO!" I roared and slammed the ground a few times, leaving small craters left.

"We'll get her back. I know for certain she can't be far." Will spoke up. I growled in anger. I was too slow to save her...but I know Will is right. I just have to believe that she'll be ok. We left the room and back in the other before we heard cries and moans. We looked around and Will spoke, "Look, up there!” I looked up and gasped in shock and slight panic. The arms were groping twilight’s body in a harsh way, even opening her clothes to feel her naked skin.

My body trembled with anger, my eyes turned black. I do not tolerate anyone or anything sexually assaulting my friends. My wings sprouted as I flew to the cage. “Let her GOOOOO!” I bellowed and blasted some of my light Chakra from my palm. The arms winced and swayed in confusion from the flash. I took this chance and slashed each one to oblivion. I landed and sheathed my blade before rushing to the purple mare. “Twi, you okay?” I got no answer, but she clung to me while trembling. I frowned a bit while holding her close to me. “It’s okay. It’s over now.”

“Thank you…” She breathed. I confronted her for a moment longer before carrying her down. Her friends also hugged her, relieved she was okay. After that, I glanced at the locked door on the other side of the room. I took out the key I found from the other room before approaching it. I slipped it into the lock and turned it.

*CLICK*

It worked! The lock fell off. “Guys, the other room is open!” I called. They saw the door opened and joined me. We entered the next room which had a ledge with two switches on the floor.

“There’s a door at the ledge up there.” Spike pointed out as he pointed to the edge. He was right, there was a door waiting there.

“Good eye, Spike.” I smiled. Pushing deeper into the room, red and green slimes landed onto the floor. Goodie, more of them to deal with.

"I got this." Will approached and unsheathed his blade. One of the red ones lunged will before he, sliced it clean in half and spun his blade on the second. A green slime lunged this time before he slashed the head off as it exploded in green slime. "...Heads up." He spoke and twirled his blade and then sheathed it.

"Good work Will." I commented with a grin. He nodded before two black slimes fell from the roof. "Crud!" We jumped to the side before they got us. I groaned and I looked around for any sights of light. "Where's light when you need it?"

"How about here?" I looked and saw Pinkie sticking to the wall with plungers on her hoofs and pulled a flag away, revealing a beam of light coming down and turning the slimes into stone. I don't know how she does this. I shook my head and focused on what was important.

"Pink! Purple!" They nodded and smashed the stones into dust. The crisis was averted,

"Now what?" AJ asked while holding Twilight for support after her assault from the hands.

Daring looked at the pressure pads on the ground, and to the door that was at the ledge. "I think we should step on the pads again." I nodded in agreement and I and her stepped on them. The ledge nearby rumbled before thy created steps to the next door.

"Look we can get to the door now." Twilight smiled. They started heading for the stairs before four more black slimes fell from the roof and blocked their paths. They prepared to lunge at them.

"Shit!" I crossed my fingers. "Shadow Clone Jutsu!" Four clones popped out and tackled the slimes to clear the way for the group. "GO! GO! GO!" They quickly ran up the stairs and made it to the top. With the group safe, I and Daring spread our wings and flew to the others. Upon leaving the pads, the stairs pushed back up, preventing the slimes from climbing up to us. I breathed in relief before facing the group. "Everyone ok?"

"We're fine." they answered. We approached the next door, and much to my dismay, another black, hole was waiting there. I snarled and approached it as a hand came out. Not able to give it time, I tackled it and started stabbing and slashing my blade at it before it vanished in the shadows and popped, never to return.

With the crisis gone again, we looked around the room. The room had stone cubes, with one having a statue on it to prevent it from moving. "What do you think the cubes are for?" Fluttershy asked quietly.

Daring looked at them and through the room. "They seem to be connected to another puzzle..." We looked around before I looked closer at the first stone. It seems it can slide to a small gaping pit at the end of the wall.

"I wonder..." I started pushing the stone as it followed the way to the pit until it dropped. The ceiling opened up like a beam of light shot down in the center of the room.

Daring was surprised but gave a small grin. "Have to say, human, I never knew you were skilled in cracking puzzles." I replied with a chuckle and small blush. Pink looked at the light before looking at the room. She saw a small sun symbol on the wall.

"And I think I know what the light is for." She created her mirror again and shined the light on the symbol. It cracked before it puffed in the dust, behind it, revealed another cube behind it. We were in shock that there was a secret hidden behind the wall.

"But what about the statue?" Will asked, pointing to the pony statue on the other block. Pink grinned and shined the light on it and it shattered into pieces. This was far, one of the craziest temples I have ever been in. I approached the stone that once had the statue on it as Pink joined me.

"Let see how we do this.~~~~~~~~~~" pink purred as she winked at me. I blushed and felt hard again. Fucking hate hormones. We started pushing one of the stones around as one fell into a pit. At the top, a chest appeared. We pushed the second one into the second pit and the door above opened. The puzzle was solved for this room as we moved up to the top. I grabbed what was in the chest, which happened to be a compass. Might come in handy later.

"Donny.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~" I heard Pink in my head.

I bit my lip and almost came. "...what?"

"you're a great warrior.wwwwwwwwwwwwww" she purred in my head.

"Uh....thanks, you're a great teammate and friend for helping us out this much in the temple." I replied.

"Anytime sexy.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~" I squealed, a tad and....fucking dammit!

"PIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINK!"

FINALLY! I am so relieved. After nearly 2 years of long silence and patience and long ass work. I finally have the next chapter of Equestrians Human Spirit. I personally want to thank you so sooooooo much for your patience and time. It means the world to me you all still follow me and love my work after I was gone for so long. It really makes me happy to see that. And through that long time, I give you all what you all longed for. So, my listener and I will work on getting the next chapter up as soon as possible. Note that the chapters we will publish are the original work of the chapters we worked on before my work on fanfiction was deleted. So, we need to do a ton of digging to get them out.

Also, I’m still wanting to put in OCs for the three male characters of the story. I have only three for the moment. If any of you had OCs you all wanted to put in and I never had the chance, please send them in the comments or through the mailbox. The OC maker should still be on my page somewhere. It’s been a long time since I have been on my page, but it’s there.
