Butterflies Dance In The Wind Among The Field Of Flowers

The sun, gently made its way up pass the mountaintops of Canterlot castle by the magic of Her Majesty Princess Celestia. Nestled in a very small corner of a small town called Ponyville, was an adorable cottage that had two stories on the inside, and a big field full of animals on the outside. The cottage, also had grass on the top of the roof, so it made it look like a tree.

A beautiful yellow Pegasus, with a long flowing pink mane and tail, that blew gently in the breeze, like cherry blossoms dancing in the wind in springtime, butterflies for her cutie mark, that represent her kindness and innocence among ponies and creatures great and small, and the most beautiful eyes, with a beautiful shade of blue with of the hint of green, like the gentle sea, with its graceful waves, and dances as the sun shimmered, like a beautiful and rarest of gems, that even Rarity hopes for in her collection.

She was just getting ready, for another peaceful day, tending to the animals, and going out for a nice quiet walk in the Butterfly Grove, when a mail pony knocked on the cottage door. Fluttershy walked up to the door, and opened it. "Special delivery letter for Fluttershy", said the mail pony stallion, with a light brown coat, and dark blue eyes, like the night sky, and a postage stamp on his flank for his cutie mark, giving Fluttershy a light pink envelope, with a blue stamp, and the familiar sent of rose scented essence.

"Thank you", Fluttershy said, as the post pony tipped his hat, and walked down the stone pathway, as Fluttershy closed the door behind her. Fluttershy opened the envelope, and took out the piece of paper, that was neatly folded, and had beautiful cursive writing on the paper. Fluttershy, knew that the letter was from her parents, Feather Dance, and Poesy. The letter read, Dear Fluttershy, we have decided to come over for a visit, and spend the day with our only daughter, and tell you all about how much we appreciate everything about you. Even the day you learned to fly and earned your cutie mark. We both know that you've made us proud in every way. We'll even tell you everything that happen be fore the day you were born. Look forward to seeing you again. Love, Mother and Father.

"Oh good, I'll make them a lovely tea party to welcome them."

Fluttershy, spent the morning, tending to the animals, and picking flowers from her garden, she even brewed the jasmine tea, and baked tea cakes. She was finished with everything in preparation for her parents' arrival, when she heard a knock at the door. She walked up, and as she opened the door, stood a Pegasus stallion with a coat as white as snow, with a soft gray mane and tail, like the mountains of the Northern Equestria cities, an eagle feather for his cutie mark indicating that he was as graceful as an eagle when flies, and eyes like Fluttershy's, a bright greenish blue. And next to him was a Pegasus mare, with a coat bright and pure as gold, a long flowing mane and tail, as pink as Fluttershy's, flowers for her cutie mark, saying that she is a gardener and eyes, that are a beautiful shade of purplish pink, that shame the purest rose.

"Mother, Father, welcome", Fluttershy said, as she hugged her parents in her gentle embrace. "It's so good to see you again."

"We're glad to see you, too" Feather Dance said to his daughter, as he hugged her back. Poesy kissed her daughter on her cheek. The two Pegasi, got themselves settled in, as Fluttershy, came back with a tea set, with a tea pot, and three tea cups, with pink butterflies, all over the ceramic white and gold paint, that had a tea tray, with white bunnies on it, below the set.

Fluttershy, set the tray on the table. "The tea cakes are not quite ready, they still need to be frosted." Fluttershy, went back to the kitchen, to finishing touches on her tea cakes. Feather Dance, and Poesy, looked at one of the pictures on the table. It showed Fluttershy, with a kitten, with a bandage on its left front paw. Feather Dance, and Poesy, smiled at the picture very gently.

They were stopped, however, when Fluttershy came back with a plate full of tea cakes, shaped like butterflies, with blue and pink frosting on them. Fluttershy, set the little cakes, down at the table. "Fluttershy, did we ever tell you how we came together and had you?" Poesy asked, as she raised a tea cup in her fore hoof.

"Why no Mother, it never crossed my mind to ask you and Father what happened."

"Well then, we'll tell you our story", Feather Dance answered back.

The story began, when Fluttershy's parents attended flight camp. Feather Dance was just a colt back then. A colt who wasn't afraid to talk to anypony, except that he gets very shy around fillies. He had been at flight camp for about a year, when Poesy came in to flight camp a day ago. Poesy, was a filly who too shy to talk to anypony, even to the other colts who teased her.

Feather Dance, saw two colts, who were making fun of Poesy for her love of flowers. Mustering enough courage, Feather Dance flew down and said, "Hey, why don't you two pick on somepony your own size?"

"Oh yeah? Like who?" taunted a gray Pegasus, as he snickered at the filly.

"Like me" Feather Dance barked back. The two colts, laughed at the one Pegasus who would stand up for a filly as weak as Posey. Feather Dance, snarled angrily. "I challenge you both to a flight dance fight."

"You're on", the colts answered back.

And so, the dance fight began. Though it was only two against one, it seemed fair enough that Poesy agreed to be the judge. The two colts, started first. They did a combo move, with a spin. Next it was Feather Dance's turn. He did a very graceful routine that nopony had ever seen in flight camp before. Even Poesy was amazed.

A flash appeared on Feather Dance's flank, and his cutie mark, in the shape of an eagle feather appeared. Posey held Feather Dance's fore hoof, declaring that he is the winner.

"Wow, that was amazing, uh.. uh.. I don't even know your name", Poesy said.

"I'm Feather Dance."

"Hi, Feather Dance, I'm Poesy."

The two Pegasi, had spent all of flight camp together. Then, they went to all different activities together, after flight camp was over. As they grew older, they officially became marefriend, and coltfriend. Feather Dance decided, it was finally time to ask Posey for her hoof in marriage. He bought a very beautiful, diamond ring, with an emerald at the center of the ring. And he put the small ring box in his saddlebag.

Feather Dance, took Posey, out to the park in Ponyville, in a garden of roses, on a full moon night. "Posey, I wrote you a poem." He took out a small piece of paper, and read it aloud. "Poesy, my lovely mare. With sunlight in your long flowing pink hair. With a coat as pure as gold. You have a beautiful song untold. And so I plead on bended knee, my Poesy, will you marry me?"

Posey's eyes weld up with tears. "Yes, I will."

The two Pegasi were wed, four months after their engagement. Poesy woke up a few weeks after the wedding, feeling nauseous. Feather Dance told her to see the doctor. "Am I alright, doctor?"

"You're fine, you're just pregnant, Mrs. Dance.", the doctor said. Poesy, fainted.

She told Feather Dance the good news. He was over the moon. Time passed quickly, Feather Dance, and Poesy, were making things ready for the new baby. They bought a crib, a mobile, a monitor, and diapers. Feather Dance threw Poesy a baby shower. But during all that time, they wanted their baby to be a surprise.

One spring day, Poesy went into labor. "Feather Dance!"

"What is it Poesy?!"

"It's time."

Feather Dance stayed right by Poesy's side during the home birth. And with one last push, the baby was crying. It was a healthy, baby girl. Feather Dance, held his newborn daughter in his arms. He was crying tears of joy. He named her Fluttershy. That night, when Feather Dance and Poesy were tucking Fluttershy in her crib, Poesy said, "I hope you'll grow up gentle and kind, and whatever you do with your life, your father and I will be so proud."

Fluttershy, was wiping away the tears in her eyes. She said, as her parents hugged her and said their goodbyes to her, "I will always love you Mother and Father. And I will always try to find ways to make you both proud."
