//-------------------------------------------------------// Lover's Heart Break -by SuperKnight- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Holding Tight //-------------------------------------------------------// Holding Tight "I... love you." "I love you, too." Fluttershy brushed her mane forward, creating a barrier between us. "I-... I can't believe-" "-You can't?" I said, reaching my hoof through her mane to caress her cheek; smirking as a high pitched 'eep' escaped from the other side of the pink colored barrier. In a swift motion, I tugged my hoof away from her cheek and wrapped it around her body, pulling her closer into my chest. "What can't you believe?" I could feel her relax as she melted into me. "I-It's just..." I pulled her even closer. "Hm?" "Ah... nothing- never mind," she said while readjusting her mane to hide her face once again. "Just acting worried again, s-sorry." Parting through the pink wall and nuzzling the base of her neck, I responded with "Don't tell me you're going shy again." She playfully shoved my muzzle away, rolling over to face me with a sly grin. "You know I'd never do that." Light flowed like water from the fresh morning sun through the window, covering us in its warmth. The bed creaked as Fluttershy move closer, resting her head on my chest. This is the scene I woke up to every morning. Cuddling, messing around, and even the occasional early love making is how we spent our first part of the day. It was such a dream- I couldn't believe how far I'd come in this little village. A brief flashback of me coming here a homeless drifter invaded my mind, making me tense up somewhat. Luckily, I had managed to snag a job at the local Inn before my situation really got bad, and I quickly found myself moving up the social ladder. Before long, I had an apartment, fresh food, and even managed to capture the love of my dearest Fluttershy. Our relationship had a rather awkward start up- but in the end, we got along pretty well. Even moved into her house after a few months.  All in all, everything was going pretty well for me. There was just one thing- "Smooth." I could feel the air tense around me as Fluttershy turned, and in a worried voice, said "Y-you mind if I ask you something?" Her wide eyes looked at mine- causing me to be taken aback by the sudden change of atmosphere. I sighed, leaning back into my pillow. "Come on, 'Shy. I've said it a million times-" "-I can ask you anything, I-I know," she interjected while pushing herself upright. "It's just... y-you know, embarrassing." She took a deep breath, exhaling with furrowed brows. "Ah- well-... what do you think about having a-... f-foal?" My hair stood on end as I instantly shot up, stammering "Wait- y-you're- you're-!?" The previously faint mare quickly gained a new tone of cherry to her cheeks, waving her hoofs back and fourth as she shouted. "N-no! Not t-that!" With a sigh, I let my body collapse back on the bed. "Hah, you almost gave me a heart attack." "So... y-you don't want them? "Didn't say that." "Does that mean yes?" Glancing over at the clock, I fumbled out of the bed. "Let's talk about it after I get home from work, alright?" "...Alright." She didn't sound too happy with my answer. To be honest, I wasn't either. Being put on the spot never really was something I handled well. Years of trail and error, however, had taught me that the best thing to do when asked a question like that was to just stall. Now I at least there was a few hours put between me and my answer. After a quick shower and self fix up, I made my way down stairs and saw Fluttershy starting on her animal feeding routine. Contrary to her appearance, she was actually quite strong, and was managing to lift a pretty hefty bag of chicken feed with ease. "Hey, need me to pick anything up while I'm gone?" "Ah- more fruit, please." She said, balancing the large bag as she poured the feed into their respective bowls. With a quick nod, I was off. Leaves accompanied the winter wind as they both blew across the small dirt path. The orchestra of awakening animals started to fade as the taller structures of Ponyville started to peek over the rolling hills. Even with such a pleasant scene laid out for me, gloominess had clouded my mind. There was just one thing wrong- one thing- Another gush of cold wind brushed against me, stopping my mind mid-thought. 'It'll be fine,' I said to myself- concealing my inner emotions with a forced smile. 'It's not like anypony will find out, and besides- I'll end it soon.' Dragging my attention elsewhere, I turned to the sky. 'Clear skies today. Hope the weather team will be able to keep it that way.' I smiled, not from the fact that I'd get to expect another week of clear skies, but because I found joy in such a banal fact. 'Man, I really am a goof.' "You know, it looks kinda weird when you trot around with your head up like that." I stopped in my tracks, instinctively looking down at the young sounding voice. "Spike? Why are you all the way out here?" "Uh, out where?" Before I could eye the distance to the town, I became shocked. Somehow, I had already made it within the town limits in the seemingly short amount of time I had my mind on the sky. "Day dreaming?" "Yeah, I guess so. Thanks for getting my attention." I glanced around, sighing in relief as I found myself on the usual path to work. "I probably would've wondered off somewhere if it wasn't for you." "No problem buddy." He gave a thumbs up, showing off his fangs as he smiled. Spike was the closest thing I had to a "guy friend" in this town. When Fluttershy introduced me to her friends, he was the only one who I really got to know and started to hang out with. For a young dragon, he was actually pretty knowledgeable- "There was, uh... actually something I wanted to talk to you about, Smooth." Spike lowered his voice as he glanced to the side. "Uh... about, you know, Rarity..." -Knowledgeable about everything except love, which was something I quickly found out after discovering his quest to woo the local seamstress. "Sorry, but I don't want to be late-" "Wait-wait-wait," he stammered out, "It'll only take a second!" "Alright, but only because I owe you for getting my head out of the clouds. Need some more pointers?" Spike shook his head back and fourth. "No, I don't think I can do it right." "What do ya' mean? You did great at the park last week!" He face palmed, muttering "I spilled my drink all over her favorite dress." "Well, you-... It wasn't-..." He shook his head again. "Listen, I know you're short on time- so I'll make it quick. I want you to talk to her for me." "Huh?" He pointed at my flank. "I know what your specialty is- I mean, look at your cuite mark, it's a freakin' heart! So, you know, just do your thing, but for me! You'll do it, right? Please?" Spike blurted his plea out, pulling out his trademark puppy eyes and turning them full force against me. "I don't know if that'll even work!" "We can try, right?" Ah, dammit. "We'll see. Maybe tomorrow-" "Thank-you-thank-you-thank-you!" He shouted before running off into the newly awakened bustle of Ponyville. I shook my head before galloping down the road. 'Hopefully I'm not too late!' "A-...aye, put it... on... my tab." "Sure thing." The tan colored pony nodded his head before stumbling out the door, obviously intoxicated, and leaving the scent of alcohol behind. He was a regular, and his slowly building tab showed it. As I looked out through the open door, I could see the sun starting to set behind the buildings, along with some ponies preparing to shut down. The other staff members gave me a quick nod before they themselves left the store. I guess even they had gotten used to me staying after. "You think that bum will ever pay?" My first reaction to the female voice was to flinch. "Ah- I-I don't know." I turned my eyes to the ground, avoiding eye contact as I felt a rush of energy go down my spine. This was the start of the inevitable. Berry brushed her pink tail against my flank as she moved to my side, whispering "Don't think I didn't see you come in late today. We'll have to do something about that, won't we?" Another burst of energy rushed through my system, this one reaching my head. "Seems so." There was only one thing wrong about my life here in Ponyville. "Well, comon'." Berry switched the "open" sign to "closed" before closing and locking the door, lazily gazing over my way. "Let's get started, Smooth." I could feel the testosterone raging within as I smirked, saying "Let's." I hopped over the counter, following Berry into the room labeled "staff only." You see, my real name wasn't Smooth Moves. It was just a mask. My real name? Love Sick. Unbeknownst to most, my cutie mark doesn't exactly mean that my special talent is love- personally, I think such a thing- if it really existed- would just be silly. No, my cutie mark shows that I'm addicted to the feeling- the experience- of going through love. Somehow, this also came with the ability of being a great sweet talker, though that combined with my addiction only made my current situation worse. While playing the role of Smooth Moves, I was able to control my urges to an extent, but all it took was a little something to trigger me into a massive lust. An accidental touch, holding eye contact for too long, or in this case, getting a little too close to your boss after she wanted to see you after work. I only knew Berry Punch by her name and her work status, and that's probably the most she knows about me; but nonetheless, we found ourselves in a routine of having sex after work. The amount of guilt I felt afterwards was unbearable, and it almost drove me insane thinking about it. Smooth Moves loves Fluttershy, Love Sick loves everyone, and the two personas were always fighting to take control of the shell of a lilac colored earth pony. To be honest, my feelings were sometimes so unclear- I wasn't sure who I really loved- if I did actually love anypony at all. I knew that my life was a train wreck waiting to happen. In fact, a situation like this is exactly what caused me to get fired after my previous boss in Trottingham found out about my other relationships. Before that it was Canterlot, Las Pegasus- I was going to run out of places to go at this rate. Like always, I stuck to one simple line- something that was proved wrong many times, but still brought me comfort. It's not like anypony will find out, right?
