She had twins!
Rarity awoke with a start wild dreams filled her night and this morning was filled with the aftertaste of last nights meal.
A mares night party at Twilights castle didn't help. Was it cold peperoni pizza and warm cider?
She pulled off her sleep mask and rolled the sheets off, The cold morning air shocked her senses a gurgle from below warned her of the impending gag reflex.
She raced to the bathroom her face flushed and her cheeks exploding out as the offending contents were launched to the local waste treatment facility via the commode.
She continued with her high maintenance routine - deep muzzle cleansing - make up - lashes. Using the mirror she noticed her
looks were worth a million bitts but her girth looked like the results of a million jelly rolls.
"Oh dear" she gasped "How did I get so, So ah" she couldn't get herself to say the words ' F.A.T. overweight chubby big boned'.
As if it was taboo she gazed into the mirror once more and cringed. Even her muzzle looked way too large.
Thinking she hurried downstairs to the mirrors in her showroom hoping that a change of mirrors would erase the added girth.
"I'll just camouflage" she said as she tried on some outfits her eyes looked down at her midsection the fabric straining and her belly bursting out all over. Another outfit another failure the more garments she tried the tighter they felt 'What is this?'
With a huff she threw on a cloak to cover up and shuffled to the door 'Business is business I'll figure out my figure later'.
The sign was turned the front door unlocked business as usual for the weekend was now. . .
"What cha doing?" Pinkie Pie eyed Rarity in her cloak "Are you getting ready for an opera or a bank robbery
are you going to play Wonder Mare or or or are you going to do a magic trick?" No no no and no...
Raritys eyes followed in sync with Pinkies bouncy beat till Rarity shook her head returning to her dress shop duties.
Pinkie twisted her head and popped to Raritys side poking and prodding the marsh mellow mares squishy body.
"Gee looks like somemares getting a little pudgy". 'HOW RUDE!'
The puffy marsh mellow turned and if looks could kill Pinkie would be a zombie twice over and burned with dragons fire.
"Don't even go there" Rariry growled.
"Hi Pinkie" a trio of voices called out when the Cutie Mark Crusaders trotted into the boutique.
"Hello Sweetie Belle" Rarity changed gears smiling "What brings you three here I thought you gals were going crusading today?"
"Yea, We did but seeing some frogs and fish spawning we got to talking about colt cooties" Scootaloo said with a gagging hoof motion.
"Oh but look at the Cakes they had twins!" Pinkie giggled "It's not so bad, Snuggling cuddling kissing and The fun stuff and the coltfriends and the foal sitting! and the parties .Oh little bitty Pound and Pumkin are so snuggly wuggly cutie wootsie".
"Oh gross kissing and snuggling causes babies" Scootaloo gaged.
Sweetie Belle laughed "Reptiles spawn like fish how gross"
"I'll wait for the right stallion you gals are just too silly, Spawning reptiles" Applebloom giggled.
Rarity eyed Pinkie "Kissing Doesn't cause babies". 'Wait till you're in the delivery room pushing, HARD!'
Pinkies smile began to grow "Spawning Reptiles?" Her smile deepened "How would you know?" Her smile hurt.
Rarity countered "Stallions and mares need more than kissing to. . ." She looked at the three fillies and stopped.'PG -13 Dear'.
Pinkie blinked and leaned in and whispered gently in Raritys ear "But what about D, R, A, G, O, N, S, ?"
Rarity shook her head "NO Pinkie" Her eyes going crossed "That's. . ." 'She might have a point".
Silence filled the air as Raritys brain stripped it's cogs and gears her spinning bobbins crashing inside her skull.
'Unicorn magic dragon magic? Hugs and kisses? Reptiles spawning? Pegasus babies and baby unicorns from earth ponies?'
"I had Morning sickness too big for my garments belly popping out of my normal outfits?" Rarity droned on in a whisper
"Magical love what do we really know about dragons? No that's impossible! Is it? Cuddling spawning reptiles?
Spells, love poisons, magical alicorns assistant". 'What?'
Sweetie spoke up she could read her big sister like an old opera play bill "Rarity are you all right?"
Raritys eye twitched "Dragon cooties? Spi Spi spi Spi spi Spi spi". 'Nope not going down that path!'. IMPOSSABLE ? ME?

The four new shop keepers watched a shell shocked Rarity bounce off the door frame three times finally rebounding onto the front porch

Pinkie turned to the Cutie Mark Crusaders "Girls want to have some fun?"
Rarity sat before Twilight they were sipping tea talking about life under the crystal ceiling but she was still unsure how to break the ice about her doubts to the cause of her sudden weight gain so she just let it out.
"Twilight do I look overweight to you?"
Raritys nerves were getting the better of her she looked as if she was sitting on a cushion of pins and needles.
Twilight glanced at Rarity and flatly said "You look fine to me I don't see anything".
"Are you sure? You know how the pounds can sneak up on you without warning". Rarity whispered.
Twilight leaned in and she began to smirk "Spike ? Can you come down here?" She yelled.
Raritys panic like her cat Opalessence came out to play "Spike ? No he can't see me like this! Please Twilight No!"
Twilight laughed at Raritys display "Spikes out shopping. What's gotten into you? Rarity are you OK?"
"Twilight do dragons spawn?" Raritys eyes bugged out and hair frizzing as she covered her face with her cloak.
"What?" Twilight asked tilting her head.
"Do dragons spawn like other reptiles like frogs?" Rarity whispered from under her cloak her worried eyes the only clue to her plight.
Twilight looked confused and asked away "Is this a question about dragons in general or are you and Spike in some sort of trouble?"
Rarity answered sweating "Well the Crusaders were talking about frogs and fish spawning and I was just curious , That's all".
"Spawning reptiles? We got lots of books on reptiles". Twilight said dryly like a stale piece of yesterdays toast.
Rarity frowned "But what about dragons, like Spike?" defeat sounding through her voice.
Twilight thought for a second and her horn glowed using her magic she pulled out a burned and weathered
picture album and started flipping through the pages. Inside a history of the baby dragon was laid out to blue eyes and open hearts.
Twilight and Rarity paged through the memories of Canterlot and the earlier family times in the house of Light.
They saw bath times play times music and dance lessons graduations for both an advanced student and an equally advanced drake.
The time passed quietly till a familiar dragons voice interrupted the two mares trek through the pages of time.
"Twilight I'm back they were out of Celestia Oats so I picked up High Fiber Twiggs instead, Otherwise I got everything on your list".
Spike froze when he saw the album in front of Rarity. "Hi Rares" slowly he approached the two and peeked at the photo.
"Aw Come on Twilight! You got to be kidding me ! Did Rares see the bath tub shots? Oh no how could you?"
Spike covered his head running under Raritys cloak she could feel the heat of embarrassment as Spike steamed out his objections.
Rarity could only coo over Spikes cute display of indignant protests as Twilight rolled on the kitchen floor her laughter filling the room.
When all was quiet Spike realized where he was and leaped out from under Raritys cloak stumbling and falling on his tail.
"Whoa I'm so sorry I didn't scare you did I?" Spike bowed to Rarity and giving Twilight a hidden stink eye.
"Still can't believe you showed Rarity my baby baby pictures" Spike whispered in protest.
Rarity over heard Spikes remark and took a sip of tea "Spike you have the most adorable chubby cheeks I've ever seen".
Spike could only hide his face as Twilight returned to her place at the table placing a cup for him and filling her own.
Twilight cleared her throat "Ahem. speaking of chubby, Spike how does Rarity look today" A smirk growing on her muzzle.
Rarity spat out her tea in surprise and shot Twilight a look that would freeze the shadowed hands of a sundial.
Spike took a slow breath looked at his tea and slowly brought the cup to his snout taking a long calming sip,
He then nervously set the cup down in front of him a blush filling his cheeks. He squirmed in his seat and folded his claws in front
of himself just as a gentledrake should do. Just as any young colt taught in the finest of finishing schools should do.
He closed his eyes and began to answer Twilights question.
"Rarity, Anyone would be a crazy foal not to spent time with you, From the first day to the last sunset would be a Celestial blessing. It's not what you are that's so attractive. It's who you are. As for Twilights chubby question? No. Anypony stupid enough to
pass on a mare like you is a complete and total loser. It would be their loss.And you have a great smile and a nice flank" His last words whispered softly as if Fluttershy herself possessed the little dragon.
All was quiet the clock on the wall ticked along timing steam clouds wafting up as Raritys tears came down from her eyes.
Twilight seeing the young dragon doing a grand display sat looking at the pair in complete surprise.
Rarity leaned in close to Spikes snout her muzzle just about touching. . . Her lips pursed closer, closer even closer still.
Twilight was about to say something when Rarity whispered to Twilight. . .
"Twilight dear I think our precious scales has fainted" She nuzzled him on the cheek. "Yes, He's out like last years fashions".
Back in the boutique Pinkie and the Crusaders watched the shop the mirrors and the extra racks of outfits.
Laughter and giggles flowed like a river flooded beyond it's banks. The party of four were busy moving tarp covered objects and
snacking on cupcakes and washing them down with boxes of tasty juice peach juice orange juice and apple juice.
The bell rang above the door as Twilight Spike and Rarity entered the shop. Eyes met eyes and a surprised Pinkie opened the first volley.
"Hi ya Rarity , Ah nice day we're having isn't it?"
Pinkie looked around pulling on her neck like an invisible shirt collar, letting out a bellow of steam that raised to the ceiling.
Her three partners in crime spoke up at once pointing hooves at the pink joker.
"We didn't have a thing to do with the fun house mirrors" squealed Sweetie Belle.
"We had nothing to do with the stitched up outfits She replaced in your closet!" Scootaloo scolded ratting her out "That so uncool".
"And we knew you couldn't get a baby from swapping spit with Spike cause he's not that type of gentledragon" said Applebloom.
"Bye eeeeeeeeeeee Pinkie bolted out the door in a pink blur and a cloud of cotton candy dust.
Spike looked at Rarity then to Twilight a smirk on his snout quietly shaking his head.
Twilight giggled "Fun house mirrors?"
Rarity fumed "It is so ON!"
The Cutie Mark Crusaders watched everything and said nothing finishing off the cupcakes and juice.
