After another battle with the rivaling families, Jackie Estacado is mortally wounded. The only rational choice is to let the Darkness out and let it heal him, but the repercussions could make it not worth it. After the Darkness is let out, keeping Jackie alive, he tries to keep them back in once more, but starts to fail consecutively. The Darkness grows weary of his struggles and simply kill him, hoping to go to his next of kin, forgetting that he has no kids, they go with him. He is soon reborn into some colorful land full of goddamn talking ponies, what will happen?
