So go to Lucilia Belle’s Research Facility and get a new job today!” On a warm and dark night, the research facility was being watched by a security guard from the monitors. Once he took a sip of his Diet Coke, he saw something strange on one of the screens. He gulped down on his soda as he checked to investigate, but suddenly, the figure disappeared. He then heard some loud footsteps coming by from outside the room as he got up from his computer chair and exited to the hallways. He turned on his flashlight as he forgot to let the door open… The guard slowly walked his way to find the source of the noise until he heard it again and again. Finally, he heard some ominous music as he shined the light on the source of the music, a radio. He then turned it off as he heard some screeching. This scared him so much that he immediately ran back to the monitor room and locked the door shut. But however, once he sighed in relief, he heard some laughter. Once he turned around, he was taken down by a mysterious figure… “AAAAAAH!!” It was another sunny day in town as Canterlot High was finally closed for the summer. Many students were excited for another summer vacation as they planned to go on new trips and vacations. But however, Sunset Shimmer, was in her bedroom, being bored for another day in late June. Her friends, Rainbow Dash, Applejack, Rarity, Fluttershy, and Pinkie Pie were going on a one-week trip to Canada and Sunset couldn’t come with them, because she was sick that time. The poor girl was so sick that her friends had to go without her and miss her throughout the entire vacation. But now that Sunset was better already, it was too late to come with them. She was going to miss them for the entire week, but they promise her that they will being her something from Canada as well. Now that Sunset was alone, she didn’t know what to do. She needed to find a new job for a while since she hadn’t had one for a while. It was time for her to find one, and the summertime was the perfect time to do it. So, she put on her clothes and went outside, searching for something that she would do for the entire week. She first went to Sugarcube Corner, but it turns out that she was bad at making milkshakes. Then to Quills and Sofas, but she accidentally caused an impossible mess. After almost all of the jobs she tried, Sunset couldn’t take it anymore. She then walked into the streets forlorn. “Ugh, this is hopeless!” she said. “Isn’t there like one job I could take without messing up!? Forget it. There’s nothing I could do.” She then walked into a coffee shop and brought herself a cappuccino for herself. While sitting at a nearby table thinking about what to do, Sunset then spotted a newspaper rack. She took on of the newspapers and read the front cover aloud. “Want a new job as a night watcher, then come to Lucilia Belle’s Research Facility to earn cash!” Sunset smiled in joy. “Of course! I could be a night watcher! How bad can it be?” Once Sunset left the coffee shop, she was unaware of the other headline… MAN FOUND DEAD AT RESEARCH FACILITY After a long bike ride, Sunset finally enters the prestigious research facility downtown. Once she went in, she notice some police officers spreading the main floor while one of them was taking pictures of an open room blocked with police tape and actual blood. “Whoa.” Sunset marveled. “Something bad must have happen here…” She then walked to the main lobby where she walked up to possibly the owner of the building. She had brown hair that's tied into a ponytail, with brown eyes, cream-colored skin, and wore an orange shirt, a long black skirt, a white lab coat and grey stilettos. “Excuse me, ma’am? Are you the owner here?” The lady smiled at her. “Why yes, of course! May I help you with something?” “Well, I discovered that you needed a new security guard.” “Yes, but apparently, our security guard was somehow murdered last night.” Sunset’s eyes widened. “Really? Who did it anyway?” “Apparently, we don’t know! We check the security cameras if we could find the murder, but somehow, they were turned off!” “Wow. I really sorry. Oh, I forgot to introduce myself! My name is Sunset Shimmer, and I see that you’re Lucilia Belle?” “Oh no, dear! I’m Maria Wilson!” “That’s odd. Because I heard that there was a person named Lucilia Belle who owns the facility. What happened to her?” Maria looked nervous as she gave out a smile. “That’s nothing to worry about, honey! Let me just give you the tour of the facility!” Sunset’s hand was grabbed by Maria as she was walked away with her, wondering more about Lucilia… “And this is where we study more about…” Sunset couldn’t even bother listening to what Lucilia is showing her around the place as she was thinking about what happened to the facility. She wanted to know what happened to the original owner and how did these occurrences appear out of nowhere. Suddenly, she spotted a mysterious double-door room that has been locked up and covered with “DO NOT CROSS!” tape. The doors were just a few rooms away and the dim lighting made it more ominous in its appearance. “Um, what’s that room?” Sunset said to Maria. She then sensed Maria’s thoughts of fear once she looked at the doors. She turns to Sunset with an eerie smile. “Oh! Um, that room isn’t allowed for any individuals to enter! Now, do you want to move on—“ “I was just wondering what happened in there—Aah!” Sunset’s arm was grabbed tightly by an enraged Maria until Sunset slapped her hand. “Calm down! What were you doing to my arm!?” Maria looked at Sunset for a second as she sheepishly smiled. “It’s nothing, dearie! I am so sorry to what I did back there! Now let’s go back downstairs, hmm?” Once she walked away, Sunset had one last look as the doors as she went back to Maria. “So, did you enjoy the tour?” Maria said. “Um, yeah, I did.” Sunset said. “Well, I guess that’s it then! The old monitor room is not available at the moment, so you can use the advanced new one!” “Well okay then. So what time do I have to come here at?” “11:30. That’s where I will come inside last to wait for you to come in!” Sunset opened the entrance door to her back as Maria waved at her. “Good bye!” “Alright!” Sunset then rode on her bike back home as she thought about what she just witnessed. “Something’s not right about that place.” And unaware to her, a new evil will be approaching her… TO BE CONTINUED…
