It was an ordinary day for ponyville, everyone was in ponyville just minding their on business. There were flowers being bought, birds singing loudly, kids rushing to school with cards for fellow peers, and.. Oh that's right.... It was hearts and hooves day.
The six friends Twilight sparkle, Applejack, Rarity, Rainbow Dash, Pinkie pie, and FlutterShy had planned a picnic on a hill where there was a pretty good view of Canterlot. It was the girls favorite place to picnic. It was quiet and peaceful, not to mention a distance away from ponyville.
The girls always liked to hang out with each other having a picnic this time of year. They didn't really have any special some pony or anything to do. When the girls arrived at the destination they helped each other set up for the picnic. Afterward, they all took a seat on the soft grass. Except for Rarity, who had brought an awfully long couch to sit on. Applejack rolled her eyes.
"It's so great to finally have some fun you guys!" Said Twilight in a more exited and lively tone than normal. "Wow!" Said pinkie pie, "it's great to see you all pumped up and ready to have a blast!" She jumped up and down. "Yep, I brought a mathematics book and everything! Time to do some word problems and get this picnic on a roll!" Said twilight even more happy than before. She was so busy with all her princess duties it felt so great for her just getting to 'have fun'.
"Yeah.." Added Rainbow dash, "I think me and Twilight have totally different definitions of fun."
Twilight rolled her eyes. Than said, "It would actually be Twilight and I."
"Whatever." Said rainbow dash.
Twilight ignored her this time and started looking through the mathematics book.
"I simply can not believe I still haven't a special some pony for hearts and hooves day." Rarity broke that 10 seconds of silence. "It's okay Rarity," said fluttershy, "none of us do either." The girls sat for a moment eating and talking about the latest trends and Applejack having to buy a new hat because she lost hers doing a slide jump pop lock twist zig zag zing a long ring thing.
"AHHHHHH!" The girls heard a scream. "What in Tarnation was that?!" Asked applejack in a worried tone. "It sounded like it came from Canterlot." Said twilight. "Some pony probably just chipped a hoof and made a big deal about it." Said rainbow dash. "Or perhaps some pony just got proposed to." Said Rarity.
"But it sounded like a scream of fear, or maybe pain, or worse!" Said fluttershy worried herself.
"Does this mean we can go to Canterlot to see what's going on?!" Said Pinkie pie, ready for a road trip.
Twilight was thinking for a moment until she finally gave an answer,
"Maybe we shouldn't, it could be nothing at all." She said. "But what if it is?!" Asked rainbow dash.
"It's not like we have anything better to do, plus if it's a monster, I can totally take it down!" Rainbow Dash was ready for adventure that's for sure.
"Okay girls, lets go." Said twilight.
The girls arrived at the ponyville train station, when they finally got on the train that would take them to Canterlot. They took a seat. Not a single one of them talking. They were just thinking about what could be wrong. It came quick out of no where. They didn't understand.
Was something on fire?
Was Canterlot under attack?
They didn't know.
And they wouldn't until try arrived.
The train finally pulled up at the Canterlot train station. The girls were exiting one by one. It was weird. They were the only living souls on that train.. Yep, something was going on, beacause normally the train for Canterlot was FULL.
The girls were walking not noticing anything. "It all looks fine to me." Said apple jack. "You're right apple jack, maybe we did come here for nothing." Twilight replied. "Maybe we should just go......" Twilight stopped dead in her tracks along with the other girls. There jaws dropped, and the sight they saw in front of them was not pretty at all.....
