Equestria and Griffia have remained at peace, at least with each other, ever since the end of the 3rd Great War nearly 50 years ago. Nowadays, ponies and griffons operate on the global battlefield and marketplace together, working to maintain international law, order, relative prosperity, and the aforementioned "great peace". The tentative alliance was intended to foster friendship, even companionship between the two superpowers of the world as the world comes to terms with what seems to be the new reality of a griffon-pony military alliance.

Big stick diplomacy works perfectly fine against minor powers, most knowing their place in the current world order, but when one of Equestria's dependents is accused of launching a terror attack on Griffian soil, it will take all the powers of both Equestria and Griffia to keep the great peace going.
