//-------------------------------------------------------// The Adventures of The Komet -by Captain Ish- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// My Past, and Present. //-------------------------------------------------------// My Past, and Present. How do you begin a story? The ever so cliché,"Once upon a time."? Or maybe perhaps, the opening of a book, the pages flipping, as if the wind is blowing them, to a specific place? How about, the sun slowly rising over an African savannah, with a chorus chanting in the background? How about I just start by telling you who I am? My name is Skyler. Skyler Easton. I'm probably not like anyone you've ever met. But if you have met someone like me, congrats. I am what's called a "Komet". "What is a Komet?" you ask. Well, a Komet is a special type of living being. Everything needs to breathe oxygen to survive. Unless you're a plant, and you need carbon dioxide. Komets, however, can survive in any atmosphere, even the ones lacking oxygen. It's a basic ability for all Komets. So, if I were to go to Venus, I wouldn't experience any negative effects. Komets have the unique ability to survive in almost any environment. I say ALMOST any, because anything that could kill a normal human, say radiation, the Komet in that scenario would expire. The Komet homeworld, Sha'astissa, is quite special. It has no atmosphere whatsoever, yet, vegetation can grow there, and it experiences gravity just like Earth. Sha'astissa is located in the far reaches of the universe, never to be discovered by humans. Komets have a "super form", very much like a super saiyan, yet very different. While a super saiyan holds his or her form for some time, depending on the saiyan, Komets have a set time. In the core of our homeworld, lies a stone, called, The First Shooting Star, each and every Komet draws power from this stone. So when we enter our "super Komet" form, we begin drawing more power than usual from the stone. Eventually, all of that power becomes too much, and we must leave our state of super-power, before we overload with power, and ultimately, "spontaneously combust" in Layman's terms. Most Komets can hold this state for about 3-5 minutes. I, however, can hold this power for at least 15 minutes. Or, at least, I could. I first found out I was a Komet when I was 15. That was 4 years ago. Back then, I was having a really tough time in my life: my parents were divorced, I was pressured to do well in school, two of my friends had committed suicide, and I was stressed out all the time. Then one day, while I was in my room, studying, someone knocked on my door. Then it opened. An old man, wearing a dark blue cloak, with a wizard's hat in matching color, walked in. He was holding a piece of wood, I now know it was a staff, with an orb on it. Whereas, his robes were dark, the orb was bright, shining, almost pure white in color. He had a Snow White beard coming down to where the top of the stomach, and bottom of the chest meet. He said to me,"Skyler. It's time. It's time for you to discover who you are." As you may or may not imagine, I was shocked, confused, and intrigued, all at the same time. "What are you talking about? Who are you? How did you get in here?" He was talking about me learning about the Komets, and becoming one. His name was, or rather is, seeing as how he's still around, Marchev. He got into the house by picking the lock on the front door. Like humans on Earth, Komets have a social scale. Tops: Komets who are born from a Komet mother and father. Mixers: Komets whose parents consist of one Komet, and one human. Unwanteds: Komets who are born from two humans, but are exposed to cosmic radiation while in their mothers' womb. I am an Unwanted. Unwanteds are viewed as disgusting, vile, and sketchy. With Tops and Mixers, at least one of the parents is a Komet, with Unwanteds, neither of the parents are a Komet, and are thusly named: Unwanteds. When I arrived to the Sha'astissa, I immediately inlisted in the Komet military. I only signed up for about nine months of duty. Basic training took about a month and a half, then we were all shipped out to our first posts. The Komet military was much like Rome's: the mightiest one around. No one would, or could stand up to it. We fought like Romans as well; using shields and swords, bows and armor. You might be asking: "Why would they fight with swords and stuff, if they had a super saiyan power?" Well, if you're smart, you're not asking that. I don't mean to hate on you if you are but, if you'll recall, most can only hold that power for 3-5 minutes. We were trained not to use the power unless we absolutely HAD to. The reason I'm so powerful is because, I was exposed to at least 2 days worth of cosmic radiation. That's a lot, even for a normal Komet. No one's really sure where that radiation came from. Marchev still won't say how he found out about me, but I suspect he has the power to sense the presence of Komets throughout the universe. A year after my military duty, and some very complicated Council meetings, somehow, I became the Prince. The Komets had a government based on a democratic monarchy. Meaning, at least for Komets, there is a prince/princess, and a council serving under them. If something happens to the  monarch, and they leave no heir, the leading council member would take the monarch's place. I was very unpopular for my time as prince. Being an Unwanted, most citizens were disgusted that someone like me could be prince. A civil war started. I was the first Unwanted monarch. The other Unwanteds gave me their full support. I had the support of most of the military. Sadly, the council was not on my side. They engaged in our Marshall Law, putting the monarch aside, and the council making decisions as one. I was named an outcast and a rogue. From that day forward, I was known only as "The Rogue". I was forced into exile. The other Unwanteds, being terribly upset, started riots, which ultimately led up to another civil war. After the second civil war, the nation was left crippled and weak. Insert: the Blaizers. The Blaizers are best described as: Komets who left long ago, and became the modern version of Star Trek's Klingon. I did not know about this. I was in exile. One night, I came back to the town outside of the castle, and slaughtered everyone. No one was safe. Men, women, children, infants, no one. I did this out of spite and anger. The event later became known as "The Rogue's Massacre". After I was exiled, I was cut off. Meaning my ties to the stone were severed. I couldn't access my form anymore. I had no source of power to draw from. My third year of being a Komet was rather stale, wandering, running from Blaizers. Sometime during the second civil war, Marchev went into his own exile, I spent most of my third year looking for him. I also met the Riki. The Riki is... I don't know what it is. Other than, it only shows up when a world needs my help. Imagine an upside down gourd, with arms, and a bowling ball face. And it's also covered in leaves. I've been to the Mushroom Kingdom, Hyrule, the world of Equestria Girls, Alternia, Dreamland, and Archanea and Valm. There are things called "cores". This is irrelevant to anything I've just said, but it's important. Long ago, a Komet, now only known as "Saint", created elemental cores. Cores that could be used to greatly enhance a Komets' abilities, and they did exactly that. The only known ones that he created are: life, death, light, darkness, time, galaxy, fire, water, grass, wind, lightning, chaos, and earth. Most scholars believe he created more, but no one really knows. Those are the only ones that have been found. I posses the galaxy, light, darkness, and chaos cores. Komets can only use one core at a time, this is because of power. None are powerful enough to use more than one at one once, including me. The only one who has been able to use two at once was, Saint. My physical appearance, of course. I'm 5'7", black hair, blue eyes. There. That's what I look like. Oh, yeah. And I'm a guy too. Now, I'm ready to begin the story. Are you, reader, ready to read it? "Where the fuck did this go wrong?" I was sitting behind a door in the heart of the Blaizers' castle. I'd caught wind that they'd been working on a new weapon. So, naturally, I'm hell bent on destroying it. One problem: I'm lost. They'd renovated the castle or something. You'd think I'd know my old home but, no. No. I'm lost. They changed a bunch of shit. Now I'm lost. And I'm really getting thirsty, and hungry, so the sword on my back is beginning to feel heavier. This sword was made by me, for me. It's got a handle made of leather and steel, painted to look like gold. The blade has a core of diamond, and an edge of obsidian. In between that, was steel. To top it off, I'd enchanted the thing to be practically weightless in my hand. I wore tan, lace-up combat boots, black cargo pants, a white tee shirt, a white trench coat, my sword on my back, and underneath it all, was a layer of chain mail. I was proud of myself to make it this deep into enemy territory, undetected, with a silent kill or two, but that was all worth nothing, knowing that I was LOST. I tried to remember the layout of the castle. "Okay, the weapon is in the dungeons. I need to get there, undetected, and get out undetected." I walked out of the room I was in, took a left, went straight for a bit, hooked a right, found some stairs, went down them and came to a fork in the path. "Well shit. Which way do I go?" I looked at the path to the left, then at the one to the right, then back to the left. "Right it is!" I went down the right path, and finally found the dungeons. "There you are." Sitting in front of me, was something mounted on four legs, it had a cannon barrel pointing upwards, with a control panel with assorted buttons and dials on one side. "Ah. This looks like a self-destruct." I said, pressing a glowing red button on the panel. Then the weapon started to rumble, and electricity started crackling out of the top. "I might want to run." I turned around and started running back towards the door. You know how, when you play "Amnesia", people will tell you that the first rule is:"Never look behind you."? I just fuckin' broke that rule. There was a dark hole opening up under the weapon. Tables, and instruments of torture were falling into it, but the weapon stayed where it was. Then I noticed that the radius of the hole was increasing faster than I was running. "Oh shit." I put on some more speed, I was almost to the open doorway when I jumped towards it. Then I started falling into the nothingness of the hole. "No! Shit! God damn it!" The last thing I remember was falling, falling. Just falling until it just stopped. I woke up, slightly. I saw 4 cyan cylinders in front of me. I was on my stomach. I saw white all around. I felt something under me. It was cold. "Snow?" I managed to squeak out. Whatever was in front of me spoke, in a worried, tomboyish voice,"Ohmigosh! I have to go get Twilight!" It said before turning around and taking flight. I caught a glimpse of a rainbow. I recognized what was in front of me just before. "Rainbow Dash." I said, before blacking out.
