Black Arms Returnby King XenoChaptersBlack CometStrange CreaturesShadow the HedgehogThe PrincessesThe MeetingBlack DoomBlack CometIt was done… On the planet known as Earth, their war with the stars was over… Black Doom, the leader of an evil and destructive alien race known as the Black Arms has fallen, the Black Comet has been destroyed… Or so the people of Earth thought… In truth it had only been moved, warped away. It floated through space, while the Black Arms had recovered their leader. Black Doom lives, though he is injured, he will live. The Black Comet moved at a slow pace, where they would land… It was unknown. However the Black Arms knew that wherever the Black Comet went, they would spread death and destruction… It was a beautiful night, in Equestria, many ponies gathered outside of their homes with food, and blankets, having a late night picnic while they waited for a meteor shower to start. However the small town of Ponyville, had perhaps the most excited pony there. Twilight Sparkle was setting up a blanket for her friends and herself. After all, she loved to gaze at the work of the Princesses, the beautiful stars, the bright days. She finished setting up the blanket and placed a basket full of snacks and food down on top of it. She lifted up a scroll and a quill then checked another thing off her list. All she had left to do was set up her telescope. “Just a few more minutes until they should get here.” She said to herself, while she adjusted the telescope to look up at the meteors and comets that would pass by. She finished and began to wait for her friends, who would be arriving soon. One by one her friends came over and began to sit around the blanket. The simple apple farmer, Applejack. The fashionable, Rarity. The shy and gentle, Fluttershy. The fast and adventurous, Rainbow Dash. The crazy party pony, Pinkie Pie. Finally there was her, the smart and curious, Twilight Sparkle. However one more would join them, Twilight’s assistant, Spike. The baby dragon had been helping her for years now, and he was one of her best friends. The meteors began to fall, leaving golden, blue, and white trails as they soared across the sky. They each took turns peeking through the telescope, looking at the beautiful comets. However Spike found something interesting. “Um… Guys…? There’s this weird comet… It’s kind of ugly looking…” He muttered, but Twilight thought he was just being rude. “Spike, it can’t be…” She had begun, but when she looked at the comet, she felt the same way. It was very ugly with long spikes, and several craters, the disgusting purple trail it left was nauseating. Twilight wasn’t sure what to make of this comet. “Let me see!” Rainbow Dash shouted, pushing Twilight out of the way. “I want to see too!” Pinkie shoved her way to look. “What is it like?” Rarity asked, squeezing in to get a peek. “Is it scary?” Fluttershy wondered, waiting her turn to see. “That is one ugly comet…” Applejack muttered, looking at the comet. However, they all noticed that it was getting more and more difficult to see the comet through the telescope, and when they looked upwards towards the sky, they could see why. The comet was approaching the planet, it was huge! Larger than the library, larger than all of Ponyville! It had begun to pick up speed as it came closer and closer to them, but it narrowly missed the small town and crashed deep into the Everfree forest. "That thing almost took our heads off!" Rainbow Dash shouted, but she knew that it was dangerous to go into the Everfree forest, especially at night. She knew that they would have to investigate, but it should be done during the day, and she also knew that Twilight would need to write a letter to the Princess. "Spike, take a letter..." Twilight instructed and the small dragon took out a scroll and quill then began to write. "Dear Princess Celestia, During Princess Luna's meteor shower, a mysterious and disturbing object crashed nearby in the Everfree forest, while we do not know if it is dangerous or not, we will wait until morning to investigate. Your faithful student, Twilight Sparkle." Spike rolled up the letter and blew his green fire on it, causing the scroll to disappear, where it would then be delivered to Princess Celestia, who might be able to shed some light on this mysterious object. Until then however they could only let their imaginations flow and think about what the object may or may not be. While they each had their own theories, they would never be sure. "It's a bunch of aliens! They've come to invade and try to kill us all!" Rainbow Dash shouted, which frightened Rarity and Fluttershy, but Applejack and Twilight weren't so sure. "It ain't no aliens. It's just a comet. Ain't nothing dangerous about it." Applejack argued, but Pinkie Pie had her own idea. "OH! WHAT IF IT'S A GROUP OF INTERGALACTIC PARTY PLANNERS AND WE'RE THEY'RE ONE HUNDREDTH PLANET AND WE GET A FREE GALACTIC SIZED PARTY!" Pinkie shouted, although the others knew that wasn't the case, they said nothing to ruin her happiness. "What if Rainbow Dash is right? What if it is evil aliens...? What would we do...?" Fluttershy asked, clearly scared to death by rainbow Dash's assumption. "Don't worry darling. I'm sure nothing will try to hurt us. After all, what would we have done to deserve it?" Rarity said attempting to comfort Fluttershy, However if it had an effect it was not seen. The Black Comet sat in the middle of the Everfree forest, it holding the numberless soldiers of the Black Arms inside, who were eager to conquer this world, but until their leader was fully healed, they could not act. They would have to patient, while Black Doom rested. They knew nothing about this place or its inhabitants, but what they knew was they could conquer it as long as HE doesn't get involved. Should HE get involved then the Black Arms stand little to no chance of conquering this world. They could only hope and wait... Strange CreaturesThe Mane Six stood outside the Everfree forest, knowing that once they entered, they may not return, but to find out what this mysterious object is would be their main objective. So they began their trek through the forest, strangely not seeing anything dangerous. No signs of any Timber Wolves, no Manticores in sight, and not a single Cockatrice to be seen. While this was good, it also could mean that whatever this thing was, it could be dangerous. However they found the object and confirmed it to be a meteor. It was a dark reddish brown, this particular shade of color disgusted Rarity, but she knew that they needed to examine it fully. "So what are we looking for?" Rainbow Dash asked, but she got no response, for something else had gotten the others attention. A creature stood across from them, it had black and red skin, with large yellow eyes. It walked on two legs and had what appeared to be hands. It stared at them, but beyond that it did nothing else. "What is that... Monster?" Rarity asked, but it quickly turned and began to run towards the comet, before disappearing around it. However when the ponies followed, they found it nowhere to be seen. Whatever this monster was, it was more afraid of them, then they were of it... "See! Aliens! I called it!" Rainbow Dash shouted. "We don't know that, it may simply be a curious creature never seen before. It was most likely investigating the comet like we are." Twilight argued, but Rainbow Dash rolled her eyes. It was true that the creature did seem alien like, but there was no proof that it was. So they simply needed to investigate further, and hope that something will come up. Fluttershy moved around the object a few times before letting out a squeak of fear. There were five of the creatures now, and they each looked at her with their big yellow eyes. "Hello... Who are you? What are you?" Fluttershy asked, she took a small step forward and the creatures let out growls and grunts that sounded angered. "Did I do something to upset you?" Fluttershy asked, but the creatures began to run at her, and she felt them begin to slam their fists on her as hard as they could. Fluttershy let out cries and screams of pain, which got the attention of her friends. They rushed over and the creatures noticed them, and stopped their attack. They ran off, turning around the side of the meteor and didn't return. "Fluttershy! What happened!?" Twilight asked, but Fluttershy was lying on the ground, covering her face with her forelegs, and she could be heard sobbing. Rainbow Dash then knew that these things were dangerous, and so did everypony else. Twilight was fearful however, fearful of what would happen to them if they remained here any longer. "We need to get back to Ponyville! Quickly!" Twilight shouted, before she helped Fluttershy onto her hooves. The six began to run from the comet, unaware that they were being watched. The Black Arms with their advanced and strange alien technology had seen everything, and they now knew what this planet's dominant species was, at least one of them. The Black Arms let out sounds of joy and rage, knowing that their leader would soon be healed, and they could soon launch an attack. Twilight used her magic to place an icepack on Fluttershy's head, for it was swelling from the monsters' attack. While she was glad her friend was not seriously injured, those monsters now made her nervous. Maybe Rainbow Dash was right... Twilight shook her head, that was utterly ridiculous. Evil aliens... Yeah right... On a planet far away from the ponies and the Black Arms a celebration was happening. A pitch black hedgehog with red marking along his ears and quills, and a white tuft of fur looked up at the night sky. His red eyes scanning for any sign of the Black Arms still being out there. Their leader's words rang through his mind over and over again. "Just you wait Shadow... The Black Arms WILL rise again... And you'll pay for your treachery." The black hedgehog was interrupted from his thoughts by a hand grabbing his shoulder. He turned to face a creature like him, a hedgehog, only this one was blue with emerald green eyes, bare arms, and a peach colored belly. "What are you doing over here Shadow? We're having a party in your name. You saved the world, maybe even the universe from Black Doom and his army." The blue hedgehog said with the smile. "I just can't shake this feeling... That they're still out there somewhere..." Shadow said, but the blue hedgehog laughed. "You destroyed their home, remember. There is no way that any of them survived that." The blue hedgehog spoke with a grin, but before anything else could be said Shadow fell onto his hands and knees, letting out a gasp. "No... No... That's... Impossible..." Shadow muttered, leaving the blue hedgehog clueless. "Shadow!? What's wrong?" The blue hedgehog asked, but Shadow stood up. "They're out there... On another planet... I can feel them... I only warped the Black Comet to another location..." Shadow said, he turned to face the blue hedgehog and said "Sonic. Get everyone together, and the Chaos Emeralds too. I'm going after them... To destroy those aliens once and for all..." Sonic nodded and ran off to gather all of those celebrating and the mystical jewels known as the Chaos Emeralds. Sonic returned with many other animals like him and Shadow, and a few humans as well. "Shadow. What's going on? Why did you need us here so quickly?" The G.U.N. Commander asked. "They're still out there... The Black Arms... I'm hunting them down and destroying them once and for all... I'll need all seven Chaos Emeralds to get there. Otherwise it could take months." Shadow replied, he took the seven jewels and they each began to glow brightly, they floated out of his hands and began to spin around him. "CHAOS... CONTROL!" Shadow shouted, and in a large flash of blue light he was gone, having taken the Chaos Emeralds with him. Leaving the humans and animals hoping that Shadow can destroy the Black Arms for good. Shadow the HedgehogTwilight had just received a letter from the Princesses, after they had returned she knew that she had to tell the Princesses about these hostile creatures. Twilight unfurled the scroll and began to read the letter aloud. "Dear Twilight, I am glad that you warned us of these creatures and provided a few sketches of them as well, if we see any of these monsters will we approach carefully and if necessary take one into custody for questioning. I hope that Fluttershy recovers, and we will send a team to investigate the comet soon. Yours truly, Princess Celestia." "Now that's fine and dandy, but what if those critters decide to attack Ponyville? Who knows how many more there are!" Applejack said, which was a good point. "Then they'll get a taste of me! I'll send them into next week!" Rainbow Dash shouted, with arrogance that none in Equestria could match. "Perhaps they were just defending their territory. We don't know that may have been simple animal instinct..." Fluttershy suggested, but the others weren't so sure. "If they were defending their territory, then wouldn't they have attacked us as well?" Rarity asked, which made perfect sense to Fluttershy. "For now, all we can do is wait for the investigation team... We'll go with them, and then maybe we can get to the bottom of this." Twilight said, but she noticed that it was strangely quiet, which prompted her to ask a question "Where's Pinkie?" In the middle of the Everfree, a bright blue flash filled broke through the gloom for a moment, before a black hedgehog stood where it had been, with seven jewels rapidly spinning above his head. Then much to the hedgehog's surprise one fell at his feet and the others shot off in all different directions. "Great... I'll have to track down the Chaos Emeralds now... At least one is still here..." He muttered bending over to pick up the green jewel. He looked around, and took note that he was in some form of forest, although exactly where he was uncertain. Shadow began to move forward and heard the rustling of bushes to his right. He looked as a doe stepped out and approached him. It showed not even the slightest amount of fear, which made him curious. "Strange... Normally deer don't approach other creatures like this... Why is it so brave?" Shadow asked himself. The deer turned before running off, stopping a few feet away. "You want me to follow you?" Shadow asked, but the deer said nothing and waited for the black hedgehog to follow. Shadow sighed before walking behind the animal and it began to increase speed. So Shadow did as well, his shoes eventually activated, allowing him to float over the ground, he stayed behind the deer and eventually was led to a large comet. Hearing voices Shadow knew it would most likely be best to hide, rather than face the dominant species of this planet. So he quickly jumped straight up and grabbed onto a tree branch, before swinging himself upwards, and leaping from branch to branch, until he was high enough to see clearly. Ten horse like creatures moved forward, and approached the comet, while four wore some kind of armor, the other six wore nothing. Shadow took note that four had horns, four had wings, and two had nothing, he also noticed they each had a marking along their flanks, just on the hip. One was a large collection of sparkles, with a large pink one in the middle, another was three red apples, three pink butterflies, three balloons, three crystals, and a cloud with a rainbow colored lightning bolt. Whatever they were, these creatures were definitely interesting. Shadow's eyes widened as he was on the opposite side of the comet, where about fifteen Black Arms soldiers, not their giants, not their winged creatures, the basic foot soldier. They each held a weapon and were preparing to attack the horses, which would end in a slaughter. Shadow had to wait until the right moment to strike and he held the green Chaos Emerald tightly in his right hand. The Black Arms began to move around the round comet and surprised the horses, and Shadow knew now was the time. Without a word Shadow disappeared in a flash of blue light, and reappeared before one of the Black Arms soldiers, startling both it and the horses. Shadow quickly kicked the side of its head, knocking it onto the ground. Shadow landed and looked at the other soldiers. Shadow smiled before shouting "Come and get me!" Twilight, Applejack, Rarity, Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy, Pinkie Pie, and the four guards were shocked to see the monsters approaching with strange weapons, meaning that they were sentient and not simply animals. Twilight let out a gasp as one rose the weapon and pointed it at her, so she closed her eyes and expected to feel pain, but instead she heard a loud grunt and a heavy groan of pain. She opened her eyes to see another strange creature with its back to her. It stood over the dead body of the monster, and held a green jewel in its hand. She could hear it shout something. "Come and get me!" The monsters rushed forward, many with large purple blades, and some with what Twilight assumed were ranged weapons. The newcomer disappeared in blue light a appeared behind one of the monsters before kicking it in the back. Twilight could hear bones snap, which sickened her. The monster dropped its blade and the creature grabbed it out of midair and with a spin, decapitated another monster, causing a green sludge to pour from the neck and head. Twilight heard Rarity gag, and felt her own breakfast attempting to rise up her throat. "IS that really all you've got? You were so much stronger back on Earth." The creature said, before stabbing the blade through one monster's chest, then pushing another one into the blade that stuck through the first's body. The light green sludge poured from their wounds. The creature quickly eliminated the eleven remaining monsters and turned to face them. Twilight felt her heart stop, the creature began to move towards them, filling them each with fear, even the royal guards who had never seen such acts of violence before. The creature stopped when its nose was a few inches from Twilight's own. "Are you all right?" The creature asked, but Twilight didn't respond, she was too scared to register what it had said, for she was afraid that it would attack her too. "Hello? Are you all right? You're not injured are you?" It asked again, this time Twilight was able to register it, she could tell the voice was male, and it sounded gentle and rough at the same time. Twilight slowly nodded and the creature smiled, its red eyes disturbed her and for a second she swore that she could see flames. "What did you do...?" Fluttershy asked, on the verge of tears, while these creatures had attacked her, she didn't want them to die. "I saved you. If I hadn't killed them, they would have killed you. That's how the Black Arms are. Knowing nothing but hate and destruction for anything that isn't one of them." The creature answered, but he walked over to one and pried a blade out of its dead hand. His shoes made a wet smacking sound every time he took a step, and the ponies were just now becoming aware of the green goo pooling around their hooves. "Who are you?! What are you!? How do you know what those things are!?" Rainbow Dash asked, now feeling angry, after all this thing could prove to be a real threat to all of Equestria. "I am Shadow the Hedgehog. I come from another planet to wipe out these alien creatures known as the Black Arms..." Shadow said, but if anything this only rose more questions. "You're a hedgehog?" Rarity asked, backing away from the green slime. She then had another question. "What is this strange goo?" "It's their blood." Shadow answered, and Twilight heard Rarity gag again, but this time it was followed by her vomiting. "You never answered my question! How do you know what they are!?" Rainbow Dash asked again. "They attacked Earth the planet I'm from. They sought to wipe out every form of life on the planet, and they will attempt to do the same with your planet as well." Shadow replied, but Rainbow Dash gasped. "I knew it! I called it! Evil aliens! I was right and you were wrong!" Rainbow Dash shouted, flying in front of Twilight's face. "We need to get away from here, they'll just keep sending more soldiers if we stay by the comet." Shadow said, before walking towards Ponyville, but the guards stopped him, pointing their weapons at his face. "We cannot allow a dangerous being such as you into our towns and cities! For all we know you may be one of them! Your coloration matches theirs. Why should we trust you?" One of the guards asked. Shadow however grabbed onto one of the spears, before he slammed the handle into the guards stomach, making him groan in pain. Shadow avoided attacks made by the other three guards and within a matter of seconds had them all lying on the ground in pain. "If I was one of them, I would have killed you, not the aliens." Shadow said, leaning down to the guard's ear. Shadow kicked the guard in the stomach and began to walk towards Ponyville once again, but this time with the Mane Six following. "Shadow! Wait!" Twilight shouted, and the hedgehog stopped. "We need to lay down some rules. Unless it is absolutely necessary do not attack anypony, you cannot bring that weapon into town, and you have to answer a few questions for us. Understood?" Twilight asked, and the hedgehog nodded before allowing himself to be led into town. Twilight just knew that this would be trouble. The PrincessesThe first thing Twilight was going to do was ask Shadow some questions, but first they needed to get to the library. This wouldn't be simple because for now Twilight wanted to keep Shadow hidden from the ponies in town. "Shadow can you do anything that will make you smaller in size?" Twilight asked, and Shadow quickly curled into a ball, this was just what Twilight needed. She lifted him with her magic and placed her into her saddle bag, and covered him up. They made their way into the library where Spike was waiting. "So what did you guys find out this time? Are they aliens?" Spike asked, and Twilight set the saddle bag on the ground and opened it, revealing a black orb. Spike was curious and asked "What's this? Is it some kind of alien artifact!?" The small dragon's eyes lit up with excitement, but Shadow uncurled and began to stretch out his arms. "You could have told me the plan first you know..." Shadow muttered, but soon noticed the small dragon staring at him. "You brought one home!? This is so cool! We have a pet alien!" Spike shouted, but Shadow glared at him. "I'm not a pet. I'm not an alien. I'm a hedgehog, and I'm here to save this planet from the aliens." Shadow said, not raising his voice, but with a certain sharpness that let Spike know he was angry. The baby dragon took a step back and looked at Twilight who was frowning. "Spike, this is Shadow. He's dealt with the aliens before... He's going to help us get them out of Equestria." Twilight began, but Shadow cut in. "I'm here to destroy the aliens. Make sure not a single one escapes alive." Shadow corrected, which made Spike nervous. "You mean that you're going to kill them?" Spike asked, and Shadow nodded. "He's already killed fifteen of them... How many more could there be?" Rarity asked, she looked at Shadow waiting for a reply. "Millions. They nearly toppled Earth's government. Tried to kill the President of the U.S.A." Shadow answered. "U.S.A.? We don't have a what yer talkin' 'bout. Yah need tah remember that." Applejack commented. "It stands for the United States of America. One of Earth's countries. It seemed they mainly focused on the U.S.A. Must have been because of the Eclipse Cannon..." Shadow answered, but this statement only raised more questions. "All right Shadow, are you ready to answer some questions?" Twilight asked and Shadow nodded. "First, do they have a name?" Twilight asked. "Yes, they're known as the Black Arms as I've stated before." Shadow replied. "The Black Arms... Do you know where they are from?" Twilight asked, but Shadow shook his head. "If they have a home planet, it is not known. They live in the comet that collided with your planet." Shadow answered, before he sighed and said "Look, how about I tell you all I know about the Black Arms and Earth, then I get to ask you some questions deal?" Twilight nodded and allowed Shadow to explain. The ponies were shocked, they had no idea Shadow had been through so much. Although he was technically one of the Black Arms, he acted so differently, and he seemed to have good intentions. Suddenly out of nowhere a loud hiss could be heard. "Shadow... Come in Shadow... Can you read me? Over." A voice filled the room, startling them all. However Shadow seemed to recognize the voice. "Sonic!? Is that you!?" Shadow asked, he looked around but didn't see the blue hedgehog anywhere in sight. "I said can you read me? Over." The voice said, which seemed to irritate Shadow. "I read you... Over..." Shadow said through gritted teeth. "Good! So you take of Doom and his army of freaks? Over." Sonic asked, but Shadow sighed. "No, I haven't. How are you even talking to me?" Shadow asked, but didn't get a response. "Sonic? Can you hear me?" There was silence... "...Over..." Shadow muttered. "I slipped a communication device onto you. Check your quills. Over." Sonic said. Shadow began to dig around in his quills and eventually pulled a bracelet like device. "I've found it. Now what do you want? Over." Shadow asked, clearly annoyed. "We need you to hurry up so we can officially celebrate! You'll have not only saved Earth, but another planet as well! Over." Sonic shouted, but Shadow shut off the device and let out a sigh. "Shadow that was Sonic? One of the heroes of Earth?" Twilight asked, and Shadow nodded. "That sounded like something that Pinkie Pie would do..." Rainbow Dash said. "You're right! It does sound like something I would do!" Pinkie shouted, but Shadow shook his head. "I don't even know your names, how about we take care of that before I ask my questions." Shadow suggested, which seemed like a good idea. "I am Twilight Sparkle, Element of Magic and student to Princess Celestia." "The name's Applejack. Me an' mah family run Sweet Apple Acres, and ahm the Element of Honesty." "My name is Rarity, I run Ponyville's boutique and am the Element of Generosity." "Hi I'm Pinkamena Diane Pie! I work at Sugar Cube Corner, and I'm the Element of Laughter, and I love to throw parties, I need to throw you a party as well, so we really need to get to work on it soon!" "Um... My name is Fluttershy.... I... I take care of animals... I'm also the Element... of Kindness..." "I'm known as Rainbow Dash, the Element of Loyalty and the fastest thing alive!" Shadow began to chuckle at Rainbow Dash's remark, which confused the ponies. "That's cute. Sonic the Hedgehog and I are tied for being the fastest things alive. We've raced several times against each other, and we tied every single time. Sonic is capable of moving at the speed of sound." Shadow said, but before the fight could escalate, Twilight broke it up. "That's enough! Shadow, you're here to help us, not to fight us. So please control yourself. Rainbow Dash, we need to remain focused on the Black Arms, but Shadow has some questions to ask us first." Twilight looked at the hedgehog who glared at Rainbow Dash. "First of all. How are you able to move things without the use of hands or your hooves?" Shadow asked. "We use magic, which can be influence for a range of things." Twilight answered. "What about the ones without horns?" Shadow asked. "They do use their hooves." Twilight answered. "What are those markings on your hips?" Shadow asked. "They're called Cutie Marks. They show a ponies special talent." Twilight replied. "You mentioned something about a Princess?" Shadow asked. "Yes. Princess Celestia and her sister Princess Luna rule over Equestria. While the Crystal Kingdom is ruled by Princess Cadence, my sister in law." Twilight answered. "Last one. Would I be able to speak with these Princesses?" Shadow asked. The MeetingDear Princess Celestia, I have some good and troubling news. We were attacked by the alien creatures which we know now are called the Black Arms due to an informant, the Black Arms had blades and strange weapons that are far more advanced than anything we could create. The informant that I mentioned comes from another planet, a planet also attacked by the Black Arms, and with the help of his friends he managed to drive them off of the planet. He wished to meet with you, but I must request that you come to us if possible. I fear how ponies will react to him, so when you have a free moment, please come to meet him. Your faithful student, Twilight Sparkle Princess Celestia read the letter several times, she was in disbelief. There was obviously something that Twilight was not telling her, but she knew better than to pry at this, so she knew that there was only one thing she can do. "Luna. I've just received a letter from Twilight. We will be heading to Ponyville, they have more information on the alien beings." Celestia said to her sister, and Luna nodded in response. The two left the throne room to prepare for their trip to Ponyville, but first Celestia would have to write back. Dear Twilight, We are thankful that you are not harmed, but be prepared to answer some questions for us. We will be there soon, but in the meantime keep your informant indoors and out of anypony's sight. Yours Truly, Princess Celestia. Twilight read the letter from Princess Celestia and began to panic. The library was mess due to Spike trying to grab a cookbook which caused hundreds of books to fall of their shelves. "We need to get this place cleaned up! Hurry Spike, start putting these books back!" Twilight shouted, as she began to throw books back onto the shelves, but they nearly hit everyone as they flew across the room. Perhaps the only calm one was Shadow who was reading a book on common beasts that could be found in the Everfree. "Manticore... Chimera... Cockatrice... Dragons... Are you serious? These are real creatures?" Shadow asked, but Twilight had finished placing the books on the shelves and looked at him confused. "Don't you have them back on Earth?" Twilight asked, but Shadow shook his head. "On Earth most of these are beasts of myths and fairy tails. Monsters reportedly seen during ancient times... None of them actually roam the planet." Shadow replied, which shocked them. However a knock on the door, snapped their attention to it. Twilight walked over and nervously opened the door to see the Princesses, who were quickly allowed inside. The ponies bowed, but Shadow remained sitting. "You may rise. Twilight, I take it this is your informant?" Celestia asked. "Yes. Princess Celestia and Princess Luna, I would like you to meet Shadow the Hedgehog. He's dealt with the Black Arms before. He may be our only hope of getting them off our planet." Twilight said, motioning towards the hedgehog. "Greetings Shadow. I am Princess Celestia, it is my job to raise and lower the sun, as well as protect Equestria from evil." Princess Celestia said with a smile. "Greetings. I am Princess Luna. I raise and lower the moon. I also help to protect Equestria from evil." Princess Luna said. "It's nice to meet you both. As said I am Shadow the Hedgehog... The Ultimate Life Form." Shadow introduced himself, but this confused all the ponies. "Ultimate Life Form? I am afraid we do not understand." Celestia said with a frown. "It's simple. There is nothing stronger than I am. If I so pleased I could destroy this entire planet... However I will not, for you have given me no reason to do so. We need to focus on the Black Arms. They will not stop until this planet is destroyed. We must plan for their attacks." Shadow explained, but the Princesses were now nervous. "What do you presume we do?" Celestia asked, and Shadow smiled. "Get as many ponies as you can, arm them, and send them to all your towns and cities, protect your subjects. Gather the remaining soldiers and send them to attack the bases they create and steal. Tell them to kill." Shadow instructed, that statement shocked the Princesses. "You suggest that we kill them?! Can we not negotiate?" Luna asked, but she already knew the answer to that. "You cannot negotiate with the Black Arms, they will try to kill you. They have weapons, they have soldiers, and they aren't afraid to use them. You may not believe in killing, but you'd best start to, it's your only way to get rid of them." Shadow said, now irritated, but before he could continue a loud beeping came from the communication device. It activated and they heard a different voice. "Shadow? Are you there? Can you read me? If you can please respond." Shadow's eyes widened at the voice and he pressed a button on the device. "Yes Commander! I read you!" Shadow replied. "Good. Shadow, have you tracked the Black Comet?" The Commander asked. "Yes, sir. I'm speaking with two of the planet's leaders. We're planning on how to eliminate the Black Arms..." Shadow said. "Good. Make sure you wipe out every last one of those creatures. It's your duty to Earth, the planet you're on, and perhaps the entire universe. Good luck." The Commander said, before the device deactivated. "Shadow, who was that?" Twilight asked. "The G.U.N. Commander. He's a military leader on Earth, but enough about that. We need to return to the Black Arms." Shadow said, but screams from outside got their attention. They rushed out of the library to see a large red cloud had formed above Ponyville. It began to drop several Black Arms soldiers, from the lowest of the low to their massive giants, and their bird like creatures. "What is that!?" Twilight asked, but Shadow ran forward before hovering towards them. Ready to fight off whatever comes his way. Black DoomShadow jumped into the air and grabbed onto the tail of a Black Hawk, even with the added weight from the hedgehog it still remained in flight, however it now began to swerve in an attempt to get the hedgehog off its back. Shadow managed to keep his grip and climbed onto the bird like monster's back, before grabbing the two horns on its head. Shadow noticed the building that they were heading straight for and began to pull back on the Black Hawk's horns. "Go up! Go up!" Shadow shouted, as the Black Hawk began to fly straight upwards. Even though it had begun to fly upwards it still made contact with the building, shaking the two. The ponies of this town watched in disbelief, many unsure if this thing was friend or foe. "Is he insane!?" Twilight asked and watched as Shadow continued to rise upwards, before reaching and pulling one of the wings against the creature's body. It let out shrieks and screeches as it began to plummet towards the ground, and at the last second Shadow leapt off, and the Black Hawk slammed onto the planet's surface and a loud splat was heard. Shadow landed on his feet and turned back to face the puddle of green goo that was once the Black Hawk. Shadow leapt from building to building attacking any and all Black Arms forces that he encountered. They really had little chance of beating him. "Come on! Why are you all weak suddenly?" Shadow asked, hoping that this would at least be fun. However he felt a massive fist make contact with his back, slamming him away. Shadow got onto his feet and faced the giant. He held up the jewel, but he began to pulse with a red aura. "What the...?" Twilight began but was cut off when Shadow shouted something, with the entire attack group huddled around him. "CHAOS BLAST!" A red explosion to began to force its way past the Black Arms killing them instantly, however it didn't stop there, many of the buildings around Shadow were being destroyed as well. Many of the buildings where ponies had taken shelter from the attack and were now fearful of being killed in this massive explosion that threatened them. However it stopped, leaving Shadow standing in the middle of a scorched circle of grass, with bricks and wood falling to the ground around him. "Are you mad?! Does thou know how many of our subjects thou hast put in danger?!" Luna asked, furious at the hedgehog. "Would you rather I stood around and let them slaughter your subjects?" Shadow asked, which made the princess cringe. "You are a danger to Equestria!" Luna shouted. "I'm the only hope Equestria has!" Shadow yelled back, but a laughing was soon made aware. "Yes. Destroy each other... You'll only make our job easier." A large creature floated above them all. On each side if its head was a horn, it wore tattered robes with several different charms hanging around its neck, its thee fingered hands ended in small, but sharp claws. Finally its eyes were what was most unsettling. It had three eyes forming a triangle, but only the top one had a slit pupil. "You..." Shadow muttered, tightening his grip on the Chaos Emerald. "You little traitor! Why would you fight back against me? ME that had given you life! ME that had attempted to help you along your destiny! ME that allowed you to relive your moments with Maria!" The alien said, curling its fingers into fists. "You may have given me life, but you tried to make me into a monster like you! You may have let me see Maria again, but you made me relive her death! You are nothing but an evil that needs to be wiped out!" Shadow shouted, jumping at the alien, but it began to float to the side and disappeared. "I will break you... Then you'll join me... You'll see..." It said, while it spoke it began to sound further and further away. "All right Shadow. You got some splaining to do." Rainbow Dash said, pointing a hoof at him. "That was Black Doom, the alien that gave his DNA to help create me. He's the leader of the Black Arms..." Shadow answered, which made them all go silent. Shadow turned and began to walk back into the library while Spike poked his head out the door. "Is the alien war over?" he asked, but they shook their heads. "Ok." he slowly moved back inside, which made Shadow sigh. "Why do I feel like I'm the only sane one here?" Shadow asked himself. When he was given strange looks he shouted "Being extremely violent doesn't make someone insane. Have you just forgotten the fact that I saved all of you? This town would have been all dead, ever single pony here would have been slaughtered had I not stepped in!" Shadow shouted, which made Luna angry once again. "You nearly killed several of our subjects with your energy blast! We know that you are dangerous and must be locked away before you destroy or kill an innocent!" Luna yelled, but Shadow had heard enough. He slammed his elbow into her stomach and when she fell he kicked her in the jaw. Everypony else was too shocked to move, to shocked to act. Shadow lifted Luna's head up, she now was bleeding from her mouth and her right eye was swollen shut. "Shut... Up..." Shadow said before kicking her throat and walking away. "He's not insane?" Was all that Rarity said, breaking the silence.
Black CometIt was done… On the planet known as Earth, their war with the stars was over… Black Doom, the leader of an evil and destructive alien race known as the Black Arms has fallen, the Black Comet has been destroyed… Or so the people of Earth thought… In truth it had only been moved, warped away. It floated through space, while the Black Arms had recovered their leader. Black Doom lives, though he is injured, he will live. The Black Comet moved at a slow pace, where they would land… It was unknown. However the Black Arms knew that wherever the Black Comet went, they would spread death and destruction… It was a beautiful night, in Equestria, many ponies gathered outside of their homes with food, and blankets, having a late night picnic while they waited for a meteor shower to start. However the small town of Ponyville, had perhaps the most excited pony there. Twilight Sparkle was setting up a blanket for her friends and herself. After all, she loved to gaze at the work of the Princesses, the beautiful stars, the bright days. She finished setting up the blanket and placed a basket full of snacks and food down on top of it. She lifted up a scroll and a quill then checked another thing off her list. All she had left to do was set up her telescope. “Just a few more minutes until they should get here.” She said to herself, while she adjusted the telescope to look up at the meteors and comets that would pass by. She finished and began to wait for her friends, who would be arriving soon. One by one her friends came over and began to sit around the blanket. The simple apple farmer, Applejack. The fashionable, Rarity. The shy and gentle, Fluttershy. The fast and adventurous, Rainbow Dash. The crazy party pony, Pinkie Pie. Finally there was her, the smart and curious, Twilight Sparkle. However one more would join them, Twilight’s assistant, Spike. The baby dragon had been helping her for years now, and he was one of her best friends. The meteors began to fall, leaving golden, blue, and white trails as they soared across the sky. They each took turns peeking through the telescope, looking at the beautiful comets. However Spike found something interesting. “Um… Guys…? There’s this weird comet… It’s kind of ugly looking…” He muttered, but Twilight thought he was just being rude. “Spike, it can’t be…” She had begun, but when she looked at the comet, she felt the same way. It was very ugly with long spikes, and several craters, the disgusting purple trail it left was nauseating. Twilight wasn’t sure what to make of this comet. “Let me see!” Rainbow Dash shouted, pushing Twilight out of the way. “I want to see too!” Pinkie shoved her way to look. “What is it like?” Rarity asked, squeezing in to get a peek. “Is it scary?” Fluttershy wondered, waiting her turn to see. “That is one ugly comet…” Applejack muttered, looking at the comet. However, they all noticed that it was getting more and more difficult to see the comet through the telescope, and when they looked upwards towards the sky, they could see why. The comet was approaching the planet, it was huge! Larger than the library, larger than all of Ponyville! It had begun to pick up speed as it came closer and closer to them, but it narrowly missed the small town and crashed deep into the Everfree forest. "That thing almost took our heads off!" Rainbow Dash shouted, but she knew that it was dangerous to go into the Everfree forest, especially at night. She knew that they would have to investigate, but it should be done during the day, and she also knew that Twilight would need to write a letter to the Princess. "Spike, take a letter..." Twilight instructed and the small dragon took out a scroll and quill then began to write. "Dear Princess Celestia, During Princess Luna's meteor shower, a mysterious and disturbing object crashed nearby in the Everfree forest, while we do not know if it is dangerous or not, we will wait until morning to investigate. Your faithful student, Twilight Sparkle." Spike rolled up the letter and blew his green fire on it, causing the scroll to disappear, where it would then be delivered to Princess Celestia, who might be able to shed some light on this mysterious object. Until then however they could only let their imaginations flow and think about what the object may or may not be. While they each had their own theories, they would never be sure. "It's a bunch of aliens! They've come to invade and try to kill us all!" Rainbow Dash shouted, which frightened Rarity and Fluttershy, but Applejack and Twilight weren't so sure. "It ain't no aliens. It's just a comet. Ain't nothing dangerous about it." Applejack argued, but Pinkie Pie had her own idea. "OH! WHAT IF IT'S A GROUP OF INTERGALACTIC PARTY PLANNERS AND WE'RE THEY'RE ONE HUNDREDTH PLANET AND WE GET A FREE GALACTIC SIZED PARTY!" Pinkie shouted, although the others knew that wasn't the case, they said nothing to ruin her happiness. "What if Rainbow Dash is right? What if it is evil aliens...? What would we do...?" Fluttershy asked, clearly scared to death by rainbow Dash's assumption. "Don't worry darling. I'm sure nothing will try to hurt us. After all, what would we have done to deserve it?" Rarity said attempting to comfort Fluttershy, However if it had an effect it was not seen. The Black Comet sat in the middle of the Everfree forest, it holding the numberless soldiers of the Black Arms inside, who were eager to conquer this world, but until their leader was fully healed, they could not act. They would have to patient, while Black Doom rested. They knew nothing about this place or its inhabitants, but what they knew was they could conquer it as long as HE doesn't get involved. Should HE get involved then the Black Arms stand little to no chance of conquering this world. They could only hope and wait...
Strange CreaturesThe Mane Six stood outside the Everfree forest, knowing that once they entered, they may not return, but to find out what this mysterious object is would be their main objective. So they began their trek through the forest, strangely not seeing anything dangerous. No signs of any Timber Wolves, no Manticores in sight, and not a single Cockatrice to be seen. While this was good, it also could mean that whatever this thing was, it could be dangerous. However they found the object and confirmed it to be a meteor. It was a dark reddish brown, this particular shade of color disgusted Rarity, but she knew that they needed to examine it fully. "So what are we looking for?" Rainbow Dash asked, but she got no response, for something else had gotten the others attention. A creature stood across from them, it had black and red skin, with large yellow eyes. It walked on two legs and had what appeared to be hands. It stared at them, but beyond that it did nothing else. "What is that... Monster?" Rarity asked, but it quickly turned and began to run towards the comet, before disappearing around it. However when the ponies followed, they found it nowhere to be seen. Whatever this monster was, it was more afraid of them, then they were of it... "See! Aliens! I called it!" Rainbow Dash shouted. "We don't know that, it may simply be a curious creature never seen before. It was most likely investigating the comet like we are." Twilight argued, but Rainbow Dash rolled her eyes. It was true that the creature did seem alien like, but there was no proof that it was. So they simply needed to investigate further, and hope that something will come up. Fluttershy moved around the object a few times before letting out a squeak of fear. There were five of the creatures now, and they each looked at her with their big yellow eyes. "Hello... Who are you? What are you?" Fluttershy asked, she took a small step forward and the creatures let out growls and grunts that sounded angered. "Did I do something to upset you?" Fluttershy asked, but the creatures began to run at her, and she felt them begin to slam their fists on her as hard as they could. Fluttershy let out cries and screams of pain, which got the attention of her friends. They rushed over and the creatures noticed them, and stopped their attack. They ran off, turning around the side of the meteor and didn't return. "Fluttershy! What happened!?" Twilight asked, but Fluttershy was lying on the ground, covering her face with her forelegs, and she could be heard sobbing. Rainbow Dash then knew that these things were dangerous, and so did everypony else. Twilight was fearful however, fearful of what would happen to them if they remained here any longer. "We need to get back to Ponyville! Quickly!" Twilight shouted, before she helped Fluttershy onto her hooves. The six began to run from the comet, unaware that they were being watched. The Black Arms with their advanced and strange alien technology had seen everything, and they now knew what this planet's dominant species was, at least one of them. The Black Arms let out sounds of joy and rage, knowing that their leader would soon be healed, and they could soon launch an attack. Twilight used her magic to place an icepack on Fluttershy's head, for it was swelling from the monsters' attack. While she was glad her friend was not seriously injured, those monsters now made her nervous. Maybe Rainbow Dash was right... Twilight shook her head, that was utterly ridiculous. Evil aliens... Yeah right... On a planet far away from the ponies and the Black Arms a celebration was happening. A pitch black hedgehog with red marking along his ears and quills, and a white tuft of fur looked up at the night sky. His red eyes scanning for any sign of the Black Arms still being out there. Their leader's words rang through his mind over and over again. "Just you wait Shadow... The Black Arms WILL rise again... And you'll pay for your treachery." The black hedgehog was interrupted from his thoughts by a hand grabbing his shoulder. He turned to face a creature like him, a hedgehog, only this one was blue with emerald green eyes, bare arms, and a peach colored belly. "What are you doing over here Shadow? We're having a party in your name. You saved the world, maybe even the universe from Black Doom and his army." The blue hedgehog said with the smile. "I just can't shake this feeling... That they're still out there somewhere..." Shadow said, but the blue hedgehog laughed. "You destroyed their home, remember. There is no way that any of them survived that." The blue hedgehog spoke with a grin, but before anything else could be said Shadow fell onto his hands and knees, letting out a gasp. "No... No... That's... Impossible..." Shadow muttered, leaving the blue hedgehog clueless. "Shadow!? What's wrong?" The blue hedgehog asked, but Shadow stood up. "They're out there... On another planet... I can feel them... I only warped the Black Comet to another location..." Shadow said, he turned to face the blue hedgehog and said "Sonic. Get everyone together, and the Chaos Emeralds too. I'm going after them... To destroy those aliens once and for all..." Sonic nodded and ran off to gather all of those celebrating and the mystical jewels known as the Chaos Emeralds. Sonic returned with many other animals like him and Shadow, and a few humans as well. "Shadow. What's going on? Why did you need us here so quickly?" The G.U.N. Commander asked. "They're still out there... The Black Arms... I'm hunting them down and destroying them once and for all... I'll need all seven Chaos Emeralds to get there. Otherwise it could take months." Shadow replied, he took the seven jewels and they each began to glow brightly, they floated out of his hands and began to spin around him. "CHAOS... CONTROL!" Shadow shouted, and in a large flash of blue light he was gone, having taken the Chaos Emeralds with him. Leaving the humans and animals hoping that Shadow can destroy the Black Arms for good.
Shadow the HedgehogTwilight had just received a letter from the Princesses, after they had returned she knew that she had to tell the Princesses about these hostile creatures. Twilight unfurled the scroll and began to read the letter aloud. "Dear Twilight, I am glad that you warned us of these creatures and provided a few sketches of them as well, if we see any of these monsters will we approach carefully and if necessary take one into custody for questioning. I hope that Fluttershy recovers, and we will send a team to investigate the comet soon. Yours truly, Princess Celestia." "Now that's fine and dandy, but what if those critters decide to attack Ponyville? Who knows how many more there are!" Applejack said, which was a good point. "Then they'll get a taste of me! I'll send them into next week!" Rainbow Dash shouted, with arrogance that none in Equestria could match. "Perhaps they were just defending their territory. We don't know that may have been simple animal instinct..." Fluttershy suggested, but the others weren't so sure. "If they were defending their territory, then wouldn't they have attacked us as well?" Rarity asked, which made perfect sense to Fluttershy. "For now, all we can do is wait for the investigation team... We'll go with them, and then maybe we can get to the bottom of this." Twilight said, but she noticed that it was strangely quiet, which prompted her to ask a question "Where's Pinkie?" In the middle of the Everfree, a bright blue flash filled broke through the gloom for a moment, before a black hedgehog stood where it had been, with seven jewels rapidly spinning above his head. Then much to the hedgehog's surprise one fell at his feet and the others shot off in all different directions. "Great... I'll have to track down the Chaos Emeralds now... At least one is still here..." He muttered bending over to pick up the green jewel. He looked around, and took note that he was in some form of forest, although exactly where he was uncertain. Shadow began to move forward and heard the rustling of bushes to his right. He looked as a doe stepped out and approached him. It showed not even the slightest amount of fear, which made him curious. "Strange... Normally deer don't approach other creatures like this... Why is it so brave?" Shadow asked himself. The deer turned before running off, stopping a few feet away. "You want me to follow you?" Shadow asked, but the deer said nothing and waited for the black hedgehog to follow. Shadow sighed before walking behind the animal and it began to increase speed. So Shadow did as well, his shoes eventually activated, allowing him to float over the ground, he stayed behind the deer and eventually was led to a large comet. Hearing voices Shadow knew it would most likely be best to hide, rather than face the dominant species of this planet. So he quickly jumped straight up and grabbed onto a tree branch, before swinging himself upwards, and leaping from branch to branch, until he was high enough to see clearly. Ten horse like creatures moved forward, and approached the comet, while four wore some kind of armor, the other six wore nothing. Shadow took note that four had horns, four had wings, and two had nothing, he also noticed they each had a marking along their flanks, just on the hip. One was a large collection of sparkles, with a large pink one in the middle, another was three red apples, three pink butterflies, three balloons, three crystals, and a cloud with a rainbow colored lightning bolt. Whatever they were, these creatures were definitely interesting. Shadow's eyes widened as he was on the opposite side of the comet, where about fifteen Black Arms soldiers, not their giants, not their winged creatures, the basic foot soldier. They each held a weapon and were preparing to attack the horses, which would end in a slaughter. Shadow had to wait until the right moment to strike and he held the green Chaos Emerald tightly in his right hand. The Black Arms began to move around the round comet and surprised the horses, and Shadow knew now was the time. Without a word Shadow disappeared in a flash of blue light, and reappeared before one of the Black Arms soldiers, startling both it and the horses. Shadow quickly kicked the side of its head, knocking it onto the ground. Shadow landed and looked at the other soldiers. Shadow smiled before shouting "Come and get me!" Twilight, Applejack, Rarity, Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy, Pinkie Pie, and the four guards were shocked to see the monsters approaching with strange weapons, meaning that they were sentient and not simply animals. Twilight let out a gasp as one rose the weapon and pointed it at her, so she closed her eyes and expected to feel pain, but instead she heard a loud grunt and a heavy groan of pain. She opened her eyes to see another strange creature with its back to her. It stood over the dead body of the monster, and held a green jewel in its hand. She could hear it shout something. "Come and get me!" The monsters rushed forward, many with large purple blades, and some with what Twilight assumed were ranged weapons. The newcomer disappeared in blue light a appeared behind one of the monsters before kicking it in the back. Twilight could hear bones snap, which sickened her. The monster dropped its blade and the creature grabbed it out of midair and with a spin, decapitated another monster, causing a green sludge to pour from the neck and head. Twilight heard Rarity gag, and felt her own breakfast attempting to rise up her throat. "IS that really all you've got? You were so much stronger back on Earth." The creature said, before stabbing the blade through one monster's chest, then pushing another one into the blade that stuck through the first's body. The light green sludge poured from their wounds. The creature quickly eliminated the eleven remaining monsters and turned to face them. Twilight felt her heart stop, the creature began to move towards them, filling them each with fear, even the royal guards who had never seen such acts of violence before. The creature stopped when its nose was a few inches from Twilight's own. "Are you all right?" The creature asked, but Twilight didn't respond, she was too scared to register what it had said, for she was afraid that it would attack her too. "Hello? Are you all right? You're not injured are you?" It asked again, this time Twilight was able to register it, she could tell the voice was male, and it sounded gentle and rough at the same time. Twilight slowly nodded and the creature smiled, its red eyes disturbed her and for a second she swore that she could see flames. "What did you do...?" Fluttershy asked, on the verge of tears, while these creatures had attacked her, she didn't want them to die. "I saved you. If I hadn't killed them, they would have killed you. That's how the Black Arms are. Knowing nothing but hate and destruction for anything that isn't one of them." The creature answered, but he walked over to one and pried a blade out of its dead hand. His shoes made a wet smacking sound every time he took a step, and the ponies were just now becoming aware of the green goo pooling around their hooves. "Who are you?! What are you!? How do you know what those things are!?" Rainbow Dash asked, now feeling angry, after all this thing could prove to be a real threat to all of Equestria. "I am Shadow the Hedgehog. I come from another planet to wipe out these alien creatures known as the Black Arms..." Shadow said, but if anything this only rose more questions. "You're a hedgehog?" Rarity asked, backing away from the green slime. She then had another question. "What is this strange goo?" "It's their blood." Shadow answered, and Twilight heard Rarity gag again, but this time it was followed by her vomiting. "You never answered my question! How do you know what they are!?" Rainbow Dash asked again. "They attacked Earth the planet I'm from. They sought to wipe out every form of life on the planet, and they will attempt to do the same with your planet as well." Shadow replied, but Rainbow Dash gasped. "I knew it! I called it! Evil aliens! I was right and you were wrong!" Rainbow Dash shouted, flying in front of Twilight's face. "We need to get away from here, they'll just keep sending more soldiers if we stay by the comet." Shadow said, before walking towards Ponyville, but the guards stopped him, pointing their weapons at his face. "We cannot allow a dangerous being such as you into our towns and cities! For all we know you may be one of them! Your coloration matches theirs. Why should we trust you?" One of the guards asked. Shadow however grabbed onto one of the spears, before he slammed the handle into the guards stomach, making him groan in pain. Shadow avoided attacks made by the other three guards and within a matter of seconds had them all lying on the ground in pain. "If I was one of them, I would have killed you, not the aliens." Shadow said, leaning down to the guard's ear. Shadow kicked the guard in the stomach and began to walk towards Ponyville once again, but this time with the Mane Six following. "Shadow! Wait!" Twilight shouted, and the hedgehog stopped. "We need to lay down some rules. Unless it is absolutely necessary do not attack anypony, you cannot bring that weapon into town, and you have to answer a few questions for us. Understood?" Twilight asked, and the hedgehog nodded before allowing himself to be led into town. Twilight just knew that this would be trouble.
The PrincessesThe first thing Twilight was going to do was ask Shadow some questions, but first they needed to get to the library. This wouldn't be simple because for now Twilight wanted to keep Shadow hidden from the ponies in town. "Shadow can you do anything that will make you smaller in size?" Twilight asked, and Shadow quickly curled into a ball, this was just what Twilight needed. She lifted him with her magic and placed her into her saddle bag, and covered him up. They made their way into the library where Spike was waiting. "So what did you guys find out this time? Are they aliens?" Spike asked, and Twilight set the saddle bag on the ground and opened it, revealing a black orb. Spike was curious and asked "What's this? Is it some kind of alien artifact!?" The small dragon's eyes lit up with excitement, but Shadow uncurled and began to stretch out his arms. "You could have told me the plan first you know..." Shadow muttered, but soon noticed the small dragon staring at him. "You brought one home!? This is so cool! We have a pet alien!" Spike shouted, but Shadow glared at him. "I'm not a pet. I'm not an alien. I'm a hedgehog, and I'm here to save this planet from the aliens." Shadow said, not raising his voice, but with a certain sharpness that let Spike know he was angry. The baby dragon took a step back and looked at Twilight who was frowning. "Spike, this is Shadow. He's dealt with the aliens before... He's going to help us get them out of Equestria." Twilight began, but Shadow cut in. "I'm here to destroy the aliens. Make sure not a single one escapes alive." Shadow corrected, which made Spike nervous. "You mean that you're going to kill them?" Spike asked, and Shadow nodded. "He's already killed fifteen of them... How many more could there be?" Rarity asked, she looked at Shadow waiting for a reply. "Millions. They nearly toppled Earth's government. Tried to kill the President of the U.S.A." Shadow answered. "U.S.A.? We don't have a what yer talkin' 'bout. Yah need tah remember that." Applejack commented. "It stands for the United States of America. One of Earth's countries. It seemed they mainly focused on the U.S.A. Must have been because of the Eclipse Cannon..." Shadow answered, but this statement only raised more questions. "All right Shadow, are you ready to answer some questions?" Twilight asked and Shadow nodded. "First, do they have a name?" Twilight asked. "Yes, they're known as the Black Arms as I've stated before." Shadow replied. "The Black Arms... Do you know where they are from?" Twilight asked, but Shadow shook his head. "If they have a home planet, it is not known. They live in the comet that collided with your planet." Shadow answered, before he sighed and said "Look, how about I tell you all I know about the Black Arms and Earth, then I get to ask you some questions deal?" Twilight nodded and allowed Shadow to explain. The ponies were shocked, they had no idea Shadow had been through so much. Although he was technically one of the Black Arms, he acted so differently, and he seemed to have good intentions. Suddenly out of nowhere a loud hiss could be heard. "Shadow... Come in Shadow... Can you read me? Over." A voice filled the room, startling them all. However Shadow seemed to recognize the voice. "Sonic!? Is that you!?" Shadow asked, he looked around but didn't see the blue hedgehog anywhere in sight. "I said can you read me? Over." The voice said, which seemed to irritate Shadow. "I read you... Over..." Shadow said through gritted teeth. "Good! So you take of Doom and his army of freaks? Over." Sonic asked, but Shadow sighed. "No, I haven't. How are you even talking to me?" Shadow asked, but didn't get a response. "Sonic? Can you hear me?" There was silence... "...Over..." Shadow muttered. "I slipped a communication device onto you. Check your quills. Over." Sonic said. Shadow began to dig around in his quills and eventually pulled a bracelet like device. "I've found it. Now what do you want? Over." Shadow asked, clearly annoyed. "We need you to hurry up so we can officially celebrate! You'll have not only saved Earth, but another planet as well! Over." Sonic shouted, but Shadow shut off the device and let out a sigh. "Shadow that was Sonic? One of the heroes of Earth?" Twilight asked, and Shadow nodded. "That sounded like something that Pinkie Pie would do..." Rainbow Dash said. "You're right! It does sound like something I would do!" Pinkie shouted, but Shadow shook his head. "I don't even know your names, how about we take care of that before I ask my questions." Shadow suggested, which seemed like a good idea. "I am Twilight Sparkle, Element of Magic and student to Princess Celestia." "The name's Applejack. Me an' mah family run Sweet Apple Acres, and ahm the Element of Honesty." "My name is Rarity, I run Ponyville's boutique and am the Element of Generosity." "Hi I'm Pinkamena Diane Pie! I work at Sugar Cube Corner, and I'm the Element of Laughter, and I love to throw parties, I need to throw you a party as well, so we really need to get to work on it soon!" "Um... My name is Fluttershy.... I... I take care of animals... I'm also the Element... of Kindness..." "I'm known as Rainbow Dash, the Element of Loyalty and the fastest thing alive!" Shadow began to chuckle at Rainbow Dash's remark, which confused the ponies. "That's cute. Sonic the Hedgehog and I are tied for being the fastest things alive. We've raced several times against each other, and we tied every single time. Sonic is capable of moving at the speed of sound." Shadow said, but before the fight could escalate, Twilight broke it up. "That's enough! Shadow, you're here to help us, not to fight us. So please control yourself. Rainbow Dash, we need to remain focused on the Black Arms, but Shadow has some questions to ask us first." Twilight looked at the hedgehog who glared at Rainbow Dash. "First of all. How are you able to move things without the use of hands or your hooves?" Shadow asked. "We use magic, which can be influence for a range of things." Twilight answered. "What about the ones without horns?" Shadow asked. "They do use their hooves." Twilight answered. "What are those markings on your hips?" Shadow asked. "They're called Cutie Marks. They show a ponies special talent." Twilight replied. "You mentioned something about a Princess?" Shadow asked. "Yes. Princess Celestia and her sister Princess Luna rule over Equestria. While the Crystal Kingdom is ruled by Princess Cadence, my sister in law." Twilight answered. "Last one. Would I be able to speak with these Princesses?" Shadow asked.
The MeetingDear Princess Celestia, I have some good and troubling news. We were attacked by the alien creatures which we know now are called the Black Arms due to an informant, the Black Arms had blades and strange weapons that are far more advanced than anything we could create. The informant that I mentioned comes from another planet, a planet also attacked by the Black Arms, and with the help of his friends he managed to drive them off of the planet. He wished to meet with you, but I must request that you come to us if possible. I fear how ponies will react to him, so when you have a free moment, please come to meet him. Your faithful student, Twilight Sparkle Princess Celestia read the letter several times, she was in disbelief. There was obviously something that Twilight was not telling her, but she knew better than to pry at this, so she knew that there was only one thing she can do. "Luna. I've just received a letter from Twilight. We will be heading to Ponyville, they have more information on the alien beings." Celestia said to her sister, and Luna nodded in response. The two left the throne room to prepare for their trip to Ponyville, but first Celestia would have to write back. Dear Twilight, We are thankful that you are not harmed, but be prepared to answer some questions for us. We will be there soon, but in the meantime keep your informant indoors and out of anypony's sight. Yours Truly, Princess Celestia. Twilight read the letter from Princess Celestia and began to panic. The library was mess due to Spike trying to grab a cookbook which caused hundreds of books to fall of their shelves. "We need to get this place cleaned up! Hurry Spike, start putting these books back!" Twilight shouted, as she began to throw books back onto the shelves, but they nearly hit everyone as they flew across the room. Perhaps the only calm one was Shadow who was reading a book on common beasts that could be found in the Everfree. "Manticore... Chimera... Cockatrice... Dragons... Are you serious? These are real creatures?" Shadow asked, but Twilight had finished placing the books on the shelves and looked at him confused. "Don't you have them back on Earth?" Twilight asked, but Shadow shook his head. "On Earth most of these are beasts of myths and fairy tails. Monsters reportedly seen during ancient times... None of them actually roam the planet." Shadow replied, which shocked them. However a knock on the door, snapped their attention to it. Twilight walked over and nervously opened the door to see the Princesses, who were quickly allowed inside. The ponies bowed, but Shadow remained sitting. "You may rise. Twilight, I take it this is your informant?" Celestia asked. "Yes. Princess Celestia and Princess Luna, I would like you to meet Shadow the Hedgehog. He's dealt with the Black Arms before. He may be our only hope of getting them off our planet." Twilight said, motioning towards the hedgehog. "Greetings Shadow. I am Princess Celestia, it is my job to raise and lower the sun, as well as protect Equestria from evil." Princess Celestia said with a smile. "Greetings. I am Princess Luna. I raise and lower the moon. I also help to protect Equestria from evil." Princess Luna said. "It's nice to meet you both. As said I am Shadow the Hedgehog... The Ultimate Life Form." Shadow introduced himself, but this confused all the ponies. "Ultimate Life Form? I am afraid we do not understand." Celestia said with a frown. "It's simple. There is nothing stronger than I am. If I so pleased I could destroy this entire planet... However I will not, for you have given me no reason to do so. We need to focus on the Black Arms. They will not stop until this planet is destroyed. We must plan for their attacks." Shadow explained, but the Princesses were now nervous. "What do you presume we do?" Celestia asked, and Shadow smiled. "Get as many ponies as you can, arm them, and send them to all your towns and cities, protect your subjects. Gather the remaining soldiers and send them to attack the bases they create and steal. Tell them to kill." Shadow instructed, that statement shocked the Princesses. "You suggest that we kill them?! Can we not negotiate?" Luna asked, but she already knew the answer to that. "You cannot negotiate with the Black Arms, they will try to kill you. They have weapons, they have soldiers, and they aren't afraid to use them. You may not believe in killing, but you'd best start to, it's your only way to get rid of them." Shadow said, now irritated, but before he could continue a loud beeping came from the communication device. It activated and they heard a different voice. "Shadow? Are you there? Can you read me? If you can please respond." Shadow's eyes widened at the voice and he pressed a button on the device. "Yes Commander! I read you!" Shadow replied. "Good. Shadow, have you tracked the Black Comet?" The Commander asked. "Yes, sir. I'm speaking with two of the planet's leaders. We're planning on how to eliminate the Black Arms..." Shadow said. "Good. Make sure you wipe out every last one of those creatures. It's your duty to Earth, the planet you're on, and perhaps the entire universe. Good luck." The Commander said, before the device deactivated. "Shadow, who was that?" Twilight asked. "The G.U.N. Commander. He's a military leader on Earth, but enough about that. We need to return to the Black Arms." Shadow said, but screams from outside got their attention. They rushed out of the library to see a large red cloud had formed above Ponyville. It began to drop several Black Arms soldiers, from the lowest of the low to their massive giants, and their bird like creatures. "What is that!?" Twilight asked, but Shadow ran forward before hovering towards them. Ready to fight off whatever comes his way.
Black DoomShadow jumped into the air and grabbed onto the tail of a Black Hawk, even with the added weight from the hedgehog it still remained in flight, however it now began to swerve in an attempt to get the hedgehog off its back. Shadow managed to keep his grip and climbed onto the bird like monster's back, before grabbing the two horns on its head. Shadow noticed the building that they were heading straight for and began to pull back on the Black Hawk's horns. "Go up! Go up!" Shadow shouted, as the Black Hawk began to fly straight upwards. Even though it had begun to fly upwards it still made contact with the building, shaking the two. The ponies of this town watched in disbelief, many unsure if this thing was friend or foe. "Is he insane!?" Twilight asked and watched as Shadow continued to rise upwards, before reaching and pulling one of the wings against the creature's body. It let out shrieks and screeches as it began to plummet towards the ground, and at the last second Shadow leapt off, and the Black Hawk slammed onto the planet's surface and a loud splat was heard. Shadow landed on his feet and turned back to face the puddle of green goo that was once the Black Hawk. Shadow leapt from building to building attacking any and all Black Arms forces that he encountered. They really had little chance of beating him. "Come on! Why are you all weak suddenly?" Shadow asked, hoping that this would at least be fun. However he felt a massive fist make contact with his back, slamming him away. Shadow got onto his feet and faced the giant. He held up the jewel, but he began to pulse with a red aura. "What the...?" Twilight began but was cut off when Shadow shouted something, with the entire attack group huddled around him. "CHAOS BLAST!" A red explosion to began to force its way past the Black Arms killing them instantly, however it didn't stop there, many of the buildings around Shadow were being destroyed as well. Many of the buildings where ponies had taken shelter from the attack and were now fearful of being killed in this massive explosion that threatened them. However it stopped, leaving Shadow standing in the middle of a scorched circle of grass, with bricks and wood falling to the ground around him. "Are you mad?! Does thou know how many of our subjects thou hast put in danger?!" Luna asked, furious at the hedgehog. "Would you rather I stood around and let them slaughter your subjects?" Shadow asked, which made the princess cringe. "You are a danger to Equestria!" Luna shouted. "I'm the only hope Equestria has!" Shadow yelled back, but a laughing was soon made aware. "Yes. Destroy each other... You'll only make our job easier." A large creature floated above them all. On each side if its head was a horn, it wore tattered robes with several different charms hanging around its neck, its thee fingered hands ended in small, but sharp claws. Finally its eyes were what was most unsettling. It had three eyes forming a triangle, but only the top one had a slit pupil. "You..." Shadow muttered, tightening his grip on the Chaos Emerald. "You little traitor! Why would you fight back against me? ME that had given you life! ME that had attempted to help you along your destiny! ME that allowed you to relive your moments with Maria!" The alien said, curling its fingers into fists. "You may have given me life, but you tried to make me into a monster like you! You may have let me see Maria again, but you made me relive her death! You are nothing but an evil that needs to be wiped out!" Shadow shouted, jumping at the alien, but it began to float to the side and disappeared. "I will break you... Then you'll join me... You'll see..." It said, while it spoke it began to sound further and further away. "All right Shadow. You got some splaining to do." Rainbow Dash said, pointing a hoof at him. "That was Black Doom, the alien that gave his DNA to help create me. He's the leader of the Black Arms..." Shadow answered, which made them all go silent. Shadow turned and began to walk back into the library while Spike poked his head out the door. "Is the alien war over?" he asked, but they shook their heads. "Ok." he slowly moved back inside, which made Shadow sigh. "Why do I feel like I'm the only sane one here?" Shadow asked himself. When he was given strange looks he shouted "Being extremely violent doesn't make someone insane. Have you just forgotten the fact that I saved all of you? This town would have been all dead, ever single pony here would have been slaughtered had I not stepped in!" Shadow shouted, which made Luna angry once again. "You nearly killed several of our subjects with your energy blast! We know that you are dangerous and must be locked away before you destroy or kill an innocent!" Luna yelled, but Shadow had heard enough. He slammed his elbow into her stomach and when she fell he kicked her in the jaw. Everypony else was too shocked to move, to shocked to act. Shadow lifted Luna's head up, she now was bleeding from her mouth and her right eye was swollen shut. "Shut... Up..." Shadow said before kicking her throat and walking away. "He's not insane?" Was all that Rarity said, breaking the silence.
