A Fresh Start in a Small Town

You are excited about moving into your new house in Ponyville, its about time you got out of your boring leaky apartment and bought a decent house for yourself. You wonder what you should do when you first get to Ponyville, you've heard of so many different things that you can do there. You heard from a friend that there is a friend that there is a club in Ponyville where they throw  insane parties and so many ponies go, you should probably crash on of the parties to meet some new ponies after you settle down. The DJ was a mare that goes by the name of Pon-3 such a cool name you thought, well you should probably stop thinking about what you want to do when you get there and start packing now.

After some of annoying packing you find a picture of you and your brother Cirrus Strike, you and him were close but on your last birthday he pulled a prank on you and decided it would be funny to find a dark lightning cloud and fly it over to you and have it shock you, You were so angry at him you could chase him to the end of the earth and then some! In fact you did chase him but he trains his wings so he was faster than you and you couldn’t catch up to him. “Oh well” you thought,

“I should pay him a visit before I leave” you say with a hint of guilt, it has been over 3 weeks since you two have spoken. After packing away some other things like some clothes, your glasses (you don't wear them since you hate them and think they get in the way) you left the apartment complex with a suitcase and 2 bags you went to Cirrus Strike's house.

On the way flying you spot a coffee shop and decide to drop in since you had a couple bits in your wallet you wanted to get the normal for you, a black coffee, you liked the way coffee tastes when it has nothing added to it. You see that it isn't very busy today only a colt and mare in front of you in line.

Once its your turn the cashier says “What will you be having today? The normal?” since you often came here everyone who worked here knew you they know what you order every time,

“Yes please” you say, Before she puts in your order you ask “Actually could you add some whipped cream on the top please?”

She turns around and says “Oh sure I can do that, something special today? Is that why you want something different.”

You smile respond “Yes actually i'm moving to a town called Ponyville, I want to live some were smaller and quiet”

As the mare comes back with your coffee she says “You usually get your normal coffee unless if something special is happening, also that will be four bits”

As you hand her the bits you say “Thank you” and walk off.  Enough sidetracking I better get to my brothers house before noon as you see the sun approaching its highest point in the sky.

When you see Cirrus' house you laugh to yourself, you see that he is collecting some clouds and putting them in his house he has always prefer to lay on a cloud than a couch or bed. When you walk over to the door you lift your hoof to knock on the door it suddenly swings open and you are bombarded by white fluff you see your brothers light blue mane in the mess as he calls in a childish voice

“Do you like what I did with the place? Now you can lay anywhere and be comfy!” You think to yourself what a good idea it was you must try it, but for now you should talk to your brother.

“You sure did change the place.” you let a laugh out. He flies into the mess of clouds and when you walk in he comes flying through a cloud and hits you head on.

“WHAT THE BUCK WAS THAT FOR.” You yell and you see that he is looking down at the floor and you barely hear him say

“I’m sorry big brother.”

Now you just realize how insensitive you were and say “No I over reacted you just wanted to have some fun.... I came over to see you before I move to Ponyville.”

He looks at you while pushing some of the clouds into the kitchen so you can actually see the living room he says “Oh you were actually moving there? I thought you were joking when you told me!” “Can I help you move? Do you need help moving the furniture out of your apartment?”

You appreciate his but decline “I already had it delivered there by a moving wagon.” He lets out a small “oh” “Its ok, hey brother is it ok if we hang out until one-thirty?”

He smiles and say “Sure”

At about one-twenty you tell your brother “I will make sure to invite you to that club I told you about when I get settled in with my house” He nods and you walk out of his house and fly off to catch the train to Ponyville. Hanging out with your brother was amazing you did many things like watching old movies play games and even look through old pictures of you and him. When you get on the train you find a seat on the left you sit down and stare out of the window and look at the beautiful land scape, it was breath taking the waterfall always looked so amazing you have always wanted to fly down the waterfall for some reason I guess its like flying over a river while flying very fast. You decide to take a nap. You slowly drift off to sleep.

You wake up to an employee asking you if a pony can sit across from you due to a lack of seats, You nod your head and watch as he comes back with a mare with a white coat and weird purple glasses she seams to be distracted by something and you see why, she has earbuds in and she is listening to music.

As she sits down she looks at you and says “Ay it was cool of you to let me sit here thanks” “finding an empty booth can sometimes be hard on this train.” You were just about to say it was ok but she cut you off, “Where are you going? I'm heading back home to Ponyville”

“I’m going there as well I am moving, wanted to go to a quieter town.”

The mare giggles and says “Ponyville is a small town yes but nothing short of quiet, something is always going on” You where just soooo thrilled to hear this but also a totally quiet town would be kinda boring so actually you find a little relief in the mare's words.

“What do you mean by something is always going on?” You say.

She grins and explains her job as a DJ “.... Ya I do gigs at this club nearby-” You suddenly speak before she gets to continue

“Wait are you Pon-3?”

She looks at you and takes off her glasses revealing her magenta eyes and replies “Yup thats me alright, wow didn't know I had some sort of reputation out of Ponyville” She seams pleased to know she is being talked about.

You casually say “Soo when is your next gig?” You ask.

She says “On Saturday, four days from now”

You ask “Do you have time to show me a bit around Ponyville when we get there?”

She responds “Sure I just have to make a stop at my house you can come along if you want.”

“Ya ill just go with you, also what is your real name?” you ask.

She says “Vinyl.”

“Ok Vinyl I want to get a nap in before we get to Ponyville, mind waking me up?” She shakes her head.

You wake up to a train whistle and you hear Vinyl say “Oh so I don't have to wake you up.”

You look at her “I guess not.” and off you two trot off to her house and she shows you some buildings the market, park and sugar cube corner on the way to her house.

As you two were outside Vinyl's house Vinyl says “Hey where do you live?” You look at her and say that its 4 houses to the left of hers and she just looks at you and says “MAN that is awesome we can be like neighbors and hang out.”

You think to yourself “it is nice to know I already know some pony I live near and it to be the DJ of the club I want to go to man this day is amazing.” “Ya thats cool” as you enter the house you see that its quiet clean, you would expect a DJ to be messy, then you hear a humming from the kitchen.

Vinyl yells  “Octavia I brought a new person in town to our house, he actually lives near us as well!” Octavia peeks over the corner and you see a beautiful brown mare with a black mane, you feel your cheeks getting warmer and try to hide the blush but she obviously notices, and she makes a mental note of it.

Octavia turns around the corner again and says “Vinyl I cleaned the house a bit for you now please don't make it a mess again.”

Vinyl grins and says “I'll try not too.” And Vinyl's horn starts glowing for a quick second and then you hear loud wubs coming from what you assume is Vinyl's room. Vinyl goes and grabs a backpack from her room and she said “We can go now, bye Octavia i'll be back later!”

“Okay ill be in my room probably practicing my on my cello.” You and Vinyl take off to explore the rest of Ponyville.

After Vinyl shows you around Ponyville, you decide its about time to go home and set up your furniture. When you get to your house you see that the colt that dropped off your furniture has set up that couch for you, since it was a busy day and you just wanted to have some sleep. You fall on the couch and pass out.
