Ponystorm: Island of the Lunatics.
Prologue! "Before anything else..."
Before anything else: I want to introduce myself and tell a short backstory about myself.
So, hello! My name is Cold Sky, just your above-average Pegasus born in Manehattan in a middle class family with four children, me being the middle one. I have a big sister, a big brother and a little brother. My job is a mechanic in a car shop and part-time night guard in a pizzeria. My special talent is to create hailstorms. I first knew when I was fourteen. (usually, your cutie mark or special talent would show up around six to eight.)
I've been bullied in my freshmen days, that one day I was very sad and useless, I flew up in the sky, lie down in a cloud and cried. Until I heard screaming and shouting on the ground, then I saw hail falling from my cloud. I found out I could create hailstorms with any of my body fluids! (Yes, even my piss could create a hailstorm.) That day, I had my special talent (or ability rather) and my cutie mark, a cloud with diamonds falling under it.
Enough talk about my life. Now I want to talk about Ponystorm. Ponystorm is the biggest and most famous off-road motor-sport festival in the whole Equestria. Parties, cars, booze, mares, and not to forget: racing. It is also broadcast through television and documented for history purposes; And has been around for ten years! Before Ponystorm had it's name, its was first called 'Monsterstorm'. It used to be all about monster trucks, stunts and monster trucks driving over cars and high slope jumps. Now its just a festival on off-road racing, parties, and stunts.
Ranks are given to each racers to have a fair race in the track: Rookies, Pros, and Veterans. Rookies, or someponies called Crashies, are new racers to Ponystorm. Pros, on the other hoof, are racers that have won ten qualification positions in a race. Veterans, are racers who've joined Ponystorm for more than five years. Its not easy being a rookie, ponies always despite them. Unless if a rookie shows that he/she s worthy of the attention.
Of course, there's rules and regulations. If a racer wrecked an opponent that cause an injury, a time penalty will be given to that racer, but if that opponent dies, the racer will be given to the court of law. If you're wrecked out of the race, automatic disqualification. A racer may not use any safety equipment, but Ponystorm wont be responsible for any injuries or deaths. Only use Ponystorm issued inter-coolers and boosters. Annnnnnnd that's just what I remembered.
Now I want to talk about my high school days. I know, I know, its irrelevant to Ponystorm, but trust me, it's part of the story! It was not easy living in Manehattan, so my family moved to Ponyville. And there, I finished my high school. I was kind of a nerd and a geek that time; strait-As, honors, video games, Ponystorm and fandoms. I've always been a shut in pony and kind of anti-social; I only hang out with other ponies who have the same interest as mine. But all that changes after I met Vinyl Scratch.
When I first met her, she was just those ponies who are reckless. (which I usually go away from.) She brought me into stupid stunts and weird stuff. There's that one time she forced me to test out her new 'invention'. It's actually a makeshift wooden box strapped over two skateboard. The aftermath of that is a broken wing, ribs and a foreleg. She even 'tried' parkour, by jumping from one four-story building to a two story building! She broke both of her forelegs and a hairline fracture in her head, because she face-planted.
Tragedy aside, we been through a lot of happy times! From bar fights, to street racing, to street racing fights. I've spent a lot of time with her, I stopped gaming and abandoned the internet to go out with her. There's that something that made me feel great around her, but I can't explain it. I've changed from a nerd to one of the cool kids because of her! (Still maintaining my grades though.) My mom told me not to go out with her, but I didn't listen! Even if she gives off this reckless dares or being reckless to herself, I still go around with her.
We moved back to Manehattan after my parents died in a car accident... It was sad, very sad... The world felt like it stopped when I heard the news. After that day, my siblings and I were all alone in the big world. At least our parents raised us well: My sister became a doctor, my brother opened his own restaurant in Manehattan. And me, a mechanic in a well known car repair shop and a block away from my brother's restaurant. We receive more income than our parents, they must be so proud of us.
I didn't heard from Vinyl after I moved to Manehattan, until I met her again when she visited my brother's restaurant. It was a coincidence of our meeting! I was just having a coffee there, then I saw her coming inside the store. I knew I recognized her, so I talked to her. Great thing is: she remembered me! We talked about stuff like: 'How are you doin?' or 'What job are you having?' or 'Which college course did you take?'. And she seem to changed a bit, actually she didn't, it felt like high school again when we talked.
I asked her if she got plans for the week, then she mentions being a DJ in Ponystorm. I was surprised that she was hired to Ponystorm! So I asked her if I could join around, she said any-pony could join the party, even her friend, Octavia. So she signed me up, but the problem is, the official aircraft carrier, (Yes, an aircraft carrier!) is full!
So we have to find another way to the destination. We managed to find a cargo plane going to the island, which can carry five cars and twenty ponies. Better than getting seasick right?
My brother helped me on my preparation and final preparations. My sister (who became a doctor) gave me a short check up so see if I'm fit for such event. I bought a Mirage 401, and did some work into it. Better shocks, turbocharged, roll caged, four cylinder engine, and lesser weight. I can join X-Games with this car. I colored it like my own colors, blue and sky blue, yellow roll cages and orange rims. It took a lot of time and effort (and of course, money.), but it'll be worth it!
And here, is where my crazy adventure starts.
