//-------------------------------------------------------// Claiming the Mare of Your Dreams -by StarRibbon- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Buck and Stuck //-------------------------------------------------------// Buck and Stuck Apple Buck didn't know when it hit - but it had done so viciously. It made every bit of him awaken the moment he had started realizing it. Especially his... He blushed as he struggled to get comfortable. It was foreign to him; it wasn't natural, at least in his perspective. It wasn’t right. Invasive, in all regards. The way he dreamed of his friend was something that friends would hardly do. Yet, here he was, struggling with the urge to mount and claim his long female best friend. It wasn’t just in those regards, either. It felt naturally unnatural as well - the long standing need to make her his mare, to hold her in his hooves as she nuzzled him. He would make sure to enjoy it, especially sniffing the wonderful scents of wild berries and lavender that illuminated from her lithe form... Uh oh. He hid this urge with the bed as Applejack trotted in with a smile plastered on her face, one of knowledge. Yet, he secretly hoped she didn't know. He didn't want anyone to know, especially not his older sister. "Apple Buck, I didn't expect you to head out so quickly," Her southern accent was comforting as she rubbed his red mane. He sent her a sheepish grin. "Ah..ha.." He stuttered as he regained composure. "I...have a test tomorrow, a real big one, ya know? Plus, I promised Serene Belle that I'd come with him later to Sugarcube. I think Scootaloo might come later, but he wasn't sure she'd make it." Applejack eyed him carefully as he spoke. 'Please don't question it, please!' He begged Celestia to answer his prayers. Apple Buck didn't know how to explain to his sister, not that explaining was something he wanted to clearly do. Applejack shook her head, a smile transforming into a slight frown before bounding back. "You know if you have problems, you should come to me straight away, right?" Applejack questioned, looking towards him as she tucked the covers. He nodded immediately. "Of course I'd ask you!" He responded. He normally would, that wasn't necessarily such a lie. "..." She paused before sighing as she walked near the door. She turned back to give him a comforting smile. "Goodnight little brother." She clicked the lights off and softly closed the door behind her. "Thank Celestia..." He whispered, looking up at the ceiling. It stared back at him, not helping in the slightest. He turned away from it, looking out the window to the moon. When had it begun to become more than typical lust of a boy? Nonetheless, lust for a friend he has known since Diamond Crown's party? It wasn't simply a lust towards her for being nearly a full grown mare. Despite his qualms, he pictured the lust- no, hormone driven rutting he would have given Tremble and Silver Spoon, the former being Serene Belle's marefriend and the latter being his worst enemy. Tremble was gorgeous, it wasn't deniable. The gray coated pegasus was the figure head for the dances, almost coming as queen more times than the ever popular Silver Spoon. It was no surprise that Serene and Diamond were almost always the kings of the dances. Yet, the two gray mares were just pieces of eye candy- almost like a picture in a museum. Pretty in appearance, just for show. Yet, both held vapid personalities. Hopefully, Apple Buck wouldn't state that about Tremble tomorrow to Serene lest he hear a cry like no other. The feeling wasn't towards her for being his only female best friend, though- it lends to it. She was beautiful in her own regards; her short violet mane grown over the years, curving to her lithe form in the form of a ponytail. Her body grew in proportion to her wings, giving her curves that many desired, though flying still seemed impossible. Her flanks became firmer, her wings an accent to the build she possessed. Yet, her eyes made his heart fly without being a pegasus. They held confidence and pride. They were not self absorbed, but they weren't hiding themselves. Her personality made it clear. Perhaps, he cared for her since the day they met? It seemed fitting. He could almost imagine her motions in the room. The way she trotted to her loyalty and insecurity. He tossed his hooves up. He denied it the pleasure of telling him he loves her. He yawned. Stubbornness, thankfully was his strong suit. His eyes fluttered closed as the darkness swirled around. Or, maybe it wasn't a gift. He awoke in Scootaloo's home, he was sure of it. More specifically, her room. It had Rainbow Dash posters on the walls and other various things. Some being dance posters and others talking about mathematics, gears and parts. He shifted, looking down to feel something beneath his hooves. "Why am I on her bed?" It smelt of berries. He smiled a bit before a door started to open. His head shot straight up, staring. "I - I'm sorry Scootaloo, I didn't.." Scootaloo tilted her head, looking at him with a smile. "Why are you apologizing? You're allowed here any time you want. Just make sure Dad isn't home. " That didn't sound right. Papa Wheelie had known him for years, certainly he wouldn't be upset with him being here now. "Why?" The words were caught in his throat. Scootaloo, however, heard it. She shifted uncomfortably as a blush formed on her cheeks. Her wings pinned uncharacteristically against her sides, trembling. "B-Because..erm.." Apple Buck couldn't help but find her stuttering adorable as she shifted. He would enjoy knowing her insecurities more often, but for now he simply enjoyed the change. "I-I'm...on my season...uh...my heat cycle.." The stench just hit him. He tightened his composure. His cheeks heated up with the latest announcement. "Y-You are?" "That's why.. that's why I wanted you to be here. "She trotted over and sat beside him. Her face nuzzled into his neck as his tail intertwined with hers. It was hard to ignore the smell of the heat. It was intoxicating the closer she got. "I..kinda like you. Uh, like you like you." Apple Buck nuzzled her back as she trembled. "You..do..?" Words were absent as he tried picturing the notion. She nodded while snuggled into his pale yellow coat. "I liked you for a while, really..." She sighed as she started looking into his eyes. "I..want you..to..claim me...today.." She fell on her back outstretched. Her legs opened wide as her wings unfurled. "What?!" Apple Buck jumped up at the notion, but it undeterred the orange pegasus. She grew alluring as she propped herself up, making her way to the end of her bed. Her hoof touched his face as she pulled him in for a kiss, breaking the startled colt. "I don't want anyone..to take it away but you. " She whispered, holding onto him. "I..trust you, okay dip head?!" "You s..sure?" "What does this mean?" Her kiss was intense, forcing him to battle a war he was too happy to oblige to. He started to climb the bed, managing to go on top of her in the process while kissing. Her hooves intertwined, between hugging him and running through his mess of a mane. They only stopped to catch their breath. "Scootaloo.." Apple Buck felt the awakening again in everything. It was calling as his body was grinding against hers. "I..I love you more than you ever could believe..." He nuzzled the mare below him as she panted. "I..I never thought I'd hear you say that," Scootaloo answered as her body grew hotter. "I'd never expect you were exploring kisser." She squeaked, she never squeaked before. His hoof was exploring the untouched instead of answering back. His tail started high in the air as she cried out, clenching the blankets. Something clicked in his mind as he lowered his head to her. The smell caught him as he couldn't resist. He licked to taste, but taste didn't stop. It grew with his hunger as the mare melted with each touch. She cried out, pleading for more. He didn't resist as he felt her pulsating, the gunk covering his nose as he did so. A satisfying reward. Her face said the same thing; red and with a smile he would never forget. "Are you ready?" She didn't have the energy to speak, only nod with the smile. He cradled her in his arms right before his throbbing stallion hood pushed into the enter location. The euphoria increased with each thrust. She gripped him with each, moaning in his ears in perfect harmony. Maybe it was her cycle, or perhaps it was just Scootaloo herself, but the euphoria felt almost everlasting. His restraint destroyed as he cried out, filling the mare with all he had. "Scootaloo?!" Everything fell silent. Apple Buck slowly turned his head to face the angered stallion at the doorway. He only caught a glimpse of Scootaloo, but he was sure he saw pure terror in her light purple eyes as she stared at the door. It was none other than Papa Wheelie himself. His blue eyes wide. "Er..Mr. Wheelie...." Apple Buck broke the silence as he stopped mounting his daughter. He stepped away as Scootaloo covered herself in an attempt to solve the situation. "D-Dad! L-Look, I-" She weakly cried as her ears fell. "You're in bed with my daughter!" His loud voice trembled throughout the room. "I told you to stay away from my angel! How dare you defile my daughter?!" Apple Buck started to back away from the larger stallion as he seemed to bound closer. "M-Mr.Wheelie, I - I could explain, I swear!" He didn't buy that, looking skeptical as his horn lit up, engulfing Apple Buck. "How dare you come into my home...rutting my heat ridden daughter senseless!" He felt the ground beneath his hooves disappear as they moved along. Why did everything seem to move faster than time allowed typically? He saw Applejack and Big Mac scolding him after the charade. Scootaloo wasn't at the school for days, and it wasn't long before word got out. He snapped forward, it was her room again, but it felt off. Her room was bigger, brighter. Everything seemed more in tune with two ponies than one. She simply sat on the bed, looking down at her hooves as they fiddled with something. On closer inspection, it was a pregnancy test with the answer right in front of her. It was a cross, pregnant. He held his breath, waiting for a response. "Apple...Buck?" She smiled as she trotted towards him with a hug he never expected. She was taller than before, more..mare like in appearance, he supposed. How did he not see the apple design ring on her arm? He saw it the moment he felt her wrap her arms around him. Her wings flaring out as she grew excited. "I didn't expect you to be done with the farm yet, dear. " Dear? "*cough* It wasn’t hard in the least. "Her smile was contagious. "What were you doing a moment ago?" Her grin turned large as she sat on the floor, looking down. "Remember our honeymoon? You were the sweetest stallion...You protected me that day. I didn't know how react, but.." Her voice trailed off as she touched her stomach. "The aftermath...of that is our own foal. Apple Buck, I'm pregnant. We're going to be parents!" He couldn't believe the information. Every bit couldn't be analyzed, yet he felt himself hold her in his arms, twirling her in excitement. "We're going to be parents!" His voice caught him off guard. He didn't care. He just kept on yelling it across the farm as Applejack congratulated the duo. The pony folk weren't bothered by his loud voice, and if they were, he didn't listen. He didn't care. Apple Buck grunted as he noticed everything change. They weren't in Scootaloo's home or their home, but in a hospital. Scootaloo laying in a bed on her back, holding onto his hoof. She glanced his way, smiling a moment. "The doctor is going to be in shortly, you'll be ready to deliver soon," A white coated pony smiled as she trotted off. Scootaloo had a bigger appearance as she laid down, yet she glowed radiantly. He nuzzled her as her spare hoof touched her bump. "It still can't believe it.." She whispered, looking his way. "Our own foal..soon.."His hoof was crushed momentarily as she cried out. He waved his hoof. Bucking trees had its uses. "The family's waiting on you two!" Applejack smiled appears she entered. "We can't wait to see the new Apple member. Most of them are outside, waiting to see." Scootaloo didn't respond as tears fell from her eyes. He stroked her mane, but to no avail. "The..the foal is ready...my sweet Celestia!" Applejack peered out the room, hoof signaling the nearest doctor. "What might be the problem tod-" "You seriously can't see the problem? My wife is giving birth and none of you seem to care!" He scrunched his nose. It didn't feel real, it was vague just how comfortable he had gotten with the notions presented. Applejack held out he had arm as he pushed against her, ready to get the doctor. "Apple Buck!" Applejack chided, with a small glare. "No attitude, you hear?" "B-But-" "None." Her voice was clear as the glare on her face. He sighed as he had relented. The doctor took only minor offense as she peered under to check. "My! More than ready to give birth, if I dare to admit." She prepared her for delivery. Waiting wasn't something Apple Buck was good at, if he was honest. He was downright terrible at it. Although the situations seemed so foreign, questioning wasn't necessary. It felt natural. Scootaloo was his lovely wife, having his foals..by his side. He nuzzled her quickly as the final push gave out a high pitched cry or two. "Congratulations! Mr. Apple, you have been blessed by Celestia with two lovely foals. Meet your new son and daughter, they'd like to meet you two. " Scootaloo was too happy to ignore the opportunity as she held the two in her hooves, nuzzling the foals as they cried. One was a lovely shade of yellow orange with a shock of red mane while the other was powder yellow with a violet mane that twirled around her ears. "Welcome to the world..." With a bolt, Apple Buck flung out of bed as the dawn decided to visit. He panted, taking small glances of the room. His room, no pony elses. He closed his eyes, the movie reel playing to replay the events. It had been but a dream. Nothing but one big fantasy, but it struck about wrong. He had to admit to the urges. He had to tell. Fiddlesticks. Author's Note Back to writing! Poor Apple Buck. //-------------------------------------------------------// Falling Before the Finish //-------------------------------------------------------// Falling Before the Finish Apple Buck trotted around his room; unable to contain himself. His frown evident as he thought of the dreams. Reality hit him with force he couldn't relent. "How...am I...?" He frowned, his head lowered. He pawed the floor as he looked toward the vanity. He was the head of the Crusaders, once upon a time, before his cutie mark appeared. He came up with great plans that were above anything else; he swore the other two wouldn't have noticed the real intent on his plans if he hadn't explained it outright. Wording shouldn't be a huge problem, but why was it now then? "It shouldn't be too difficult! Apple Buck, you went in front of crowds during the Equestrian Games. Hay, you've been carried by a filly smaller than you, on a scooter nonetheless! You even didn't care when the other ponies laughed at that, yet you can't confess that you love that marvelous mare?!" Did he just? His eyes widen as realization dawned on him. Why wasn't it that simple all the time? Scootaloo is beautiful; he just needed to tell her that. Remind her how precious she is to him. Simple. His breath felt stuck as he stared at himself in the mirror. " I just have to repeat that phrase again to her. Just, to her. Crusaders never back down!" He sighed as he stared. Easier said than done. Moments tick by, his mouth moved with silent words backing them. "Damn it!" "Ya'll okay, Apple Buck?" The deep southern accent followed the hooves that pounded into the wooden floor as he answered. He turned, facing Big Mac as he sighed. "We heard you mutterin' from downstairs." "Applejack sent you, didn't she?" Big Mac grew silent before entering, nodding as he done so. " 'fraid she did. Bet some bits on a mare troubling you." He replied. He tapped his hoof on his chin. "Stallions need to talk to other stallions sometimes." Apple Buck frowned. Big Mac sighed, frowning as he beckoned him over. Apple Buck listened, sitting next to his big brother, his head lowered. He wouldn't dare look his way, even for a minute. "Look, it's..it's not that bad." Big Mac's arm wrapped around him, pulling him into a hug. "M-Mac? I told-" "Applejack's been worried 'bout this day. We all were ever since you brought that filly over, Scootaloo...was it?" Buck blushed at the notion, turning his face. Blushing in front of his brother? He shook his head. "That's her name..." He coughed. He didn't need to think long to remember when she came over for the first time. With all the banter, it was difficult to forget. "We were arguing for a while, weren't we?" "A while don't cover the length of those arguments!" Big Mac laughed. Clearly, he remembered as well. The fight started from something mundane, if he were to admit. Button Mash casually suggested hanging out with Scootaloo would be dangerous, being a girl. When word got to her, she fought back. "It didn't help ya tried acting like a prince to 'er." Apple Buck rubbed his neck, finally looking his way. "How was I to know she didn't like being treated that way?" Big Mac simply eyed him. He shook his head. "Alright, I know now that it was a mistake to not listen to AJ, but I didn't think she'd go that far!" "If memory serves, she served you, " He reminded. Scootaloo managed to neuter him without physically doing so. He didn't hear the end of it for weeks, particularly from the male population. It didn't aid the suspicion. Two colts simply couldn't be friends with a filly without having hassle involved. His laugh died down as a serious approach was exchanged."I suppose now ain't the time to recall the history." Buck weakly nods. He remembered when he became enamored with the pegasus in question now. It was suddenly returning. She was proud and independent, even then. So much so she proved it to the others while humiliating him. Thankfully, Serene didn't care enough to pursue anything that happened that day further. He was always the voice of reason, after all. "I don't like her like that, come on!" He gave his best glare. "She's my best friend, I can't possibly find her beautiful in that sort of way!" Damn his mouth to heck. Word diarrhea couldn't possibly have come at a better time, could it? "Sounds to me you are head over hooves for that mare, ain't you?" He nudged him playfully as Buck sputtered. His words couldn't form properly, creating a mess that of incoherent letters. "You didn't need to say that to me. I already heard it. You ain't the quietest of colts, ya know." Buck sighed out, fiddling with his hooves. His heart grew stuck in his chest without the ability to pump. His closed his eyes. He told him, but barely. Certainly, he couldn't take it upon himself to confess to her. Perhaps she didn't care for him in such a light, anyway. A mare like her wouldn't want a colt of his standing. Tears formed at the base of his eyes before he quickly hid them. "She's amazing...it's a shock that she’s my friend right now. She's...she's the most beautiful mare I've ever seen. Most ponies underestimate her sweetness, but they don't hang with her much. " His face flushed as he imagined her again. He didn't need to be a pegasus to fly; he just had to imagine her. "She wouldn’t want me, anyway. It was stupid to think she would." "Why wouldn't she want you?" Big Mac questioned. Apple Buck's eyes widen as his brother eyed him carefully. "Look, I'm not a love expert by any means of the stretch, but it sounds like your over thinking things. If she didn't like your life style, she wouldn't be friends with ya this long. Now, if you want her, you must confess. It ain't easy, but the reward is worth it." Apple Buck pondered for a moment. "I can't just tell 'er!" He insisted. "I..I can't even tell my reflection that I do. How can I possibly consider telling her directly?" "You seemed confident when you told me just now. What's this about being unable to do so to yourself?" Apple Buck did a retake. He had announced it, hadn't he? It was something that couldn't sink in. He told Big Mac. His heart fluttered a bit, regaining confidence. "I...did, didn't I?" His frown changed into a smile that started to grow with each passing moment. "I..just need to tell her that..." He jumped off the bed with a spring in his step. "Got a plan already?" Apple Buck shook his head. "Not really, " Apple Buck grinned as he waved him off, rushing down the stairs. He greeted the rest with a short greet with an occasional apology thrown here and and there from his haste. He tied his bandana and signaled his departure. "What's got him in a knot?" Granny Smith looked toward her eldest grandchild for the answer as he trotted towards her. A proud smile formed without much help. "Nothing much. He just needed a change in perspective." Apple Buck's joy didn't fade in the least as he headed into town. Pinkie Pie had always been the town's most optimistic pony, but some would compare Apple Buck's bright mood to rival the Element of Laughter's as he made his way through town. 'All I need to do is tell her,' He reasoned softly. He sighed softly. 'Get a grip on everything! Your an Apple, we keep level headed!' Truth be told, Apples weren't always level headed. He didn't bother saying it, though. He opened the door and peered through before his cheerful mood diminished. Scootaloo was in a fighting stance, her wings flared wide as she glared at the three ponies before her. Two of them were earth ponies, the other a grey pegasus. The earth pony mare was gray like the pegasus; her purple eyes shown behind her luxury glasses had a glint of glee as she snickered. Beside her was the classic earth pony colt- his purple and white mane stood out like a sore hoof as did the gray pegasus with a black sleek mane that twirled to her side. "Silver Spoon, Diamond Crown..Tremble?" Apple Buck eyed the trio as he stepped forward, but was stopped when a soft cry assaulted his ears. Scootaloo glanced over, beckoning him over. "Tremble..." She said softly before glaring at the pegasus at hoof. Apple Buck didn't need to hear her finish. It clicked instantly as she watched said pegasus back off, holding onto Diamond Crown. Tremble cheated on Serene. Author's Note In this world, colts are more present. Especially in certain episodes like Flight to the Finish. //-------------------------------------------------------// Hurricane Tremble //-------------------------------------------------------// Hurricane Tremble To say Serene was in love was an understatement, a major one at that. Ever since he achieved his cutie mark, a bell with music notes, he wanted a specific mare. While he had a crush at one point, this particular mare was his goal: the luxurious Tremble. She was the eye of the school and he was the eye of her heart. Nothing would deter him from feeling this way towards the gray coated pegasus. Tremble was everything sophisticated with the life of a Canterlot pony. She was what Rarity would deem of as a "princess of nobility". He has seen many a princess, being the brother of the Element of Generosity, but he couldn't compare her to any of the princesses he has met before. Not even the radiant Princess Cadance. She was more precious, more beautiful than any goddess. Her grace rivaled the greatest of models. If he thought deep enough, one could say she had all the elements of harmony. Any stallion would adore his position and glare at him in envy while any mare would grow upset over her perfection. She was the perfect mare, and no pony could rival it. He was content with his life. Or, was he really? He wiped tears from his cheek. He wasn't content now- far from the feeling. He whimpered as his white coat grew stained in his tears. Her cursed to himself. If other colts caught him crying...He shook his head. Reputation didn't matter anymore. He didn't have the strength to care about the nasty lines from anypony, really. All he cared for was the dull ache radiating from his chest. It stung with each wave. "Serene? Are you okay?" The elegant tone of voice was Rarity, naturally. He knew her speaking mannerisms anywhere. He lifted his head from the spot perched, but it was a weak endeavor. "Please, give a response, darling!" "I'm...fine, " He weakly answered. His melodic voice fell flat, exhausted. Rarity paused. Serene couldn't help but wonder if she left, but thought against it. She would have made noise if she left. Nothing was heard. "Are you willing to talk to us about it?" Rarity spoke up, her voice firm. "You can't keep yourself locked in your room, Serene. Its a rarity for you to act like this. One of these days I might just have to grant you access to my fainting chair." She gave a weak laugh. He didn't bother to stop the forming glare even if it was towards a door. "I thought you were busy with fashion week," He avoided the question. She said nothing for a long while, ignoring his words. "Rarity?" Rarity, however, had plans. Her blue magic formed, opening the door without his consent. "Serene? I came to check on you. I got worried when you weren't at Sugarcube," Another voice spoke up. He perked up at the voice almost immediately after hearing it. Scootaloo smiled as she sat beside him on his bed, nuzzling him in greeting. "When did you get here?" He inquired, a small smile threatening to escape. Scootaloo smirked. "I've been here for a while, dude. Can't help it if you're too Rarity to hear me." "You two are simply precious!" Rarity cooed out, ignoring the comment. Scootaloo's face flushed as she turned from her. "You two would make a fine couple; granted, if he hadn't chosen Tremble of course. In fact, precious might be an understatement!" Curse Serene for having a white coat. He couldn't resist blushing from her compliment. He hadn't understood why; he wasn't her coltfriend. He didn't love her in such a manner as he loved Tremble, anyway. Probably embarrassed. She seemed to be. He sighed out, a fresh wave of tears forming from the thought of his old beloved. Scootaloo wouldn't date him either, he supposed. Wait. What? "Rarity...?" Her voice picked up again. Like some unspoken rule, Rarity simply nodded with a frown. "I'll...leave you two to your own devices," Rarity backed away, the door closing behind her with gentleness. Scootaloo coughed, smiling a bit. "I got here after the...fiasco, too..." Her face fell after that. He pawed at the bed absent-minded. "Not immediately," He reminds with a frown. Scootaloo smirked as she nuzzled his cheek to cheer the colt up. He sniffed, staring for a moment. "You known me for years, what do you think I did?" Scootaloo eyed him for a moment. His green orbs widen, the pieces clicking together. "You didn't," His eyes didn't leave her. She snickered as she nudged his side. "You really think I'd let that whorse hurt you like that? If you think so, I swear you need evaluating." She smiled as she moved closer, holding his hoof in the process. She sent a mischievous smile his way, a spare hoof clearing his tears. "You're...special to me, you know? Both of you are. I don't want somepony like that to hurt you." His heart pounded hard at the statement. Why was he having palpitations with her? All she said was she cared about him. It wasn’t special or new. "Thank..you.." She smiled, granting him a hug for the revelation. His cheeks flared, her touch igniting something lost in transition. His heart fell unexpectedly when the touch didn't linger when she pulled away. "That...helped a lot Scootaloo." She gave her trademark grin once more, intertwining her tail with his for a moment. "Don't mention it. If you hear Tremble complain about her wings, say nothing. Just casually state they'll be better in a few." "Days?" She shook her head. The glint coming back. "Weeks." They glanced at eachother. Serene couldn't tell if she was serious, but something said she was. After a moment, they landed on eachother in a fit of laughter. "Relax, it ain't that bad!" "Tell that to her!" Scootaloo waved him off as her wings fluttered in excitement. "Tell you what, I'll meet ya down at Sugarcube for some shakes. Its on me." Serene Belle started moving to get up as Scootaloo jumped off the bed with a twirl added in the end. He almost forgot she had a cutie mark in dancing. She didn't act like she had, but Scootaloo was special in that regard. He almost stared at her flanks where the mark was, but he went against that. It was rude to stare at her flanks...even if they were divine after working so hard. 'Damn it, Serene!' He chided. 'Don't you stare. Your just deprived because of Tremble. Nothing more or less.' "No- I don't-" She raised a hoof. "Say no more! It's on me, I will not take 'no' for an answer," She sat on her haunches. "As the divine gods have said: LET THE MARE PAY FOR ONCE!" He blinked at her silly outburst before stifling some giggles. "Fine, you pay." Serene laughed. "Meet you there, I know just how long you colts take to get ready. I'll be waiting." With a swing of her tail, she bolted out, nearly colliding with Rarity on the way out. With a quick apology, she disappeared from sight. With a smile and as sigh, he slowly bounded from the bed as he took in a single breath. "She's a ball of energy, is she not?" Serene jumped back as Rarity popped her head from the doorway. Surprised, she pulled him back with her magic. "My sincerest apologies. Didn't mean to scare, truly." Serene coughed as he regained composure. "Thanks, erm, Rarity. " He wiped himself clean. "I'm sorry for what happened between..you and..her.." Her voice dropped an octave. "Sincerely didn't mean to harm you with bringing the name." His head slowly lifted as he stared. Did she? "How..much did you hear?" Rarity kicked the floor aimlessly. Her eyes falling there on instinct. "Rarity?" "I heard most of it, "She admits. He gasps, but before responding she waved him off. "But I don't retract my statement. Mostly. Surely you fell for another anyway. She's like a perfect match for you! It's just so adorable!" She squeezed him tight with a smile. He shook her off. "She's my best friend, I don't like her like that! She’s just been helping me, like she's always done. " Rarity paused, a small frown forming before it disappeared with a knowing smile in its place. "I'm afraid I know how you feel all too well. Think on it, darling. Then we'll talk about..specifics. Give it a day. Perhaps, by chance, your just strung on that Tremble ex marefriend of yours. You'll get your answer, then." Serene sniffled for a moment, pausing before answering. His heart stopped its frantic beat. There, alleviated. "Thank you for that," Serene genuinely smiled for the first time at his sister since the ordeal. "I really needed that gesture." Rarity laughed a bit, waving her hoof. "Now, now, its fine, dear. Just go have a splendid afternoon with Scootaloo. A stallion can't simply stiff a mare." Rarity waved. "Off with you, now!" It hadn't taken long for Serene to get the hint before rushing off to the establishment at hand. Rarity snickered softly as she watched him leave. "Poor soul can't see how deep he's in love with her." She sighed softly. "Tremble, what had you done?" Author's Note I didn't jump ahead, I kind of rehashed the prior event. This happened before Apple Buck's arrival at Sugarcube.
