IT'S ALL JUST A DREAM...
Load Full StoryNext ChapterPinkie Pie twisted in her bed rolling about her sheets as her mind was filled with inner turmoil. She was running away from a dark male figure who's face she couldn't see but she knew instinctively that if he caught her she was going to be hurt in a terrible way. But as she ran it seemed that she couldn't get any further away from him. In fact, he seemed to be getting closer and closer to her. She could feel his breath on her flank now and she knew that if she didn't move it he would grab her.
"No....No.....Please NO......NOOOO.......NOOOOOOO!!!!!" Pinkie Pie screamed in her dreams and then.....
A crash sounded from Pinkie Pies room and Ms. Cake popped out of bed. "Oh dear, What is that silly filly doing now." She said to herself softly. She looked over at her husband and smiled as he continued to sleep soundly. Ms. Cake slid out of the bed quietly, trotted out the bedroom door and trotted down the hall to Pinkie Pies room. She knocked softly on the door before speaking in a gentle voice. "Pinkie Dear? Are you ok? Did you fall out of bed again?" Pinkie Pie was sitting on her bed trying to catch her breath. Ms. Cake slowly opened the door wondering why she hadn't spoken up yet. Pinkie usually had a fast reply and would almost always bound to the door and swing it open with a huge grin plastered to her face and a happy giggle that let Ms. Cake know she was truly ok.
"Pinkie Dear? Did you hit your head this time?" Ms. Cake asked softly poking her head into the room now noticing the large Pinkie shaped lump that was sitting up on the bed. Still Pinkie didn't respond and Ms. Cake began to worry that her dear apprentice had indeed hit her head very hard and must be suffering from memory loss. She reached out a hoof and turned on the lights showering the silent pink mare in a florescent glow. Ms. Cake opened the door all the way now and walked quietly over to Pinkie Pie.
"Pinkie dear, Its me Ms. Cake. Do you understand what I am saying? Do you know who I am?" Ms. Cake asked her questions with a twing of dread in her heart but when Pinkie Pie turned towards her she was suddenly filled with fear and confusion. Tears ran down Pinkies face like two tiny rivers that shimmered in the glow of the florescent light. Her bright blue eyes looked like large pools of water that were over flowing uncontrollably like a dam had broken. And yet, despite her obvious sorrow on Pinkie Pie's mouth was a smile just as wide and bright as Ms. Cake had ever seen her make. Ms. Cake nearly jumped out of her skin when Pinkie spoke her voice completely bubbly and happy as it always was despite her tear stained cheeks showing all the evidence that something was very wrong.
"Oh hello Ms. Cake!! I was just having a bed dream. A very wary ugly wugly baddie waddie dream. But I'm awoke now and the dream has gone Bye Bye! How are you tonight? Did I wake you? I'm soooo sorry! I didn't mean to wake any pony with my bad dreams." Pinkie Pie hung her head in shame but Ms. Cake could have cared less about having been woken up. Something was very wrong with her beloved apprentice and she wasn't sure if it was something that she could fix. Through Pinkie's entire speech her eyes continued to shed tears at an alarming rate. Ms. Cake spoke in as gentle a voice as she could not wanting to upset Pinkie further.
"Its okay Pinkie dear, I usually end up waking around this time anyway because I have to use the bathroom. But that's not important. What is important dear is, well....Why are you crying? What was your dream about or did you hurt yourself falling out of bed?" Ms. Cake sat on the bed next to Pinkie who looked at her confused even as tears kept pouring from her eyes.
"Crying??Me?? I'm not crying Ms. Cake...Are you sure your all the way awoke because I think your still half way in a dream world! Hehehehe!" Pinkie giggled her usual giggle and Ms. Cakes eyes widened. She was looking right at Pinkie Pie, and she was clearly crying. But it seemed that she didn't even know it.
"Pinkie Pie, sweetie....You ARE crying." Ms. Cake said in a firm but soft voice. Pinkie looked at her confused. "Pinkie take your hooves and feel your face. You ARE crying dear and I'd like to know why so I can help you." Pinkie did as she was told and gasped in shock. Her face was wet with tears but even more she could feel the fresh new tears running from her eyes down her cheek and over her hooves.
"OH MY GOODNESS!! Ms. Cake I Am crying!! But why!? And why cant I seem to stop?" Pinkie Pies face took on a look of terror as she started to wipe at her eyes only to have them fill again with more tears that were seemingly never ending.
"You mean you didn't notice it before Pinkie?" Ms. Cake asked with concern etching into her voice.
"NO....I had no idea till I felt it with my own hooves. Ms. Cake what is wrong with me!?" Pinkie asked with a mix of fear and confusion.
Ms. Cake sighed as she reached for the phone that was right by Pinkies night stand, then dialed 911. A dispatcher stallion answered in a warm chipper voice.
"Hello, you have reached the 911 emergency, What is your emergency?" He asked quickly.
"Hello, This is Ms. Cake and I think I will need an ambulance for my apprentice Pinkie Pie. She had a bad dream, fell out of bed and is now crying uncontrollably." The dispatcher was silent for a moment then replied in the same chipper soft voice he'd used when he answered.
"Ok so she fell out of bed and hit her head and is in serious pain?" He was about to start typing that in when Ms. Cake interrupted.
"No that's not it. She fell out of bed, Got back into bed and now she is crying uncontrollably....I literally mean uncontrollably. She can not get the tears to stop even after rubbing her eyes. I think something is very wrong. Please send help right away." There was another pause and the dispatcher answered.
"OoooKay, So she is suffering some kind of neurological emergency. Ill get someone out there as soon as possible. Tell her to sit in a comfortable position and if her condition changes in anyway please call us back right away." Ms. Cake thanked him and the phone went dead.
"Alright Pinkie Pie, don't you worry the paramedics will be here soon to help you and take you to the doctors." Ms. Cake placed a hoof gently on Pinkies back. She looked at her with loving tender eyes then gasped as Pinkies face took on a look of utter horror and a ear splitting scream erupted from the pink mare. Ms. Cake jumped then started to try to comfort her hyper distressed apprentice.
Little did she know that the reason for Pinkies sudden transformation was standing in the door way. Standing there was her husband. And little did she know of the terrible things he had been doing to the pink mare that she loved as if she was her own child. But soon, every pony would know. Every pony would know of the darkness behind Pinkie Pie's smile. And every pony would know just how bitter some ingredients in sweet things can be.
