//-------------------------------------------------------// To Save a (bunch of) Seapony[ies] -by GravityFallsCrossovers- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// The Letter //-------------------------------------------------------// The Letter "And that, Twilight Sparkle is why I am tasking you with the responsibility of catching these poachers. But be warned, when you find them, they will not show you any mercy. They'll kill anypony who stands in their way, so be careful. I understand your abilities are superior to that of any other unicorn, but these ponies are very powerful, and they had the highest technology on their side. -Sincerely, Princess Celestia" Twilight finished reading the letter aloud to Spike, who was laying down in his little bed.     "So let me get this straight," Spike said, "Princess Celestia expects you to dive down to the bottom of the ocean somehow and stop a group of criminals who broke out of Canterlot's Maximum Security Prison?"     "Not her exact words, but yeah, that's what she implied." Twilight replied, looking at the letter again, and then flipping it over, "There's also this bit about a former student of hers on the back of the paper. "     "Was he/she/it evil?" Spike interjected quickly, hoping the answer would be a no.     "Of course not!" Twilight gasped, "Why would you even suggest that?!"     "Dunno. Just a thought." Spike answered, rolling his eyes.     "Anyway, it says she once taught a young unicorn named Stephen, and on the day he earned his cutie mark, everypony made fun of it because apparently he earned it in telling stories about seaponies he met... somehow. Basically, nobody took him seriously and everybody treated him like a kid. They all thought he just made everything up, but according to this letter, he cast a permanent water-breathing spell; one of the hardest to master, and ran away with these supposed 'seaponies'. It says Celestia's been searching for almost 16 years now, but still no sign of him, and since we're supposed to be going to the same ocean he disappeared to, it's possible we may find him ."     "Wow" Spike said, getting out of his mini bed, "I wonder where he is now."     "That's the interesting thing, Spike!" Twilight said, enthusiastic all of the sudden, "He could be ANYWHERE by now! Or......dead. But that's besides the point!"     "Actually that very much relates to the point."     "Whatever. The punchline here is that we get the rest of the gang, find a way to cast a water-breathing spell, and rescue some seaponies and possibly a long lost unicorn!"     "But, Twilight......"     "What, Spike?" Twilight sighed, grabbing her saddlebag and started to fill it with quills, papers, and books she would most likely not need, but she was going to read anyway..     "How are you going to learn that water-breathing spell? According to this book, and your own words it is one of the hardest spells to master." Twilight proceeded to grab the book and read every word on the page in about ten seconds flat.    "Well.....uh....I was talking about the permanent one, but according to this book......" Twilight trailed off as she finished reading, "Only certain unicorns and alicorns with water-related talents can cast this spell, and even then, it's still one of the hardest spells to cast, permanent or not."     "Wow, no wonder nopony could find Stephen, when even Princess Celestia herself couldn't even cast the spell necessary to find him.... Also, how do you plan to take books, paper, and ink underwater?"     "Then how could he possibly cast the spell?" Twilight wondered aloud, "I mean, according to this letter, he was only a young foal when he ran away... and about those books..I'll make them waterproof. That spell is actually really easy."    "The real question is, 'Why would he run away?' I'm sure a few ponies laughing at your cutie mark doesn't justify jumping in the ocean to live with seaponies."    "Spike, a Pony's cutie mark is what their life's purpose is. It's what you were meant to do. Making fun of something that you will have for the rest of your life can be very damaging for a foal. Especially if it's ponies  you are in contact with daily, which, from what I can tell is what happened here. Also, I'm sure it was more than a few ponies who felt like being jerks." Twilight explained as she levitated the saddlebags onto her back and started to walk to the door, opening it with her magic.     "By the way Twilight," Spike called just as she was about to step out the door,     "What?"    "You never answered me....how do you plan on getting to the bottom of the ocean?" He asked.    "Well.. do you remember that time I changed everybody into Breezies?"    "Wasn't there..." Spike sighed, resting his head on his hand and rolling his eyes.    "Oops......sorry." Twilight apologized, blushing slightly, "Anyway, when we all had to guide the Breezies back to their world, I had to turn all our friends into Breezies to help them. I think....if I can maybe get a look at one of those Seaponies, I may be able to cast that same transformation spell, and turn us all into Seaponies."    "Sounds good....but I still don't see how that's easier than a water-breathing spell."    "Me neither, but it does have many advantages." Twilight explained, "We could swim faster and be more agile in the water, whereas if we were just under a water-breathing spell, we'd still be swimming like horses." Twilight turned to walk out the door, but Spike interrupted her again.    "One more thing, Twilight." He said, sitting up.    "What, Spike?" Twilight practicality groaned.    "Can I come?" He asked, smiling at her.    "Sure, Spike." Twilight answered, smiling as Spike jumped out of his bed and rushed over to the door. The two then set off to find the rest of their friends. //-------------------------------------------------------// Meanwhile... //-------------------------------------------------------// Meanwhile...     Fluttershy trotted down to the beach, holding a little basket in her mouth, which, at the moment held Angel Bunny.     "Ah, the beach," she sighed, letting the breeze flow through her mane, "I'm sure we can find some good shells to decorate some of the new animal homes." She set down the basket down so Angel could jump out, and then stepped into the water. Immediately she found a conch shell and a few clams, so she picked them up and set them into the bag. Angel came back over with some shells a few minutes later, so he placed them into the basket as well. © ® © ® © ® © ® © ® © ® © ® © ® © ® © ® © ® © ® © ® © ® © ® © ® ©     Suddenly, Fluttershy saw something glittering a few feet out. She started flapping her wings until she was hovering directly above it.     "Wow.." She gasped. Sitting only about four feet below her was a glittering pearl, and a large one at that. Fluttershy lowered herself down a little, and reached down for the pearl, but just as she was about to grab it, something that looked like a yellow hoof mixed with a fish's fin grabbed it. "Eeep!!" She squeaked as the creature jumped out of the water a few feet away away.     "Mother of Pearl, another Pearl!" It said cheerfully, "This must be my lucky day!"     "Who are...... OMIGOSH ARE YOU A SEAPONY?!?!" Fluttershy almost screamed. Of course, floating right in front of her was a bright yellow Seapony with a slightly darker, but still almost neon mane with curious greenish spots on it. It had two fins protruding from the sides of its body, almost like her wings, and a long, scaly tail that ended in flukes, like a whales.     "Woah... Are you a Pegasus?" The Seapony tilted his head curiously, "I guess they're not a myth after all.... well...... there is...... but he isn't a Pegasus..... he's a Unicorn..."      "What........what's y-your n-name?" Fluttershy asked, trying to contain herself.      "SeaSponge  PonyPants!" He said joyfully, obviously not ashamed of that name, "So, what's YOUR name?" He asked, extending an arm that had a fin across the back of it.      "My name's Fluttershy!" She exclaimed, shaking his hoof, "I can't believe I'm meeting a real Seapony, I mean, nopony's ever met a Seapony before! It was always speculated that they could exist, but since only very few ponies can cast a water-breathing spell, I'm assuming that, anyway... Wow! I bet Twilight could turn me into a Seapony! She turned me into a Breezie once!"     "Wow! That sounds interesting....but, uhh... what's a Breezie?" He asked.     "Well....uhhh....is it okay if I just call you..um..Spongey?" She asked.     "Yeah, sure"    "Well, Spongey, Breezies are a very delicate.......well... they're kinda like these mini-ponies."    "Cooooool!" He said, drawing out the oo's, "I've never been another kind of thing before, but I sometimes wonder what it'd be like to be a Sea Sponge, I mean, it's in my name!" Fluttershy giggled a bit, then asked,     "You're funny, Spongey! But, um.... can you maybe help me find some seashells? I need some to decorate some of my animal's new houses."     "Sure! I've got the day off anyway!" He answered, before diving into the water and darting back to shore, and Fluttershy followed, muttering to herself excitedly as she flew slowly over.      As soon as she was back at the shore, she saw Angel sitting by a pile of shells, a proud look on his face. "Wow Angel, those are some nice shells!" Fluttershy exclaimed, looking over the shells, before scooping them all up with her wings and placed them carefully into the basket, then seeing another shell and leaning down to pick it up.     "Woah...what're you?" SeaSponge asked, looking curiously at Angel, who just glared back. Fluttershy looked up, holding a scallop shell in her mouth. She spat it out into the basket and answered,      "Angel is my Bunny Rabbit!" She informed him, and reached over to pet Angel, who just swatted away her hoof. "Say, Spongey....why were you so close to the shore anyway?"     "Well....I was just looking for pearls....speaking of which, do you want this back?" He pulled his hoof out of the water, still holding the pearl from before. "I found another one earlier, so you can have it if you want."     "Wow, really!?" Fluttershy reached out and grabbed the pearl, and just stared at it for a while, "Thank you.....this is so nice!"     "No problemo!" SeaSponge smiled, "Anyway, where was I? Oh yeah, I was looking for pearls with my friend Patrick when he said that the best pearls are near the shore....for some reason. Well, at first I didn't believe him, because, well, he's not usually too bright...but waddya know, he was right, I mean I found that one. After that I'm assuming he swam off because he was freaked out by you or something. Either that or whoever is telling this story just didn't want to mention him 'till we went underwater. And that certainly can't be true."     "Oh..ok.." Fluttershy said. "Wait a second...."     "What are you..." SeaSponge was cut off by Fluttershy shoving her hoof in his mouth, almost knocking out his two buck teeth.     "I think I can hear somepony coming!" Fluttershy whispered. She looked over to SeaSponge, who nodded. She removed her hoof from his mouth and leaned over to his ear, "Go back underwater. I'll see who's there, and if they're friends, I'll signal you to come out."      "Got it." And with that, the Seapony dived back into the ocean and Fluttershy took off, flying over the sand dunes to the entrance to the beach.     "So, we're supposed to go to a beach near Ponyville to catch criminals who escaped from Canterlot's prison?" Rainbow Dash asked as the five mares made their way across the sandy beach.     "Well, yes, but you have to understand that.... Fluttershy?! What are you doing here? We looked all over town and couldn't find you!" Twilight looked at the Pegasus as she landed right in front of her and the other four ponies.     "Well...I was looking for shells to decorate with, but..that doesn't really matter now!" Fluttershy shook her head and looked Twilight right in the eyes and said, "Twilight. I found something very important, and I need you...all of to see it, but you can't tell ANYPONY."     "Alrighty then, Flutters, lead the way!" Applejack said, trotting out from behind the others.     "Um..ok" Fluttershy said as she started to walk down to the water, everypony else following. Once they arrived, Fluttershy turned around and looked at the others with the same intensity as before, "Now, when I show you this, please don't freak out, you may scare him."     "Him?" Rarity questioned.     "HIM?!" Pinkie screamed, "Can we throw this HIM a party?!"     "Um.....no, Pinkie." Fluttershy said, looking out to the ocean.     "Why nawwwt...??" Pinkie whined.     "We're about to see, Pinkie." Twilight looked at Fluttershy and nodded.     "Ok..." Fluttershy inhaled deeply, "SeaSponge!!! Come on out!!!" //-------------------------------------------------------// What is that. //-------------------------------------------------------// What is that.     "Who or what is SeaSponge?" Twilight asked Fluttershy, who just looked out at the water. Suddenly, ripples appeared on the surface of the water and the neon yellow Seapony jumped up in the air.     "Tadaaa!!" He sung, before falling back into the water, splashing everypony.     "IS THAT A SEAPONY!?" Spike yelled, right into Twilight's ear, "DIDN'T PRINCESS-"     "Yes Spike! The letter said we were supposed to go into this ocean.....the same one where there were supposed Seaponies." Twilight sighed, "I just didn't think it would be this easy to find one!"      "Wh-what do you mean?" Fluttershy asked, defensively stepping in front of SeaSponge.      "Darling, Princess Celestia sent us here to protect a city of Seaponies from poachers." Rarity explained. Fluttershy relaxed as Pinkie ran in front over her,      "Twilight also needed to find a Seapony so she could turn us into Seaponies!" Pinkie yelled in her face. Fluttershy squeed and screeched,     "Twilight! Can you really turn me into a Seapony??"     "Yes Fluttershy, but you have to understand we have a mission here, to protect the city. Not to have fun being a Seapony." Twilight explained.     "Got it." SeaSponge looked over at Twilight,      "That city must be my home, Saddle Bottom!" He said cheerfully, before his face fell in concern, "It's not in danger, is it?"     "Well, we can't say 'till we try to help, can we?" Applejack said, stepping into the water, "Everypony into the water, and Twilight, do yer magic!" And with that, Twilight's horn lit up and shot a beam that hit everypony....    "Wha.....what?" Fluttershy was the last to awaken. She rubbed her eyes in an attempt to clear her blurry vision, only to realize she didn't have hooves anymore! Or at least, not the same ones. "OH MY GOSH! TWILIGHT I'M A.....Wow..." Fluttershy surveyed the rest of the Mane 6, only to find that they too had grown long, scaley tails and fins all over their bodies.     "Oh! I am absolutely beautiful!" Rarity said as she spun in circles, looking at her new tail.     "Now girls, remember, we have a mission!" Twilight reminded the awestruck ponies, who were all at the moment admiring their new bodies, especially Spike, who seemed to have turned into more of a Seadragon type of creature.     "Twilight's right!" SeaSponge exclaimed, "We've got to beat the evil ponies to Saddle Bottom!"      "Lead the way, Seapony!" yelled Pinkie, swimming over to SeaSponge, who started out into the ocean. The rest of the Mane 6 followed, each having a different level of initial "Swimming as a Seapony" skill.      After a few hours, the ponies finally made it to a small island. It was mostly covered with bushes, with two palm trees sticking out of the middle. On the beach, however, was a huge boat and a few Pegasi who were grabbing a huge net and preparing to put it in the water.     "Get down!" SeaSponge hissed, diving underwater. The Mane 6 followed, except for Twilight, who was trying to teleport the net away, but failing to do so.     "Argg......How come this isn't working?" Twilight grumbled to herself as she kept up the attempts. Eventually, Spike realized she wasn't with them, so he swam back up and yanked Twilight under the water.     "Twilight, don't you remember how the Princess's letter said that these ponies had the highest technology?" Spike asked. When Twilight nodded, he continued, "I think they used it to enchant those nets so they can't be affected by magic!"      "That's only going to make this mission so much harder...." Twilight sighed as she swam deeper and deeper, only barely able to see the others, due to the fact that she was so far behind, "HEY!! How can we talk underwater??" Twilight looked at Spike, who only shrugged (as best as he could with the new bone structure in his arms)  Noticing she still had her saddlebags on, Twilight used her magic to open it up and grab the waterproof paper and quill and she started to jot stuff down.     "HERE WE ARE!!" //-------------------------------------------------------// Welcome to Saddle Bottom! //-------------------------------------------------------// Welcome to Saddle Bottom!     "Woah!" Rainbow Dash gasped as she swam around a few structures, some giant coral statues of Seaponies, some huge buildings carved out of boulders rocks.     "Oohh!" Pinkie swam around for a bit, but then looked confused. "Where are the rest of the seaponies?" she asked.    "They must be inside their houses." Twilight suggested, a bit too optimistically.    "Or worse...." SeaSponge flattened his ears against his head "They might've been captured while I was gone!!" The yellow seapony squeaked and swam in circles, yelling about how he failed everypony, when another pink seapony swam over.    "SeaSponge?!! Is that you?!" He chirped. SeaSponge stopped swimming around and gasped.   "Patrick! You're all right!" He cried and hugged the larger seapony, "Wait...where is everypony?!"   "The seem to have hidden themselves..." he smiled like an idiot, "I never did 'coz I was lookin' for ya..."   "Aww...Thanks buddy!"   "Ah hate 't interrupt yer cute little reunion, but we've got company...." Applejack pointed out into the distance. A group of ponies with scuba gear and what looked like mini harpoons was swimming towards the empty city. Fluttershy squeaked and hid behind Rarity, who gulped nervously.     "Those must be the poachers..."    "I'll get 'em!!" Rainbow tried to take off in the direction of the approaching ponies, but Twilight stopped her by grabbing her tail and holding it in place with magic.    "Rainbow, we need to hide somewhere before they find us..then we'll try to formulate a plan.." Twilight explained, "Let's hide in that rock over there." All eight seaponies swam into the caves and crevices of the rock Twilight was talking about. A few minutes later, the poachers swam by the boulders, causing the ponies to hold their breath in fear. As they left, Spike breathed a sigh of relief, causing a warm current to shoot out of the rock. Twilight's eyes widened and she clapped a hoof over his mouth, but she was too late.    "Aha!" One of the poachers felt the current and turned around and reached his hoof into the cave. He grabbed Spike, and before the little seadragon could react, he pulled Spike out of the cave, put a clamp over his mouth, and shoved him in a net. Rainbow couldn't hold herself back anymore, and before anyone could stop her, she flung herself at the pony who was holding Spike. He jumped out of the way, allowing his friend to step in to catch Rainbow in a net.     "Ok..." The Twilight whispered, trying to stay calm, "On three, we all jump out and try to get Spike and Rainbow free." The others nodded and Twilight prepared to jump out "One....two....THREE!" Everybody swam out of the cave as fast as they could, taking the poachers by surprise. They tackled the poachers and took their harpoons.     "Gotcha!" Rainbow yelled as she freed herself and held down one of the nearby ponies.     "Get off of me!" He screamed, "OR ELSE!!"     "Or else what?" Rainbow asked sarcastically.     "I'll call the rest of us...." He smirked, a lot calmer, "However, if you let me go...I'll go all the way back to the island and tell them there..."     "Rainbow, don't!" Applejack warned her, but Rainbow had made up her mind.     "Fine..." Rainbow stepped away. The second she did, he jumped up and kicked Rainbow in the chest. "Oof!" She gasped and fell down. As everypony turned to see what was happening, the rest of the poachers threw themselves off and swam away as fast as they could. SeaSponge jumped up as well and was about to swim after them, but Twilight stopped him.     "Let them go..we need as much time as possible to get everypony safe.." She said, and almost on cue, a few seaponies stuck their heads out of huge rocks and coral. There were a lot less then the Mane 6 thought there would be.      "Oh no...." Rarity flattened her ears sadly, "Some of them must have been taken already..." Rainbow finally got up and looked around.      "Wow..." She walked over to one of the seaponies, who pulled his head back into the rock timidly "Where are the rest of you guys?"      "RAINBOW!" Twilight hissed angerly, "They've all been TAKEN!"      "Uh....oh...um....s-sorry...." Rainbow's cheeks reddened with embarrassment "I forgot.....WELL WE STILL HAVE TO FIND A WAY TO RESCUE THEM TWILIGHT!!!"      "Ok...yes...we do." Twilight looked at the Mane 6 and the seaponies, who were starting to come out. "Here's the plan...first, we get all of you guys to safety. Second, some of us lure the poachers away from the captive ponies.....they probably haven't been killed yet because their scales dry out quickly and need to be put in a special liquid immediately..and I doubt they brought that stuff with them. Third, the rest of us go free the captured seaponies."     "Nice." Rainbow smiled excitedly.
