Chapter 1

Ugh I don't know how I can put up with this everyday. thought Chrysalis as she wrote plans on a paper she saved after her fail attempt to take over Equestria. I just wished there was a different way to feed my kingdom. She then put down her quill and looked over her changelings struggling to survive. She then called one of her soldiers over.

"Do you need anything ma'm?" ask the soldier.

"No nothing but how much food do we have left? You know just curious." asked Chrysalis.

"We have enough to survive for two weeks." replied the soldier. He then started to leave until Chrysalis stopped him and asked.

"Can we eat more today because I think some of us wont make it through the night."

"But ma'm then we can only make it through 1 week probably even less." replied the soldier with concern.

"It's just only one day." complained Chrysalis, "Then if my changelings aren't going to get more food then they can have mine."

"My queen I understand you care for your subjects but you should know you need your strength for our next attack."

"So does my subjects, look you don't understand on how i feel! You know what, just leave I don't need you right now!" she yelled at him.

He then started to leave until he stopped and said "I'm sorry i had this conversation with you," then left her there. Tears then came down her cheek and cried softly to herself.

She then said to herself, "I'm sorry i'm a failure as a queen my subjects. If only he's with me." She then wiped her tears and walked over to the spot she usually is in. Which is under a dead tree with no vegetation.

She remember this place, this is where she and a spike played. Spike is a changeling she used to play with. He looked like any other changeling but he has a pair of orange goggles. She remembered it all like it was just yesterday both of them playing, eating Apples, making each other laugh. They were like any other kids but they weren't suppose to, it was their own law changelings with high ranks isn't suppose to communicate with lower ranks.

"Hey Chrysalis when you become queen will we still be friends and hangout?" asked Spike.

"Of course you know what when I become queen I will banish the law from our kingdom." replied Chrysalis.

"Our?" asked Spike a bit confused. Chrysalis then realized what she said and started to blush.

"You know what I mean you standing next to me and helping me with the kingdom. You know if you want it's up to." replied Chrysalis still blushing.

Spike then hugged her and said, "Of course I will. You know me, wanting to help others." he then released from his hug.

"Yay, but you got to promise me you will not change who you are." said Chrysalis.

"You can count on that." he said and winked, which made Chrysalis blush.

After years went by Chrysalis started to change which made her more mean and grumpy. One time she scared everyone in the entire kingdom. The more she became grumpy the less she spent with Spike. Until she stopped even visiting him. At one point she even stopped talking to him. But when the Canterlot wedding happened and got blasted back home she never saw him again because he flew the other direction. When she landed and saw the wasteland and Spike not by her side she knew she messed up. Now she will never see her friend again, she have regret everything she has done.

Now all that leads up today. So she sat at the tree and fell asleep.
