//-------------------------------------------------------// An Infinite Sparkle -by EB Creations- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Funeral //-------------------------------------------------------// Funeral -Several Days Before the Funeral- I write this letter to you whilst tears roll down my cheeks. I would like to inform you that sadly, Twilight Sparkle has moved on to greener pastures. I was sweeping the floors of the library, and once I finished, I went to see Twilight, but while I was outside of her room I was trying to hear something, anything. Eventually I knocked on the door but after not getting a response for the third time I tried to go in, but the door was locked so I burnt it open.     When I got in there, I searched for Twilight and found her limp and pale on the balcony with a book by her side.     I didn't find much more except this golden box that is attached with this letter. There was a note note adhered to it stating "Only Princess Celestia Shall Open." It breaks my heart to have to send this to you.      Your’s Truly, "Spike" Celestia finished the last word in tears. She looked at the shining box sent with it, and opened it. Concealed inside were two pieces of paper, one a pristine white and another an older piece of parchment. -Day of the Funeral-     Twilight was laying in a polished red oak casket with velvety cushioning, dressed in a silky black gown, pearls hanging from her withers and poked into her ears. Rarity, of course, wanted her to be comfortable and fashionable when she went below the gravel. Spike touched the wood as he sat in the mourner’s room. It was cold, but had that warmth from his memories of Twilight’s unconditional love. He sighed. “How could I ever find someone to love me like you had?” His tone crackled. “I feel so… alone…” Spike looked at Twilight’s face, frozen for eternity. She had a faint smile, her front legs crossed. “Why did you… leave me?” he said, and broke into short sobs. “We don’t realize just how much we love somepony until they are no longer with us, now do we?” said a familiar voice from behind him. Spike sniffled, and turned. Rarity stood behind him. “Rarity…” he said, and ran to her, hugging her closely. She slowly hushed him, and stroked his back. “It’s okay…” Spike pressed deeper into the mare’s soft white fur. “It’s not fair…” Rarity dabbed her eyes with a handkerchief as she continued to run her hoof down his scales, calming him down. “I know, sweetie.” she said as she looked into his eyes. “But this is--” “Life.” came a southern accented voice. Applejack and the rest stood behind them. “Hey, Spike…” said Rainbow Dash, as she rubbed her withers. Spike was silent, as he turned to the casket. “I… don’t even… know…” he said. “THIS IS THE WORST PARTY EVER!!!” he heard Pinkie Pie wail. Fluttershy shushed Pinkie. “Stop, you’re being loud…” she whispered. "But, but..." Pinkie stopped her whimpers as a hoof came over her mouth. "No more being loud, alright?" and as soon as she got a nod from Pinkie she lifted her hoof off. “We best get our seats.” Rarity said. “Do you wish to come, Spike?" Spike nodded, and Rarity walked with the dragon to their seats in the front row of the chapel. "We have all been gathered here today as to witness the funeral of a heroin, the Element of Harmony, a Princess, Student-of-Honor, and dear friend, Twilight Sparkle.” said the preacher pony. “It is unfortunate to see her go, but we all can conclude that she rests in a better place now.” Pinkie’s whimpers could be heard next to Spike. “Princess Celestia would like to read a poem.” he called out. The white mare stood up and solemnly walked to the podium. She stood behind the microphone, and wiped her tears away with a tissue. She cleared her throat. “Her name was Twilight Sparkle, She wore a golden crown. She just had become a princess, Her powers bright and strong. But she has decided to leave us, and move along. We truly will miss her sweet face, but her time had came. And as the glowing angels come by, I know we can’t meet again. So I bid you my very last farewell, my dear princess, student, and friend.” Celestia stepped down and walked away, her head low to the ground, in tears. She sat back down next to Luna and looked to her sister for a supporting embrace. Luna held her older sister as she silently sobbed. The preacher walked back up. “Spike?” he asked, waiting for someone to come up. Spike slowly mumbled and got out of his seat, walking up to the podium. “In life Twilight was a friend to many, to her best friends, which, no matter what problem came up they would work together and solve it, from solving national emergencies, to solving a simple misunderstanding. “She was a friend to her mentor, which had helped her grow and prosper, and even though when she became an alicorn, and she was told that she was equal to her mentor, she always held a high respect for them. “However and although most would call our relationship as mother and son, or sister and brother, to me, Twilight was a friend. “Twilight was a friend to most, and as we mourn over her death, just remember that she has moved onto a better place, that we will all eventually rejoin her in the afterlife.” With that Spike stepped down from the podium and walked back towards his seat, as the preacher stepped back up to the podium to call another pony up to the podium. //-------------------------------------------------------// Prolouge //-------------------------------------------------------// Prolouge I find myself drifting into a rather strange feeling of numbness and feel like I am slowly drifting into unconsciousness, but nothing like I have experienced before. I faintly remember a book about what it felt in those last grasps of life, and I related it to my situation. I barely caught a glimpse of the place I had called home for so many years. I gasped, then my vision faded and all I could see was darkness. --A few hours later-- "Twilight! Hey, Twi?" Spike called through the quiet castle. He entered the library and looked around, searching for his faithful master. "Well, I guess I'll go look in her room. I mean, I've pretty much looked everywhere else…" Spike said, his curiosity being replaced with a small hint of worry. As Spike started towards Twilights room, he tried to see if he could hear the crisp sound of Twilight turning a page in her spell book, or the faint sparkling sound of her using her magic. Granted, he rarely could hear it, but he still perked his ears to see. He heard nothing, and bone-chilling silence filled the air. He knocked, nervously biting his lip. "Twi?" He asked, breaking the silence, only for it to have repaired itself moments after. He knocked again, getting no response. He then slowly reached for the doorknob, only realizing that it was locked. He then burned the door, and hopped through the cave he had made to enter. "Twilight?" He said. He scanned the room, and skimmed past the balcony, seeing a blob laying there. Paying little attention to it, he looked towards the closet, but then shook his head and looked back at the balcony. There lay his lavender master. "Twilight!" He yelled, as he waddled to her. She lay limp and cold. Spike checked her pulse with a monitor, and dreaded the result. There was no life left in the princess. Tears rolled down his cheeks, getting caught on his scales and dripping off of his checks like a wet leaf. He pulled out some parchment paper, and began to write. Dear Princess Celestia…
