Locker Room
In the Locker Room
Load Full StoryIt was the one day a year Soarin could actually enjoy, the one day a year his boss wouldn't yell at him for not being at work. It was Soarin's day off.
Soarin had this day planned for months now, it had to be perfect. Perfect as in visiting every pie shop that he could. There was only one damper on his plan.
He left the map in the locker room.
"Buck." he said aloud walking down the corridor towards the locker room. While the locker room may have smelled like a dead skunk and sweat it was the only place where a member of the academy could keep their daily possessions aside from the compact barracks they were given.
A small metallic, light banging sound could be heard from where his locker was located. Who's in the locker rooms now? The cadets should be in training by now. Soarin wondered to himself as he rounded the corner into the locker room.
"Hello?" he said upon entering and switching the light on.
"Ah!" said a voice as the lights flickered on.
"Thunderlane? What are you doing here?"
"O-oh, n-nothing at all sir!" he said as he saluted his commanding officer.
"At ease, but do you want to tell me what you were doing?"
"Nothing...?" Thunderlane said sheepishly.
"No, I mean tell me what you were really doing." Soarin said sensing the lie in the tone of Thunderlane's voice.
"W-well I was kind of dropping a note off..."
"A note? For whom?" Soarin said bewildered.
"For you, s-sir."
"For me? I thought you knew all messages were-"
"I know, I know, all messages, letters, or documents of any kind have to be put in your mail box but this is kind of... personal to say the least." Thunderlane said, a slight warmth making it's way into his face. "It's best if you just read it yourself."
At this point, Soarin didn't know what to make of the situation. A note for him? Personal? "Alright then, may I have the note?"
"It's in your locker, sir." Thunderlane said again letting a warmth work it's way into his face.
That must be what the sound was then, and why is he blushing so much? Soarin thought as he reached for the lock on his locker.
"9-1-3" Thunderlane said with a grin.
"How did you..."
"Let's just say I've been watching you from a far." Thunderlane said with a deepened tone.
"Thunderlane! How dare-"
"Read the note and you'll understand." Thunderlane said, starting to get annoyed.
Soarin then continued to open the locker to find a red envelope with a... Heart sticker?
"Thunderlane..."
"Read it, please." Begged a puppy eyed Thunderlane
Damn, something about his eyes always gets me. Soarin thought to himself as he opened the letter. Inside was a carefully written letter, it read;
Dear Soarin,
I know this probably is gonna come out the wrong way for you but I beg that you don't take this the wrong way. As you probably know by now I have been eying you ever since the second day in the academy. Your toned wings really define you, they go good with your sleek athletic body. Your muscles have always gotten me going, that's why you see my wings quivering so much when you're around. I was never afraid like Fleetfoot always said I was. I was in love with you, Soarin. If you don't swing your door my way, just pretend this never happened, please. I'll know if you just ignore it and move on.
Yours truly,
Thunderlane.
