Please don't stop the music
"MAKE SOME NOISE PARTY PONIES!" Yelled DJ Pon3 into the mic. The crowd's deafening roar got louder. DJ stood in the spotlight enjoying her attention. But some pony stared at her from the back of the club. Octavia gave a sigh of longing. She felt her body tense as something crept up behind her.
"Boo!" Derpy's voice cried from behind her. Octavia groaned, and turned around to see the cross-eyed mare behind her. Derpy's real name was "Bright Eyes" But she disliked it, so every pony called her "Derpy".
"Derpy, for the last time. The 'boo' Thing doesn't scare me." Octavia snapped at Derpy. Derpy shrugged and slid next to Octavia.
"Sooo... What'cha doin'?" Asked Derpy, swaying on her hooves. Octavia gave another sigh.
"It would be hard for you to understand Derpy." Octavia sighed. Derpy began to observe Octavia closely, to find out what bothered her. Finally Derpy found out where Tavi was looking. Derpy's face scrunched up with delight as she gave a little gasp.
"Are you checking out DJ!?" Derpy asked excitedly. Octavia's face turned red, and she slammed her hoof to Derpy's mouth.
"Shuuuuuush! I don't want any pony to hear that-" Octavia came to a stop as Derpy's smile widened.
"Uh, I mean... Thats not true Derpy." She snapped, her face turing as red as a tomato. Just then she felt the presence of another pony behind her.
"Octavia? What in Equestria are you doing in a club?" Came the voice of Neon Lights. Octavia spun around to face the pail blue stallion. Her had a bow tie on for an unknown reason. Octavia adjusted her own bow tie, nervously.
"OH! Well I just thought I'd stop by, catch a few tunes!" Octavia answered with a nervous laugh. Neon lifted an eyebrow but went along with it.
Just then the music stopped. Octavia glanced at DJ Pon3's DJ set.
"Okay everypony! Club closes to the public in five minuets! Last song here!" Yelled DJ Pon3. The crowd yelled in delight, as the fastest and most up-beat song of the night began to blast through the speakers. Neon Lights nudged Octavia in the side with his elbow.
"Good luck trying to get to her before the place closes." Neon whispered. Octavia flushed.
"How- wha-" Octavia sputtered. Neon gave a small grin, his un-nessasary glasses flashing in the strobe lights.
"I just know some things, Octi." He said quietly and slipped into the crowd. Octavia turned to Derpy, and she nodded hyperly. Octavia took a deep breath, and began to make her way towards DJ. She was almost there when DJ called into her mic;
"Thats all for tonight foals! See some of ya tomorrow night!" DJ called. The music stopped and Octavia felt defeated. Ponies began to flood out of the club like water. After they were all gone and DJ began to pack her things, Octavia cleared her throat.
"Please don't stop the music. I was enjoying myself." Octavia stammered. DJ (now known as "Vinyl Scratch" now that she was no longer preforming) stopped eruptively and glanced down from her DJ set.
"Tavi? What are you doing here? I thought you didn't like clubs. Meeting up with some friends?" Vinyl asked, cocking her head to the side. Octavia turned red and rubbed her neck.
"Uh, well... I-I came here to talk to you, actually." Octavia stammered. Vinyl took off her glasses, revealing bright ruby eyes underneath. Octavia began to feel lost in the shiny eyes of Vinyl. She shook herself back into reality.
"I-I Never saw you perform before, and I have to agree you sound... Uh... 'Wubbly'." Octavia finished, glad she remembered the pun she came up with. Vinyl raised her eyebrow, and gave a smile. Octavia felt her face grow warmer by the second.
"Gee, thanks Tavi. But I know thats not the real reason you came here." Vinyl laughed as she saw Octavia flushed.
"I...I..." Tavi sputtered before hanging her head in defeat. She gave a shaky breath before the dam broke.
"I Have feelings for you Vinyl! I've always had! I tried to conceal it, but I can't! I really like you!" Octavia screamed. Tears of embarrassment streamed down her cheeks. Even though It was hard to say, It did feel good to finally get it off her chest. Vinyl's eyes widened, and her jaw opened a little bit. She stepped of her DJ stand, and came closer to Octavia. She gave that crooked mischievous smile that Octavia loved about her.
"I guess its a good thing I'm pansexual now is it, hmm?" Asked Vinyl playfully as she flicked her tail at Tavi's nose. Octavia gave gasp of shock.
"W-what? Are you serious?" Octavia asked, not believing what Vinyl was talking about. Vinyl gave a wink.
"Of course Im serious. You're a great girl. Im willing to give it a shot." Vinyl said with a laugh. Vinyl, looked at her DJ set.
"There's a few large empty cabinets over there. Im sure no one would bother us there... Vinyl said, her face turning into a mischievous smile. Octavia felt her face go red again.
"W-wha- NOW? HERE!?" Octavia squawked, staring at the white unicorn in shock. Vinyl laughed.
"I won't take it too far, I promise." Vinyl said with a grin.
"Maybe somewhere a bit more private?" Octavia asked, turning to the door. Vinyl laughed again.
"Maybe my place?" Vinyl asked. A flushed Octavia nodded. But then Vinyl gave that smile again.
"How 'bout a quick kiss before we go?"
