First story I've ever attempted to write for this site, please feel to give some advice, and enjoy!
Arrival
Simon has successfully defeated the Anti-Spirals, saved his home and ensured a safe future for his friends, but at what cost? He was all alone now, with nobody to care for him. Everything he ever loved, had slipped away, leaving him to roam the world unsatisfied. Why? Why was I the one left alive? He gripped onto the wedding ring hanging from his neck, and resumed walking. Suddenly a beam of light appeared before him, tearing apart the trees and the land before him, unable to control his curiosity, he foolishly steps into the light, knocking him unconscious.
Nia's eyes opened, and found herself in a beautiful forest surrounded with animals, flowers and lively trees. A bright blue sky above with thousands of clouds, birds sang and she could hear the pond near her splash around as the fish swam happily. She was too busy admiring her surroundings and didn't notice a particular animal in front of her. "E-excuse me, um w-who are you?"
Her face lit up and with a big smile, gave the yellow pony a nice cozy hug, she didn't even question why the pony had wings, as she'd seen stranger things before. "So cute!" she screamed with her arms wrapped around the shy pony. She finally let go of the pony and looked into her eyes, "Are there more of you? Oh sorry, I should introduce myself! I'm Nia Teppelin, what's your name?"
The yellow pony blushed greatly, but strangely didn't feel shy around Nia, "I'm Fluttershy, and yes, there are lots more of us, come with me I can show you to my friends, I'm sure they'd love to meet you. Maybe after I can show you to my animal friends too!" Fluttershy smiled and showed Nia the way to Ponyville.
Simon woke up, he quickly realized something was wrong, he was falling straight down into the floor. Panicking, he threw his arms around expecting him to somehow gain the ability to fly. Strangely enough, he realized that he was no longer falling to his death and was on the back of a flying object, he let out a sigh of relief and laid on the small cyan... thing.
The cyan creature landed on the ground, dropped Simon to the floor, and faced him. "What in the hay were you thinking?! Why were you so high up in the sky if you don't even know how to fly? I've seen some crazy stunts, but that was by far the craziest, good thing my awesomeness was there in time to catch you!"
Catching his breath, he looked up and smiled, "Thanks for that, err..."
"The name's Rainbow Dash! Best flier in Equestria!" she flew up into the sky and did a couple of small quick flips.
Simon rubbed his head, "Right... well thanks." Simon started to walk away, hoping to just go and continue his journey, pretending like this never happened.
"Hey! Wait!" Rainbow bit onto Simon's shirt trying to prevent him from leaving. "I need to show you to my friends! I gotta tell them how I just saved your life, and they won't believe me if you're not there!"
She *really** likes to brag. Well, why not, I don't even know where I am so I might as well ask around when she brings me to her friends.* Simon sighed and nodded, the two began walking down the path to Ponyville.
I know, I suck at writing Apple Jack. That's kind of why I don't really want to include her much til later.
Touching Reunion
Twilight was studying in the library when somepony knocked on her door, she asked Spike to go answer it, when she heard Fluttershy's voice she quickly stopped her studies and walked towards the door. "Fluttershy, how are you? Do you need anything, I'm kind of studying." she said with an innocent smile.
Fluttershy felt guilty for interrupting her studies, but she had to introduce Twilight to her new friend no matter what! She brought up her courage, and in a voice softer than a whisper, "Sorry, but I wanted to show you my new friend Nia."
Twilight's eyebrow perked up as she quickly looked behind Fluttershy, "A human!? Princess Celestia said there hasn't been humans for generations! We've even lost pretty much, everything left behind by humans, we don't even have history books about humans, no documents, no artifacts, nothing! Fluttershy, how did you meet her?"
Fluttershy was obviously a bit confused, "I was in the Everfree forest tending to some of the animals when I saw her laying on the ground, I t-thought she was just an animal I haven't seen before, so I approached her. She was very nice, and I thought everypony would love to meet her."
"That's great! Come in, I have lots to ask!" she turned around and saw Pinkie Pie bouncing about the room, "Pinkie? How did you get- oh forget it."
"Twilight! Look, look! There's a new pony in town!" She pointed her hoof at Nia with a giant smile.
"Yeah Pinkie, I kind of figured that out already, and she's not a pony, she's a human. A species thought to be extin-" she was quickly cut off by Pinkie Pie rushing towards the door and shaking Nia's hand.
"I have to throw a great big, giant, universal, mind blowing welcome party for you! Oh! I'll go get the others! Twilight quickly, we have to get the balloons inflated before the other one gets here!" Pinkie ran out the door, and searched for the rest of her closest friends.
"Oh Pinkie, I'll never understand you, as I was saying, come in, please make yourself at home."
"So, hey what are you? You don't look like anypony I've seen." Rainbow Dash floated through the air flapping her wings slowly.
"What am I? Well I guess the easiest thing to say is that I'm a human, but there's plenty more to it that you don't have to worry about."
"Why do you have a ring around your neck? Are you married? I thought only Unicorns used rings for marriage."
Simon stopped and held the ring in his hand, "I gave this to a special girl, but shortly after, she... disappeared. I hold onto this to give me motivation."
The next few minutes were silent, Rainbow, feeling bad for asking, finally broke the silence, "Hey! I'll show you to Twilight, I'm sure she'll know what to do with you, since you seem kind of lost." They arrived at Twilight's door, Rainbow didn't bother to knock, instead she just forced the door to open, without breaking it, of course. "Twilight! Come here, look what I found!"
Twilight removed herself from the others to answer, "Rainbow, don't you knock? Well, what did you find?" she looked up and saw a towering man behind Rainbow Dash, "Another human, amazing! Come in, the others are here, come meet them Mr. Human!"
"Well howdy there, ah'm Apple Jack, be sure to come visit Sweet Apple Acres if yer ever looking for some work."
"Oh my, that outfit is so ragged, it makes you look so fierce, so dangerous, so... lovely! Come, dear I'm Rarity, please come visit if you ever need a new outfit, and in return I can study your lovely outfit and incorporate it's style into some of my outfits, surely everypony will love it!"
Nia sat in her chair drinking some freshly made tea, she glanced over and waved, "Hi, dear."
