The Tail of Blue Ember Vol.1
It was I who started the fire
If I remember correctly it was a Wednesday, a few months after i trued five he said
"Hay boy, I have to tell you something. your mother she-" he stopped, at the time i assumed he stopped so i couldn't smell the alcohol from his breath, but now i think back and see only the pain aching in his eyes and his head hanging low just to look back up at me and say,
"She became a Unicorn." with a wide smile on his face, I asked when she would be back and he said that he didn't know, that a princess with long hair and a white pelt took her, I knew who he was talking about and my ears perked up jumping in my bed celebrating wail my dad sat a broken pony. I stopped and noticed my dad trying not to sob as he looked down, i gave him a big hug and said,
"Don't you fret dad, well see here again some day." yeah.... "'...well see here again some day."' that was me a stupid mar with no common seance. My father moved us from place to place, first a Bakery, to a Restaurant, and finally, fourteen years later, to a library called The Ember Library, i spent year writing and reading on fire magic, my father took notice and watched me from time to time when i wasn't looking until one day he confronted me about it.
"Magic expectantly fire magic is vary dangerous son as a pony you shouldn't even be able to do it, be happy you know and give up wail you are ahead and not on fire." he was vary stern then again he was bitter ever since that day. we argued about it for weeks going back and forward every time I was cough practicing tell one day he figured out that he wouldn't be able to stop me he always liked to say,
"Well if your gunna' be stupid, I might as well stick around and laugh at you when you hurt yourself." I knew he was there to watch over me because i was the only thing he had left and he was the only thing I had left... tell one day, I was visited by a cloud of purple in the night by my bed. They nudged me awake and a voice made of the finest silk spoke to me about knowing where my mother was,
"Blue, darling, do you want to help your mother? I know where she is." she looked into my eyes in the night with hers I felt compelled to say yes, although I never talked to anyone aside from my father i seemed to trust her she motioned me to go toward her so she could whisper to me.
"but you are going to have to trust me," she formed a purple ball in the air "Do you want to get your mother back?" she asked promising something i knew to be to good to be true, I nodded anyway, the ball fell onto me engorging me in purple goo, it seeped into every poor and hole in my body, I felt sick Blue spots appeared on my pelt, helpless I laid on the ground twitching feeling everything buzzing and hearing ringing in my ear so loud it made them bleed, I forced myself to push off the ground and make my way to the center of the library my father sitting at the desk and looking at a picture of our family when it was hole, all of us, happy to the point where we could be homeless and still be the richest people in the world, he smiled at the picture for a wile and shed a tear before noticing me
"Oh hay boy, can't slee-" I burst into a ball of flame, as it spread swallowing the shelf and books my father looked at me disheartened
and galloped to me like when we use to race when i was a kid, he ran though the flames and made it to me his skin bubbling as his eyes close holding me tightly, whispering
"you... will always... b-be my Boy Blue......" i hugged him back as the fire died down by then, all i had was a pile of ash coating me. falling to my knees I know i have nothing left in this world or any other... the only thing that was left was the end of the sign it said Ember.. and from then on my name has been Blue Ember.
