Grey Flame's backstory

Grey came from a small family and after his mother passed away, the only family he had was his little brother. After a night of drinking, Grey was walking home with Taz (little brother who was 5 years younger than grey). As they were walking home, Grey hears a small cry, it was a mare who was in trouble. "H-hey, Taz, did you hear that?" Grey asked his brother. "Hear what?" Taz said, "I heard something, it was a scream or something, we should go check it out" "are you sure you know what you heard?" Asked Taz, but with a little bit more worried. "I know what I heard, I'm not that drunk come on" Grey runs towards the sound and he what he heard was proven right, it was a mare. But this mare was a very familiar face, "FLUTTERSHY" Grey yelled out. After that the band of stallions who were gathering around her turned towards Grey, "if you know what's good for you, you'll turn around and walk home" said one of the stallions. "I'm not gonna let you hurt her, I'll kill you if I have to" Said grey, "Grey, get back here" yelled Taz, "Taz just go home, I've got this" "you've been like this ever since mom died, just come back" Taz tried to reason with Grey. "I'm not leaving until I see that Fluttershy is safe, no one hurts her and gets away with it" Grey stood his ground "if you think you're so tough, just try something, we dare you" one of the gang members charged at grey, but all those years of learning how to fight from his dad grey easily threw him to the ground and he was out cold. "I may be drunk, but I can still fight" Grey stands in his hind legs "just try me" as the gang is distracted by grey, Fluttershy has the chance to slip away from the commotion and runs off. Grey sees this and fights off another stallion. "What did I tell you" Grey stood with pride. "GREY, HELP ME!!" Yelled Taz, as he turned around grey saw a sight he wouldn't wish on his worst enemy, one the the gang had Taz pinned down with their hoof on his neck. "You let him go right now or I swear I'll kill you" Grey was furious. "Just try anything and he's as good as dead" threatened the obvious leader of the group. "Let him go, he's not a part of this" "yes but neither were you, but good little two hooves just had to step in" said the leader, "I wasn't going to let you hurt Fluttershy, now you're treading on thin ice, let my brother go, or with celestia as my witness I will kill you"In that moment grey was tackled to the ground "ARRGGH, let me go you good for nothing bastard" Grey tried to get out of the tight grip the gang member had on him. "Now" said the leader "let's show our friend here what happens when you show up uninvited" he pressed down on taz's neck "Grey, *choke* grey help me" "NO, Don't you dare" grey kept trying to get of the tight grip. Finally, a loud *SNAP* Taz wasn't moving anymore. "NOOO" "you goody goody ponies are all the same, pin him down and he's got nothing left" "ILL FUCKING KILL YOU FOR THIS" grey captor let's him go and he runs towards where Taz was laying on the ground and tears form and run down his cheeks, "Taz, no, please Taz wake up, *sobs* please don't leave me buddy, I don't want to lose you too" the gang leaves "I swear Taz, I'll kill them all" he keeps crying in the same spot until another pony comes behind him "h-hey, umm, s-sir?" Grey quickly snaps back still crying "what do you wa...oh it's you" he sees Fluttershy who didn't see Taz until grey turned towards her. "Is, is he..." As grey turns back to his brother "I'm so sorry Taz, I shouldn't have brought you into this" as grey holds his brother "I'm sorry" Fluttershy says to Grey, "it's not your fault, it's my fault, if I wasn't drunk then he would still be at home, playing his little games" still holding Taz, grey sobs quietly into his coat. "You're drunk right now?" "I am, but it's not as bad as you think, I can still see clearly and move just fine, I'm inly buzzed really, but I'm still stupid for having him with me" Fluttershy puts her hoof on grey's back "I'm really sorry for your loss, I know how it feels to lose somepony you love, or in my case some animal" Fluttershy tried to comfort grey, but he didn't show any signs of letting his brother out of his grasp "grey? Is that your name?" still sobbing grey says "yes, my name is grey, grey flame, and this...was Taz, he was my only family left, I have no one now" still trying to comfort grey, Fluttershy says "I know it doesn't mean anything now but, I want to thank you for saving me from, them" finally standing up, "you're welcome, you just need to be more careful" grey looks at his brother, "I'm going to kill them if it's the last thing I do"

"Revenge is never the answer" grey furiously snaps to Fluttershy "Not the answer? NOT THE ANSWER? They KILLED my brother in front of me and you say revenge is not the answer? REALLY?" After he said that grey sees Fluttershy start tearing up "I'm...sorry, I'm so sorry, I'm just really mad right now, I didn't mean to snap at you" grey tries to hug Fluttershy but she runs off, crying back to her cottage "Damn it" Grey says to himself "I'm going to make them pay, I'll make them witness what they did to me and what they did to you Taz, we're flames, and flames don't give up easily"
