Well, here goes nothing.

My name's Rugged Earth. I'm an earth pony and I live in the Badlands in a town called Hipposandale. I'm fourteen years old.

It was Hearth's Warming day a few days ago and my mom got me this journal to write in. She said it would be 'theriputic' (whatever that means) and that I should write in it at least once a week. I don't like writing in general, but I've decided to try it anyway because I don't ha I tend to have some free time now and again.

Set ten years after the first episode of the show.
This story goes by the headcanon that the show's episodes were shown out of order, so some things may seem ordered weirdly time-wise (e.g; Hearth's Warming happening before Winter Wrap Up).

Entry #1 - Introductions

Saturday, 1st January, 1011 A.N:

Well, here goes nothing.

My name's Rugged Earth. I'm an earth pony and I live in the Badlands in a town called Hipposandale. I'm fourteen years old.

It was Hearth's Warming day a few days ago and my mom got me this journal to write in. She said it would be 'theriputic' (whatever that means) and that I should write in it at least once a week. I don't like writing in general, but I've decided to try it anyway because I don't ha I tend to have some free time now and again.

I suppose I should start out with a little bit about where I am.

I live on a grape farm on the edge of town. My family isn't particularly wealthy, but we're not exactly poor either. Grapes sell very well (the northern ponies like wine), but they don't grow so great in the climate of Hipposandale. Like most places south of Equestria, my town isn't seen as important enough to have a weather squad so we have to deal with whatever naturally happens.

My grandma was really happy about that for some reason. She was always saying 'the sky-folk should stay where they belong' and things like that. She died a couple of years ago. My mom said it was some kind of illness. My dad says so too, but he thinks a pegasus gave it to her. When I asked him how they could do that he nickered, walked away from me and started mumbling things under his breath. I didn't understand most of what he muttered.

We didn't talk that much after that, but we didn't talk much before it either. Mom says it's because he's busy but when I hear them shouting at each other at night sometimes she keeps saying the word 'fraudalance' (or something like that).

I'm getting tired of writing now so I'm going to finish this entry here. I doubt I'll write any more anyway.
