Chapter 1 Potential Romances and Good Friends

This is the story of Dusk Shine, a social shut in and a pretty handsome young stallion and a genius colt and we also have a good friend to Dusk known as Kranos, not known to others that he is an old friend to Celestia and Luna. And to introduce Barb, an eighteen year old longma who is Dusk’s best friend and she has a bit of a crush on him for long time after he used a spell that aged her body to age and grow like a pony.

"You are sometimes intolerable and I KNOW I'm right! And please don't bring Lyra into this, she is completely insane and as far as humans existing, they are still a MYTH as far as I can tell!"

I have important news to tell after a thousand years Nightmare Moon is returning at the longest day of the thousandth year. And because of her plan to kill you, we must act now.

Barb shot her magic green flame at the two letters causing them to evaporate.
“I dunno big bro, about this, Princess Celestia’s a little busy with the Summer Sun Celebration, and it’s like the day after tomorrow. Prophecy or not, I don’t think that she’ll even have the time to read your crazy end of the world theory.”
Dusk gave a rather smug chuckle at Barb’s answer
“Ah, Dusk don’t get your hopes up, I know her a lot longer than you have kid. So don’t expect it to be good.”
“Ha! My teacher will always listen to me, Kranos. She will accept my letter and help send troops to help save Equestria!”
“Big bro, I have to agree with Kranos. She might not….”
Barb burps out two letters and reads the two.
“What does it say, Spike? To prepare Canterlot, rally the troops; bring my big brother in to help battle the forces of evil?”
“It says to get a life.”
“WHAT?!”
“I told you Dusk, I have known Celestia a lot longer than you.”

Then Spike used his flame on the magical letter. Meanwhile at Canterlot Castle, Celestia was preparing for the Summer Sun Celebration.
“No, no, NO! The party supplies go on the carriage for Ponyville! “
“Sorry your highness, we’ll put the supplies on the carriage to Ponyville.”
“Yes, there guard, now I can relax.”
Then the letter from Kranos appears in front of Celestia.
“What is that? I told Dusk to go to Ponyville to make friends before Nightmare Moon comes. And why would he send another?”
“Uh, your highness it is not from Dusk.”
“Then who is it?”
Artemis is a one of the best guards on patrol and is not a bad looking alicorn guard and he used to be one of Princess Luna’s Night Guards and former lover.

“It’s from Kranos.”
“Oh, buck. And can you read this guard?”
“Yes your highness. I’ll come and read it and you know I have a name and it is Artemis.”
“Sorry Artemis, but I need you to come here.”

Dear Princess Celestia,
ARE YOU NUTS?! Sending Dusk on this assignment is foolhardy at best and sending to his inevitable doom and not only that he doesn’t know what he is getting himself into! Please just tell him that you know about Nightmare Moon. And I do hope you are right in doing this and I will tell him about me when the time is right.

Meanwhile Dusk, Barb and Kranos arrive at Ponyville.
“Dusk, Kranos welcome to Ponyville.”
“Now Spike and Kranos we are here to prepare for Nightmare Moon and to prove that she is coming!”

“OK, Kranos go on ahead, but you won’t get through to him.”

“Dusk, I would like to talk to you in a few minutes.”

“Okay what is first on the list?”
“What is first on the list is the one who is in charge of food, her name is Applejack.”

Then they go to Apple Acres and see Kranos talking to Applejack.

bucket on his head for good measure.

They take a good look at the 'unicorn' and immediately change their tone.

Then Rainbow Dash puts her goggles on and flies at a blinding speed.
“Wow, she’s good.” said Dusk in an amazed tone
“Trying to get her to work and sorry for the argument.”

Then Rainbow Dash, Barb and Kranos began to laugh at what happened to their manes.

All of them were laughing in tears

“I’ll be somewhere else trying to master some spells, see you all.” Said Courage

“Think carefully before finishing that sentence.” Growled Kranos
Then both Rarity and Barb turned to see who said that and immediately recognized the “unicorn”.
“KRANOS, SORRY!” said Rarity and Barb in fear
“Good now you two apologize or I will send you two into the next century.”
“Oh I am so sorry for yelling at you darling and what is your name?”
“Oh my name is Barb, best friend of Dusk.”

“Oh!” exclaimed Barb with a deep blush

“I can see that but if you do anything to make his feelings hurt I will make your life a living nightmare.” Whispered Rarity
“I’ll hold you to it.” whispered Barb
“Now where were we? Ah yes fixing your manes.”
“Oh Rarity let me help.” said Barb

“Okay, I’ll let you help.”

They both start to work on Courage’s and Dusk’s manes and they were successful.
“Amazing, darling, a great job you done on Dusk’s mane, impressive!”

“Yeah I might consider working here to help you run the shop.”
“We have an opening right now for cashier and haircutter.”

After the discussion with Rarity they proceed out of the shop and talk a little.
“What were you two talking about Barb?” Dusk inquired

“And she is creepy and I will never fall in love with a mare like that.”

“Okay who’s next on the list?”
“It is Fluttershy.”
“Thank you and Kranos?”

“Why have you brought Courage?”
“Because he asked me to come with us on our assignment and he wanted to see Fluttershy as well.”

They all go to see Fluttershy and Dusk blushes hard.

By the great Fausticorn she has an amazing plot! Thought Dusk
“Equestria to Dusk…. are you there?” said Barb
Oh by Celestia she’s beautiful

“Now let’s introduce ourselves please?”

While they were talking she was teaching a few birds to sing.

Then she runs to the bush after she sees Dusk.

“My name is Fluttershy.” She says quietly

“A TEEN LONGMA!” yelled Fluttershy as she pushes Dusk away

“Thanks and the guy you pushed down is Dusk Shine.”
“Oh, oh I am so sorry for pushing you down!”
“That’s alright, it’s no problem.”

Then Fluttershy proceeds to pick Dusk up and comes a little too close to her and accidently kiss.
“Hmm!” Dusk blushes
“Hm!” Fluttershy blushes
“I’m sorry for that!” said Dusk breaking away from the kiss
“That is alright, I picked you up too fast.”
“I’m sorry too for the kiss.”
“No, p-problem.”
“Hi Fluttershy.” Said Courage
“Oh, hi Courage, how are you?”
“I’m fine, you?”
“I’m okay, sorry for the little scene.”
“That’s alright, no need to be nervous.” Said Courage with a smile

“Yes, Princess Barbria de Draco, daughter of Spikerellius de Draco and Spinria de Draco, loyal assistant to Dusk Shine and Celestia and that is little of it.”

Then after talking to Fluttershy they checked the list and no more ponies to check up on. Then they all proceed to the library and find someone is in there.

“I just know things!” said the pink mare, “And I threw you a party!”
Everyone greets Dusk, “Hi Dusk!”
“Okay… this… is a bit… strange….”
“Oh, I forgot to tell you my name, it is Pinkie Pie!”
“Hi, Pinkie?”
“Oh, oh, oh, maybe we can…..”
“Pinkie, how’s it hanging?” said Kranos
“Unckie Kranos!”
“Give me a hug!”

Then Kranos gives Pinkie a big ol’ hug.
“Oh I missed you, Krany!”

While Courage and Rainbow Dash were talking, Dusk snuck away with Barb and with Pinkie Pie in tow.
“Dusk is everything alright?” said Barb
“No, no it is not! This town is crazy and the people are nuts!”
“Hey, some of them are good people trying to be friends and most wants to be more than your friends.”
“That’s… true. But we need to prepare for Nightmare Moon! If we don’t, we are doomed!”
“Kid, let me tell something, don’t go sneaking around like some sneak thief or you will regret it and relax, we need some little R&R, okay. So go back inside and have a good time as Celestia said, make some friends, alright?”
“Sure, Kranos I’ll go back inside.”
“No problem.”
They go back inside the house and then the Mayor proceeds to announce Princess Celestia’s arrival.
“Mares and gentlecolts, I would like to introduce you to Princess Celestia!”
Then an air of dark magic flows through the room and a voice booms through the room.
“MY ROYAL SUBJECTS, YOUR TRUE RULER HAS ARRIVED!”
“Oh no, we are too late!”
Then Kranos proceeds to speak, “You will not even dare to harm these ponies or you will suffer!”
“BE QUIET YOU KNAVE OR YOU WILL PERISH!”
“Then I will have to show everyone a secret, that I have not shown anypony in millennia.”
“Millennia, why are you saying that Kranos in front of everypony and me?”
“Kid, I am going show something nopony has ever seen in a long time.”
Then the room is filled with a powerful magical force and Kranos begins to transform into his true form.
“Now witness my true form that nopony has ever seen in a long time!” Said Kranos
After the transformation, Kranos reveals himself as an alicorn like Celestia.
“K-Kranos, a-are you a-an alicorn?!”
“Yes, now come face me, you Faust-forsaken demon!”
“NOT NOW MY ROYAL SUBJECTS I HAVE OTHER PLANS, WE WILL MEET AGAIN!”
“We need to go to the old library, NOW!” said Dusk
