Clara shouted, "Shut up! I am sick of listening to you!" The Doctor stood in shock for a moment, and then placed the book he was holding on the step he was on. He stepped down the stair case, and said," Well, well, I...uh... I didn't do it for Courtney. I didn't know what was going to happen." The Doctor said, walking over to Clara. "Do you think I'm lying?" "I don't know! I don't know!" Clara replied, now starting to sob. "If you didn't do it for her, I mean...Do you know what...it was cheap, it was pathetic. No, no, no, it was patronizing. That was you, patting us on the back, saying 'You're big enough to go to the shops by yourself now - go on, toddle along.'" "No, that was me allowing you to make a choice about your own future." The Doctor interrupted, surprisingly calm. "That was me...respecting you." "Oh my God, really? Was it?" Clara asked. "Yeah, well, respected is not how I feel." She inhaled, pulling back tears, as she let out a loud sob. The Doctor's mouth flexed, and then he said, "Right, okay." He turned around. "Uh..." "I nearly didn't press that button." Clara interrupted. "I nearly got it wrong. That was you - my friend, making me scared, making me feel like a bloody idiot..." "Language." The Doctor said quietly, pointing at her. "Oh, don't you ever tell me to mind my language, don't you ever tell me to take the stabilizers off my bike, and don't you dare lump me in with the rest of all the little humans that you think are all tiny and silly and predictable!" Clara shouted, and stepped toward him. "You walk our Earth, Doctor, you breathe our air, you make us your friends, and that is your moon too - and you can damn well help us when we need it!" "I was helping." "What, by clearing off?!" "Yes." "Yeah, well, clear off!" Clara shouted, as the Doctor just stood there. "Go on. You can clear off. Get back in your lonely... Your lonely, bloody, TARDIS, and don't you come back!" She stomped off toward the door. The Doctor turned toward her. "Clara... Clara!" She stopped just in front of the door. She turned around, her face drenched with tears. "You go away." She said. "Okay? You go a long way away." Clara turned around, exited the TARDIS, slamming the door behind her. The Doctor stood in silence for a moment, and then, turned around and activated the TARDIS, sending it flying into the time vortex. He walked around the console, and sat down on the rotating chair, putting his face in his hands. He wasn't sure what he did wrong. He let her make her own decisions, her own choice about her world, how was that a bad thing? Why was he always expected to make choices for everyone? He sat in silence for a few moments, and then heard his phone ring. The Doctor looked up, and walked over to the phone, which was unfortunately, on the opposite side of the door. He stood up, and opened the TARDIS door, grabbing the phone, and walking back inside. "Hello, Clara? Is that you?" "Doctor?" The voice wasn't Clara's. "Is that you? Your voice is different, have you regenerated again?" The Doctor tilted his head to the side, as he tried to register who the voice belonged to. "Hold on, are you Sunset?" "Last I checked." Sunset replied. "Sunset Shimmer, the girl with the hair of bacon, I remember you!" The Doctor responded, gleefully. "Hair of bacon?" Sunset asked, her voice stern. "What are you implying?" "I...I was just...making conversation..." "Don't worry, I get it all the time." Sunset said, her voice easing. "Listen, I need you to come to Canterlot High, there's an emergency." "What kind of emergency?" The Doctor asked. "Look, just get over here." Sunset said, "I need you now, more than ever." Sunset hung up, and the Doctor put the phone up, and swaggered over to the console, pressing buttons, and pulling levers, steering the TARDIS to Canterlot High.
