Chapter 7: Preperations are Made

Previous Chapter

Rampage had been passed out for hours after the flashback. He was awoken by a knocking on his door, which turned out to be Twilight.

“Rampage! Rainbow Dash is here to see you!” The purple mare called into the room through the door. She hadn’t seen Rampage out of his room in hours. She heard a grumble and the door opened, revealing a somehow…different Rampage.

‘He seems more…serious, less playful. That’s not like him’ Twilight thought, but decided not to question her pupil. He could handle his own problems, Twilight had faith in him.

“Rainbow Dash is downstairs, Rampage” She wished for nothing more than for him to get out and let all his problems go.

“I’m going, I’m going” He grumbled, trotting down the stairs to the doorway, where the cyan mare was waiting. “Hey RD” Rampage wanted to hide his emotions, so he put on his mask of happiness. He wanted to keep his emotions in, didn’t want to show them to

anypony.

“H-hey” She squeaked, and then started over quickly, hoping he hadn’t heard her. “Hey Rampage, wanna go for a walk?” She asked indifferently

Rampage shrugged, then grinned and started trotting outside

“I’m not going to wait for you RD” He called back. She rolled her eyes and took off after him.

She yelled “I’m the fastest flier in Equestria! You can’t beat me!”

But in her mind, she thought hard and deep;

‘How will I ask him….?’

---------Back to Dark’s group---------

Dark turned around after they were far enough from Dagger’s hiding place. The dew was on the grass all around them, the air was humid, and it smelled like sweat. He turned around and addressed a cream coated mare with a pure white mane and dragon-like eyes. The stallion had a Guy Fawkes mask for a cutie mark.

“Kadaj, which pony do you want? Devious gets the cyan one, Rainbow Dash” Dark asked with a little bit of worry. Kadaj was the most bloodthirsty of the group, not a pony to be messed with. If anypony got in the way of his target…may Shade help them.

“If I had to choose one, Dark, I’d choose….the pink one” The cream colored stallion said quietly. His blade was itching for blood. It hadn’t stopped vibrating since his best battle in a decade, one with a stallion that was hardened from years of manual labor. He had moved unusually fast for a stallion his size. Kadaj got shivers just thinking about it. He hadn’t had any fun since then. Royal guards? Too easy.

Dark saw Kadaj get into what was coming up, and addressed a purple and red mare.

“Devious, you get Rainbow Dash, take her place. Make sure none of the other 6 know” Devious just smiled, then morphed into a perfect copy of Rainbow Dash. Devious was technically a changeling, but she had complete control over what she looked like. She had made her mare form her permanent form. She looked, smelled, and sounded like a normal mare.

Dark then turned to Spark, the blue and green stallion. He always seemed to smell like ozone, no matter where he was. He was one of

the few pegasi that had some form of magic. Electricity hummed around him, creating a barrier of sorts.

“Spark…you test Dagger, see if he’s ready to join us. All of you, wait for my signal to attack, we need to do this quickly and silently”

Spark nodded. “Yes sir!” and took off.

The rest followed. Dark stayed behind to think, and also to scout out their targets and give the signal. Dark figured he had time, so he sat down on the wet grass, surrounded by the hums of insects and the smell of dew.

ok, so I’ll take Apple Jack. That brother of hers….that’ll be a problem. He’s strong, very strong. Fast though? Probably not. I think I’ll burn down their farm though….yeah, yeah that’s it!’

Dark was shivering in pure ecstasy of the thought of burning all that wood, food, and shelter. He was a pyromaniac, and he knew it. He loved flame, and his Master had gifted him with the power to control flames to an extent. He didn’t have full control as he was just a Pegasi, not a unicorn. He made a fuse of slow burning wood, and led it to a pile of vines. When the vines would ignite, it’d send a flame column 20 feet high, and a smoke pillar so much higher. He wanted to smell the acrid smoke, feel the pain and burn, the blisters form. He wanted to see bodies in the flames, charring to a jet black, sending up a stench so bad, it was almost heavenly to Dark.

“Fuck, I got too caught up in my thoughts. I need to move, Dagger’s going to complete Master’s objective too. We can’t let him beat us to them. I will get revenge for when he humiliated me.”

Dark got so angry that his hair caught on fire, turned to flames, white hot. He realized this, and he calmed down, when he did the flames went away. His anger made his power run amok, which was never a good thing. Dark shook his head, and started trotting through the morning air to Sweet Apple Acres.
