SOMEWHERE IN THE DESERTS ON EARTH

JONATHAN RAY. MATHEWS/ COLLARED RANK NO. 1 (obstarva is dead)
NEXT: NIGHTMARE (rebuilt black and red white glint)
OBJECTIVE: ELIMINATE O.R.C.A. BRIGADE + ENEMY AF + POSSIBILITY OF ENEMY NEXT
"Jonathan... are you there?"
"Yes ma'am. I have a visual on the O.R.C.A brigade... 50,000 meters. I don't think they see me."
"Good, they're on time... prep for engagement. Watch for this NEXT. We don't know if it will show up."
"I've been spotted, engaging!" Peeeee-boooom! The sound of an over booster cracking like thunder. "Opening fire!" In a flash the MTs and NORMALs light up the sky with gunfire. "First formation of MTs down," Jonathan says as he slices a NORMAL with his laser blade. At this point the arms fort engages, which just makes the whole mission harder. "Two more MT formations down."
"Good work, keep the heat on."
"Will do, going in for the arms fort. This may not be as easy as we thought. The design is similar to the Spirit of Motherwill."
"You're the best. I know you can handle it."
"It's loaded with NORMALs, but it seems I'm too fast for its cannons."
"Good, use that to your advantage."
John dashed in for the first attack run. "One flight deck clear. They just nicked my PA a little. There goes the first cannon. One down, five to go."
"John, we have a problem... that NEXT is here. It's a heavy. Twelve miles out. It's saving its PA and energy, so you have some time. My suspicions and fears were right. It has experimental weapons stolen from OMAR science technology and massive amounts of kojima energy coming from its right back mount and core."
"Noted... two more flight decks down and three cannons, along with a NORMAL formation."
"Great, keep it up."
At this point John is suddenly pinned down by a NORMAL sniper formation, and a NEXT being pinned means shit can hit the fan pretty fast.
"Damn! Okay, it looks like I'm going to have to make a high speed maneuver. I can afford a few hits."
"Don't get shot too much."
John waited for the barrage to slow. Pow pow-pow pow The NEXT's boosters shot bursts of thrust, avoiding the sniper NORMALs' volleys of bullets.
"Perfectly executed. Now it's my turn."
"Don't get cocky, John."
John sprung into action, firing his rifle in bursts to conserve ammo.
"John! Choppers at your 6."
John pulled a 180 degree turn and aimed for the choppers.
"Locked...firing. Targets down."
"That NEXT is closing in. Only 6 miles now."
"All arms fort cannons destroyed."
The arms fort tumbles to the ground in a large fiery explosion, making the whole battle shift course.
"Arms fort down."
"Keep it going... O.R.C.A gunships coming in fast from the north west."
"I see them."
John tried to engage them, but they were too fast for even him. "Fuck"
"John, they were just a distraction, the NEXT is here!"
"I can't believe I was fooled like that."
As John turn around his NEXT was shredded by the unknown NEXT's gatling cannon."Shit, shit, shit" John got up close and slashed with the laser blade, but the NEXT still stands. Then at the worst possible time ... John's jets cut out."DAMIT!!! My thrusters must have been hit by a sniper." The unknown prepares itself to fire the experimental weapon. Beeeeeeee-kaboom!!!! The sound of the experimental kojima weapon firing, vaporizing nightmare and john along with it.
"John? John!, Jonathan! ... Jonathan respond, that's an order."
EQUESTRIA-CANTERLOT
3:12 PM
Twilight enters the throne room with the others with worried look on her face. "Hello, Princess Twilight Sparkle."
"Good evening, Princess Celestia"
"What do you need us to do?"
"I had a vision about..."
Rainbow Dash interrupts. "Whoa, whoa, whoa, is this good or bad?"
"To be honest... I don't know." Celestia says in a troubled voice and seeming unnerved.
"Well shoot, whatever it is it sounds more important than a bumper crop of zap apples."
"What did you see?" Twilight says with a hint of curiosity on her face.
"Not much... Some kind of huge metallic meteor landing not too far from the city limits, and then just clouds of smoke and dust. I have a feeling today is the day it's going to happen though." Celestia explained.
"Awesome! Maybe it's some kind of giant metal monster or aliens."
"Oh darling, I doubt that it would be aliens..." Rarity says feeling confident in here statement.
"I used to have weird dreams about aliens! I thought they picked me up and did some kind of tests on me. Then we had a huge party! After that I woke up and thought about it all day." Pinki pie mentions.
"Girls, calm down! Spike, make a note of Celestia's vision."
"Right. Also, I agree with Rarity that there is little chance of it being something like aliens."
"Thank you darling!"
"You're welcome." said Spike with a lovestruck look in his eyes.
"Wait, where is Princess Luna?"
"She is up in the observation tower, watching, ready to act on a moment's notice."
Celestia speeks firmly. "Then we had better get our elements ready."
All of a sudden Pinkie Pie starts to shake, her tail and her mane begin to sag, and her eyes cross. Then her fit stops, and she shakes her mane and tail back to their original state. The Pinkie sense. "What was that?" Twilight says, sounding scared.
"It means something really big is about to fall from the sky!" She replies somehow excited.
At that very moment, Shining Armor burst through the door in full armor.
"Twily, Celestia, the rest of you, come quick!"
They are all startled, frightened, and completely unready for what they are about to see. They race to the observation tower, all completely aware of the circumstances due to shining's state. Even pinkie pie has become serious and all of them have become rest terrified and stiff. "What is happening?" Celestia asked.
"Don't know Luna wanted me to get you guys in a hurry."Once there they are greeted by a very worried Princess Luna.
"The nine of you need to see this."
The nine step onto the balcony, not able to believe their eyes. A giant meteor was hurtling towards the plains south of Canterlot. Kboooooom! The meteor strikes, creating a a loud boom. Dust and smoke fill the air near it, hiding it from sight.
"Princess Celestia, permission to investigate the meteor."
"Take the elements and be careful."
"Be careful Twily." Shining Armor whispers, fearing for his little sister.
Twilight gives her brother a brief hug.
"Ok girls, lets go."
They secure there elements of harmony and set off on hoof to investigate the crash site.
EQUESTRIA- SOUTH OF CANTERLOT
3:30 PM
"Oh my god, what happened? Am I dead?" John's voice is filled with pain from being hurtled around the cockpit of his NEXT. John opens his eyes to his reflection in the broken monitors, causing his jaw to almost drops. "I've become a horse! Not just a horse, but a unicorn! Not only that, but my console and controls look like there made for a horse! What the hell happened!" he says with terror and confusion as he tentatively touches his horn with his hoof. "Calm down, John, let's evaluate the situation. Even though I feel like I've been beaten with a sledge hammer, I have no visible injuries. I guess it was a good idea to get a 4-point safety harness installed last month. Although I wish my NEXT was in the condition as I am, at least the controls change so I can still use them. Plus my body armor and helmet still fit."
He attempts to get to know the new controls and run diagnostics. "Shit, I can't even get her started. Then that leaves me with the fact that I'm a horse, which I completely do not understand. At least I still have my sword and pistol. Wait I think my hips (flanks) are bleeding. That's odd, it's a mark on my side. It seems to be the same crossed swords, shield and red dragon as my NEXT's emblem. Weird..."
At that moment he realized that there were voices drawing closer outside. He quickly release the safety harness dropping to the front of the cockpit and drew his handgun, a laser-sighted Walther P99, and his serrated tactical wakizashi.
"Okay girls, let's see what we can find."
"This is so awesome!"
"Quiet, Rainbow Dash." Twilight exclaimed
"Sorry..."
"Fluttershy, please come here."
"Sorry Twilight, I think I'm good over here." Fluttershy whispered from behind a tree.
All of a sudden smoke flies everywhere and covers the crash site as the meteor opens. In a flash, there is a red beam pointed at Rainbow Dash and the end of a sword is a centimeter from Twilight's face.
"What the... show yourself!" Twilight commands.
As the smoke clears a lean, dark brown stallion, in a sort of fight suit and heads up display standing upright on his back legs becomes visible, a gun in one hoof and a wakizashi in the other.
"Who are you?" Twilight demands.
"I could ask you the same question."
"Uhhh, help, red glowy thing pointed at me!"
"I am Princess Twilight Sparkle of Equestria. I'm sure you have heard of me before."
"Nope."
The group is dumbfounded.
"I'll be asking the questions." the stranger continues.
Rainbow Dash speeds into action now that the stranger was not paying any attention to her, zipping through the air, as the stranger fires three rounds the moment he sees her. All of them miss, and he finds himself tackled by Rainbow Dash, his gun now to her head. Twilight immediately restrains them both with her magic.
"Lay off, Rainbow Dash! Twilight shouts. Now, let's start over. Who are you? The stranger curious as to how he is restrained.
"I am Jonathan Ray Mathews, number one LYNX of Collared." His name and title rolls off his tongue. "Forgive me for my previous actions, I was just following my instincts. As I see you now want to be diplomatic about the situation, I shall do the same. I also apologize for attacking you... Rainbow Dash, is it? Also would you mind explaining where I am? I mean you no harm." Twilight releases them from their restraints.”Your in equestria, specific south of canterlot.” Twilight announces.
"Excuse me, sir, my name is Rarity. What is Collared? Also you said you were a LYNX... Would you mind explaining that I have never herd of such a thing?" John removes his HUD reveling the his face and black mane.
"Collared is a organization of mercenaries who sell out their firepower to whoever is willing to pay in the number of ongoing wars that has engulfed the entire surface of my world.seeing as we are no longer on me world. A LYNX is one of those mercenaries, and I'm the best."
"Well that's that, but what in tarnation is that giant meteor?" Applejack says with great curiosity.
"This is my NEXT... well, the giant robot that I pilot, Nightmare. Sadly it needs to be repaired if it's going to work again. Luckily there isn't a leek in the kojima reactor… it's the power source."
"I may be able to help, what's your NEXT made of?" Twilight chimes in.
"Metal alloys mostly."
"I know a repair spell that might help."
"I think you should update your superiors on what's going on... You know, before they see a forty story robot dashing towards them at blinding speed." John subjects.
"Good idea. Rainbow Dash, get to the castle and update Princess Celestia and Princess Luna."
“So it's a monarchy… Interesting.”John expresses
“Yes prinssess Celestia has ruled for thousands of years.” Twilight sharing her knowlage with John.
"On it!" Rainbow Dash give a quick salute-like gesture and zooms off, creating a sonic rainboom in the process. This amazes John. About fifteen minutes later she returns.
"Hey Dashie! How was your trip?" Pinkie Pie says with her usual enthusiasm.
"I gave them the short version, so they're more or less up to speed, but they've still got a few questions for our visitor here."
"Okay then, let's put this thing back together." Twilight's horn begins to glow with immense power, along with the broken NEXT. John watches in amazement as it reconstructs and mends itself. After a few minutes, the glowing cease, leaving the NEXT fully repaired but still lying on its face.
"This is great!" John exclaims, then adds uncertainty, "Now we need to get it upright..."
"It isn't?" Twilight says in confusion. It seems fine to her. All four of its legs are grounded, after all. It should be able to stand without issue.
"Actually, its not." John points out the feet. "Those should be on the ground."
"Ah, I suppose that makes a bit more sense. Okay then, let's try this again."
Twilight's horn glows brightly once more, slowly bringing the NEXT to its feet. Fluttershy trembles and moves back a bit as the massive construct lands once more, now standing at its terrifying full height. All of the ponies stare at the monstrous mech in awe.
"Thank you, Princess Twilight Sparkle."
"Please, just call me Twilight."
"All right." John taps a button on his helmet, opening the cockpit's rear hatch and dropping a carbon fiber and metal rope ladder from thirty stories up. "So, where are we headed?"
Twilight points to the spires of Canterlot with her hoof. "There, to Canterlot, the capital of Equestria."
"Ok... Wait, I almost forgot. Is there a place I can park this? Preferably out of sight?"
"We'll find a place once we're closer."
"Celestia said to just set it down in the courtyard, until you can find spot." Rainbow Dash adds.
"Alright then."
"Let's go, girls! And... John." Twilight awkwardly abridges the statement.
"Meet you there." John quickly scales the ladder in a matter on minutes and jumps into the pilot seat. He seals the cockpit and fires up the engine. "Wow, she really did a great job repairing this..." He notes as he makes his launch preparations. "Running diagnostics..all systems online" states the onboard computer
"Now let's open her up." Peeeee-boooom! The over boosters fired.
"AAAAAAAAAAH!" Twilight and the others scream as the roaring over boosters of Nightmare blast past them. "That thing is faster than I am!" Rainbow Dash says with a tinge of envy.
"What does that matter, Rainbow Dash? You jealous o' that thing?"
"Shut up, AJ!"
"Please girls, don't argue, it doesn't even matter." Rarity states, trying to calm the two as they rush to Canterlot.
