"Hey Rainbow Dash!" a orange pegasi filly said.
It was a cloudy day, and Scootaloo was walking along the brown dirt roads of Ponyville. Scootaloo was soon greeted by Rainbow Dash, that was silently laying on a dark gray cloud.
"Wat'cha doing Dashie!" the little filly said, with excitement in her eyes. The orange filly always admired her favorite pony, Rainbow Dash. One day she wanted to be a flier, to feel the wind in her mane, and to show her favorite pony what she is made of. She knows one day she is going to soar through the sky, and be with Rainbow.
"Eh, i'm not doing that much at the moment." The rainbow haired pony said. "But, I have a present for you!" Rainbow said cheerfully.
Under her wing was a magenta scarf, matching the color of Scootaloo's mane.
"For you squirt, it was mine as a filly, but I wanted to give it to somepony special." Rainbow said as the tossed the scarf to Scootaloo.
"Wow Rainbow, this is amazing! Thank you!" the filly said to Rainbow as she flew down from the cloud. The both of them embraced in a hug.
"Well, I have to go to Applejack's barn to get some rope, see you later." Rainbow said as she took off into the sky.
"Wow! This scarf is so awesome! I should repay her for getting it for me" the filly said to herself.
The orange filly walked along the Town Hall, glancing at the posters promoting shows in Equestria. There was one for The Great and Powerful Trixie, one for some magic show, and one for Sugar Cube Corner. Scootaloo kept looking at the posters, until something caught her eye. It was a poster for the Wonderbolts air show, one day only!
"I know how to repay Rainbow! I can use all my bits to buy tickets for the show!" Scootaloo said excitedly to herself. She knew this was going to be a great plan to repay Dashie! She just knew it.
"Howdy Rainbow! What brings you around these parts." Applejack said to her friend.
"Hey AJ! So I was wondering, do you have a extra rope I could borrow?" Rainbow asked Applejack.
"Sure! We have lots of extra, wait, why do you ya need a rope?" Applejack asked the Rainbow pony while raising an eyebrow.
"Well... uh" Rainbow stuttered. She didn't think of this part of the plan. "You see, I need to hang up this, uh, this apple, because uh.. they are more ripe when they are not on cloud?"
"Well ya'll saying a bunch of hooey, but I guess ya'll need it." Applejack said. Applejack walked in the barn and returned in a few seconds. Applejack tossed the rope to Rainbow. "Well here ya go."
"Thanks AJ! The apple's are sure gonna need it, heheheh.." Rainbow said as she flew away.
Scootaloo broke open her filly band, and saw it contained 40 bits.
"Wow! This should definetly be enough to pay for the show." Scootaloo said to herself. Hopefully she had enough bits.
Scootaloo walked to the ticket booth, which had a long line of ponies. Scootaloo groaned to herself, it was going to take a while. A few, about one, hour later Scootaloo was at the front of the line. Scootaloo poured her 40 bits at the stand and she asked for two tickets.
"Sorry miss, but that will only pay for one ticket." the pony at the stand said. Scootaloo groaned and received her one ticket and decided to tell Rainbow about her "so called" plan. She walked to Rainbow Dash's house, and since she couldn't fly, she had to shout to get her attention.
"Rainbow Dash! Rainbow Dash!" Scootaloo shouted.
Soon Rainbow Dash appeared from her door and saw Scootaloo. "Hey squirt! Lemme help you!" Rainbow said as she went to pick up Scootaloo.
"Thanks Rainbow" Scootaloo said to Rainbow. The two of them walked into Rainbow's house, and Scootaloo saw a rope hanging from the ceiling of Dash's house.
"RAINBOW! What is the meaning of this!" Scootaloo shouted to Rainbow as she pointed her hoof to the rope. Rainbow Dash was shocked, and looked really nervous. Soon, after a few seconds she sighed. Rainbow decided to tell Scootaloo the truth.
"Squirt, i'm going to tell you a secret, but you have to promise not to tell anypony, got it?" Rainbow told Scootaloo with a serious voice, so Scootaloo knew she was not joking.
"Got it Rainbow." Scootaloo said.
"Ok, I had.. a plan, to do this" Rainbow said as she pointed with her hoof to the rope. "But, I couldn't risk that look of disappointment on your face, so I didn't do it."
"Rainbow, pinkie promise you will not do this ever again. For me Rainbow Dash, please?" Scootaloo said as she looked up to the Rainbow haired mare.
"Cross my heart, hope to fly, stick a cupcake in my eye." Rainbow said as she gave a hug to Scootaloo.
"Thanks Dashie. Also, I have news. I was going to use my bits to buy two tickets for the Wonderbolts air show, but I only had enough money for one.." Scootaloo said sadly as she lowered her head to the ground.
"Well," Rainbow said, "I also had a ticket to the show too!" Rainbow said as she grabbed a ticket off her desk. Scootaloo gasped in excitement.
"Yay! Now we can go together to the show!" Scootaloo said. "Isn't this great!"
"This got 20% cooler!" Rainbow said excitedly. "So, meet me here at 12:00 sharp, got it kid?"
"Got it Rainbow! See you tomorrow!" Scootaloo said as she excited the house.
Scootaloo walked, well more skipped, to Rainbow's cloud house. She wore the magenta scarf around her neck, showing that she appreciated the gift. She was as happy as a filly can ever be, and hopefully nothing will ruin this moment. Soon, Scootaloo encountered the cloud house, and saw a rope ladder hanging from the side.
Funny, she thought. She must have left that for me so I can get up by myself.
The orange filly climbed the ladder, one hoof in front of the other. Finally, she made it to the top. Scootaloo gave a light knock at the door, and saw that it was open ajar. Scootaloo walked in, and saw the most terrible thing ever. She gasped.
There it was. Rainbow Dash, except this was a different Rainbow. She was hung up the rope, the one she promised not to use. Scootaloo ran up to the lifeless figure. Rainbow's eyes were white as a paper, and Scootaloo checked Rainbow's pulse, but there was nothing.
"Rainbow! You lied to me! How could you..." Scootaloo said as she sobbed on the ground.
Scootaloo looked around, and saw a paper on a table. The same table the tickets were placed on yesterday. Scootaloo picked up the letter with her hooves, and it read,
Dear Squirt,
I hope you aren't to sad, and i'm sorry I broke a pinkie promise, but my time has come to an end. Go to the Wonderbolt show for me, please. I love ya squirt, thanks for everything...

As soon as Scootaloo finished reading the letter, she sobbed hard and looked at Dash. Scootaloo went up to her and held her hoof, while tears welled up in her eyes.
