Rainbow Dash was about as loyal a friend as you could have. She would die to protect her friends, and do almost anything for them. However, one night, in her chambers in Princess Twilight Sparkle's castle, she realized something: she never got anything in return for her loyalty.
Her mind cast itself back to the time when she was the town's hero. She did many good deeds for them. Sure, she was a bit arrogant, but thinking back upon it, there was still no reason for her friends to upstage her the way they did, with their Mare-do-Well disguise and all.
Her mind then cast itself to the time she was in the Wonderbolt Academy. When that selfish little brat Lightning Dust was lead pony, many lives were endangered. And all she could do was complain to Spitfire, the leader of the Wonderbolts.
Didn't she deserve better treatment? Didn't she bear the Element of Loyalty when it still existed? Didn't she help save Equestria many times? And yet each time, Twilight Sparkle was given all the credit.
Rainbow couldn't help but feel enraged. Nopony gave her anything in return for her loyalty! This wasn't right.
As if in response to Rainbow's thoughts, a voice said to her in her head, "We know how you feel, Rainbow Dash."
"Who's there?" she thought nervously.
"We feel your pain," the voice continued, "we have been treated as you have been."
"What do you want?" Rainbow replied internally.
"We can help you," the voice began, "We can give you the power to take what you rightfully desire."
"Admission to the Wonderbolts?" she replied.
"No, Rainbow Dash," responded the voice, "respect. You desire that more than anything, do you not?"
"Yeah, but how am I gonna get it?"
"Let us help you, and you will find out. So, Rainbow Dash, what is your decision?"
She pondered for a moment, then replied, "I accept."
After she said this, her body began to change dramatically. Her coat darkened, her wings lengthened, her body doubled in size, her mane and tail became longer and more ethereal, her pupils became slits, her teeth sharpened, and the cloud on her cutie mark became black.
"That's it..." said the voice, "Let your transformation change you; make you better than you were before."
After her transformation, she felt far more powerful, as an invisible aura formed around her that would make even Princess Celestia tremble in fear.
She smiled devilishly as she said, in a voice much like her own, only far more commanding and threatening, "It is done."
"Miss Dash," asked one of the castle guards as he knocked on the door to her chambers, "Is everything alright? I heard some noises and felt I should-"
"Everything's fine," said Rainbow Dash, in an oddly powerful voice, "In fact, I've never felt better."
He opened the door to her chambers to find the room pitch-black.
"I need your armor," demanded Rainbow Dash.
"But... this isn't in my job descri-"
"Do it, or I'll rip your spine out your asshole. NOW."
He hesitated, before removing his armor and laying it on the ground. He then tried to run, but a pair of hooves dragged him back into the room.
"Not so fast, pal," said Rainbow Dash as her new form revealed itself before him. He was terrified, as she looked like she really could destroy him at any moment.
"From now on, you answer only to me,and you will obey without question," she told him, "Got it?"
"Y... yes, ma'am," he replied nervously.
As she donned the armor, it reshaped itself to fit her body, as well as darkening to silver instead of gold.
"Now..." she said, "Tell the others that I'll be away in the morning."
He nodded, and she flew out the castle window.
