___________________________________________________________________________________________________________
This for when/if there are two separate stories so signafi where one story ends for the chapter and another begins.Usually the two stories would happen in the same time.

{................................}This will be used to signify the exact thoughts of a character although I wont always write out the exact thoughts of characters so there is some room for interpretation by the raders.

"................" This will be used for dialog and if used in the middle of dialog or thoughts it is sarcasam

First attempt of writing and I am doing this story on a whim don't know how far I can take it but fell free to share your suggestions in the comments

Prologue [Edited]

Princess Luna had been imprisoned into the moon for almost one thousand years, all the while thinking of how it came to be that she was being forced to fight her sister. She merely wanted her and her sister to limit their influence on their subjects. So their little ponies did not become complacent and overly dependent on them but rather, experience hardship and learn how to do tings for themselves. The sisters had spoken many times, but Celestia would never listen to her sister's council, she thirsted for the admiration of their subjects and longed for the knowledge that everything would fall apart without her guidance. In the end, Luna had no choice but to use dark magic, to block out the sun. {Surely she would see reason when faced with the deaths of all our subjects on the line.}

Unfortunately, that just drove her beloved elder sister to think she should rule over both day and night that led to her banishment. While the banishment wasn't so bad as she could enter the dreams of ponies with even greater ease than when she had a physical body. She would also receive a new body made from the magic of harmony, in what her subconscious mind thought to be in peak condition.

She couldn't help but cry on the inside at the nightmares she kept seeing involving her night after night. No doubt her sister had spread lies about her, and the one thing that Luna didn't want to happen was happening. She could try to correct Celestia's deceit through dreams, but nopony would believe a dream they half-remembered over their ruler.

So with nothing left but time the princess of the night schemed a plan. She would play along with her sister's lies and pretend to be this Nightmare Moon, as she learned from the nightmares. She was no foal she knew that since her sister had used the elements for the selfish goal of banishing her for no other reason than to not have to argue. The elements would refuse to obey either of them since they share the same blood. It was that reason that drove her to resort to dark magic as the elements are the only defense there is if Discord breaks free from his chains.

Luna was sure that Celestia would raise new bearers of the elements controlling their lives from the shadows to make sure they represent the elements entirely. Then use the legends she created to make them re-seal her to the moon. The night princess wasn't worried though. It had taken her only three hundred years of banishment to come up with a spell that would allow her to bind the living force of another creature to her physical body. Since the elements of harmony are incapable of killing intelligent life, all she would need to do is use the spell on something that could speak.

She wouldn't use it on a pony since there were three major side effects. Firstly the bond while initiated by Luna, would be sustained by the life force of the bound being, and if they go too far away they will become steadily weaker until they die. Naturally, she would never take away the remainder of any ponies life regardless of the reason. Secondly the night princess would have access to the creatures strongest memories and emotions, and feel them as her own. Evidently because of this she couldn't bind any creature from within Equestria, lest she risks believing the lies the sun tyrant had spread about her.

Thirdly any damage to Luna's body would affect the creature she is bound with. While she was sure the elements wouldn't do anything resulting in death, she knew that there were fates far worse than death. She would not risk somepony being subjected to such a fate. But even worse the pain that the creature experienced, would be felt by her. She was immortal, but the feeling of pain was still unpleasant.

Also, since this creature would be bound to go wherever she does it had to behave and follow orders. Luna could use magic to convince the being of her point, but if she had to do it constantly it would cause her great stress and unrest. Meaning it couldn't be a Dragon's, Griffin's, or the Diamond Dogs. Well, that pretty much left her without any creature she could think of.

Due to these reasons the moon goddess had to come up with a summoning spell, which she did. Although, now she was worried of how exactly others would react to this poor soul that she had taken from it's home. She would hate it if it were treated as a monster since it would save her from another one thousand years of imprisonment.

Finally, it was the day of her release. Luna felt a great surge of power as her new body was formed. Without delay, she used a considerable amount of magic to banish Celestia to the sun. It wouldn't last more than a day as such; every moment was of the utmost importance.

She hurriedly split herself into six bodies. One would find the future bearers and lure them to the everfree forest. Where another four would have prepared challenges to test if the ponies are worthy of the elements. While also delaying them enough for the last and main princess to summon, and bind the creature that would save her.

As she performed the summoning, she created a fog of shadows and prepared to use magic to force whatever came through to do her bidding.

Before her in the fog of shadows stood an odd being that looked like a misshapen Diamond Dog. It was strange, but there was no time to ponder what it is, for the binding to be complete she had to know the true name of the creature and then touch its skin with her horn.

Luna without delay used her magic and merged a mind control spell in her words and asked.

"WHAT IS THINE NAME?!"

Josh Rovers was raised to think of himself as a weapon. His mentor as the current holder of the title Weaponmaster would tell him everything he had to cut down, or protect, and everything that he had to know. Some would say this was a harsh life, but it was all he knew. His name was given to him by his mentor when he was the age of one. The name held no meaning and as such it would be defined by his actions.

On more than one occasion, Josh was forced to carry a different name so that he could kill his teachers enemies. The one name he cherished as his only freedom and truly his position was the name, Josh Rogers.

Since first receiving his name he had trained day and night in the hopes that one day he would be strong enough to earn the title of Weaponmaster. The title held respect and honour but above all else it would grant for a weapon such as himself the right to wield himself and chose his own path. Rovers had tried running away when he was younger but time and time again, his wielder would track him down and punish him. There was no escape for him, except defeating his mentor and claiming his title of Weapon Master.

Josh Rover was now forty and had served as his master's weapon for thirty-nine years. All the while growing stronger as his wielder grew weaker with old age. Today he would defeat him and take the title of Weapon Master from the corpse of the closest thing to a father he had.

The two of them were now standing in a forest. Blades, shields, staves, bows, gauntlets, and chains scattered all around them, his mentor spoke as he took up a shield in his left hand while taking a chain in his right.

"Kid are you sure you wish to challenge for my title?

"Bow now and serve me as you have thus far, or I will break you WEAPON!" His master continued

Josh was reminded of a saying his mentor had told him on many occasions, {A bending weapon never breaks.} He wavered for a second but quickly came to his senses and picked up a five section staff. He held it in both hands while curling it around his back and then proceeded to take two daggers one in each hand while saying.

"You hold your title in name only, you have rusted by the blood of your enemies, bow now and serve me, as rusted as you are for you are not yet broken!"

With that the two charged at one another when they were twenty feet from one another Josh felt a surge of pain in his right hand. He held back a scream but dropped the dagger he held in that hand. As the dagger was falling, he saw an opening in his masters defences. His mentor swung the chain in his right hand with unimaginable force, wielding the shield from behind him. As the dagger was still falling, Josh used his right foot to kick the falling dagger towards his mentors heart. He knew that it wouldn't be that easy, but at least this would give him a slight advantage.

The aged Weapon Master was delighted. The child he had saved, raised, and taught, his craft to was fast, faster than he was now. But he would teach his apprentice that there is more to a fight than speed and strength. If he wished the title of master of all weapons, it would not be as easy as waiting for his master to cecum to old age. He continued his swing with his chain showing a clear opening for Josh, to try to exploit. He was rewarded with a dagger flying at him. Quickly he used the momentum of his swing to wheel around in a full three-sixty and receive the dagger with his shield while making a second swing with the chain.

Rovers watched as his attack was seamlessly blocked with no effort he saw the chain coming from his left. He had to stop the chain's momentum or else he would die before he got within 5 feet of his master. He held up his left hand and ducked beneath the chain. A second later, he heard the crack of bone.

He felt a sharp pang shoot through his arm, but he was glad that he didn't choose to try to block it with only his staff. The chain would have without a doubt gone trough it and kept going. Ignoring the pain, he rushed to his master clutching the dagger in his left hand. While splinters of what used to be one end of his five section staff were dug into his skin from the force of the tightening chain.

The Weapon Master was impressed there was no hesitation in the movements even when his arm was broken. He instantly knew that whatever use the chain had was gone, now that its momentum was stopped. He threw the end of the chain to delay his apprentice, as he pried the dagger that had been stuck in his shield and lunged with all his might.

Josh lost his balance from having the rest of the chain thrown at him. He didn't expect his master to discard his only weapon capable of killing. In the next moment, he came to realize how wrong he was. One of his own daggers started coming straight at him. Rovers acted purely on reflex before he even knew what he was doing.

He blocked the dagger with the end of the chained staff that he held in his right hand. The dagger had too much force in it, and the staff shattered, but the chain from the staff wrapped around the edge of the dagger and halted its momentum millimetres from his chest. His masters grip on the weapon was weakened, and Rovers used that moment and with one fluid motion send the dagger flying straight up. Using the chain that was hanging from his staff in his right hand. He swung wide for the throat of his master, while lunging with the dagger he held in his broken left arm.

The Weapon Master was disoriented he could block the dagger lunged at him with his shield while catching the dagger that was falling from the sky towards his head. But the chain would choke him, and he would die. He went trough a few other options, but they all ended in him dying. Finally, he made his decision he raised his shield to the left to block the chain and raised his right hand up to catch the dagger. He embraced the lunge to his heart and brought the dagger he had caught inches from the eyes of his killer and said while coughing blood.

"As my final lesson to you before you take my title you are a weapon so never point, your edge..." The mentor let out a pained cough"...Lest you point it at evil..."

Josh Rovers stood still fearing that should he move the dagger would go trough his head. He slowly let go of the dagger in his left hand and stepped back his master mentor and father figure stood firm holding the dagger tightly. His last words still ringing trough the air.

{Only point my blade at that which I see as EVIL.}was the only thought running trough his mind. But just as he was starting to comprehend truly that he was finally his master his vision was filled with darkness. Had he cecum to blood loss, had he earned his freedom only to fall? The next second, all those thoughts and worries left him as he heard a loud voice.

"WHAT IS YOUR NAME?"
